They seemed understaffed. I waited for a while at the front before anyone would acknowledge that I was there. Drinks took a long time to come out. Not the worst, but definitely not the best Starbucks I've been to.

Staff here have always been super friendly and helpful, but this location definitely is not one you want to go to if you want to hang out or work. Very little seating here. It's a small space, but the primo spots are occupied by merchandise displays - lots of merchandise displays. Still, I come here pretty frequently for my pre-work caffeine. They are nice and get my order right.

This Starbucks has some of the nicest baristas that I have encountered at many Starbucks. The issue here is the layout and lack of proper seating arrangements. I came in and basically had to sit in front of the bathroom due to a poorly placed table. I then moved up front to the more desirable location where my head was right next to the oven where they cooked egg and cheese sandwiches. I was here to have a meeting and only one of the tables is really meant to suit 2+ people appropriately. I have seen smaller Starbucks handle their lack of space much more gracefully. This is a poor example.

I used to go to this location every day until I literally couldn't take it anymore. I had to add in 40 mins to my commute in order to go here and it is 5 mins from my home! Ashley is a doll and one of the few competent people in there. She is efficient and friendly. The blonde-haired manager frequently hears orders wrong. The way it's set up is so inefficient with only one person making drinks and the lines are always ridiculously long. I switched to going to the Starbucks on Bel Pre Road in silver spring and am typically in and out in 5 mins. I also get to work a full half hour early now! Skip this starbucks.

There were three workers and 5 people in front of me and yet it took over 20 minutes for me to get my drink. I think the worker tried to compensate by putting about five extra shots of caramel sauce in my machiatto but it just made my drink unbearably sweet

I sat here for 20 minutes and waited while the barista chatted with all of her friends and made their drinks before mine, even though I arrived a good 10 minutes before they did.

They've never gotten an order wrong. I'm not a regular in the sense that I come there every morning & they know my order upon entry; although I've witnessed it. But I do frequent this location at least once a week. Professionalism is not always the greatest, but sometimes I don't really care because they've never gotten my order wrong.

Worst Starbucks I have ever visited! Service was poor to say the least! The line was 20 deep and not moving due to an over talkative and uncaring barista. Don't stop at this one!

The GPS in my phone took us to an empty building on Route 1. Totally bummed. No coffee on a rainy cold morning. I was dreading bad convenience store coffee sludge. We were about to pull a uey and chaaching! Starbucks on the right. One stripmall down. It is right by the futon store and Chuckie Cheese. Now that I know about this stripmall, I don't need to go anywhere else. Thanks for saving the day soy latte and perfect oatmeal.

I visited this Starbucks once & once only. I came in & ordered a simple decaf iced vanilla latte. The two employees were not in uniform & it seemed as if they didn't understand what I wanted. They brought me an iced coffee, no milk with a pump of vanilla syrup. I explained that was not what I ordered. I once again said "I'd like a decaf iced vanilla latte, with whipped cream". The woman behind the coffee machine acted as if it was a problem for her. Five minutes later, I'm presented with another drink, an iced Americana. By this time I was a bit upset & did not understand HOW it was so hard to make such a simple drink, I could have gone back there & made it myself!! Finally, third try. I got what "resembled" an iced vanilla latte w/whip. I grabbed my drink & exited the store. Pulled out of the parking lot, took a sip & it was HORRIBLE. I have NO idea what it was exactly but it sure wasn't like any vanilla latte I'd ever tasted from Starbucks. The service was terrible, I was treated like I was disturbing their time & still did not get the simple drink I ordered. Good thing I didn't order a venti decaf soy iced 8 pump white chocolate mocha! They may have passed out. On top of everything else, they were giving me a Grande instead of a Venti, I guess they didn't understand sizes either. Needless to say, I drove down to the Starbucks at Route 1 & Contee Road and got exactly what I had asked for in the other store. I promptly called the Starbucks HQ & told them what had happened. I received some free drink coupons which was very nice & was told the situation would be looked into. I haven't been back to this location since so hopefully they have made some very serious changes in their training & customer service. What was to be a 5 minute visit to Starbucks turned into a 25 minute fiasco that was totally unacceptable.

