i typically get a large wreck on white with hot peppers, lettuce, onion and tomato. the bread and hot peppers take this sandwich to a whole different level! i don't usually get dessert but i always get their sugar cookie which is incredibly good.

Still love the Turkey, Bacon & Cheddar Flat with a little mayo and lots of hot peppers! Plus they have Zapps chips which is always a win. This location has lots of room to spread out and a friendly staff!

Terrible! Went in on a slow night after working a 14 hour day and didn't feel like cooking. There was one person in front of me and that was it other than the associates. I stood there for a good 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged. The woman acted like it was a bother. I was rushed through my order and couldn't even tell the girl what I wanted on my sandwich before the cashier rushed me down the non existent line to pay. Very disappointed. My sandwich was so burnt it wasn't edible and it had NOTHING on it because I had to skip over that part thanks to the cashier. I will not be back to this location.

Nice place to get quick bite to eat. I am not a big sandwich person but whenever I ordered my sandwich it has been delicious.

When they get your order right the sandwiches are good. But after ordering twice they left things out of the order and at one point ignored a sandwich and duplicated another.

Went to this place my last day in Washington, expecting the best based solely off of the name and aesthetics. Parking is ample, hell! Take up 2 or three spots if you want. It's all good. The restaurant has a pub-like interior, which is pretty charming (Is charming the right word to use? I don't care!). When I saw the menu, I was a little disappointed, considering the selection looked pretty basic. Taking a chance, I ordered the grilled chicken and cheddar on wheat. The price is definitely fair. The sandwich, which I wasn't expecting much from, surpassed my expectations. The chicken was seasoned well and was cooked perfectly. The cheddar was sharp, the bread was toasty and didn't destroy the roof of my mouth, and the peppers provided a mild tanginess that complimented the sandwich well. Overall, my experience was pretty awesome. Good food at a good price and friendly/quick service. What more can you ask for? Just variety :)

You know what, it is just a sandwich. The subs are OK. They are a little small honestly; for the price. The Shakes are pretty good. The hot peppers and the cookies are why I keep coming back. They could get rid of everything else and this would be 5 stars.

I recently moved to the area and tried Potbelly's for the very first time. I loved the live music and the whole atmosphere of the place. I tried the Italian sandwich and it was delicious. The smoothie was even better. I have yet to try the cookie but hear they are pretty amazing. I think Potbelly's is a step up from Subway and even though it is more expensive, it is worth it.

It's quite sad that I've been in the DMV area for nearly 2 years now and I've waited this long to experience Potbelly's. Mind you I've been told numerous times that their sandwiches were pretty good. What makes it even worse is that I live within walking distance from this place. However I would just drive along and think....I will try it next time. Well next time finally came. I didn't know what to expect...I adored the live music and the feel of the place. I tried the "Skinny" chicken salad sandwich. The BEST thing about it was the REAL chicken breast that was used. Not like that rib meat the other LARGE sandwich chain shops used. I also had the broccoli cheddar soup. Not bad but not great. What WAS great was the chocolate brownie cookie. That cookie alone will have me monitoring how often I visit. That cookie is the devil lol. Sooooo good yet so bad for you. I'm sold!!!

I am giving potbelly 5 stars because the portion to price ratio can't be beaten. Every sub I've tried has been delicious, and I've walked out full every time. I make this a weekly stop for dinner before my evening classes.

Hot peppers are giardinara, which is awesome! Serrano peppers!! Yum!! That and the TOASTED roll make it. Reminds me of NY subs....REMINDS me of them....nothing beats a real NY Deli Sub....

Typical Potbelly restaurant. It is in a pretty bad location so it seems that not many go there, which makes me wonder about the freshness of their stuff. I've gone on weekends or dinner times just for quick food and people hardly sit down and eat- there are more take-outs and than sitting down. The staff is friendly and they do have people who does the singing and playing guitar once in awhile (as with most other potbelly's I've been to).

