Working in Beltsville you are pretty limited with food options so I'm always curious to check out new eateries. I had passed by this place several times and finally decided to check it out with a co-worker today. First thing you notice as you go in is the display case with their meats & cheese "selections". They're clearly trying to go with the cheese / butcher shop look but it looks rather pathetic when they have but a few selections in both categories. The customer service is kind of hard to pinpoint...it's that typical new shop in town / a bit over the top / uncategorical. I ordered a veggie wrap because I've been trying to minimize my meat intake and the operator of the meat slicer made some comment about how he loves meat so much and how he's glad we're high on the food chain..I wasn't paying attn so not sure exactly what he said but it came off rather odd.....like it was some sort of dig at my choice of a veggie wrap. So then off to the "fixings" person. They asked if I wanted it "Mike's Style" to which I replied "What does that mean?". Then they realized I had a wrap which is prepared in a separate area. Mike's Style apparently just means they put a particular set of vegatables and sauce on your sandwich. I was then offered a "cookie for a rookie" because I had never been to the place before. Seriously...can we get more lame? On to the food. The wrap was well prepared and the vegatables were nice and fresh. Nothing mind blowing but also probably a step up from what you might find @ other franchise type sub shops. I'd probably visit this place again but definitely would not be the first place I would consider and I wouldn't throw it out as a recommendation to anyone.

Went on Wednesday and ordered the cheesesteak with jalapeno peppers and extra cheese. It was great. Service was kind of slow, as they were not crowded, but they were friendly and the sandwich was great. Would definately recomment and hopefullyt hey will continue to put as much meat on it as they did this time.

I ordered the Cheesesteak and it is as close to a Jersey Shore sub as you get around here. Onions and Sweet Peppers with the perfect bread. The cold cut subs seemed to have all fresh products. Cut fresh for you order to order unlike other sandwich shops that use pre-cut processed meats. I go to the Jersey Shore every year and I can never understand why we can't figure out the Cheesesteak. I guess the way that others can't figure out the crabcake.

Food choices are limited in Laurel so when Jersey Mikes opened we had to try it. I agree with other reviews that I've had better subs but for a chain and especially for Laurel it's great! Everything is incredibly fresh and tasty. The staff is truly wonderful. They greet you and chat with you while you wait and everything is really clean. I would also say it is so far above Subway that you can't even compare them.

Finally made it around to Jersey Mike's... because you know, subs are always just ok for lunch, I rarely say "WOW, that sub was great, I can't wait to have that again for lunch..." A+ for friendliness of the staff and there are lots of them working so things move fast. Got the classic cheese steak on my first try. Super fresh rolls, but the sub was pretty light on meat, as in a couple bites just toppings no meat. I'll give it another go on the cold subs.

You guys have to give this place more credit than it's getting. Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable would be proud of this place - especially for a chain. Let me get right down to business and tell you why this place is good. The bread is good and fresh. Soft, not toasted or tough like chiabatta or any of that crap that has no business on a hoagie. The meats are SLICED fresh right in front of you when you order. It's not filed away in a stack of unidentifiable meats. They have the meats a real hoagie shop should have. The ones you need to spell check when you type them - that's why I'm not going to embarrass myself by trying to name drop them. Just know that it's more than just turkey, ham and bologna. If there was room for improvement, I would say for them to use iceberg lettuce instead of romaine or whatever they're using. Other than that, this place does it right. Ever since official Blimpie shops closed down in MD, it's tough to find a good chain to find a respectable hoagie sub. Sure, you may find one that's "better" or whatever.. that's all opinion anyways. For the money and quality, and the fact that this place is a chain, I give it the thumbs up. This is a place that cares how a real cold cut/Italian/hoagie submarine sandwich is supposed to be made! What would I order you ask? The #5 Super Sub - Mike's way, extra vinegar plus mayo.

Ok, so let me be honest in saying my first experience here didn't get me. My partner who really seems to enjoy their Chicken Philly dragged me here a few times, and I then found myself craving it. While I agree, the bread isn't that great and would be yummier toasted or a little warmer I find a way to work with it. I don't actually like Mike's Way, although I typically do. They don't put on the right amount of spices and vinegar. In fact, they just go crazy and overdo mine each time. So I eventually gave up because "Just a little" or "Light Mike's Way" didn't make a difference. I just order it plain with some mayo and I actually like it more. I usually get the Turkey, Bacon, Swiss on Wheat with all the fixings including the hot peppers. It is just right. If I want a sandwich this is the place to go, beats any Quizno's or Subway for sure.

