Got stuck at the BWI Hilton during the blizzard of '10 and since the only options within walking distance were a Chili's, a sports bar in the Marriott next door, and Acqua, we decided to give the in-house restaurant a try. We were in on a weekday night and there were only two or three other tables in use when we were arrived. We were seated promptly and our friendly waitress came over, took our order, and brought us water and bread. There were no plates on the table and the typical hotel breakfast table setting of jelly on a tree and packets of sugar was still out, so the place didn't exactly seem raring-to-go for dinner. I decided to pass on eating the bread since I didn't want to palm the roll the whole time. We ordered the oysters appetizer which was poached and served in the shell, topped with pancetta and leeks in sauce. The combination of pancetta and oysters works very well, but the sauce was very sweet and overpowered the other flavors. The oysters were also a bit chewy, but I have never had them poached before, so maybe this is just what happens. For my entree, I had the crispy black bass and my wife had the crab cakes. I was a bit surprised when my bass came, because it wasn't "crispy" whatsoever. It was blackened. I'm not sure why something clearly blackened was given another name, but it worked out fine for me. I was wondering what "crispy" meant, and I was glad to see a thin crust of seasoning instead of a great piece of fish being fried to death or anything. Aside from the deceptive name, there wasn't a thing wrong with the fish. Delicious and light. The portion wasn't huge, but adequate. The bass was served with a vegetable risotto that was awesome, and the piece of braised fennel underneath the fish fillet added a nice, subtle flavor. I tried a bite of my wife's crab cakes and while the piece I ate wasn't covered in remoulade, the sauce was all I could taste. Very sour. It definitely tasted of a sour cream base instead of mayonnaise. My wife did disagree though and loved her crab cakes. The vegetables were minced very finely and there were nice chunks of crab meat throughout, so it did look good if you could get past the funky remoulade. Overall, Acqua was meh. The menu was on the small side (5-7 apps and 6 entrees), but varied enough to provide options. Somewhat disappointing was the fact that most plates were in the $20-25 range, but the only steak available was a $40 rib-eye. I was in the mood for steak, and $40 is an amount I'm willing to pay for a great steak, but I just can't bring myself to order something that's twice as much as the other options. We paid $80 for dinner for two, which I don't mind in theory, but it felt like we paid more for being a captive audience in a hotel than we did for quality.

I've been at the Hilton four nights. I've had plus and minus experiences in the restaurant. Tonight after the conference wrapped, I had the crab cake sandwich. It was pretty good, but I don't know if it is worth $17. For a bar, the items are a little pricey. Dinners are in the $30 range, but this isn't a place for locals. The best deal us the breakfast buffet for $14.95 - eggs / omelets to order, bacon, sausage, french toast, juices, fruit, cereal, hot drinks.

I stopped here because of landing at BWI during rush hour. IMO, skip this place as the menu is generic and bland. Service was incredibly slow and I kept thinking "Maybe I'm still in an airport". Anyhow, I'm sure there are a ton of better places, but the parking and location were convenient.

The menu is limited, but it's a hotel restaurant in a fairly sleepy community, so that would be expected. The service was fine. I ordered a greek salad and steak kabobs. It was just okay. My wife had the Mexican salad. The corn was uncooked, so that was odd. They forgot to put the tortilla strips on it as well. It was fine, and if you avoid chain restaurants as I do, it's probably the best option in the area.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after searching for a non-chain, non fast food without success. At first we thought it was not open as there were no customers. This is explained away by Location "at the airport," timing "airport hotel on Sunday" and they do a large breakfast draw. We started with the Maryland Clam Chowder then Fried Green Tomatoes which were yummy. We shared a Stacked Roasted Vegetable Sandwich which was very good. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in area.

