Pros: *Food was delicious! *Waitress was friendly and considerate. *Place was quiet. Cons: *Corn tortillas were extremely tough, almost ruined the goodness of the meal. (We replaced our flour tortillas with corn, for gluten intolerance reasons--can't vouch for their flour tortillas) *The complimentary tortilla chips were soaked with oil and were stuck together, some not even fried.

Don Pablo's is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I've eaten here several times, and I've never been disappointed. I might be a little biased since I really like Mexican food and TexMex. There are definitely "more authentic" Mexican restaurants out there, but give this place a chance. Don't be scared away by the fact that it's part of a chain. There's a reason why it's a chain. I really like the atmosphere. It seems like they try to give you the impression that you're sitting outside in a Mexican town at a party. It's a cool building with very high ceilings, unique lighting, and some semi-tacky things for good measure (a cut-out of the Dos Equis guy). There's a nice bar to the right of the entrance, and a very large dining area. The food is reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food that you get. Our waiter was friendly, and I've never had bad service here. The menu has a huge selection of entrees, sides, appetizers, desserts, and drinks, but there is some overlap on the platters. After you're seated, you're served tortilla chips and salsa. I think they're made right in the restaurant. They have a unique taste, and they're addicting. I ordered the "Tejas" last weekend, which is a beef taco, chicken enchilada, and a cheese and onion enchilada. The taco had a crunchy shell. All of the food was properly prepared, the ingredients were all flavorful, and I enjoyed the rice and BBQ baked beans on the side. The beans weren't too sweet, and the meal was filling. If you want a cheap and shareable dessert, try the sopapillas! I had them on a previous visit, and they rule. They're pastries that remind me of warm and soft tortilla chips that are covered in a carmel/butter sauce and powdered sugar. They used to have an all-you-can eat taco night and an enchilada night that are great if you have a big appetite, but I'm not sure if they're still offered. I once ate 10 enchiladas for about 9 dollars! It's a fun place to go with a group of friends or family members. Highly recommended.

I'm not surprised at all that this restaurant got a crappy review from others. The service is atrocious ! I walked in to the place a couple of weeks ago to grab lunch on my break. I sat at the bar where no one else was sitting but there were several waitstaff. N o one greeted or acknowledge me, which I can live with, but after 12 minutes of waiting I couldn't take it anymore..While I was waiting, the manager came out from the back part of the restaurant to greet a young lady who was there for an interview. Still he never greeted me or asked me if I was being served or at least ask the waitstaff to make sure I was being waited on! After 15 minutes of no interaction, I decided that was enough and went across the street to a grill where I was served immediately (by friendly people) a delicious meal. Again you never have a second chance to make a first impression and although the waitstaff is abhorrent in Don Pablo's,The management is the real problem! I would give it zero stars except that yelp doesn't allow you to leave a review if you do that.

This only gets a three because of the drink quality. It would be no more than a two otherwise. I've been to this location several times with friends who really like it. Normally, we eat dinner here before going to the bars on the Avenue, like Tilted Kilt. It's normally pretty busy on a Friday or Saturday night at Don Pablo's, but I don't know how they stay in business otherwise. Pros: Cheap beer, pretty awesome margaritas, the food is allegedly fresh made and the fajitas show it, not super expensive. Cons: I've never had exceptional service here, the only food I will eat here is the fajitas (note: I usually leave hungry even though the fajitas are very good-it's just a really small portion for my taste), virtually all of the other food just isn't all that great in my opinion (I had ribs here that caused my teeth to bleed they were so tough -and I have exceptional dental health). Good place to pre-game before going downtown or to the other local bars, but not a good place for a sit-down meal IMO.

As far as Americanized Mexican food/chain restaurants go Don Pablo's is the best in the area and this particular location in White Marsh exceeds the quality of other Don Pablo's stores. Full disclosure I worked here over 10 years ago while in college and I can say it was by far THE CLEANEST kitchen I ever worked in during my service career. Unlike a lot of other Tex-Mex spots I worked at they actually make the food on-site (boil the beans, crush the avocados for the guac etc.) I worked at several places that just got that type of stuff frozen off a truck and microwaved everything. They have great margaritas and happy hour specials but you have to get there early - the bar isn't very big and it's always packed on the weekends. Service isn't as great as it used to be but I set the bar incredibly high in my day.