Luv me some Jersey Mike's. I guess this location has been here around 3 years. I didn't know. I just found out about three weeks ago and have already been six times. The first time I ordered (and ate) two subs, I was that excited. (Used to eat at another location in another city and it had been a while.) With the help of the ICC I am able to pop over to this outer Laurel location with relative ease. Thank goodness! I recommend the steak sub. So reeeally good. And not that Philly style I don't like, with the chopped up meat (bleh). This is just slices of steak with peppers and onions. And the peppers they use are sweet reds, not bitter greens, so all the better. They also make their own roast beef, which is delicious. And their own bread. This is one of the few places I will order a sub on white and not feel guilty about it. Beware though: When they say "Mike's way" they mean drenched in oil and vinegar so your sub will be WET. If you don't like or want that let them know. This is definitely the best chain sub place and the best sub place overall in the DMV. I'm sure in Jersey it's "just another sub joint" but we ain't in Jersey (small mercies).

RIPOFF!!! Jersey Mike's is rated highly in this area, so I had to check it out. The equivalent of a 6" sub was $8 (with tax). Are you kidding me? I can get a whole sub and be full for about $6 at other local sub places, but not at Jersey Mikes. I had to go find something else to eat after. The portions and taste definitely do not equal the price.

Easily the best subs available in Maryland. I eat at this location at least once a week for lunch and receive a great and tasty sub every time. The staff is extremely friendly and I've never had any issues with my order. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that it often takes more than 15 minutes to get through the line during the lunch rush. I think if they had more counter space, utilized the second register and hired a few extra employees, this process could be faster. Though, you can order online and rush to the front of the line! Sadly, I never think of this until I'm already there.

Great sandwich shop considering its a chain. The employees always seem happy to be at work and offer great service. This particular location is always very clean and all of the food is fresh. I've had the Italian, the meatball sub,the buffalo chicken wrap, cheese steak etc. All of them were on the money.

When showing homes in the area and we need something good and fast this is the place to go. Great and healthy compared to a lot of the others.

Not a fan. I prefer a better bread product, that is toasted. Like delis in NY do, they toast the roll. Big deal, you slice the meat in front of my face, like that is suppose to impress me? Last I checked, when you slice meat it stays good for a few days. The presentation on my last couple subs looked sad. Small meat portion that was sloppy looking. I really gave this place a chance. Nothing special, nothing special at all. Even half a$$ subs will get sold in Laurel, so this place might stick around. I just would not go out of my way for this. Straight honest. When you have had the real deal, you know an impostor. This would get laughed out of NY. That is why you don't see any there. Faageddaboudit!!!!!!! Fugazi!!!!! Over heeeeerre...

My mom rants and raves about this place so when she decided to offer free lunch how could I say no. I decided to go with the Chipotle Cheese Steak Sub and must say I did enjoy it. The service was on point and the sub was top notch in my opinion so I made a return run about a week later. I cant remember the exact name of the sandwich but I remember it being an Italian Cold Cut lmao. I believe the fresh sliced meat made a large impact as this was one of the best cold cuts I've had in a while.

I love this place...mostly because of the staff. If everyone in the food industry acted like them we would have a better eating experience lol! I always order the Turkey and Provolone or the Chicken Cheesesteak...their just damn good. I don't need the 20 plus ingredients that other places have...just give it to me Mikes Way! Always Ffresh and tasty. What more can you ask for!

Friendly, funny, interesting staff that most certainly cares for the customers and the quality of their food. One employee who made my friend's sandwich asked while we were eating if the sandwich (chicken parm) was made ok, which reflects the pride she took in her work. Other employees also walked around asking if they could help with anything, which is a plus, especially for a fast casual sandwich place. Food wise, the chicken bacon ranch was delicious. Comparable if not better than other sub chains

Never heard of this place before trying it out today. I am not even sure if this is a chain or not. But damn, they seriously need to consider buying out the Evil Empire known as Jimmy John's. Mike's sure in hell knows how to make a sandwich and they actually give you enough meat on your sandwich to full you up!!! Something JJ's is sorely incapable of, giving the customer value for their money. I really like the vibe in this place. Mostly younger people working to get the sandwiches made asap. Decent size for dining in with two TVs for your viewing pleasure. Enough room to even accommodate the lunch crowd. I really enjoyed being able to chill here for about an half hour on my lunch break. I can see myself stopping by here a few times a month.

Greatly crafted hero aka 'sub'. Cut to order and getting it the Mike's Way adds to the great taste. The staff is friendly and gives good service. Def recommend.

Pretty good subs for fast food. Bread is somewhat fresh, if you get there too early they use yesterday's old stuff. Regardless I have ordered several types & sizes of subs & they are all good. The steak & cheeses are not as good as you would think though. Stick with the cold subs if you are picky about cheesesteaks.