I am staying at the Aloft hotel next door and didn't want to drive so I walked over to the Acqua restaurant at the Hilton. It looks really nice from the outside and at first glance it looks quite chic when you first walk in. I swear it was disgusting when I looked over at the hostess podium and there was a plate of food, a cell phone and it just looked really unprofessional and unsanitary at a restaurant. I also noticed a whole lot of dirty dishes and glasses on the bar that no one has bothered to clear away or at least put them in the back kitchen where it's out of sight of the customers. You'd think if they are trying to portray a classy restaurant that they would know better. Secondly the waitstaff is inexperienced. My waitress came over and just stood there looking at me waiting for me to say something to her first. I ordered a cheeseburger with no onions. She didn't even take my drink order. Whatever. btw the cheeseburger was the cheapest item on the menu at $15.00. There was this asian lady walking around looking very tacky. I can only assume she was the owner? I dunno. But a customer sitting at the next table had asked her for some mustard. The asian lady went up to her and said "excuse me?" The customer asked again for mustard. The asian lady walked over to the customer and knelt down so her head was level with the customer and just starred at her. I looked over and witnessed this very odd behavior as she just starred at the customer for about 7-10 seconds before the customer said once more "can I get some mustard". Then she understood and left to get it. But who does that?? My burger came and of course there were onions in them. The burger is not worth $15.00, it's not even worth $2.00. I ate half and then asked for the bill. The entire time I sat in the restaurant I told myself that if the plate of food was still sitting at the podium that I will take a picture of it and yelp it, but I honestly didn't believe that plate of food would still be there when I left 45 minutes later, but yes it was still there when I left the restaurant and the picture of it is posted.

I attended banquet style offerings for an Honor Flight event which takes WW2 veterans back to Washington D.C. to see the WW2 monument in their honor. The fast dream team staff & attentive managers helped make the dinners & breakfasts a success. The food was decent: traditional garden salad, crusty rolls with butter, turkey or chicken choices with veg and smashers,coffee/tea/water with apple or strawberry rhubarb pie to finish. The vets all enjoyed the evening and a podium with mic was available for announcements. Great for medium sized business lunch or dinner behind a full bar lounge area. Good A/C plus nice lush green view of trees behind sweeping windows clad in tri-color sheers. It was more of a business setting than what I would use for a wedding venue.

Not a whole lot of choices out here at the airport. Small menu, definitely catering to a captive audience of travelers staying at the aloft and Hilton. **SEE PICS** I'll admit, Acqua has come a loooooooooooong way since my August 15th *** review! It's still a nice chill spot in a quiet part of the BWI Hotel District. It's a good way to escape the hustle and bustle of airport traffic and 9-to-5 blues. I'm please that the bar menu has been updated and all is well. I highly recommend the Acqua Cheesesteak, Mini Corndogs (order a side of fries and make it a meal) and Toasted Club Sandwich (grilled chicken, turkey are theee best). I was ready to give up hope after finding out that they're no longer listed on OpenTable. I needs my Dining Points, dammit! At any rate, I'm so glad I gave this place another chance -- especially since I'm in walking distance.

The Smoky Chicken Fusilli Pasta was a disappointment. Tasted like it was from a can and the chicken was tough. My wife and son each had Steak and Fries. That was very good. Enjoyed the crab mac & cheese. A bit pricey.
Ended up at Acqua's bar area after we decided the smell in Ruby Tuesday's was not going to go well with a leisurely happy hour. It's fairly upscale for this area that's filled with chains and dive bars. The Hilton must've had low occupancy on this weekday evening because the bar was filling up slowly but absolutely no one was enjoying dinner. It kinda made me feel bad that such a pretty restaurant was going to waste. Location, location, location is always an important factor, if not THE most, when opening up a nice restie. Anyway, the wine list impressed me so I ordered a glass of my fav vino, Viognier. Half-off appetizers was an awesome deal at Acqua because they had many more options of sophisticated fare than your average bar food. So I went for the beef kebabs, which were $4!!! Well, those $4 kebabs were tasty and presently nicely on a small plate. I was very impressed with how plump and tender they were for, once again, only $4?! My friend had the calamari, which he said was pretty good, and a glass of Merlot. All in all, the experience was pleasant and the crowd seemed older and upscale. All of the waiters and waitresses were friendly, eager to help us choose the right wine and nice looking. Great for business meetings or after work socializing.

