Initially I was hesitant. The place was so dark when we walked in. Thank goodness for some daylight because the lights were turned down so low that it was difficult to read the menus. The food was surprisingly good. We all enjoyed what we ordered, ie. pizza and hamburgers. The service was friendly and courteous. We would go back again.

My husband and I recently moved here and we came here for dinner on Saturday 1/3/15. We had tried to come in for lunch a few weeks before on a Saturday, but they apparently don't open until 3:30pm. You could throw a rock over this town, so that doesn't surprise me. The Office is connected to a frame store and a bicycle shop, and it's hard to notice until you've passed and see the outdoor patio area that's screened in. There a handful of small tables outside with space heaters, which is nice. The inside of the bar is very modern and beautifully decorated. I was impressed. Granite bar, tall stools with backs, and several cocktail tables. The server/bartender greeted us immediately with a wine list and menus. He was very friendly and attentive. I was very happy with the menu--they serve alligator bites! I was ecstatic about that, especially since this is a tiny bar out in the country. They describe their food as gourmet and eclectic, and they are right on point with that. I ordered a house pinot grigio which was excellent. My husband ordered The Office Ale, which he really liked. Our best friend ordered a different beer and was pleased with that as well. For food, we ordered the crab dip which was served with warm pita. I was happy with the lump crab meat and the seasoning. I ordered a chicken caesar salad which was perfectly dressed and the chicken was cubed up already, which I appreciated. The garlic croutons were cubed up Texas Toast (I presume) and they were also delicious. It was a great salad and the chicken was seasoned with oregano. Their plating presentation was detailed and artistic. My husband ordered the turkey reuben with fries. He half of the sandwich and I had it this morning for breakfast with a fried egg in it and it was still juicy and so flavorful!! Our friend ordered the steak sub and was also happy with that--he's a tough critic when it comes to food. The server stayed on top of refills and was swift with service the entire time. The local regulars that stood around the bar reminded me of my old regulars when I was a server 10 years ago. This place lit up memories for me and I enjoyed watching the TVs and people-watching back and forth throughout the meal. We are definitely returning. I think we'll have to try everything on this menu! I wish this place were a little bigger, but I completely understand, since the town is so small and it almost seems like a hidden gem in this area--totally out of place but just what we needed at the same time since we are way out in the country now. :)

I absolutely ADORE this place! My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger cause this place can get crammed on a weekend evening. The cook is FABULOUS and all of their food is always delicious. They have a great menu that they execute perfectly. Everyone who works here is friendly and it's a great local spot!

Very disappointed that they were not open even though both yelp & what is posted outside restaurant indicate they are open for lunch Saturday's Would recommend they update there hours to reflect when they are actually open

Excellent food and staff. Everyone is friendly and eager to please. Prices are excellent for such good food. Space is limited so go early or at lunchtime.

This is a pretty depressing place, but it's also an AMAZING place if you come here with your friends because this is the next big thing to happen in Laytonsville. Tennessee is the manager. It's located in Laytonsville, so you know everyone else in here, and they're all from Gaithersburg High. Everyone here graduated from Gaithersburg between the years of 2007 and 2010. I graduated in 2008, so I am stuck in the middle of an unbearable high school reunion. I haven't seen these people in like 5 years, but I guess I'll listen to their stupid stories about how radiation from the tsunami in Japan is contaminating the Pacific Ocean all the way to California. This is a depressing place because every young person who comes here nowadays is someone who has yet to leave this town after high school and college. However, you get to hear all the inside gossip stories about people you haven't even thought about in six years. For instance, someone mentioned that someone from our high school, Logic, is about to go on tour with Kid Cudi and Big Sean. That's cool, especially since Big Sean is tight with Kendrick Lamar. This is also an amazing place because it is a very chill atmosphere for us local people. Nonetheless, only beer and wine are served here. Mixed drinks are not served here. I'm not sure why. I ordered water because I don't care what anyone thinks. They even have vegan options, which include an orange, avocado, blueberry salad with vinaigrette for $8.50. The inside is very nice and luxurious. I can fade it. The music is good. Everything from N`SYNC to Lil John to Drake is played. Unfortunately they didn't play any of Juicy J's songs from Chronicles of the Juiceman. They didn't play Bandz a Make her Dance either. They have lots of nice televisions.