Went back here again to give it another try and I regret it. The person who took my order made eye contact with me and when I was about to say what I was going to order, he looked away and went off to do something else. So after waiting for another few minutes, he finally asks me what I want, I place my order, but he never asked if I wanted any toppings on it. I thought that if you wanted toppings, you would just let them know after they made the sub, but nope, you have to tell them as soon as you order. (Apparently, it's different if you order a cold sub.) It would have been nice to know because who wants a plain boring cheese steak? Then after paying for my sub, I waited over 15 minutes for them just to cook a plain cheese steak while people ordering cold subs 10 mins after me paying for it already had their food and were eating it. Even the person after me who ordered 2 hot subs had theirs before I got mine. I'm glad that I waited for 15 mins for an okay cheese steak sub that wasn't even hot, it was slightly warm.

I'm from NJ I wanted to see it their subs stood up to the ones from home. So I stopped by to try it out and I was blown away. First by how great the workers there are. Mostly high school aged kids that actually had great customer service skills(really impressed). Love how the deli meat is sliced in front of you when you order. Then to the bread, absolutely perfect. Thick enough to soak up all the vinegar and oil they put on and soft as well. The toppings were spot on and fresh. Heaps of thinly shredded lettuce, tomatoes, white onions(not purple), lots of oil and vinegar and oregano are key ingredients in what makes a jersey sub a jersey sub. Totally took me back to the corner deli that made them from back home. I'm so happy that I found a great sub place, but now I'm worried that it might become a new obsession.

I have always passed other jersey mikes locations but never thought to try it. The other day I had some time to kill so I figured id grab a sandwich. I got the Italian sandwich and it was really good. The ingredients were really fresh. Also, everyone there was very nice. I'm a fan!

I love Jersey Mikes. They are the only place in Laurel that I've been able to find that actually knows how to make real subs (like they do in Philadelphia or New Jersey). All others are poor imitations. Subway and Jerry's can't hold a candle to them but Jerry's is pretty good and does have a better selection (including pizza). The staff is always friendly and polite and make you feel at home. They make the subs to order as you wait. All the fixins' I consider essential to a good Italian sub (banana peppers, onions, oil and vinegar, oregano, etc.) are there for the asking. Mmm! I'm hungry now and may have to drive over to get a sub!

I don't know why this particular Mike's gets such low marks on service according to other Yelpers. Our experience here was very pleasant -- the staff was extremely nice. They asked how our New Year's was, etc. The sub was good, too. Their ham tastes so fresh, and all of their veggies are healthy looking.

OK, I honestly am a bit in the middle about this place. Understand that, firstly, I am a Jerry's Subs & Pizza guy. I've been eating them since a kid and, while they are not a "real" Philly, I love them regardless. Secondly, if I want a "real" Philly, I'm the kind of guy who grabs his friends and drives two hours north just to get one. So, I went into this comparing this place to both Jerry's and actual Phillies. Meat-wise, this place is comparable to a good Philly. I got the Famous Philly and it was very tasty. A decent amount of meat, no gristle or fat, nicely blended with the cheese. I rate the meat better than some of the joints I've eaten at up north. Bread-wise, it was just so-so. It wasn't super hard, but it left a semi-bland aftertaste in my mouth (when I ate just bread without the meat and cheese). I prefer the bread at Jerry's, which I find softer and tastier. I rate the bread definitely at the lower end of sub shops. Toppings-wise, I can honestly say I don't know. I ordered my Philly plain, meaning no peppers or onions, which is how it's usually done up north. However, as a Jerry's customer I'm used to being able to put Lettuce, Mayo, etc. on it. I don't know if I needed to ask or if they don't do that here. Price-wise, it was a bit expensive. Yes, the Giant-size sub is just that; I think it's like 14" or 15"! However, you end up spending around $12 for it... which is a bit much for a single person. It's about comparable to Jerry's per person, but more expensive than eating in Philadelphia (ignoring gas and tolls :P). So, overall this place is alright. I think I'll stick to Jerry's for the most part, but if I'm feenin' for a good steak n' cheese and don't feel like a road trip, this place might do in a pinch.

Not bad at all. They make a pretty respectable Italian cold-cut sub (#13), they're not stingy with the hots like Subway (home of every sub tasting the same) and they know better than to throw mayo on it. If I'm in a sub mood, I know that I can hit Jersey Mike's in a hurry or take a few extra minutes for a Wreck up the road @ Potbelly. Clean store and competent counter staff, too.
(4)

It's the best NYC style sub place any where. I only get the #13 giant size Mikes Way. I have never tried any of the other subs. People tell me that they are all good.