The service has always been excellent when I go to this location. The food is slightly above average compared with similar chain restaurants. They have some nice daily specials like all you can eat fajitas night. I find the ingredients to be fresh and well prepared most of the time. Be sure to try the Cornmeal Spoon Bread as one of your sides! The atmosphere is fun and inviting and it is an easy location to get to and park.

Awful! The General Manager was so rude to me for having an Alabama license even though I had back up, including a car with Alabama plates to prove it! Ridiculous! He made a huge scene and didn't even comp our meal. Don't bother going, he was beyond rude and he ran the establishment!! Ridiculous!

Hard to find a good place to eat at the Avenue. The quest continues. If I actually started a list this one would be close to the bottom. It is as far away from Mexico and good Mexican food as you can get even for a chain restaurant. I have eaten here several times in the past few years and have never had a decent meal. So why do I go back.....not for the food, but to meet friends for a few quick $2.99 margaritas and the basket of chips and salsa at the bar area before or after a movie. Several of my friends this time opted for the Thurs special of all you could eat enchiladas and they could not eat the three that came with the meal. The chicken one seemed to be the best. The cheese and beef not so good! Left mainly on the plate. No one asked for any more. Oh and if you want guacamole sauce to help disguise the flavor you will be hit for $1.49 extra. Come on now....I hate when restaurants do petty things like that. The service was good when we arrived at 4 but as it got busier the service went down. When the restaurant was new and first opened I was much younger and was very impressionable and thought the open ceiling was so cool. Now it just makes for a very loud place that is hard to have a conversation with your party. They do have lots of specials....all you can eat nights, and so on and I guess that in today's economy that can be a good thing if it is at least edible.. Me,,,. I would rather stay home and cook up some tacos at home and call it a day. Guacamole sauce which is so easy to make included! My stomach can not handle the food at this restaurant and so I will say no to eating here but yes to having a few drinks before the movie. That;s the reason for the two stars.

Sure, it's a chain, but the food is consistently good. Lots of good choices on the menu at reasonable prices. Excellent margaritas. Free chips and salsa at the table. Service is usually great except it can get a little slow when it's really crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings. Some outside seating available during warm weather months.

This place is good. There are not that many mexican places around MD. This is a little too much like a chain for my taste. The prices are reasonable. Excellent nachos. Overall the food is above average and plentiful, but nothing spectacular. Would recommend.

On top of the fact that its fake mexican food, bc its frozen and just warmed up ( do you really think fresh food is prepared and served in less than 10 minutes) the kitchen manager likes to check out and flirt w married men so no i wont be coming bk and i def dnt recommend it!

Ok, so this is a Mexican place. It is north of Mexico, so I don't really expect it to be authentic. They have pretty decent $3 margarita's, and I really enjoyed the buffalo chicken tacos (not authentic at all, but pretty good). Their salsa is more cilantro-y than spicey, so keep that in mind. I'll definitely go back here, maybe for cheap Fajita day (I think it was tuesday). Keep in mind it is kind of loud, not the place for an intimate conversation. It's all a matter of your expectations.

This place was disgusting. Hair in my food. Bland food. Runny salsa. tortillas tasted like baking soda. Only good thing was the margharita. Honestly this is the worst mexican food I have ever had. I don't see how they stay in business the food was so disgusting.

I did not have a pleasant experience at Don Pablo's. I shared chicken and steak fajitas for two, and was so disappointed. The chicken and steak were dry and the rice and beans tasted like they had been reheated 10 times. Also, the waitress was not attentive at all. I had to walk up the bar to get a glass of water. I will never be going back.

