The staff was very friendly but sadly did not make up for the food. The crab legs were really dry and not meaty. The cream of crab soup was super thick, it looked like white sausage gravy, disappointed...

The service here is always great! I always feel at home when I am here. Mostly come here for the crabs, best in the area! The other menu items are delicious as well, I love the oysters on the half shell, too bad they are not in season. Sandwiches and sides taste great, everyone needs to try the hush puppies! I just can't brag on them enough ... try them out for yourself!

EVERYTHING we ordered was EXCELLENT. The service was wonderful from very friendly waitresses. Crab Truffles appetizer came out first which was tasty. Cream of Crab soup & oyster stew was next.....BOTH were delicious!! My girlfriend & I shared the Seafood Combination plate for $21.99 which was plenty of shrimp, oysters, clam strips, fish, & a large crab cake. Even with drinks the bill was $60.00 The place was busy for a 12:30 lunch. Omg I am so full hours later. I am from CA & this was a local MD crowd here. Definitely a seafood repeat if I'm traveling through again........5 Stars 4 Foxy Fish!!

Excellent dining experience here. The decor was really nice; it was fresh and clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly & attentive. The blackened and fried haddock were exceptional and reasonably priced $$. The cream of crab soup was very creamy unlike any I've ever had. Great place for a Family lunch or night out for dinner.

This is a great place, my husband and I stopped in on a whim and what a wonderful experience. Not only is the food fresh but my husband is Gluten Free and they went out of there way to accommodate him. The owner & chef came to the table and introduced herself asked what she could do for us and she ended up make ing from scratch a wonderful crab cake lunch for him. Everyone must try the appetizer crab truffles these little fried crab and cheese balls were pure heaven, this has become an instant favorite for us, also the cosmos we had were some of the best ever made, our waitress put so much love in them - completely amazing- Next time we are going for hard crabs , yumm

Whiting was suppose to be the "Catch of the Day" and we ordered it. I have eaten whiting for 50 years. I've never had a Whiting before that was this oily or fishy tasting. It tasted more like Blue Fish. Also had a dark streak running down it. I am not Marine biologist but neither am I naive. Would a SOMD fish place do a switcheroo? Either another fish or old fish which is also a no-no. My taste buds says another fish. Order something you can clearly ID, like shrimp. The place is not fancy but neat & clean inside. Our server, Jennifer, was very pleasant. Beer prices very reasonable. Two fish sandwich meal were $25 with 2 beers. You can play Keno here. The place was quiet but we ate after lunch & before dinner hours. I won't go back even though I like supporting local businesses.

Dinner exceeded our expectations...we were trying to find a good place to eat after discovering the one we wanted to go to was closed. We happened on the Foxy Fish and we are so glad we did. The fried oyster and fried shrimp dinners were delicious and the oysters were done perfectly. The onion rings were also delicious and done will without too much better. Our waitress, Tori, was really good and attentive. I'd mentioned on our way into the restaurant that it was my husband's birthday the next day and that we were celebrating by spending a few days in Southern MD. They surprised John with a sundae with a candle in it and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. It really made his night! Thanks so much for the excellent time.

We had a party of three and each dish was delicious. The appetizer of the crab stuffed potatoes was just an excellent start to a fantastic dinner. The staff was friendly and very attentive with the owner coming to personally check on how our dinner was. Great food at a great price served by great staff..get the point this is a great place to eat in the southern Md area.

We stopped by on our way home after a day on the water. It seemed like a good place to get some seafood, and the reviews were good. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed: everything was fried, fried, fried. Now, this might have just been what we ordered: the sampler appetizer and an order of fish and chips. I wanted to try the crab truffles, and he wanted hush puppies and chicken tenders, so we compromised with the appetizer (which included crab truffles, hush puppies, chicken tenders, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks) and shared both plates. They brought out a plate of sauces with our food, which was fun (ranch, marinara, garlic butter, cocktail sauce, tarter sauce, honey mustard, ketchup, and remoulade sauce). The crab truffles were good and definitely tasted of fresh, sea-salty crab. The onion rings were thick and delicious. The fish in the fish and chips were small pieces, but pretty fresh and tasty. However, halfway through the meal I was de-breading everything I could (including the fish and onion rings). Just too much grease for me! On the plus side, the drinks were cheap ($3 for their premium beers) and we were both stuffed. The meal was reasonably priced, the decor was cute and beachy, and the service was fantastic. Great little local spot. We will probably stop by again, but only when we are in the area and craving something deep fried.

