The bison burger was phenomenal. The bartender was friendly and attentive, remembering my name even though I haven't been in for over a month. 13 beers on tap, at least seven of them local to Calvert county our Maryland. I particularly enjoyed the strongbow on tap, with black currant added at bartenders suggestion. This place has their priorities in order and are ready for whatever you throw at them.

Stopped in for another try on a Friday evening. Menu has been revamped and is now mostly appetizers and burgers, pub food, etc. It was pretty good and we had good service. Not many people were present but it was 8pm. Our friends raved about the bacio cheese appetizer, and the rockfish and chips were really good. Glad to see the place is improving!

Great place to stop in and grab a beer or a bite to eat. New menu - new nachos with Mexican chorizo were delicious! Good selection of local beer on tap. Definitely recommend this new restaurant! Karaoke every other Monday is fun too :-)

4 people for dinner. Overall Meh. Good beer selection, but could use more Maryland brews. Sons meal was lukewarm, daughters salad was ok and large, but once again her potato was not hot. Wife's meal(fish and chips) was ok. Fries not 100% cooked. My shrimp was ok, but needed more spices. The Asparagus was well prepared, but once again needed more flavor. Desert was also just ok. Nobody was super excited by the result. We really need another decent place to eat in Lusby/Solomons. The Rudy Duck is fine, but great beer and good pizza only get you so far. I hope that Pax Pub will step it up and become a "place to eat" in southern Maryland. Well give it another shot on a couple of weeks.

Very friendly and sociable staff. Very good menu with outstanding price to portion ratios. The burgers are gigantic and the sandwiches are stacked full with your choice of Boars Head meats! Outstanding draft beer selection. Numerous mounted large flat screen TV's great for most, if not all, televised sporting events (or whatever else is requested). The best part about Patuxent Pub & Grill (in my opinion) is that they support the counties local farmers and watermen.

Beer selection is dreadful, just the usual mass-produced stuff. I hope they get some craft beer soon. They had some craft beer tap handles, but they apparently didn't have any kegs yet. Maybe they plan to serve that beer soon, but it's kind of odd since they're essentially advertising a product they don't sell. On a more positive note, bison burger was delicious! They also had a jerk shrimp pasta and seared ahi tuna, both dishes I would like to try in the future. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly, but a bit slow. Came back a second time and had Guinness beef stew (very good), BBQ shrimp (very good), and seared ahi tuna (okay-the tuna was most likely frozen). Had a few more craft beers. Service was painfully slow again.

I've been here twice now. The food has been great and cooked to my order exactly. The service has been very prompt and cordial. The beer menu is diverse. Unfortunately there's no paper beer menu so you have to rely on the server or just bring up their website on your phone. I'm quite pleased they moved into the neighborhood.

Wasnt expecting the best experience from all the reviews that I read here and from what I've heard locally but I found that the menu was okay at best the bar seem to have a lot of options but the service wasn't that great our waitress didn't really know what was on the menu and actually came off kind of weird. There was a moment when a colleague of mine asked for a Dr. Pepper and when she gave it to him she joked that she didnt drink out of it? Why say that?

I love the new menu! The sandwiches are amazing. Deserts are great! Beer selection is excellent! Staff is very friendly. Prices are spot on. Could not ask for a better place down the street to stop on the way home from a long day at work.

We decided to give this place a try hoping to find another non-chain restaurant to frequent in Southern Maryland. We ordered cilantro lime shrimp with rice pilaf and fries and the Caribbean jerk shrimp pasta. The cilantro lime shrimp was missing the cilantro and a few pieces were still raw. The rice pilaf tasted exactly like it came from a box of Rice-a-Roni and it was still a bit "crunchy". The fries tasted like they came straight from a bag from the freezer section at Walmart. They were hot but still tasted undercooked if that even makes sense. The Caribbean jerk shrimp had not even a hint of caribbean or jerk. The pasta itself was over cooked and mushy. Those two entrees, two beers, and an iced tea were over $50. That's crazy for the quality of food we received. The service was a bit iffy as it took a bit to even get our drink order and the waitresses didn't really seem to know what table food belonged to and on more than one occasion food was taken to the incorrect table.

I'm in Bison burger heaven. It was cooked perfect and had a great bbq sauce. I plan on making it a regular addition to my diet. Good food, good bar setting, and a nice dining room also. Highly recommended,

Terrible waste of time on my Saturday night, prime rib special what a joke! Thinnest I've ever seen and over 50% fat, side order are all starches with normal sides all upcharges (side salad etc.). French dip ice cold for my wife and a cucumber salad after asking for a side salad with NO cucumbers. Family friendly as they claim, not even close got to hear an old family favorite RIDING THAT TRAIN HIGH ON COCAINE ! ! Thought Jake and Al's was bad but this is much worse. Uneven tables covered with table cloths that couldn't have been more wrinkled. NEVER AGAIN ! PROBABLY THE 2ND TIME IN MY LIFE I WALKED OUT WITHOUT TAKING A BITE.

Excited to try a new restaurant with high hopes but was quickly disappointed. Went on a Saturday night and the dining room was about half full, not too busy, however it took a very long time to be waited on. The wait staff gathered several times to assess the dining room noting that we haven't been waited on yet and after about 15 minutes assigned a young girl to come over. She was nice but not very knowledgable about the beer or food but did announce everything they were out of before we ordered which was pretty darn near everything on the menu. They were even out of ketchup bottles for the tables. We stuck to burgers ( not bison though, they were out) which were ok but the produce was extremely inconsistent. I had practically half an onion and the top part of a tomato slice, luckily they took the stem off. The fries were hand cut potatoes and not consistent in size so some were raw and some were mush. And the poutine fries should not be on the menu, not even close to Canadian style, a total misrepresentation. I will wait awhile before going back to see if things change after they are open for awhile longer and get used to what people like and want when dining out.