Never in my life have I ever payed for food so bad. We were seated in a filthy section. (Honestly the whole place was dirty) I counted 16 dirty tables that were never even approached with a wash cloth the entire time I was there. EVERY SINGLE TABLE NEXT TO US WAS COVERED IN FILTH. There were piles of trash hidden behind chairs that I hadn't noticed when I first arrived. (For those who think to themselves.... they must have been busy. NOPE. I was just me and my wife surrounded by a bunch of dirty tables.) When I was given a menu I was pretty excited. They have all these great sounding deals. All you can eat this and all you can eat that. We couldn't order any of that though because they are work week deals. I promised myself that if the food was even remotely good I'd come back for the cheap and easy high calorie foods. We ordered a sampler dish which looked and tasted as though it had spent a week on somebodies passenger seat in their car. Not even remotely warm. Looking at their website, I am reminded of what I ordered. The Four Amigos Enchiladas. Man, it looks really, REALLY good in the picture doesn't it? The stuff that arrived on my place was nowhere near that. It was nice and hot though. Something in the food had chili powder in it. At least I hope that is what it was... An incredible amount of chili powder. I was literally playing with the powder between my tongue and incisors. The meats tasted old. Unfortunately, I cant describe the consistency. By my third bite, I had to go to the bathroom. It is now Monday and I have had the runs since 15 minutes after I left Don Pablos in the middle of the meal. On a positive note, their fountain Coke was fantastic. Really top notch! I did not finish my meal. I had 1 bite of each enchilada and a bite of the rice. TL;DR: Enter at your own risk. This place is filthy, and so is their disgusting, diarrhea inducing food. Half a star because the coke was good.

My friend and I decided to come here on a Saturday for dinner before we headed to the movies. We understood that with the time we went in, which was around 8 pm, on a Saturday that there would be a wait. No big deal. The hostess told us the wait would only be about 5 minutes and she took our names. She never gave us one of those light up things that tells us when our table is ready but we didn't think of it until we saw people who had come in after us get seated before us. Again this wasn't a huge deal to us because it wasn't like we had been there for hours. The hostess just seemed to be out in space and more interested in flirting with any guy who walked in. So we get up and ask how much longer its going to be and she just looks at me like I asked her to recite the numbers of Pi to the 28th digit. Luckily the manager was standing right there and asked for our pager and I told him that we didn't have one. He apologized for the wait and seated us right away. The first thing we ordered was drinks. I ordered a strawberry margartia and my friend had a mango margarita. Both delicious! They were strong, but not to the point where I felt like I was gonna fall over from one sip. we also got queso and fajitas. Everything was cooked to perfection! They give you a lot more steak with their fajitas than Chili's does and they aren't burnt like the steak at Chili's usually is. Our waitress was awesome as well and I wish I would have remembered her name. But she was hilarious! All in all it was a good night, even with the air head hostess.

Of any of the choices in and around the White Marsh/Avenue area, this is near the bottom of the list for me. There are several reasons, first and foremost. the food is just so... blah. I'm not a food snob by any means -- I'm perfectly happy eating at a chain as long as things are half decent -- but Don Pablo's takes it a step down. Everything is mushy, over salted, over cheesed, unoriginal and/or just generic tasting. Eating a combo platter is like eating a big plate of the same thing in 3 different colors. Even their margaritas are nothing to write home about -- watery and bland. And all of their locations seem to be that huge industrial style with a high ceiling, cement floor and wood furniture so that the noise level becomes unbearable. This one is no exception. To top it off, the wait staff here always appears bothered that you want them to, you know, wait on you. My advice: Just say No to Don Pablos.

  • Leila F.

I have been here so many times to satisfy my Mexican food cravings, but I am never satisfied. The food is nothing special. The only thing I've ever thought actually had great flavor, let alone any flavor, was the Cantina nachos. Our waiters are usually pretty good, but on a Saturday night it took us over an hour to be seated, and our appetizer took at least 25 minutes. It was understandable, but they told us it would be 45 min or less to wait. Delicious raspberry margaritas. I have to say though that I like Chevy's better.