Dear Starbucks in Laurel, Congratulations! I have had Starbucks all over the world, and you have just won the title of WORST STARBUCKS EVER! HURRAH! This is not an easy title to win. For example, while I was in Thailand, the Starbucks near our hotel in Phuket didn't open until 2pm...and although it was 8923980239042 degrees out...they didn't serve any iced drinks. When we were in Mexico, the Starbucks in Cancun decided that they didn't understand the word "latte"...even after I pulled up Google Translate and found out that the Spanish word for "latte" is...LATTE. THEN, there was all those Starbucks in Taiwan where they all claimed to me that I could order in English (yes, I speak Chinese, but I don't know what "Caramel Mocciatto" translates into) but when I did, they looked at me like I was speaking in a foreign language (well, I was. Ha). No, despite all of these experiences, you win the award for Worst Starbucks Ever. How you ask? Well, despite all of examples from Mexico, Thailand and Taiwan...they all had one thing in common: Great Customer Service. Even when it was frustrating not being able to get an Iced Coffee, or get someone to understand "latte"...the service was always with a smile, and I could tell that despite the language and cultural differences, that the nice baristas were *trying*. Ultimately, despite these crazy mixed up experiences...I walked away feeling like I was helped to the best of their ability, and that the madness of the experience lent a piquant flavor to my coffee. You, on the otherhand, took the completely opposite approach. When we got there, we stood at the register closest to the door, where 2 employees were busy gossiping/flirting/"oh-noes-she-didn't"-ing...and not once did they deign to notice us. THEN it became apparent that they weren't working the register...nope, the only open register was the one that was further down the counter, by the machines...not that anyone pointed out to us with a "I can help you here"...especially not by the girl working the only working register. THEN, when I tried to order a breakfast wrap...I really did appreciate the magnificent way that you gave me a BIG DRAMATIC SIGH before saying "we don't do that here". When I pointed to the sign RIGHT NEXT TO MY HEAD that said "breakfast options available ALL DAY", it was pretty amazing the way you flippantly said "we had a special earlier so of course we wouldn't have any breakfast options". Aw, how nice that you assumed that I knew you had a special earlier. Really loved the attitude. But I think the creme-de-la-resistance was when we asked for a reciept...you SNAPPED at us that you had to ring us up at the OTHER register (where your two coworkers were now playing footsie I think? Or maybe they were trying to kill each other. I couldn't tell over your angry button pushing and passive aggressive mumbling). That was pretty special. Oh Oh! I can't believe I almost forgot that when I got my drink, it wasn't QUITE what I ordered...but at that point, I would have happily giving you money just to let me out of that place, that I wasn't going to quibble. MAGNIFICENT! Amazing how such a small store could contain such absolute incompentence and apathy! And for that, I award you the Worst Starbucks Ever Award! Cherish it, because I've been to Starbucks at the Mall where someone VOMITTED next to us...that had been a more pleasant experience. Sincerely, ~F

Caveats: I worked at this location from 2004 - 2007. I've been to Starbucks on several continents. I helped open a new store in Louisiana. I've worked in customer service-type positions for many years. This location has gone downhill in the saddest possible way. Let me paint a picture circa 2005: efficient, pleasant service. A line that moves (with the help of an expediter). Regulars' drinks on the bar before they could order. A condiment bar that was checked every five minutes. Music that was fun (and audible). Picture from this morning: three baristas (one of whom was the manager). A line. No expediting (does Starbucks even do this anymore? I know they don't call drinks anymore to the bar, but someone needs to at least call down the line to make people feel like they are acknowledged and speed the process). The manager didn't appear to be doing anything. She should have been the expediter. Anyway, I make it up to the front of the line and tell the barista my order. I ordered unsweetened iced coffee. She didn't mark the cup with a slash in the syrup box. Iced coffee comes standard as sweetened. I mentioned to her again "I'd like it unsweetened." She responds, "yeah, it is." Ok, whatever. So the cup goes to the bar, the barista there (she seems very efficient and pleasant, btw, but she's only one person! She should have had more support from the others) makes my drink. I take a sip. BLECK. Sweetened. I should have given my drink back to the barista at the bar, but I decided to go back to the young lady at the register because she needed to know she was wrong. Where is the training? Was she unaware of the default setting for drinks? She seemed mystified when I said "this is sweet." They quickly repoured my coffee, but geez.. I understand that mistakes happen, but I KNEW what was going to happen when she was marking my cup but she /argued/ with me and then offered no apology when the inevitable happened. There is a palpable lack of standards in this store. The condiment bar trash was full to overflowing, there was sugar spilled and hardly any half-and-half in the canisters. Separate from my issue this morning, this store is way too cluttered. I understand that Starbucks wants the merchandise to be prominently displayed, but the way it is now funnels the line unpleasantly close to the tables by the window. It's way too small of a store for the entire center area to be full. Also, since the line moves SO slowly with the current crop of managers/baristas, too much time is spent in the cramped space. I hope that whoever the district manager is for this store does some remedial standards training. Perhaps give them Howard's book to read on what Starbucks is supposed to be.

