This is the perfect small town diner. Very friendly. Clean. Good prices. It's a diner, not a upscale restaurant, so some of the food is boxed (think Mac and cheese). They fries were great. Rest of food very good. We will be back

Nothing special here. I ordered the lamb gyro platter, and the lamb looked like it little flat sausages rather than actual lamb meat. The Greek salad was good, and helped fill the otherwise lacking pita. I was hoping to be consoled by the french fries, but those were lacking as well. How can a diner mess up fries? On the plus side, the restaurant was very clean and the staff was very courteous.

Our meal was nothing worth going back for, but the place is clean and I suspect if you search there are some gems on the menu. The guy next to us had the fried chicken and that looked pretty good. I got the pork loin and sauerkraut special. I was hoping for that home cooked goodness where a pork loin simmers in kraut all day and everything is moist and delicious. What I got was thinly sliced bland pork served over kraut that tasted like it was burning in the sauce pan. Came with mashed potatoes, veggies and soup or salad for $9. So for the price I guess you can't complain, but I'd rather pay $12, skip the salad and get a thick chunk of moist pork. My son got the kid cheeseburger for $5, w/o drink. He liked it, no complaints there. They seemed to be doing a lot of take-out pizza business, so maybe that's worth trying or follow the advice of other reviews and go for breakfast. That's where diners shine. The place is very clean and colorful inside. Two big flatscreen TVs. Someone put some time into the inside which is nice and wasn't expected based on the outside. It's worth a stop if you trip over it and need to eat. Nothing awful. Service is friendly. If you don't get out often, I'd continue down 40/355/70 and you'll hit a lot more options. Funny conversation with the waitress... "I'll have the pork special" "Soup or Salad?" "I'll have the French Onion." "It only comes with the soup of the day." "Can you just charge me the difference? I'd like the French Onion." "No. I don't have a button for that." "Okay, well do what you have to. I'll have the French Onion." "You'll get charged for it." "Fine."

Little hole in the wall with such charm! Stopped there after a day at Antietam Battlefield. The food was wonderful, had the Ruben sandwich and fries, cooked the way I like it. Waitress was personable and kept our drinks full. Five of us ate there and walked out full and satisfied for 50 bucks. Don't judge a book by the cover with this joint, step inside and you'll be pleasantly surprised!!!

Yes it is a quaint nice place and the waitress was nice; but 2 tvs on the news on a Sunday morning does not appeal to me. So sad I had to leave and find another place. Sorry, just don't want to listen to a television when dining out.

my wife and I come here EVERY Sunday AM for breakfast. This small, quaint, hole in the wall diner has great food and service with a smile. the wait staff all know us by name and greet us when we walk in the door. its just nice to have simple home-town service. ***UPDATE*** the owners of this diner are now in Myersville. The new ownership of the one if Frederick is horrible. Dont confuse the two!

Stopped by on our way to Wisp. Let us change the channel to watch the basketball game! Pretty decent burgers for a diner.

I'm updating my review for the Old Town Dinner. This place has changed management several times over the years. The most recent gave some promise. They started with good, fresh cook food but over the past several months, the quality of the food, service and value have plummeted to a new low. We live locally in town and have dinned there over the years because of it being the only restaurant in town. However, we have noticed over time portions have been cut, and the quality of food being delivered has become substandard. The staff are aloof (or just don't care) to any problems or complaints and obviously do not quality control before delivering your meal. For example (and I have many) I was brought a salad that was FROZEN. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she took it from me and put it in the MICROWAVE (with obvious disastrous results) and then brought it back to me. She gave me an attitude when I asked for a fresh salad. This morning I ate there and was delivered bacon that was obviously days old. I have resolved not to return. What is sad is that they are right next door to an Amish market that could partner with them to provide fresh products. It is obvious they are cutting corners, lowering quality, and keeping staff that simply don't care. Judging by the empty seats, other locals agree and I imagine that they will not be in business for any additional length of time. So sad when they could have so much potential.