(3.5) I started working in Laurel a few months ago, and quickly exhuasted the lunch time options on Rt1. Subway? Sure, ok. It is healthy (depending what you get), but it tastes like cardboard. Plus when I go to lunch, I like to spread out, read the newspaper (ok, read the sports, metro, and business sections), and not think about work for 35 min. At subway the tables are such hot real estate, people are constantly hovering/looming over your table. Einstein- actually, a pretty good option. Review forthcoming. Chipotle- sure I love Chipotle, but how can I eat a burrito with double meat, then resume doing work for another 3 or 4 hours? I go comotose after such meals. Not to mention the gastronomical issues such a repast presents. Enter Potbelly. My rotation of Subway/Einstein/Quiznos/etc was in a rut. I remember the potbelly in College Park having meager sandwiches. Still, I needed to break out of my rut so I gave it a whirl. They now have an option to "make your sandwich a BIG" for a dollar extra. In practice this makes your sandwich "normal", but for the pricing, still a decent value. Tack on the choc/oatmeal cookie Su mentioned, and a drink and the whole thing is under 8 bucks. Plus two times I was there, they had an old guy on a little perch playign old folk songs on a guitar. It would have annoyed me if I worked there, but for a lunch time break, you can do alot worse. 3.5 Potbelly- here is a suggestion from a Finance/Marketing grad from UMD: Instead of the "BIG" campaign, just make that your standard sandwich size and tack on the extra dollar. No one will balk at your price to food ratio, and you will lose the mindset normal/large eaters like myself had about you of "Potbelly is pretty good, but their sandwiches are too damn small." If you are married to the meager size for some reason, make that the "kids" or something.

When Bennigan's closed about 5 months ago, I was afraid that it would be replaced by some healthy option. So imagine my relief when I saw a banner noting that a Potbelly, and the wonderful Potbelly Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie (POCCC), would be replacing my beloved Monte Crisco/Cristo. I don't really know when this location officially opened as it looks perpetually closed as the windows are tinted darker than a Rice Rocket, but it is open Food - for those unacquainted with Potbelly, the sandwiches are delicious, toasted and portion controlled (read: tiny). Sandwiches run just over $4 and my favorite is the A Wreck, which may be a problem for you grammar Nazi's. If you like spicy food, make sure you add the hot peppers to the sandwich and ask for some extra on the side (no extra charge). The peppers are considerably spicy but be warned, they're also incredibly oily. My only gripe about the sandwiches is the lack of sauces, as only mustard and mayo are available here. This might not be a problem for most, but I like those MSG/sodium laced sauces at Quizno's - mmmm, mmmmm, salty! And if you've never tried one before, make sure you grab a POCCC! Don't worry, there are absolutely no raisins in this cookie. It's probably really bad for you, but hey, the oatmeal adds fiber so it all balances out, right? Right? If you dare, try it as an ice cream sandwich ($3) - 2 cookies w/ ice cream in the middle. NOM NOM! And they have 12 packs of the mini cookies for about $3. The ice cream and milkshakes are also very good. Location - Located in the Laurel Lakes shopping center (Best Buy, Ross, Modell's), the exterior was largely unchanged but the interior looks similar to the other Potbelly's in the area. Ample seating, even for large groups inside. Fax and online ordering are available, but breakfast and delivery are not. Service - despite having recently opened, the service has always been expedient here. I do miss the Monte Cristo, but the POCCC ICS more than makes up for the loss. Until the hours get posted: 11am-9pm daily

I can't add much to Su K's review, but I can also recommend Potbelly's chili. Get it with onions and cheese. Su K mentioned the ice cream sandwich. Watch out for that one, it's incredibly sloppy. Best maybe to share it with someone else. My wife's gripe with Potbelly's is that they can't provide ice for their drinks. Everything is in a can or bottle. Finally, I don't know about all locations, but the one I go to -- on Maryland Ave. in SW DC, across from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel --also offers breakfast sandwiches. They're pretty decent, and you can get the full range of toppings.

My boss suggested we eat here. I trust him so I agreed with no resistance. Right on! Good size sandwich and reasonable cost. Had turkey and swiss, toasted all was very good! There was also a guitar player there, maybe cause just before Christmas? Nice touch though. Always thought about trying one of these places but never pulled the trigger. Now a solid place for lunch in this area.
