Although this Double T isn't open 24 hours like the one on Rt. 40, it still is delicious. The servers are friendly and attentive and the menu goes on and on. The portions are huge, prices are affordable and the food is delicious. My favorite is the breakfast special with two eggs any style, two sausage links, two bacon strips, grits (instead of home fries), and two pancakes (or French toast). It is a lot of food and I almost always finish it all. Then as soon as I leave the restaurant, I immediately regret stuffing so much food down my throat.

When I was pregnant, I kept wanting to eat breakfast food. For 9 months, I was a regular here eating my usual Double T- Diner breakfast special. They give you a choice of pancake or french toasts with eggs, bacon, sausage, and homefries. I used to go down to iHop often but the service was getting so slow there but here, the food arrives fast and the waitress there are so friendly. They remember your face and make you feel like your at a diner where they know your order, name and face by heart. The owners are super nice too. When you get good customer service, the food tastes even better. I am a fan of this place!

the staff here is incredible , attentive but not overly in your face, the crab dip appetizer is more for two then one but very tasty , their minestrone soup is pretty good, salad was fresh crisp and bright tasting, the main course was broiled scallops and a romanian Steak.... the portions are large and i need a box or two.... this diner is as close to a New Jersey diner as i have seen outside of north eastern NJ... tasty large portions great staff , prices are not bad but they are higher then the jersey diner.

Went here with my family on the way back from a family visit - figured a diner would be ok, not great but ok. Man, was I wrong! Totally the opposite! Food was good, plenty of staff to help, nice and friendly too! No complaints! This is a must go place and reminds me of a good old-fashioned Jersey Diner!

This is my grandmother's favorite restaurant. She raves over how large the portions are and always brings home a doggy bag (which is part of the appeal). I've been here a few times and while it's not my favorite place, it's pretty good. The menu is huge, so there's definitely something for everyone. Actually, the menu is so large it's sometimes hard to decide what to eat. Their soups are really good and grandma highly recommends the crab cake. PS: The senior menu is only served until 6:00 p.m., so get their early because they're pretty strict about the deadline.

I wasn't expecting much when I dine here with a friend but I was in for a very pleasant surprise. I had a small greek salad and it came with a dolma and a soup so I got the maryland crab. The food was a very good and and at a very good price. I will certainly visit again!

Came here for breakfast for the first time and I'm glad I did!! I don't always like coffee at restaurants but this coffee is the best! I ordered the broccoli and cheese omelette with pancakes...the omelette was good but those pancakes were so light and delicious I didn't need or use any syrup!! Yum!!!! My server Kristen was really sweet too.

Came here on the way home from NC and needed a place to stop for lunch. We did not want the typical fast food, and Yelp reviews afters seeing the sign on one of those highway blue markers made us choose to come here. Very crowded, but we got seated fast. The menu is enormous so being newbies here we did not know what the "go to best made thing" here was. Kids had a hot dog and fries, wife and I had paninis. Wife loved hers, mine mediocre; burnt on one side, soggy on the other, not too flavorful. Fries came with all meals which were good. Cole slaw was bland. Soups came with the sandwiches - Italian Wedding (pretty much Minestrone with 2 meatballs thrown in and some pasta balls), and Cream Crab which the wife said was quite good. I got a side $1 extra Onion Rings which I did not like at all because they tasted like they were in the fryer too long. But my kid and wife liked them. Besides some great tasting Coke, the best thing in my mouth from Double T Diner was the half-pickle spears! I got them all from my wife and kids. Yum! It was nice that the place did put the ice cream desserts for the kids in take out containers so we could hit the road. $50 including tax and tip for the 4 of us. I think maybe that the breakfast items are the way to go here, or try and figure out from the regulars what really is the thing to buy. There are too many choices, and they cannot be masters of them all. I'd want less quantity and more quality.