I've got a pretty mixed review about this place. We went here for a corporate lunch last week and it proved to be a pretty good environment for it -- it was quiet and spacious at lunchtime, and the music wasn't too loud, so we could talk. The service (once they got going -- we were the first guests there) was quick, and they kept our drinks filled and made sure we had what we needed. The food. There's the rub. Around the group, we had: - Clam Chowder duo. Good - Crab soup. Yawn. - 2 Burgers. These were very good. - 1 Pork sandwich. Boring. - 2 Crab cake sandwiches. Pedestrian, especially for the area. - 1 Seafood Lasagna. Blech. - Seafood lasagna replaced with smoked salmon club. Good. So the highlights were the clam chowder and the burgers. The clam chowder is interestingly presented - it's got both New England and Manhattan style served side-by-side in the same bowl, which looks really cool. And they know how to cook a burger medium rare, and they serve it on tasty ciabatta bread. So I am going with three stars instead of two, because the burgers were good and they were so cool about the icky lasagna. They whipped out the smoked salmon club within minutes of whisking away the unfortunate plate of yuck. The manager even came out and talked to us about it, a nice touch.

You should definitely consider Acqua an option if you're staying at the Hilton, Aloft or the nearby hotels, but I wouldn't go out of your way to try it. I ate at the bar and the service was great...both of the bartenders were friendly, talkative and handled the obstinate travelers to my right with professionalism and patience. The food, though, wasn't impressive. I had a shoulder steak that was charred on the outside, and lacked seasoning. My Maryland crap soup was fairly plain, and not all that hot. I, like I think most people, likes to be served their soup with steam coming off the top, and this was only lukewarm. In an area famous for seafood, there are so many other, better, and less expensive alternatives I would send you too. On the other hand, it was about 20 degrees outside and I was glad I didn't have to leave the hotel to eat dinner.

Stayed at Hilton last night. Ate in the hotel due to weather. It was pretty typical for a mid tier hotel eatery. The service was good. I had a ceasar salad which was very good and a burger which was ok. There was too much bun and not enough choices for toppings. That made it overpriced at $10.

There is nothing worse than having to wait to be acknowledged when you are only one of six people and you are sitting at the bar. In town for business, I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before getting back to work but unfortunately I was able to knock out a couple of emails on my blackberry before I was even asked what I wanted to drink. Lucky for me emails are time stamped at I was sitting at the bar a full 9 minutes before someone spoke a single word. Needless to say I was ready for a drink, so I ordered a Heavy Seas pale ale. For the entree I went with trout, pancetta, asparagus and red skin potatoes. The dinner was average. The fish wasn't very flavorful and thank god for the pancetta or it would have been downright bland. When my meal was done it took about as long to pay my bill as it did for me to get a drink. Unless you are staying at the Hilton, there are better seasfood restaurants to visit.

Acqua Restaurant is located inside the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport off of West Nursery Road. We ducked in here for a late lunch today after some meetings in the area. Very laid back restaurant and bar - there were about 3 other tables of diners when we arrived - so we got a table and were waited on immediately. Prices on the menu are middle of the road - and most of the stuff is American style and seafood dishes - burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, crabcakes - and more. I ordered the Dockside Burger - medium well, with fries and a glass of water with lemon. The menu describes the burger thusly: "flame-broiled certified angus beef® with avocado, sautéed mushrooms and onions, bacon and cheese on a brioche roll." The beef was excellent, still juicy and flavorful - and the combination of toppings made for a succulent and savory burger. The fries had a light coating of batter and were crisp, hot, and delicious - as all good fries should be! Service was good an attentive, although it did take a bit longer than I would have liked to get my water glass refilled on one occasion. I would definitely come back here again for a meal, or a drink in the evening!
