Haven't been to their Mt. Washington location but even so I am confident in saying that this location has the best parking. Food is delicious. I would literally devour any roll on the menu. They use fresh, REAL blue crab in most rolls. Never had a bad experience here. My favorite is the Bruce Roll!

Sushi is delicious with a large variety and selection on menu. Decor is nice as well. The big issue is with the service. While it was friendly and professional, they understaff. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night and I believe they only had one waitress working. They needed 2, maybe 3 based on the amount of patrons. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Once we got it, we were pleased. If they fix this, I'd give them 5 stars.

I've been to Sushi Hana a few times in the Timonium-Lutherville area. The sushi has been pretty consistent, along with the sub par service. THE GOOD... -sushi is pretty good -average variety of maki rolls -easy parking -plenty of seating THE BAD... -the service is less to be desired...and at times abysmal -water refills are slow -last server was very awkward...didn't even start off with hello -hostesses I've observed are not very professional and will text on their phones at the front -some rolls aren't priced....stupid! Overall Sushi Hana is the kinda place you go to when Yamato has too long of a wait. But with that said, I'd even roll up to Edo in Cockeysville. Check this place out if ya want, but have low expectations on service so you're not disappointed!

NO. This is the tv dinner of sushi places. Filler...no taste...takes longer than expected. And imo, over priced.

Eeeeeeew!! The California roll which should basically be a lock for any sushi eater, is pretty much filler- very little crab/flavor. The Yum Yum roll...NOT according to the recipe at all. Inedible if you are not the type to take a gamble on raw mystery meat. The "triple seafood bisque" is NOT bisque. In addition, the ingredients that go into this glop are packaged separately... You will get 1 shrimp, something kinda, sorta scallop like and a couple asparagus. Even once you blend it yourself, it tasted like a bland Lipton cup o soup. The "paradise" roll?? Tasted like bland chicken. Much better sushi available at the standard grocery store FOR LESS than this place has to offer:(

I absolutely LOVE their food. Very tasty made to special order if necessary. The Bruce Roll is amazing. Lump crab meat, shrimp tempura, avacado. Great environment, clean, friendly service.

We usually go to the Towson location, but since we were in Hunt Valley for a meeting, we went here for dinner. The service was a little lacking, since we were put off to a side room and almost forgotten, but the food was incredible. Everyone in my party (there were 6 or 7 of us) loved their sushi rolls and sides.

This is a beautiful, modern space. It's tucked in the corner of the Ridgely Shopping Center and a great addition to dining in Lutherville and Timonium. We started off with vegetable tempura. The tempura was hot out of the fryer, so the vegetables were cooked through and the exterior was lightly crispy. It seemed like everything was very hot including the green tea. We ordered a la carte from the sushi menu. They had basic rolls and unique rolls and priced well. I was surprised by the size of the rolls - really big stuffed rolls. We indulged in the salmon, eel, spicy tuna, Double Spicy, and Ravens Roll. The Ravens Roll was really great. It was eel, shitake mushrooms and shrimp. It had such a meaty feel and flavor. What a nice surprise. They are working on a liquor license so it's BYOB right now. You can stop by at Button's Liquors which is just a few doors down.

I happened to stumble across this new Sushi Hana earlier today while driving through the shopping center. While the sushi is great, the restaurant's advertising for its "grand opening" was pretty pathetic so it's no wonder it was essentially empty the hour and a half my party and I were there. I've always been a fan of Sushi Hana in Towson and was excited when they opened one closer by my home in Mount Washington and now they've added Lutherville into the mix! This new location opened yesterday so it was evident that the server my party and I had was still getting the swing of things but she was incredibly eager, helpful and friendly. Both managers on duty came by to greet us at some point during the meal and the chefs behind the bar were welcoming. The sushi was just as delicious as it is at both of the other Sushi Hana locations. It offers a variety of unique sushi rolls as well as all of the basics and some tasty dinner options. I've never been to any of the locations for lunch, but there are a number of great deals (i.e. $10 for combination platter of sushi, soup, salad, and rice) if you're dining before 3pm. Though I planned to get sushi (as I usually do), I instead chose to get a dinner combination of soft shell crab tempura that came with miso soup, a salad and rice-- a great choice. My fellow diners were equally happy with their meals-- three vegetarian rolls came to less than $14 for one friend which was especially pleasing. This new location does not yet have its liquor license so it's BYOB (for now). Conveniently enough, there is a liquor store right next door where you can pick up a bottle of wine if you so please (In my opinion, a cheap bottle of wine split among friends always makes the dinner more enjoyable!). This new Sushi Hana should be a welcomed addition to the Lutherville-Timonium area and is definitely worth stopping by before it gets as crowded as its Towson counterpart!