This was my first experience at this diner. I've eaten at other diners from this chain, and I've mostly become disappointed over the years. This visit was on Christmas Day, and there weren't many (if any) other options along the drive through Harford County to the Bmore beltway. First, our server was outstanding! I travel quite a bit on business, so I eat at many kinds of eating establishments, and I've had every imaginable extreme with servers, and this server was superb. I can't remember her name, but it may have been Gurung (sorry if I'm butchering her name). She was friendly, professional, and attentive. Our order was slightly tricky, and she got everything just right, and she communicated each time with a pleasant and sincere smile, a rarity in some high end steak houses, an extreme rarity in most diners. The food was very good across the board. The ham was perfect, and I find that it's hard to get really good ham that's cooked perfectly and doesn't have too much fat or gristle. The only reason I didn't rate this experience 5 stars is because one of the male servers/managers (not sure of his exact role), who smacked the butt of one of the female servers who was standing less than 5 feet from our table. I don't know that I've ever seen that, not 30 years ago, and certainly not in these times. That's unacceptable, and it took a lot of restraint from myself and my son and his friend NOT to walk over and say something to that idiot. When I went to pay the bill, I thought about bringing it to the attention of the older woman handling the cash register, but my impression from our short chat was that it would fall on deaf ears. That guy was an idiot, but this was an otherwise very good experience, particularly for "diner" food. if I knew for sure that I could get the same server -- and avoid the idiot guy -- I'd go back in a heartbeat.

My husband and I came here on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 pm and they were not crowded. And we have been here before. We had the fried Salmon Cakes and baked Macaroni and Cheese Entree which came with Soup and Salad. I had the shrimp bisque soup, which is always delicious. The salad was mediocre. I'm not a fan of regular lettuce and the tomato balls were too big for such a basic salad. The don't think the salmon cakes were fried because they fell apart very easily, They were more like baked or broiled and they had no onions in them. I have never eaten a salmon cake w/o onions, so you could tell they were missing something. The baked macaroni and cheese was the worst of the meal. It was GROSS!!! It was supposed to be BAKED. It tasted like a mushy milky mess of macaroni. There was nothing baked about it and I hate a milky taste in food. Where's the Cheese???? It is supposed to taste like cheese. I could not finish my meal. My husband and I will not return there anytime soon.

I have eaten here in the past and had a good experience. That said, my friends and I went again today, and it was so different that I can't even give it two stars. Here's what happened. I ordered the eggs benedict, one of my favorite breakfast dishes which I have had many times and many different restaurants. This was the worst eggs benedict I've ever had. Even for diner food. I wasn't expecting much, but this was downright awful. The canadian bacon was cold, the poached eggs were overcooked, and the Hollandaise sauce tasted like it had gone bad. The "home fries" (which were actually hash browns, though both the server and the manager disagreed with me on this) tasted spoiled as well, and had a weird taste to them I couldn't pin. I couldn't force myself to finish the eggs benedict or even take a second bite of the potatoes, even though I was extremely hungry. So I stopped eating the food. I was upset at still being hungry, but became more aggravated as I began to feel nauseous as well. When I told the waiter about how the menu had said the meal came with home fries, and was about to ask if I could have some, he debated with me what home fries are. I have worked in retail, and in customer service. Even if I had been wrong (and, really, I wasn't), he shouldn't have argued and been rude about it. Just to make sure I wasn't being an ass, I checked the handy interwebs to verify my stance on the potato dishes. As we go to pay, I mention to the cashier my displeasure with the food. She asks one of the employees to get the manager, and I thank her. He was taking a while to get there, however, and while waiting I decided to visit the bathroom where I promptly vomited up the food I had eaten. Upon returning and voicing my complaints about the food (which again he debated the potatoes and also gave me the stink eye), and mentioning how I had just thrown up said food, he offered no apology. He did not offer to take the meal off the check. His response was simply to hand me some breath mints and stand there in silence. I wish I could give no stars, but alas, Yelp does not give me the option. TL;DR Worst customer service I've ever experienced, bad food, I threw it up and the manager didn't care even the tiniest bit. I will never go back again.

I don't know where to start!!! I've been there three times (and will not be back)... the waiter of the first two times was so rude, argumentative, not pleasant at all... the third and last time, the waitress was nice. The menu is quite overwhelming, too many choices, I got confused but one of my least favorite things about this place is the customer service and PRICE!!!!! Do they know that they are a diner, right??? Seriously... when the bill comes, you are like: "I could have spent this amount in a nice restaurant with good food and customer service"... I live around the corner but I rather drive all the way down to Belair Road and eat at the "Overlea Diner", where they know that they are a diner, so they don't try to be anything else, the customer service is good, the food is delicious and you will not feel you were in the wrong place when the check comes.

