It's as if (with exceptional exception for the crab cakes) they went up the street to Walmart and raided the frozen food section. But the crabcake is good...not great, but good. When I have nothing in the house, I'll order a broiled crab cake wrap. The chips that come with it are always stale.

Food I have had here is very good. Mainly shrimp salad sandwich and sweet potato fries. Friendly local bar. Bartenders a re very friendly and locals are friendly. Good place to watch a game and they have Keno plus cold beer. Nice neighborhood bar.

Excellent food, steak and crab cake, good service, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend, had no wait when there was a 2 hour wait down the street.

Menu is limited and the food is decent. This place is good for light meals, lunch and pub food. They used to have the best french fries but recently switched to standard nasty ones. They also recently opened a steamhouse for crabs, but haven't had them yet. Cheese-steaks are good. Don't order their sliders, you will be dissapointed. Wings are pretty bad too. Service is mediocre. The Utter Bar upstairs is pretty good, good music from time to time, jukebox, TV's, good atmosphere. It is the best place close to me in Middle River so I frequent it a lot.

We went there tonight since I had a certificate for $50, wow, what a loss. I order the calamari, which tasted like frozen calamari dipped in chicken fried steak batter and served with a nice marinera sauce. The sauce was better than the calamari. I also ordered the steak and cake with a salad and baked potato. The steak was the fattiest piece of meat I have EVER been served and was BLAND! I actually ate the decorative orange peel on my plate since it had more flavor than the steak. Hey cook have you ever heard of seasoning your meat? It was interesting that there was some old bay sprinkled on the plate and none on the crabcake at all. The crabcake was moist and actually quite good. However, the baked potato was BLAND! no seasoning of a salt rub or anything before cooking. Even the house salad, which was big in size was made up of a head of lettuce that was barely cut into pieces. This was the first time I had to use a knife and fork to cut up a salad EVER! If your looking for a decent meal, go up 1 block and down to the end of the street to the Wild Duck cafe. The menu has a bigger selection and the cook there seems to care about the food they serve. Long Beach leaves its customers drydocked in between 2 roads, waiting for service and properly cooked food.

The food was just okay so I'm giving the Long Beach Restaurant & Tavern 3 stars. I read the yelp reviews saying the only good thing here was the crab cakes so my whole party of 5 got a crab cake one way or the other. It took forever for our food to arrive but it seemed busy that night. There were some shells in the crab cake meat so that was instantly bad. There is nothing like crunching on a crab cake, it gives me the chills. Most of my party had shells in their crab cakes and as we got into the middle, there was a lot of filler. The fries were really good though. Sit out on the deck/tiki bar or enjoy the live music inside. 3 stars but no more than that at this place

If you like stale dinner rolls and fishy tasting shrimp this is the place for you. At the price you pay here the least you should expect is fresh food. You will be disappointed here. Service was decent and the mussels were good, but should have been served with garlic toast to sop up the sauce. Overall, not worth the price. Stick to the bar.

Ordered the nachos, for almost $9 I expect a decent plate of nachos. What you get is a big handful of chips that are soggy by the time they get to your table with some cheap chili, lukewarm cheese sauce, some good jalapeños, and a lot of olives. Decent selection of beers, otherwise I would say avoid this place. If you want a couple drinks and a nice environment this is the place to come. If you want something to eat run from this place. I am definitely in agreement with the person who said they buy theur food from the local Walmart.

Ownership has changed a few times. The current owner is trying... but somethings have slipped. The good news is that most of the seafood selections remain consistent and that's what I go for. On any given night, any fish, from flounder to tiplapia to rockfish etc... is absolutely delicious. I always get it stuffed with the crab imperial and it's always perfect. A large portion fit for a king. For something different try the seafood skins. Some of the other dishes remind me of a diner... but if you're looking for some very good seafood dishes, this is worth the trip.

The food always seems to be very consistent and good. We are locals and love the original wait staff before the new owner took over. The newer wait staff is a little cocky. For a small local place you have to get to know the locals. We go back for the good food and convenient location.

After visiting several times since the Super Bowl without getting ill, I feel I should update my review. We like the atmosphere in the top side bar for games. While the restaurant side is open, it's very... subdued? How do I say this... there tend to be 5 or 6 people tops down there. Go upstairs. But get there early to make sure you get seating.
