Subs were very good, service was quick and good; one seating side was open and other side empty...so busy but not crowded. The two waitresses there were nice but not what I would call friendly. The food was good enough that we'd go back, but hope for a bit happier staff.

The food here has been very good and reasonably priced. The dining room is okay, service good. I believe they are working on a nicer dining area in the space next to them. Their pizza is very good, the proper ratio of crust, tender, chewy and crisp, sauce and toppings. It is BYOB, which is really nice. They will give you a corkscrew and wine glasses. The subs are large and come with a side of salad or fries. What they lack in ambiance they make up for with a decent meal. Carry out is also good.

Veggie Pizza w/ red sauce. Yumm-Oh! I've found my new carry-out mecca! That is all.

Everybody asked for a different entree (6 of us). All of us were very satisfied with our food and service. There was only one waiter and still he rendered a great service. Prices are very good and quantities are generous.

I absolutely love this place Need some caveats before you read my reviews. I have never dined IN the restaurant (carry-out for me only) and I have never tried their pizza. That being said, I have tried a few of their dishes and I have never ever been disappointed. My husband loves their Philly steak w/ cheese, and my first time I got something called a Mignon B.L.T. (omg YUM). I've tried a few of their appetizers and some of their pastas, and again, never disappointed. I would highly recommend their food to anyone looking for a great quick meal.

Our go to place in Mt Airy for good pizza. Ordered their gluten free pizza and it was really good. They now allow you to order gluten free pasta, for an extra price. I haven't tried it yet, but can't wait. They're Caesar salad is very good too. I use to always order the calzones, they were very good...can't anymore cause I'm Gluten free, but you won't be disappointed. Update - tried the gluten free White pizza. Absolutely the best white pizza I have ever had, no kidding. I can only guess the regular white pizza is just as good. My new favorite pizza!

5 stars for their delicious Caesar salad. I'm always skeptical about salads from pizza joints (I didn't realize its a restaurant since my husband picks up the food). 4 stars for the good but not amazeballs pizza. I like the BYOB part. We may have to make a dine-in visit one evening when we have no dinner plans.

Best pizza in Mount Airy - perhaps in a hundred-mile radius!

Came here because of the reviews. The restaurant didn't disappoint. Wow. Wow wow. Pizza? Great! Meatball sub? Great! Manicotti? Great! Fries? Great! Caesar salad? Great! If I lived closer, I'd be fat. Happily fat. Our server, Stacy was on the ball and very attentive. She got a bonus tip.

My wife and I had a late lunch / early dinner at Mamma Angela last week. It was our first visit, and we were really impressed! The restaurant is larger than it appears from the outside. The dining area wasn't crowded when we went in, so it was easy to get our choice of seats. Our waiter, Paul, was talkative and very helpful. He turned out to get a large tip for his excellent service. My wife ordered a calzone and I ordered the chicken parmesan. We also ordered a large salad to share - it was very fresh and so delicious! You need to skip a meal before going to Mamma Angela, or plan to take food home with you. Their portions are huge, and the quality and flavor of the food was excellent! The only minor exception was my garlic toast, which was dry and hard. No problem, I had enough other food to eat, so I didn't really need it. One strange quirk with this place is only one unisex bathroom. At least it was kept clean and well stocked, so not a big problem since the place wasn't too crowded when we were there. We plan to make Mamma Angela one of our regular meeting places for friends and family who come to visit from out of town.

Good food even though its kind of slow. It's a nice place to grab a bite to eat just be prepared to wait a little bit for the food if they are busy.

Blah, I really don't like this place, and it was made worse because I had to eat the food all the time. I'll be honest, it definitely trumps Dominoes and Papa Johns, the other Mount Airy pizza establishments (lol). It's still pretty bad though.

Thank you Yelp. I finally found decent food because of you. It can get busy in there and I've learned that I'm more likely to have my order correctly prepared if I restate it at the end. They give you numbers for your order and get it prepared in a reasonable amount of time. They happily are BYOB.