The great thing about this restaurant was that there was no wait when nearby places had a wait time of 20-30 minutes. But after eating there I understood why. Overall, the presentation of the place was nice. The inside is spacious and festive and the servers were friendly. But I was pretty unimpressed with the food. It seemed pretty unauthentic and even w/that the taste and quality wasn't too great. The tortilla chips came with salsa that was pretty bland and the crispy steak tacos also seemed to lack much flavor. I ended up putting salsa in the tacos and then took it home to add sour cream later on. I also had a strawberry margarita that seemed to have no alcohol content although maybe that should have been expected. The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't great and I think I would have been just as satisfied going to Taco Bell. The one great part of the meal was the corn bread... which was more like sweet corn mash w/a little cheese on top. Also, if you go there for birthdays, a server stands by your table and announces the fact that it's your birthday to the entire restaurant and asks everyone to yell "happy birthday!" back. I guess it's better than having the entire waiting staff surround the table while singing their own rendition of the happy birthday song.

Returned after having dined several years ago. One thing was the same, the noise level is quite loud. Concrete walls to look like a Mexican village and a industrial ceiling like a warehouse, combine to give no sound absorption. The mixed conversations swirl the room to land at your table. The waitress was very good, making up for a sloowww kitchen. In the end, the food was excellent. Had the enchiladas, rice and spoon corn bread, which was tasty. Overall was good and if you are okay eating with the noise level of a school cafeteria...

Coming from Texas originally, I am constantly on the search for decent "Mexican" food. I guess Don Pablo represents the cookie cutter standard. It's neither stellar nor awful. Prices are average. Style/atmosphere is average. They have all the usual suspects: queso, enchiladas, fajitas, etc. House margaritas are nothing great but they do have a full bar so you can order a top shelf if you're feeling it's worth the extra money (short answer, it is). If you're catching a movie or shopping in the area and you're hungry, it will satisfy. But if you're looking for something special this is probably not going to wow you.

Since we miss the food in Texas and New Mexico, we've made a habit of checking out any Mexican or Tex Mex restaurants we come across. We were in White Marsh and decided to stop here for lunch. The service was very quick even though the restaurant was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon. The chips were decent and the salsa was pretty good. We decided to split the fajita combo with chickens and steak. I was surprised that I liked the chicken so much, but the steak didn't taste right. The refried beans were actually really good and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the tortillas. But the guacamole didn't taste fresh. Overall it wasn't a bad experience and probably warrants a 2.5 review, but we won't be regulars here.

So quite disappointing. We stopped here for lunch on Labor Day. Steady flow of customers but only about half full. (I heard one staff member say they were 'slammed.' Umm, no.) We ordered and that is where the trouble really started. Server did not write anything down. That is a major pet peeve of mine. It does not make your restaurant fancy when you do that. Some if the nicest places write down the order. Of course some things came out wrong. My daughter ordered a soft beef taco and a hard chicken taco came out. To fix it, server brought out some soft tacos for us to re-make it ourselves! Even if it was beef, as ordered, to make us remake itself ourselves is absurd. Then we noticed that no plates or cups were ever cleared by any servers. Everything was just left. We had 3 empty chip bowls, 5 soft drink cups and all of our empty plates still on the table. Just crazy. Food was good, but could not overcome the lousy service.

I missed Don Pablo's since they closed in Mobile, Alabama several years ago. I was greeted promptly and seated next to a fountain. One thing I love about this place is the size of it. The dining room is vast with a super high ceiling. The whole place has great atmosphere. I ordered the 'three amigos' enchiladas with black beans and rice. While waiting, I snacked on the chips. They have great, thin chips that are fresh made in the restaurant. Way better than the thick, bagged chips at some places. The food arrived quickly and was nice and hot. I liked the chicken enchilada, thought the beef one was ok, but loved the cheese and onion. I'll get three of those next time. Overall, very nice dinner. The server was great. He was there when I needed and not when I didn't. Perfect server attention. I'll definitely be back here when in town.

Don Pablos isnt bad for a "chain" restuarant but the food prices are cheap, so I'm not really sure what the complaints are about? The price you pay, determines the quality you receive. The "Good" -Steak or Chicken Fajita Burrito (delicious)\ -Cheap Prices -Family Atmosphere -Queso Blanco dip! The "Bad" -Bad Management (I would know, I worked there) -Enchiladas are gross -Service (college kids.. but what do you expect?) If you want real home-cooked Mexican food, check out El Salto in Parkville MD!