We have been eating at Foxy Fish since right after it opened this past Spring. First of all, what a nice re-do of the interior of this old building! As the months have passed, the management has added things on the wall to help with keeping noise levels down and add to the feel of it being a seafood restaurant. The menu caters to seafood lovers, but there are several meals on their for those who don't like to eat anything but beef or chicken. Prices are very reasonable. In my opinion, the best meals on the menu are steamed shrimp, broiled crab cake, hushpuppies, cream of crab soup and the best surprise is the shrimp scampi! Service has always been great! Rest rooms are clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We have taken friends there who live in NVa and they loved the food. Take some time to enjoy the food and the friendly servers/management. In my opinion, if that is what a SOMD restaurant is like, I'll take it any day!

We ended up at The Foxy Fish because the reviews on yelp were pretty good. We are locals and were looking for something close-by and quick. Our local restaurant selection is pretty slim. The positive was that service was very good and friendly. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I ordered pan-seared scallops with cole slaw and a side salad. My honey ordered fried oysters with a soft shell crab, mac&cheese and a side salad. My pan-seared scallops came out floating in a bowl of butter/grease. Of course, I ordered them pan-seared, as opposed to broiled or fried, to limit the fat. The scallops tasted good, despite all of the grease they were floating in, however, I am left with a very unwelcome aftertaste, probably from the oil. Cole slaw was good and salad was as expected, maybe a little on the small side. My honey said that his fried oysters seemed over-fried, and the breading had a hard consistency/crunch to it. It was hard for him to get over the batter, as it overpowered the taste of the oysters. The fried softshell crab was over-fried to the point that the taste was burnt and bitter. Overall taste was just OK. Mac & Cheese was good and salad was typical. The acoustics of The Foxy Fish are a little tough. It is very loud and echo-y, and with a Saturday night St. Mary's County local crowd, it was outrageously loud. Couple this with having set in the center of the room, with a huge distance between me and honey (two little tables put together, both seated at the ends), and dinner conversation between us was nearly impossible (and I am loud, and he could not hear me). If you are looking to have a quiet dinner, this is probably not your place.... I gave The Foxy Fish 3 stars because it was not bad, and not the best. I think, when I go back, and I probably will, I will try something a little different...maybe a steak. Prices are good, service is friendly and attentive, the restaurant is clean and well kept. They just need to tweak their fried food batter and not soak seared scallops in oil or butter.

The Foxy Fish is a family operated and orientated restaurant. The atmosphere is very warm and welcome...Customers are made to feel at home with the friendly staff and management, no complaints or compliments will go unanswered. There is always a manager or the owner (Debbie) available. The restaurant is always clean, the food is always hot and cooked to perfection. The menu variety caters to different likes and tastes. There are lunch and dinner specials each day, appetizer specials, dessert specials and while you are enjoying your food in this relaxing atmosphere, you can play keno and/or watch one of the 4 televisions. The prices are very reasonable and you surely get your $$$ worth. The Foxy Fish enjoys being a part of the community and in fact on October 19, 2013 is holding their 2nd corn hole tournament to benefit a young lady named Colleen, who is in need of a double lung transplant, everybody is welcome to come and join in. Debbie is always open to suggestions about differnt foods, flavors or things the customers would like to see available. The goal of the entire staff, is to make sure each and every customer has a pleasent, fulfilling and very satisfying time.

This place is typical SOMD which is both a compliment and not. Like most places down here the waitresses are friendly but have not been trained in what good service means. For example if a patron has a fork on an appetizer plate covered in used napkins don't ask him to dig it out. Take the plate away and just get a new fork. The food is also typical for the area, well fried but overbreaded, slow to the table, but fresh. Bathroom cleanliness was on the poor side. For a five pm dinner I would expect the bathroom to have been cleaned before dinner service.