I went to Jersey Mike's for the first time the other day and ordered a Jersey Mikes Philly Cheesteak which was very good considering that its in Laurel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love the staff it's not easy to find nice employees especially in Laurel. I went there again today and got a Turkey sandwich and my friend got the Club Supreme we inhaled it very quickly. I will definitely be coming to this restaurant more often and very happy that its right down the street from my house. Love Love Love Jersey Mike's

I took the family to this place yesterday after church originally because the last time we ate at the subway on Rt1 in beltsville...we found roaches (Uber-GROSS). So we went in thinking it would be the run-of-the-mill sandwich shop ala Quiznos.... BOY WERE WE WRONG!!! The sandwiches reminded me of the hoagies I used to get from the bodegas back home in the Bronx. They were stuffed with meat, all the proper portions of fixings you could ask for and they didn't skimp on the mayo either. The guy that made our sandwiches (Kyle) was very friendly too. After eating there I can't go back to anything lesser. Dm

The subs are good and kind of addicting. the prices are a little steep for what you get. They have super fresh toppings and the cold subs are much better than subway. I always feel like the staff is forced to be friendly to me, its not natural. That kind of takes away from it since they try and make you talk when sometimes all you want is your food. The hot subs are good but there isn't enough meat and its kind of slow. Also they have no water in their soda fountain so the only option is a bottle of water because they won't give you tap water unless you pay for the cup, which is the same as buying a fountain drink.

This place is just another regular sub place. I can't say that I was impressed but it gets the job done. I had ordered the bbq sub. They had a refrigerator with a glass window so you could see the meat that their using. For the other order's like cold cuts they use a machine to cut it. As for the bbq my meat was cooked on their grill. They put a lot of meat on my sub. It's nice since some place's are stingy and you get like two slices of meat but at least Jersey Mike's isn't like that. The bbq sauce was a bit tangy. The problem is the balance between the sauce and the meat when you have so much meat on it. Some bites were dry and some were overwhelmed by the bbq sauce. They also have chips just like any other sub place.

First time at Jersey Mike's and won't be going back. The Famous Philly Cheese Steak sub was more mayo than meat. On the Original Italian they sliced the meat and cheese so thin you could see through it then piled half a head of lettuce on it. Even though I saw cheese placed on the sandwich it disappeared by the time I ate it. The bread was good, to bad what they put on it was lacking. Oh and we didn't get or see anyone get pickles with their subs like they did when they first opened (stated by another reviewer).

Used to love it. It's turned into Subway. Smallest slivers of meat possible on the Italian Subs...i kept going back thinking if might have been an off day. Nope. Corporate's gotten involved and must have toled the staft to serve bread with oil and vinegar. Let corporate know....they couldn't have cared less.

I'd never heard of a Jersey Mike's until I saw it. When I asked around I heard nothing but great things and that I had to try it. The service was poor and the chicken parmesan that I got was even worse. It seemed like everyone there was still new at their job so I will reevaluate next time I stop in. As I always say, everything deserves a second chance!

The subs here are as fresh as you can get a sub (they don't slice the meat until you order your sandwich). next, this ain't no four little thin slices like subway do, they load it up with nice thick slices, they dont get mad if you want extra fixins. they encourage it (they have a bonus for any sandwich called Mike's way) you gotta check it out, this is what every sandwich shop should do but are afraid to. they add bacon) extra oil and vinigar. to make the perfect sandwich I usually get a numbers 8 the club sub. but I always add roast beef .so if you haven't already give Jersey mikes visit. but go to the website first and get a coupon.
(4)

I almost give this three stars ... and it's not that it isn't good ... it's that I really have experienced better. One step above Subway at best. We got the roast beef, cheesesteak and BBQ ... all normal fare ... and the service was slow as heck. Nothing to go out of your way for ... and in fact if it was in my neighborhood not sure I'd eat there that often.

These subs are absolutely delicious. I always get a giant philly and a regular turkey. Yummy! And I must say, the guys there are awesome. They always make my subs perfect and with a smile...now, I don't want to be cocky, but they always seem to be flirting with me too. I don't mind though...LOL!

My hubby loves Jersey Mikes. So just because of him I give them 4 stars. Their subs are large, fresh and yummy! They're pretty busy most of time.

(4)Jeff P.

Ehh, its good, its in Laurel, and it will satisfy hunger with no issues. Yummy!

Excellent Every Time

Only if u r desperate would I recommend this place. I am not a subway fan but at least they are always clean and quick in service. It was dirty, slow and heaven forbid you interrupt staff gossiping - it was ridiculous not returning. EVER
(1)R S.
Pot Belly way way better than this place. Very overhyped
(2)Andre' L.
(4)Barry S.
(2)April S.
These subs are absolutely delicious. I always get a giant philly and a regular turkey. Yummy! And I must say, the guys there are awesome. They always make my subs perfect and with a smile...now, I don't want to be cocky, but they always seem to be flirting with me too. I don't mind though...LOL!