First time in this place probably won't be back and I have not even gotten my food yet.. Let's start at the bar.. Basic stuff completely ignored like the bartenders name and maybe setting down a napkin for your drink and hey what about a straw that is not not for a coke glass.. Now I've been sat and rushed by a waitress snatching the menu from me I know it's Friday but come on I will update this once I get my food..

Stay away! Go to "on the border" in towson. Used to come here no less than 8 times a month. Since Buffalo Wild Wings bought them out, it has been a mess!. Slow service, poor food and lines with open tables. Poorly run. Thanks for pushing me to the competition. I Will never return. Better food in towson with better staff. Adios amigos! Oh wait! Who charges 50 cents for guacamole in a Mexican restaurant? Don Pablos! Come on man!!!!!

This place is Mexican like Taco Bell is Mexican. Huge (probably house made) tortilla chips and watery salsa arrive with your drinks. The chips are never bad. There isn't anything remarkable about the food, except for how much money you've spent on it. Anything tastes good with hot sauce and guacamole anyway. They do have different all you can eat daily specials each day of the week, which are likely reasonably priced if you tend to indulge in all you can eat arrangements.

Ordered the Fajitas for Two (combo chicken and steak) and it was so flavorless. I had to drench it in the bland house salsa and Cholula just to make it palatable. Not a true Tex-Mex joint. Try Cactus Cantina in DC, or any Guapos for that matter, for a much better experience. There are also a ton of smaller mama and papa joints that you should try before coming here. Our server Ray was cool though.

I hardly EVER leave poor reviews. But we ordered a pitcher of margaritas which was disappointingly weak (mostly sour mix). And our portion of steak and chicken fajitas left a lot wanting. Good thing we filled up on chips.

Don Pablos is a struggle for me. I want so badly to love it (as I do many TexMex restaurants) but I just can't bring myself to it. Our friends frequently like to gather here because there is quite a bit of seating, and the food is OK, but the drinks definitely bring down the score. The steak is decent, the chicken is very average, and somewhat dry. The salsa is good, but pretty much the same bottled mixture you get at any Northern "Mexican" restaurant. The margaritas are heavy on the sour mix and very light on the tequila and the other mixed drinks are probably the same. The beer list is decent, but the food just doesn't have the sparkle I was hoping to find. The wait staff is friendly, and the prices are to be expected... I'm sure it's pretty decent for anyone looking for a quick somewhat Mexican bite to eat, but I just haven't been as impressed as I'd hoped the last few visits.

We seem to frequent Don Pablo's often. The waiter the last time was great. Incredible nice, fun, fast and accurate (can't beat that right!) the food is also fairly consistent. Good food, good drinks nothing out of the ordinary and nothing surprising. It would be nice if the atmosphere was a little more entertaining. However, on a weekend they are usually crowded , so you may have a little bit of wait time, but for the most part its fairly average!

The last three times my family/friends and I have been there (within the last 6 months) the service has been terrible. The food was pretty good, but you can get the same quality food with much faster/better service at other local restaurants.

The service here is slipping! My sister and I came for the all you can eat enchiladas a few weeks ago and the wait for a table was thirty minutes. It was pretty busy, but we were starving and saw an open table in the bar area so we decided to sit there. There was food still on the table and a waitress told us that she would come by soon to wipe it down and then we could sit there. Twenty minutes later we decided to wipe the table down ourselves and about five minutes later the server came over. She didn't apologize for the wait or anything and said she would come back to take our drink order. Ten minutes later, she came back. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and two waters along with the all you can eat enchiladas. We didn't get our chips for a long while. I understand that it was busy and we were fine with the wait in the beginning. But then it started to die down and we were one of the only tables left in the bar and our server still didn't come around to check on us. We needed more water (she never gave us a refill), we wanted more chips and salsa, and we could have eaten more of our all you can eat enchiladas, but our server seemed to have better things to do. The table next to us complained to the server because the shrimp on their entree was dry and shriveled up, but she didn't return with the new shrimp until their entree was pretty much gone. I know it does not take that long to cook a few shrimp... This was supposed to be a quick dinner after a long day of work, but we ended up being at the restaurant for over two and a half hours. We should have just waited for the seats in the dining room. When I was telling a friend about this experience, they referred to the restaurant as "Don Problems" and I agree. I haven't been back since.