Oh diner, why oh why do you do it....I just don't understand. Double-T diner does what so many diners do, they have a massive menu where nearly everything is mediocre and nothing is actually good. I can't vouch for this place aside from good service. Why I didn't like it: -My cream of crab soup looked like congealed brown gravy and was neither creamy nor craby. -My roast beef au jus was dryer than salted slug left in the sun on top of a rock (not that I've ever eaten that before....) -Coleslaw.........flavorless and somehow dry. I'm not even sure if that's physically possible. -Expensive for crappy diner food. I'm about 90% sure this place survives on lack on competition and and the fact that the elderly patrons have long lost their sense of taste. The service was great, they just need to slim down the menu so they don't have to cut so many corners.

This is the place to go if you are with a bunch of people who really don't know what they want to eat, because the menu is exhaustively huge. The food is about average for a diner-There's no wow factor here. You can expect huge portions of salty, rich food at higher-than- other-diner prices. The servers are generally attentive and well trained. The carpets look as if they could use a wash soon, however. Of the handful of times we've eaten here, I've enjoyed the Maryland cream of crab soup, grape leaves, cheeseburgers, and club sandwiches. Compared to other diners of the same variety (Russian/Greek owned and operated), such as The Nautilus, it falls somewhat short of 4 stars. Dasvidaniya!

  • Yasmin B.

The menu at this place is ENORMOUS as are the portions. The food isn't particularly memorable, but our server was beyond wonderful. Actually....that's the reason for my 5...because she was just that good. I was a little put off by their prices, but again....the service was just that great. My kids are dying to go back and I'm seriously considering it because of our server.

Just Blah and disappointing. Stopped in for brunch while shopping around town and thought it wouldn't be a bad option for the area.....wrong! I had the flavorless T-Bone and eggs while my wife had eggs, what looked like day old dried out stale bacon and she didn't even touch the potatoes. Coffee was even disappointing, service was fine though, but you would think that a waiter/server would look at what they're about to give a customer and ask themselves "would I serve that to myself"?

Lots on the menu! Best chicken soup ever! Open till midnight! The staff is friendly! The menu can be overwhelming to some, but for us its great, you never have to have the same thing twice if you don't want too.

Food ok. I like the gyros. As for a diner, it closes early and the hours aren't even listed according to the days of the week. It's clean and service is good.

I usually avoid diner's so when my family told us where were going for breakfast I was a bit disappointed. When we pulled up I really thought, oh my god, this is going to be awful. It was all shiny and chromed out. It was sitting up off the road like a total eye sore, but this is what we do for family right? Well I was very wrong. Never judge a book by it's cover I suppose. Breakfast was fantastic. The menu was huge, they had anything you could want, but I was on a mission, a scrapple and chipped beef gravy mission, so that is exactly what I ordered. It was wonderful, exactly what I was wanting. They smothered my wheat toast (I had to do something to make myself not feel like a complete glutton) with just the right amount of gravy, and they gravy had just the right amount of chipped beef. Sometimes you wind up with gobs of thick gravy and little bits of beef and others there is way too much chipped beef, this was just the right ratio. The hash browns were also really good and there was enough gravy to push over onto them. My scrapple was delish. Many do not appreciate the scrapple and they are missing out. When you top it with syrup you get the perfect combo of sweet and savory. The flavor was amazing. I loved it! I ate almost my entire meal and didn't even feel bad. It's not too often I indulge like this. It was the perfect country bumpkin PA breakfast I miss terribly.

The service was horrible. The waitress was popping and chewing gum while she was taking our order and she only checked on us when I asked for a refill. Since I've moved in this area I've spent hundreds of dollars at this location. The food was good...but the service will definitely keep me from returning.

I ordered a to-go order for my first experience here, which consisted of VERY overpriced hot cakes, and no bacon. They said they did not have bacon. What diner doesn't have bacon lol? Also they forgot my eggs, and cooked my wife's eggs wrong. Won't be going back.