How'd I not know about this location? Gave up on the Falls Rd Hana after a few so-so experiences and started going exclusively to San Sushi II. But now these guys are the new champs. I came at 1130am on a Monday and the staff was very friendly. The chef was quiet but his sushi is the best. Nigiri was very fresh, well-presented, and in large portions. Sham Shan roll was amazing.

Been a long time fan of Sushi Hana in Towson. Was very excited that this location opened in Baltimore County. Sushi is just as good, if not better (really). Parking is free and abundant which makes a carry out run a breeze. Very well decorated inside. It's BYOB which, I think, is a good thing but I'm still not sure. There's a liquor store practically next door so you can pick up an Asahi or sake and head on over. Only problem is that staff friendliness is not consistent. Moreover, I'd love for them to have a system for tracking their regulars. Some acknowledgment, even if it was just a warm and familiar greeting, would be nice (and easy to do).

Sushi Hanna is a awesome gem located now in lutherville, offering sushi and Japanese inspired dishes. Recently opening in the lutherville area they offer some of the freshest quality fish i have ever seen in Maryland sushi rolls. I have been hooked since the first visit; their lunch specials offer a large amount of food for a lot less than you would expect. Miso soup , salad, 6 piece Tuna roll, white rice, bean sprouts, broccoli, a strip of red pepper, all paired with the grilled sliced chicken with teriyaki on the side. This is probably the best value i have gotten for less than $10 per meal combo. When you visit you will see the beautiful quite atmosphere, with dimly lit seating area's, excellent for a romantic night out, or just some piece and quite for dinner. For a chain of local sushi restaurant's I have enjoyed ever visit thus far, I highly recommend them. * BYOB currently.

Good, tasty Japansese food! Service was friendly, but SLOOOOOW!! Seems like they need more waitstaff-- place was crowded and busy, but they only had three people working the floor. And they worked it!! They were running around like crazy-- you had to flag them down to get noticed!! We went basic, since it was our first time, and my son was with me-- he's adventurous, but he's still a kid- only wiling to go so far!! California rolls-- fresh and tasty! Rolled a little loose, though- we had some fall apart-- bu overall a good take on the old standard. Entrees come with soup and salad. Good, tasty, healthy miso soup, chock full of tofu cubes, seaweed, and scallions. MMMM. Salad-- generic iceberg, with this scary-orange thick dressing that tasted like fresh ginger root pureed with vinegar, died scary-bright-Halloween orange (does color change with seasons, maybe?). Dressing was actually really good, and iceberg served as a crisp, cold conveyance. Not bad-- not fancy, but not bad at all. I had seafood tempura. Tempura always sounds so good- but it's really something to share! Huge mound of fried goodness- lots of veggies- squashes, broccoli, asparagus, sweet potato, onion- along with 2 scallops, 2 crab sticks, 2 shrimps, and 2 pieces of fish. Fried lightly and crisply, dipping sauce was bland- actually kind of watery- straight Kikkoman from the table was better. Sooo much fried food- great for first few bites-- but then-- sooooo filling, and so much the same thing over and over. Maybe with a better sauce it would have stayed interesting- but it really would have worked better as an appertizer shared between 3-4 people! Son had chicken teriyaki. That was goooooood!! Thin slices of white-meat chicken pan-fried to a very crispy, golden texture and color, yet still juicy. Some barely cooked veggies as garnish, and a rich, deep, smoky sweet-salty dipping sauce that was addicitve. I liked that all sauces were served on side. Rice had a nice flavor, too- nutty and sticky, perfect foil for richness of meals. No liquor here- Japanese green tea was refreshing! People around us were mostly sticking to sushi and sashimi- not my favorite food, as I find it all tastes like ginger, soy, and wasabi in the end- but I'd be willing to try a few more rolls next time, and stick with teriyaki dishes!!