One of the last surviving Don Pablo's after the "bad economy" closings. This place has one of my favorite funny memories that took place just out front. It was a regular stop with great friends for 1/2 price Fajitas. The bar is decent but small and fills up fast as it is on the Avenue. I know its not authentic Mexican, but for a chain ... its pretty good. "The Good" - Staff is friendly and mostly the college crowd working their way through the semester, that being said it will be hit or miss. - Decent Mexican food for a change. Its not outstanding and makes no claim to be. - Fresh Tortillas and in turn fresh chips! - Pretty healthy drinks, the margaritas and a nice place to start. "The Meh" - The Avenue is what makes it and breaks it. Limited parking but it is on one of the end slots. "The Bad" - Nothing really bad to comment on.

Something about this chain Mexican place that keeps me coming. Nice bar area and large dining room. Fresh chips made in the dining room, come warm with watery salsa to the table. I have had the fish tacos, fajitas, rellano, and tamales. All are good. The best part is the variety and lunch specials available for the price. Several Margarita choices, in size and content, and they are good too.

I come here because its close to where I live and its pretty cheap. I really enjoy their margaritas also! (on the rocks, rimmed with salt). When you sit down, you get a basket of chips and salsa. Neither really amazing. I really like fajitas, and I think thats all I ever order when I come to Don Pablo's. Their meat is seasoned well, but every once in a while comes out overcooked. Same with their veggies - sometimes they'll be cooked perfectly, other times they're burned and stuck to the skillet. On Monday, they have "Forever Fajitas Mondays" where you can get unlimited fajitas for i thin $10.99. I was full after my first skillet... When I do leave enough room for dessert, I get their sopapillas! Yumm... warm fried dough topped with caramel sauce and ice cream. Delicious, yes. Healthy, no.

We don't usually go to chain resaturants, but it was defnitely convenient for a late dinner, after a movie on the avenue. They were able to sit us immediately around 9:30, which was great since there were 8 of us. The food came out quickly and honestly, I really enjoyed it! I had the chile relleno, chicken taco, and a side of steamed vegetables. All delicious. The whole table enjoyed their dinners & drinks. The waitress was really nice and did a fantastic job. She also volunteered to split our checks. We didn't mind either way, but this was great. A lot of times the restaurants act like this is a pain. She came back in less than 10 minutes, with all the checks correct. I am sure we will be back if we are in the area.

Came here with my girlfriend on a Monday night at about 7pm. There was no wait and we were seated quickly. The drinks and appetizer came quickly and were good. Problem came with the entrees... took way too long! We'd been finished with our appetizers for about 20min before our entrees came out! Ribeye steak w/mashed potatoes and spoon corn bread: The cornbread was the only good thing about this entree! Ordered the steak medium, came out completely well-done and dry! Mashed potatoes came out completely cold; sent it back and you could tell they just microwaved it. They didn't even pretend to make a new batch. To top it off, it came back cold AGAIN! The Presidente (beef and chicken enchiladas and a chile relleno): The cheese in the chile relleno wasn't even melted. Didn't even bother trying the enchiladas... By this time we were just ready to leave. But of course we had to wait a while for the check since our waitress was busy chatting with a friend, who was seated in her section. If we didn't have somewhere to be by 8:30pm, I would have stayed to speak to the manager. The service and food was subpar. We definitely will not be visiting this establishment again!

Consistent tex-mex and solid happy hour deals. We've been to Don Pablo's multiple times and always had a good meal. Nothing stands out as a particular specialty, but fajitas, tacos, and Mexican entrees were all solid. Stick to the Mexican part of the menu - ribs and other barbecue were sub-par. Good margaritas - nothing too fancy, but a great value.