I'll start with saying that I am a pretty serious fan of Starbucks. My son has worked for them for a few years so I'm familiar with the processes in place that support the consistently excellent service I've come to expect. Unfortunately, this location either doesn't know or chooses not to follow those processes. Despite having no one in line in front of my husband and I with only one person waiting at the barista counter for their drink, we waited a good 7-8 min. for the manager and cashier to stop fiddling around before taking our order. No apology or acknowledgement that we had been kept waiting. The barista was efficient and poured the regular coffee when I asked if he would. (The cashiers are supposed to do this.) It's a shame he can't cover the whole place. I guess we should have stopped down the road at the independent shop.

I have tried going to this Starbucks now on 3 occasions. The first time was almost 2 months ago and my husband and I were looking for a place to sit and drink coffee and get online. I am in a wheelchair - so accessibility is important. The set up there is with high bar tables in the front of the store where I would never be able to reach and in the back are a few small round tables where there would be no room for a wheelchair if anyone needed to get to the restrooms or wait in line for their coffee without bumping me. So, we left without buying anything. A few Sundays later I really wanted a coffee and this Starbucks was the closest option - so again we tried stopping by to get a coffee on the go at least. We waited in line for over 30 minutes (there were about 7 people in front of us) and they finally took our order. I then realized that we would still have to wait a significant amount of time longer just to be able to pay for the drinks!! (so we walked out again without coffee) The last and final time that we tried going in there was again on a Sunday. I needed to use the restroom first so my husband assisted me in the women's restroom. (it's just a one room bathroom). I wasn't in there long and someone knocked on the door and I said "it's occupied" ... and then I could hear the counter help talking about how long the "person" was taking in the bathroom and that they were sure that it was a homeless person doing their personal grooming!!! I was humiliated. I came out. I stopped by the counter and informed them that the bathroom was now open, that I was not homeless but that I did require assistance from my husband since I use a wheelchair and that due to their uneducated rudeness that we would not be making a purchase nor would we ever be coming back to this Starbucks again! I can't even tell you if they get orders right because we never made it that far at this Starbucks!!!

Pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. I love the peppermint hot chocolate with skim. It was the perfect temperature, quick and delicious. My hubby enjoyed his chai eggnog latte. Christmas in a cup-so he says. The staff was friendly and efficient. Two homeless people were camped outside, the lot is small and the store itself has an odd layout. Welcome to Laurel!

I love my little favorite pre-work stop-off place. The people who work here are wonderful - extremely friendly and professional. I really look forward to all the smiling faces before I start me work day! Thanks Starbucks - Linthicum

Very small location - only 4 tables and 3 of them fits two and are too close to one another. Not a great spot to study or do any work. Additionally, the staff needs to worry about the Coffee and stop flirting with the patrons.

Okay, waiting in line for "baked coffee" does prove my lameness, but waiting in line for baked coffee and a breakfast sandwich only to find out that they're out of the bloody sandwich for the third time in a row (visits, not calendar days) proves their manager's lameness. The service is usually good and the staff is polite but they are consistently out of food, sugar, etc... How hard is it to keep an eye on the inventory? Actually, it's not that hard. I know because I've done it for years before moving to other pastures - just as my business has moved on from this one. Oh why can't we have a Caribou Coffee in the area...

Barristas are friendly and they make your drinks well, but there are literally only two tables in the entire place. It feels way too cramped. Plus it's in the dreaded Laurel shopping center, by the Giant Food, which I hate driving to on account of it always ending in a near-death experience. Just drive up to the Jessup location (right by Rt. 198 and I-95) if you like a little ambiance with your elixir of life.