We stopped in about 10:30pm on Sunday night after a dance. Two of us ordered the Senior Double T Breakfast Special, and one ordered a burger with cheese, mushrooms, and grilled onion, no bun, sub onion rings for fries. After waiting about 20 minutes for our food, (there were only 2 other tables with guests) the burger arrived on a bun, served with fries. She could have just not eaten the bun, but the cheese and mushrooms were all stuck to the bun. The server took it back and had it remade. After about 10 minutes, her dinner came out. The burger which was ordered med rare, was well done. The mushrooms were out of a can, and the onions were barely grilled. The onion rings were great! She needed mustard for the burger, but the server never came back. She finally had to get up and go to the cash register to get the server back. By this time she was discouraged and just sent the burger back. She did have a cup of soup and onion rings that were good. Our breakfasts came with eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, and choice of pancakes or French toast. The eggs were fine on both plates. The home fries were cold. The sausage was terrible tasting, and the bacon was so over cooked and hard it was not edible. The pancakes were good, but the French toast was burnt. The syrup was served cold in small single serve sealed cups. We ate the eggs, and the pancakes only. Everything else was left on the plate. One of us ordered a milkshake. It was $4 and was like a child's serving. Extremely small for an adult $4 serving. One of the benefits of being a senior citizen is receiving a senior discount. This restaurant advertised a 10% discount on any breakfast for seniors. The server did not know anything about it, but did ask and we were told that the discount would be taken at the register. When we went to pay, the cashier did not believe we were seniors and actually carded the 65 year old man in our group. The discount was on the breakfast, so it was $1 off each breakfast. REALLY!! You card the senior for his $1 savings and are shocked because he does not look 65. That is just plain rude to card a senior for a $1 discount! There were 3 diners in our party. No ones food was good enough to say we would ever go back. It's pretty hard to mess up bacon, eggs, sausage, and hamburgers! However, this restaurant managed to mess up every meal, give terrible service, and insult a senior citizen by telling him he was lying about his age! Needless to say, we will go to Denny's next time we are hungry after a dance. No more Double T Diner for us!

This is one of the better double t diners. In my opinion those with the better reviews have managers that are good with customers. All the food was cooked well with hot food hot as expected. The menu at this chain is huge and any item is available at any time.

  • Dan A.

Ive had pretty good experiences here. The food is always good and comes in pretty good portion sizes. The servers could be a little better about bringing refills, and the food does seem to take a pretty long time to come out, which is the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5.

    (4)
  • Judith A.

The 4 rating considers that I am rating a diner, not a fine dining restaurant. Given that, it's clean, service is good, and they are open almost any time you might be hungry. It's a favorite place for me and my guy to enjoy each other over desert and coffee. We've had satisfying dinner salads and great breakfasts. If you try nothing else on the menu, treat yourself to the fresh spinach, mushroom, and tomato omelet. Yum! !!!

Have eaten here for years and WILL NEVER GO BACK. Took home dessert today that had MOLD on it.....FIFO and rotating food is the first rule in the food industry. How can I be sure the food I order isn't moldy and from a week ago? Or recycled garbage? I am completely disgusted!! Is it too much to expect to be served fresh food - $43 for brunch for 2 and 3 pieces of pastry. They should be ASHAMED!

Double T is always a go to for comfort, variety, and portions. Sounds good but why only a 3 star ? 1. Service :::: When our server arrived at the table(5 min for the intital table touch) this young lady was very quick with answers but also very abrasive with short answers like she was in a hurry (only 2 other tables in the whole place) I think she had side work to get to. My order was delivered on time hot and correctly. 2. Food :::: I usually stick with breakfast when I go in and they never fail. Pancakes, french toast, eggs any style they nail it. Another good comfort food is the open face hot turkey just makes ya warm inside if your looking for something a little lighter try the captains boat. 3. Atmosphere :::: When you walk in your greeted quickly (most the time with a smile) and sat even faster. The cases and cases of the homemade desserts and pastries make it feel like a classic diner, until you look up and there is 42 inch flat panel screen in the middle of the counter and 3 more in the dining room. While sitting in the booth remembering the miniature jukeboxes replaced now by out of date bar games. Last but not least while your enjoying your meal you see the bus boy sitting in a booth texting while there are dirty tables waiting to be cleaned. Nothing says welcome to our establishment like dirty tables and lazy employees that can get away with it. 4. Overall :::: This is the place to go at almost anytime of the day if you want a wide selection of dishes served to you fast and hot with just ok service and cleanliness.