I live in Texas and the food here is mediocre and hospitality is absent. The chicken was dry and the salsa tastes like Pace. I grew up in this area and now that I am back here frequently, I can honestly say that I miss the old days here and Texas is by far the best place in the US for food and hospitality.

The server was extremely nice to us even though we had a fussy baby. (The baby loved the fact that there were so many decorations on the walls.) The chile relleno, tamale, chile mashed potatoes, and quesadilla that I had were really good. The margarita was passable. Good food, good atmosphere, and good prices. I approve. Granted, I don't know from authentic Mexican, but I was happy.

We've eaten at this location and one other in West Virginia (I think) and it's always hit or miss. The hits are that you can have unlimited free corn chips and salsa-and why not, it's and affordable way to keep people happy. The carnitas are always good, so too the fajitas. The misses, sometimes they are slow, sometimes the portions vary (depending on the amount of customer traffic). The wait staff has gotten much better and is generally attentive. We always let the manager know what wait staff need raises because of stellar service!

I really like this place. We found it one day after inspecting the new house. The food was good and the service was attentive. We went back (since we live so close now) and the experience was the same. Good food, many options for my little one, great location, and always seating either immediately or within 15 minutes. Big place, has a bar (don't drink so I can't speak to the quality of the beverages served there), and the service is usually good - I say usually because when it gets busy (dinner time) then things get a little slow, but they never forget about you. I'm a fan.

My coworkers and I went here for a farewell happy hour. There were a lot of us, but we were all ordering drinks and many of us food. The server was rude and apparently was avoiding us because it was almost impossible to order. I thought it was because he was swamped but apparently he was mean from the start when people went to set up and the restaurant was empty. I ordered the fajitas and so did a few people next to me. They made us share the tortillas and gave us less than a normal order would have. I asked for me and was basically yelled at by the server who stomped off (I did not get any more tortillas). I don't know how I was supposed to eat the rest of my meal without tortillas so I made it into a salad the next day. Overall, it was a discounted weekday price and I still feel like I overpaid for the food which was very mediocre at best. We had to chase after him to get the bill and he made a rude comment about us probably wanting to split it, which we weren't even going to do. Who makes condescending comment to the paying customers? It was frustrating that after a fun night the consensus was that the service was beyond terrible, it was offensive. I hope they turn the place around but I will not be returning.

This place has great margaritas, and nice atmosphere. Other than that the food is pretty bad. Some of the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Even there black beans are disgusting, how do you mess up black beans, you can just take them out of a can and they would be better than here.

After a good, hard workout, Sweet Husband Mine and I decided to take a trip up this way for some shopping and food. I let him pick the place to eat, and he decided on Tex-Mex... so Don Pablo's it was. We only had to wait for a few minutes, even though the place was pretty full. Once seated, we were attended to quickly - our server was nice and very polite. (I can't remember for sure who it was - I think it sounded like Morgan, though.) Mindful of dietary restrictions, I decided on Mama's Skinny Enchiladas with a side of Mexican rice and chile mashed potatoes (my one indulgence), while SHM had The Don's Enchiladas with rice and refried beans, and a margarita that he could have filled a swimming pool with. I appreciated the fact that there were calorie counts right on the menu, clear and bold for everyone to see. It made a real difference for me in what I ordered. Mama's "skinny" enchiladas did not taste at ALL skinny! They were really, really good and filling - plenty of chicken, spicy sauce and tender tortillas. The Mexican rice was good, though it could have used some more veggies and a little bit of spice. The chile mashed potatoes were just, eh, okay - I did expect a little more punch out of them, but overall they weren't bad. The enchiladas were definitely the highlight of my meal, as they should have been. SHM liked his platter as well. I tried his margarita - not impressed. I don't think I like them with salt on the rim, it was a big shock to me (my first time) and it ruined the overall taste. The chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal was a nice touch. I wish their salsa was a bit spicier, but it's easily remedied with the hot sauce they leave on your table. Total price for two was 30 dollars, about on par with what we expected. I actually didn't know this was a chain, as it's the only one I've ever seen. But it's pretty good - nothing surprising here, and everything we expected. If you're looking for "genuine, authentic Mexican" - it's not here. If you're looking for good Tex-Mex flavors, though, that IS here. We'd return. Tip for Diabetics: A quick glance at the nutritional menu online should tell you all you need to know. My platter (the enchiladas, Mexican rice and potatoes) was surprisingly not that carb-heavy, considering what it is - only 62 carbs total. Still, if you're not in control, that spells disaster, so be careful. Avoid the desserts completely - the only thing here that isn't over 90+ carbs is the one scoop of vanilla ice cream (NOT FRIED) and if you're going to have that, you'd do better to get it elsewhere. As always.... Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor. YMMV. Seek medical advice and tailor my review to your situation. I simply provide opinion.