Mama Angela's is my favorite place for pizza in this area hands down. My family and I have been regulars here since shortly after they opened and not once have we left disappointed. Our favorite is the new York style pizza, and we also really like their bruschetta as well. The house creamy Italian salad dressing is also really good. The only thing more I could hope for is if they would deliver to where I live. The staff has always been extremely courteous, and they always recognize us when we go in, going out other way to say hello, even if they aren't serving us that night. The owner is also very nice, even letting us buy some of their pizza dough to take home when we mentioned we were planning a pizza party at home that weekend. It's nice to see that they draw a real good crowd, as I hope to see them around for quite some time. Very glad we found this place!

A little tough to find (in the shopping center behind the McDonalds) but what a great restaurant. This has become my favorite Mt Airy restaurant. I absolutely love their steak and cheese sub, the bread is delicious. My companion has gotten the chicken chesapeake over angel hair pasta and thinks is is divine (Chicken with a rose sauce over pasta and topped with crab meat). I haven't tried the pizza but my teens really loved it. I love their specials that include sandwhich, choice of fries, coleslaw or salad and a soda. Prices seem great to me. We will keep coming! The only thing I wish were different is that they would deliver. I would order pizza and subs from them all the time.

Sigh...at one time I gave this restaurant 4 stars...until tonight. The family and I have always celebrated birthdays at this family friendly establishment. Today was a disaster. We made a reservation for 10 adults and 5 children. The majority of our order was incorrect, but more importantly sporadic. Half our table received their food 20 minutes after ordering and the other half 40 minutes later. The kids received there meals as we were getting ready to leave. When we calmly discusse the inaccuracies and delays with the owner, he became very rude and defensive. He said, "we are very busy; what do you want me to do?" We responded," any other restaurant would comp the meals that never arrived or discount the meals that were inaccurate." He responded, "I can not do that, I'm trying to run a business, that would be a $50 loss. I will comp the tables sodas" We have had over a dozen family birthday dinners at the restaurant and we will never return again. The overall experience was disastrous to say the least. This was once, in my opinion, the ultimate find in Italian dinning. Now, the owner has lost our business forever. It's unfortunate that our issues could not be resolved in a professional way.

The only pizza in Mt Airy that i would eat... This place is quick and delicious. They have some specialty pizzas like the eggplant parmigiana which no one else has, and they just seem to do everything else better and have a wider variety of toppings. I also enjoy the white pizza... I have eaten here a dozen times and have yet to be let down.

Went here with my wife for lunch. Service was very good. Pizza was excellent. Tasted a little different, but in a good way. Crust was the difference for me. It is definitely on par with J&P's, just depends on your taste. Garlic bread was also very good. I would definitely eat here again

There is not a single restaurant that was on our list/off our list/on our list as many times as this one. Thankfully, we kept giving them more chances. (In the past, we've had a disastrous 4 cheese pizza that had so much sharp Gorgonzola, it was like biting into a block of blue cheese, and a thick Sicilian pizza that was so thick it hurt our jaws to chew it). But we've perfected our order: We like the pizza with feta, fresh mozzarella, and eggplant. The sauce is different from most places; I'm not sure how, but it is. The last few times we've gone, the crust has been splendid, with just the right mix of crunch and chew. Up until about a month ago, we cited this place as having the best fries out there. Always hot, crisp on the outside, and airy on the inside. They've changed their brand, unfortunately. They're still hot, they're still crunchy, but they have a new flavor to them. We still like these fries a lot (4/5, down from 5/5). We rarely get anything besides the pizza, but I have to say, the other meals look very good. The service is friendly and it's good to see the owner frequently there and working the pizza oven. The place can be nearly empty and sometimes it's very crowded. Overall, here's what it is: a very good pizza joint that ventures successfully into more elegant meals as well.

My husband and I had the New York style pizza and it was amazing! They have a unique but delicious take on real deal sliced sausage for a topping. Italy encompasses everything from the food to the mural on the wall to the fun-fact placemats. Can't wait to go back and try something else!

Easily the best pizza in town. The subs are a little "run of the mill", but they're still really good. The staff is pleasant and always happy to see you. They really appreciate your patronage and it's one of the reasons we keep going back.

Best pizza in town. Favorite is chicken pesto; least favorite was the seafood, but can't complain since we just removed the very thick layer of seafood & ate it on the side. The deep dish could have more cheese. The atmosphere is "nice pizza joint" The kids who work the counter & servers are all very respectful & efficient. We often choose this place for carry out when some want pizza, but others may want other things, like subs, salad or a more fancy pasta dish.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