I love the Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and their Red Snapper Sicilian style is fresh and tasty...Prime Rib was eh..so so...Chicken Pot Pie was gross...tasted old and like it had been frozen. Everything else I've ever had thought has always been delicious with a great value for the amount of food given.

Probably a shift change? One thirty pm on a Saturday afternoon after T'Giving and I got the fish-n-chips 'special'. It came with soup and a salad, which unfortunately were presented to eat together, not in courses. A hot and a cold sitting in front of me...what to do? Then the fish came out with another side, cole slaw. The fish was only warm, fries hot. The entire meal I had the empty soup & salad bowls/dishes left in front of me, never cleared, along with an empty iced tea glass, which was refilled with a new glass. Never offered a dessert. Restaurant was less that 1/3 filled and waitresses were being released/sent home after doing chores like refilling sugars and salt & pepper shakers. Sorry I disturbed their 'routine' by bringing my appetite and money in. When I left I left my tip int he middle of the uncleared dirty dishes I sat with, well after completing my disappointing meal.

The place has a huge menu with pretty good food. Service is good but they have their moments. The biggest complaint I have is the desserts. They aren't made in house and just sit in the refrigerators uncovered and you get that fridge taste and some of the toppings congeal. Has always been clean and the food plentiful, they don't skimp.

  • Lauren Y.

The food is average and is expensive for a diner. The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. Parking is easy but it is situated on a difficult corner. The restaurant is clean but the service is less than average. This is a good dessert and coffee place. The desserts are great and they will refill your coffee as much as you like (or at least as many times as you can catch your waiter).

choices choices choices! came here for breakfast with a friend. very friendly staff - greeted and seated right away despite being there at 6:30 am. extensive menu with even more options for sides with respect to carbs (toast, muffin, biscuit, home fries, grits, etc). I settled for the western omelet with grits, toast, and a cup of coffee. the veggies and meat in the omelet were fresh and cooked well. grits were nice and buttered, toast comes with a bowl of butter and various jams and jellies. our waitress was efficient in refilling my coffee. all in all, it was a decent meal, nice place to catch up with an old buddy, and I left really full without even finishing all of my sides for just under $10.

Stopped in here with my daughter on the last leg of our road trip because traffic was horrible. Its a diner...not spectacular...not horrible. The menu is extensive. I would say it gets the job done with little in the way of frills.

The menu is straight out of the Encyclopedia Britanica (it is huge), though it used to be even larger. I had an exceptionally attentive and pleasant waitress this evening. She was perfect! The food was very good comfort food, as usual. I got a Gyro sandwich with fries and chicken soup. The cup of soup had HUGE chunks of chicken and was seasoned just right. The gyro was stuffed and was delicious as well. I am rarely disappointed when I stop at any Double T location.

Not the cheapest diner in town. This place has taken diner food to a new level. They have set the bench mark for all to follow. The only meal that I can finish in its entirety is maybe a fish fillet, everything else will require take away, after considering the soup, the salad, the bread and the over sized entree. Dinner specials are generally the way to go but the main menu is also a tremendous value and will be freshly cooked and served with a smile. The baked goods on display are amazing and can you believe they even serve alco beverages. I dare you to try the mile high meatloaf or the chicken pot pie, you won't believe your eyes. Bring a good appetite and try to avoid peak hours, parking is sufficient. One visit and I am sure you will become a fan.

Service is not all that, they never seem to notice that your coffee cup is empty and when you ask, they make it seem like they are doing you a favor. Most servers will give you a rushed service, and are not patient enough, they also disappear from the dining room for most of the meal, so IF you had any issues they are not around to address it. The older man, with over sized glasses, who seems to be running the place doesn't care when you express these concerns, and is loaded with excuses. The only consistently good food is the breakfast food otherwise, beware it could be hit or miss.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