I love this place - if purely for the convenience factor - since there is not much else available in Myersville. The staff is very friendly. The quality and price of food is great. Breakfast is by far the best meal. The sandwiches, burgers, salads and dinners are all good. Again, it's a small diner. I would not go into diner to order a seafood platter! (I've actually had the crab cakes, they are not bad. Not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst)

I came in this past Saturday night with my Mom. I ordered the Gyros, which was average and very skimpy on the meat and ingredients, and to me bland. My mother ordered the B.L.T. sandwich and ordered it on Rye, which she does everywhere. Let me tell you, this is the first place EVER that my mom and I ordered this sandwich that charges .65 extra for Rye Bread, and we have ordered a B.L.T many places. Service was average, but could of been better. I will not return.

I wouldn't return - food was overcookdd, bland, frozen or canned vegetables. I had open faced turkey - meat moist, mashed potatoes near Liquid and drowned in bland gravey. Green beans awful. Friend had chicken fried steak - reported breading tasty but just a big piece of steak, not pounded, thin, hard to eat. hash potatoes good. Waitress attentive but would someone train servers after clearing dishes, cleaning tables who wants to drink from a glass when waitress serves in from the lip rather holding the bottom of the glass. She meant well-and feel for her to make a living in low priced items and a place like this!

Second location in Myersville. Bad food, poor service and expensive for the terrible food we received. Three sad little shrimp, three scallops the size of buttons and over cooked were the only part of the disappointing meal. The order was also wrong when dessert came. The steak had more gristle and fat than steak. The meal was truly pathetic. Our neighbor had warned us, but we had to try it for ourselves.

Until last Friday, I would have given the Old Town Diner in Myersville 3 or 4 stars. For the past couple years, my friend and I have been going there for coffee or lunch about once every two to three months, and occasionally, I would eat there with my family. The coffee's not that great but it's a more comfortable option than the other eating establishments in our small town- McDonalds, Burger King and Subway. The food and the service have been pretty good. No complaints. The portions are generous, and we almost always need "to-go" boxes. After our experience last Friday, I'm not sure I'll ever go back. On the eve of our son's graduation, several family members came to town. We met up at the diner for dinner. Except for my mother, the rest of us had eaten at the diner before and always had a decent meal. At this dinner, six of us ordered off the menu while three of us ordered the buffet. Those of us who ordered from the menu had no complaints about our food. My fried chicken was tasty and had a crisp skin. My daughter enjoyed and open-faced roast beef even though she said the beef gravy way too salty. (I've had the same sandwich and I agree, but it seems like salty beef gravy is the norm at diners.) Everyone enjoyed their french fries. We had excellent service from our waitress. I forget her name, but she's easy to identify right now as she is noticeably pregnant. The problem was the buffet food. My oldest son, who has a big appetite and doesn't have the pickiest palate (he even likes camp food), ate very little of any of the entrees he took from the buffet. I tried a bite of his seafood alfredo and understood why. Watery and bland. It had shrimp and scallops in it. After tasting a bite of a scallop, I didn't think it was wise to sample the shrimp. My mother, who was ravenous after traveling all day from Florida and having not had lunch, also rejected most of what she took from the buffet, including the seafood alfredo. At the end of the long table, my brother-in-law appeared to be wolfing down his food from the buffet, but when my husband asked him how it was, he said, "This is the worst stuff I've ever eaten". The men in our family seem to have iron stomachs, but my mother certainly does not. During the graduation ceremony the next day, my mother became ill. Her condition grew worse quickly and she wound up spending the entire rest of the day and evening, while the rest of us celebrated my son's graduation, suffering through what was obviously a textbook case of food poisoning. We can't prove it was what she ate at the diner that made her sick, but given the timing and circumstances, it is what a reasonable person would deduce. In our minds, it was the food at the Old Town Diner that ruined my widowed mother's solo trip up to Maryland to see and celebrate her grandson's graduation.

We came in today around 330pm, place was OK, as soon as our food come, they start mopping floors with so strong chlorine chemicals we couldn't breath! Very nice way to treat customers....

Just returned from a long bike ride with my wife and wanted a good hot meal......the End!! I have seen this diner before and decided to try it. I got the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatos and my wife got the turkey. First of all - it took twenty minutes or more for the food to come and then it was luke warm at best - more like cold!!! The waitress yelling for change in the kitchen identifed the cook as Jose!! Obviously the "A" team that was cooking when all these other good reviews were written was not on the premises. My wife is a forgiving person but she even said "NEVER AGAIN!!!! Mcdonalds would of been better than this!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