We tried this place twice and each time had different issues with our dinner. The first time we attempted to have dinner here, the restaurant was packed. We ordered a bunch of veggie rolls and the first thing I noticed was how sloppy they were in their presentation. The ends of each roll looked like something out of The Muppets and the Shitaki rolls were served with a big glob of mushrooms thrown on top of them. I have never seen anything like that before. Taste-wise, everything was decent although I personally didn't like the mushroom rolls. On our first visit our baby started crying and we wanted nothing but to pack up our table and leave but our server was no where to be found. It looked like she was managing all 20 tables and it took her about 10 minutes to finally figure out we needed to leave. That didn't stop us from going back for another visit though. Last night we stopped in at about 4:30 on a Sunday night. The restaurant was empty with the exception of one other table and a couple people at the sushi bar. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop (what happened to the music??) and it was a little bit uncomfortable. We ordered right away and our appetizers came out quickly. 4 minutes into eating them our server (the older lady everyone must be talking about in these reviews) came to our table and started moving our plates around while we were eating. My husband didn't know what was going on as he was mid-bite while she was moving his plate out of the way and announcing that our food was ready. I didn't think it was appropriate to touch our plates while we were still eating. We had ordered a bunch of veggie rolls and the Vegetable Teriyaki. The rolls looked a little bit better than the last time leading me to believe the chefs have a hard time dishing out good looking rolls when it's busy. The Veggie Teriyaki, on the other hand, looked terrible. For $12 they had sauteed a bunch of veggies and thrown 2 or 3 slabs of silken tofu on top of it, accompanied by a very bland sauce in a bowl. First off, anyone who eats tofu knows that Silken is not made to be eaten like that. I mean it wasn't even sauteed- just steamed and slimy. Secondly, the veggies were so bland that to add a bland sauce on top of it was simply painful. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I really wanted to like this place but there is a lack of understanding of restaurant management as well as a lack of elegance in the food presentation.

Shells in the sushi! YIKES!! Shit happens, I get that. But when shit happens, and there is no response or apology, that is unacceptable. When we alerted the waitress that there was a piece of shell we damn near cracked our tooth on in the sushi roll (spicy scallop), the waitress seemed dumbfounded. Her response was to make us another roll. We didn't want another roll at that point, we wanted to get the hell out of there and not have to pay for the roll. She did not offer it free of charge, which I think is not correct. Anwyays, used to love this place, but now I am a little nervous eating there.

Expensive and low quality for the area where we have a sushi place every few blocks. Rolls are heavy on the rice low on fish. All sushi rolls cost a few around 3 dollars more then other places in the area. Roll prices are not even listed on the menu.

To be honest my review is so low based on service alone. The sushi here is better than the Towson location. The atmosphere here is way nicer and cleaner. But the service was horrible!!! Both my husband and I have been in the service industry for 10+ years he is a chef locally and I work the front on house. Being sat and asked our beverage order without being offered any menus at all... Blew my mind! So we opted for the happy hour special which is "2 domestic or 2 sake for $7" and or "$4 off any roll with a sake purchase" i put quotations because you'd think that was the special based on the sign. I posted a picture. But no the server had no idea about it when they were posted everywhere and then followed up with we don't carry domestic beer just Japanese imports. Ok we'll I got it anyways , manager comes by and tells us she was mistaken the hot sake is HH but I need to get 2 for the $7 special... Ok so I did. But once the bill came I ended up paying in full both sakes and received a $4 only discount off a roll. Misleading

Fantastic Sushi! They have an amazing selection of rolls. They are fun, creative and delicious! I could spend an hour just trying to figure out what to get. Everything is fantastic. A few tips- the Tuna/Crab Bomb is not a roll, it is a large mound of crab wrapped in tuna and it is pretty fantastic! I love their "I like that" roll The service is pretty good, nothing crazy. But it is an awesome place to get sushi!

I've been to the Towson site and this is just the latest one to open. I like the ambiance/decor at the Towson store better. The sushi here is just as good as the ones we got in the Towson store, the staff friendly. I agree with Alex here-- for a grand opening it was pretty pathetic not many customers at all. Hopefully the business will pick up there with the word about the restaurant opening. They are still BYOB so if you want alcohol do what other people have done, go next door (or bring your own wine/sake) since they are still pending liquor license.