Small but friendly place. Food is very good as was service. My husband loves their "spicy pig" sandwich. It a sausage sandwich that has a little spice but not overbearing. The roll it was on was great. They have specials each day too. Just check the board.

I don't know what the lady who left a bad review had to complain about. I've never had a bad experience here - I guess you just can't please everyone. The Office has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and the food is top-notch. Chef Tyler is always coming up with interesting & delicious dishes.

I eat here with my work team frequently. Not a lot of interesting options in Laytonsville until this place! Our lunch time waiter John is awesome.... Remembers our drinks and special lunch requests. And there are always fun, new specials of soup, sandwiches and desserts to keep diners interested and not bored. I love their Le French sandwich which is grilled chicken with brie cheese and a green apple slice....I'm not usually one for fruit and meat mixed together but that sandwich is outstanding! Great atmosphere and nice and cozy....perfect for lunch!

This wonderful new bar/restaurant in Laytonsville is wonderful for casual dining. The chef, Ryan, is SO passionate about making delicious food. The owner, Larry, is the most likable guy. His fiance, Tina, is also simply wonderful and charming. I'm pretty picky about food, but I can say without hesitation that the food is terrific here. It's way beyond an Applebees or TGI Friday. It's a small space, but the owner, his fiance, the chef and other staff go out of their way to truly care about people. I only go once every couple of weeks, but I NEVER go to other restaurants on a regular basis. This is one place I am happy to re-visit time and time again.

I did not have a good experience here at all. I went on a weeknight and only the bartender was waiting on customers. It is quite small and only one other table was occupied yet it took him quite a while to get to us. The wine selection is nothing to make the drive for alone. Very cheap selection. We ordered the meatball appetizer and was told there were 5 in an order. Was very surprised that the tiny one inch round mini meatballs showed up! Literally were the kind that you buy a freezer bag of at Giant, and tasted just like them. Our sandwiches were very good, i must say, however our pasta salad and coleslaw sides were once again exactly like those I buy at Giant. I find it hard to believe they were made in house. Lastly, when asked for the check, I was just verbally told how much I owed! No printed check! When I questioned him, he said something about not having a system that will print them and I had to pay first. He added that I was the only person since they opened months ago to ever question that. Again, hard to believe. We all enjoyed our sandwiches very much, but not enough to go back again.

My friend and I both had a wonderful experience at The Office! When you walk in it kinda looks like a sports bar, but it does not have the same atmosphere. It was quite and friendly. The waitress/ owner was very kind. She even gave us a sample taste of what is going to be their house soup. It was SO good! I am planning on bring my family back so I get some more of that soup :) so I highly recommend this place. Good food ( for both lunch and dinner), nice atmosphere, and free wifi! Can't get any better than that :)

I thought this place was a long shot from some of the reviews I have read. I was pleasantly surprised with The Office! It is a very small, laid back bar. I tried their margarita pizza with the office brew. I thought both items were delicious and fairly priced! If you are hesitant about checking this place out, well, don't be! It's quaint, small and very laid back. P.S. It might be easier to park in the shopping center.

Monday night around 8pm. Fried pickles were interesting. Never had 'em before. I quite enjoyed my Caesar Salad with steak. The steak was a bit chewy but had a nice flavor and generous portion. Bottled beer (Miller Lite) was very cold, which I enjoyed. Service was good. Only complaint was that people were smoking cigarettes just outside the door so that whenever someone walked in/out, the smoke came into the (relatively small) dining room.