We have been coming to this location for years, and we have always loved it. I always get the fajitas which are awesome, and my sister and mother love their chicken quesadillas so much that all other quesadillas they try are compared to Don Pablos'. I love the environment, and have never had a problem with the staff.

I've gotten drinks and food here and have been happy with all. The food is kind of heavy, and you definitely need to be careful with salt . . . but I think it's a fun place to go after work. You can be loud (it's noisy in there) or you can just people watch. I can always get a good amount of food for what I pay, especially in comparison to other places. Go here if you want some Mexican food that is better than your basic Taco Bell variety.

For American-style Mexican food, this place is a disappointment. In general, the food was way to salty and the presentation was poor. Somewhat good was the service and passable margarita. Other than that, I would pass on this place

I went there on a friday night, have been plenty of times. I was originally at chilis where it was a 45 minute wait, so i called don pablos at the other end of the avenue, they told me it would be about 25 to 30 minutes, so the girl put my name on the waiting list. We get down there, get our buzzer and wait with everyone else. Well, an hour goes by, the couple next to us asks us how long we've been waiting, they had just walked in, and we said an hour but we did a call ahead. The couple said they just also did a call ahead before they walked in and about ten minutes later they were seated. I was heated! So i went up the girl aking why that couple was taken before us, she didnt know, she had to ask the guy, dont know if he was a manager or what but he was in a blue dress shirt. She comes back gives me some bs excuse so i exchange words with this guy and he gets an attitude tells me i have a shitty phone bc my time says different than his. WRONG BUDDY! do not insult me bc your girls wrote down the wrong time! Now i work in customer service so i know thats not acceptable! The point of my review is, i know its the weekend and its busy and your walk in restaurant but DO NOT tell your customers its going to be 25 minutes when its really an hour! It is better to say its going to be more from the start, i wouldnt have been so upset. Then we finally get called, he says i got a real nice booth, (like that helps) we exchange more words then he wants to cop another attitude as were walking away and say to the girl, "I CAN'T HELP IT!" i heard you buddy, ugh it was very bad customer service! However, our waitress was pretty good.

This can be a great place but be careful what you order. It's a Tex-Mex restaurant so prepare yourself for más queso (more cheese). They do nachos really well. I believe their burritos and tacos are also good. Order what they specialize in and you should be fine. ^^ Also, their white sangria was really good if you like sweet drinks. I would good back for more cheese. ^-^ The environment is also nice and friendly. Ask your waiter or waitress what they like and they'll tell you the truth.

I first tried this place on my very first night in Maryland four years ago and haven't been back until now. One word: terrible The salsa is pretty bad. The white queso was ok, but that is hard to mess up. I ordered the chicken chimichanga, and it tasted like frozen Mexican food from the grocery store. My date got a burrito bowl, and I wish I went his route. I had a bite, and it was ok, however Chipotle is much better. The service was alright. I didn't get a water refill the whole time, but my date got coke refills. What the heck?! The interior reminded me of a warehouse, which I found kind of strange.

I usually eat at the bar. Love the fact the lunch bartender remembers my order each time I am there. Fantastic margaritas. If you like spicy food, be sure to ask for the hot salsa. It has a little more flavor than the everyday salsa.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