A bit of disappointment.... this particular sushi restaurant has gone down hill since my last visit a year ago. The service is so SLOW and the waitress seemed like she didn't want to be bothered. She rushed through our order and made several mistakes. However, the sushi was fresh and high quality albeit presentation was a bit sloppy. In other places, when you order a "sushi boat" it typically is layered with plenty of goodies and this one was not (even though the server said it came with everything) -- we felt as if we did not get our money's worth. I was disappointed again when the hot green tea was a "bag" instead of fresh brewed For what you get, (atmosphere, slow service, presentation) it's pricey! There must be a better place for sushi in Timonium.... find one!

Going to think twice about ordering carryout or eating in here. I picked up food tonight to settle in for a long night of grading. The total was 12.72. I received a quarter back. When I questioned my extra 3 cents, I was told "sorry, we don't usually have pennies." I said "Haven't you learned the lesson that a penny saved is a penny earned?" and received a disapproving look. If you don't have pennies, then round up. Hand me a nickel or even another quarter. I would think people in the restaurant business would understand this, particularly one that is BYOB. This attitude is a shame because the place is clean and fresh, which I find rare in Asian eating establishments. Might have to consider a longer drive up the road to Green Leaf where the tempura is much better and those chicken dumplings are to die for.

Came here for lunch with my brother and...yeah, it was not good. We both got lunch specials and he ordered an eel nigiri. The thing still had frost on it from the freezer, and it didn't seem to be worth the effort to get the waitresses attention. Maybe it's better at night but I ain't goin back!

FOOD (4 of 5): -Sushi is top notch, rice cooked well, and fish fresh. I've found the cook to be generous with his fish "allotment" in the rolls. -Ordered a green tea for $2.00. They brought me out a tea bag and cup of hot water... Really? No tea leaves or kettle? SERVICE (2 of 5): Mediocre at best. I'm not a fan of the main lady that runs the dining area. She's always in a rush and never takes any time to chat. Likewise, I they aren't always that attentive. DECOR/AMBIANCE: Well it's a strip mall. But they have done the inside of nicely and they allow you to BYOB. OVERALL - This is a nice place in a sea of sushi restaurants in the Towson and Timonium corridor. I'll add that nothing sets it apart. If the service was more friendly then I might want to make it my "goto" place. Otherwise, I'm looking for a new place.

We were long time patrons of Sushi Hana in Towson, so we were excited when one opened in Lutherville, closer to us. At first everything was great and we were in there at least once a week. Over time the service started going down hill. The food stayed wonderful, but it began taking well over an hour to eat dinner there. The main lady in the dining room always seems flustered and seems to have completely lost control of the restaurant. She is curt, at best, never friendly and often annoyed if you ask her for anything. We began noticing that our favorite servers no longer worked there and that the establishment was down to maybe 3 wait staff, on a good night. It stayed like this for months with no additional wait staff to help out. We would chalk it up to it being a new place, maybe they were having a bad night, etc.,. It never got better. If something was wrong with your order or you needed something, it would be a good 20 minutes before you were able to flag anyone down to help you. We decided to give it one last shot last night b/c there are a few items on the menu that my daughter loves. We arrived at 7:00pm (on a Friday) and there were plenty of empty tables (which is never a good sign on a Friday night in Lutherville). We waited while the couple in front of us got seated (that took around 5 minutes). We then waited while the hostess explained to a woman standing there that yes, she remembers taking her carry out order 30 minutes ago, but she forgot to put it in the computer and could the woman please come back in 20 minutes. She then greeted us, picked up the menus to take us to our table and the phone rang. She asked us to wait 1 minute. She then proceeded to take 3 more phone calls - all carry out orders. We waited and waited. At some point (around 20 minutes later), we realized all of these carry out orders she was taking were going to be filled in the kitchen well before our food would ever be made. That was it for us. We walked out and went to UMI SAKE down the road. Just as a point of reference, Umi Sake was completely packed but they clearly know how to manage a restaurant - we were seated right away and finished our meal within 40 minutes (and it's CHEAPER than Sushi Hana!). Sorry Sushi Hana. We gave you SO many chances and you became much more of a frustration than an enjoyable evening out.
