Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Not gonna lie, this place is a whole in a wall. Yet their Kung Pao Chicken and Steam Dumplings are so good that I order food here 2-3x a week Not to mention their fast and fresh food delivery ..

Warning...this is only a review of vegetarian dishes! Everything I ordered (kung pao tofu, general tso tofu, and veg lo mein) was delicious. Portions are massive will have plenty for another meal. Earlier reviews mentioned a less than pleasant interaction with the cashier but my phone order and pickup was fine. Kitchen area visible from front and from a quick peek seemed clean and organized...will definitely be back.

I ordered 2 chef specials. One was Shrimp,Beef,Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce. The other was Tai Hing Beef Hot (deep fried beef mixed vegetables in spicy hot sauce). So lets talk about the Pros: Preparation was quick. The dinner portions are large. But that's where it ends. The Cons: They Don't serve lemonade or Ice tea (homemade). BOTH dishes tasted Exactly the same. I had my fiance try them both but I didn't tell him which was which. He thought I bought a double portion of the same dinner. Grand total $23 for 2 dishes with that definitely weren't worth it. I would say save your money.

Rice tasted peppery and customer service is nonexistence. Also, make sure you get a receipt as the other reviewer said.

Language Barrier Makes Ordering Dreadful !! I understand how this works, but I would be more understanding if they didn't carry on multiple conversations while trying to take your order over the phone. Having to constantly repeat my order is not fun and trying to talk over the other people working there shouldn't be this much of an issue. Unfortunately no one there will ever read this but I wish they would. I would be ordering much more often if it wasn't so painful. The food is decent, the biggest draw is the location as its next to Maple Lawn. Delivery times are always very quick.

They are getting rather ridiculous. They charge extra for fried rice for the lunch special and $2 for a can drink which is $1 in the store. Then to top it off.50 charge to use if your order is under $10. Come on people. Then the quality of food and service has gone done. They will not be getting no more service from me. I will stick with Mandarin House.

Found this place out of sheer necessity... turns out they have pretty good food. it's not the best ever but it's tasty. they give you plenty for two people so you will both be full. it's kind of a hole in the wall and for take out only. the sesame chicken is my fave but I am willing to try all their dishes.

I tried to order delivery. They are located five minutes from my house. He said I was too far and hung up the phone on me mid-sentence. I wanted to try a new place and I was excited. I guess they don't want business!

This is a fairly good Chinese take out joint. Nothing spectacular but, it fills the need. If you want your dish spicy tell them when you order. Even though my dish was supposed to be spicy it wasn't. You really can't beat the lunch special for $6

Fast delivery and good food!

Eat here very frequently and love this place. The prices are great and the quality of food is good! There are several other local Chinese food places in the area but this, by far, is the best. Highly recommend the Kung Pao, Combination Lo Mein, as well as any of the appetizers.

I drove here all the way from South Laurel because of the reviews I read on yelp. 1- This place isn't in Laurel. It's in Scaggsville, which is about 5 miles north of Main St. in Laurel. 2- I placed my order and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. 3. All the food that I've i have ordered has always been fantastic. I normally get the pot stickers, general tso, shrimp fried rice, or chicken w/ broccoli. This place has become my go-to for Chinese in the area.

Too good to be true! It was awesome food. I got the General Tso's chicken and the Shrimp and Broccoli (it was a little dry but I'll just ask for extra sauce). The only thing I'm not a big fan of yet is the Shrimp Spring Roll. The shrimp was very small and there were only 2 through out the whole roll. But I will definitely order from here again. I'll be back to give another review on the other things i try.

They say they're MSG-free, and all of the food that was delivered was very tasty-- I had the General Tso's Chicken (which was very well balanced-- not too sweet, not too spicy) and Won-ton soup. The rest of the family had Chicken & Broccoli, Egg Drop Soup which were both very good. My wife had the egg rolls which she didn't like too much (I don't normally like egg rolls, so I didn't try them), and they screwed up her order of Chicken Lo Mein, and delivered Shrimp Lo Mein instead, which was still tasty, but not what we ordered, hence the 4 stars.

This was the first time that I have tried this place. Ordered by phone for carry-out. When I arrived, I stood in line as there were two other customers being served at the register. Waited patiently as those customers in front of me placed and paid for their orders. Waited patiently again as one of the cashiers then answered a call, while the other left the register to go to the back; waited patiently yet again as the cashier on the phone hung up and went to the back, picking up a pan as if "stir-frying". There were four other cooks in the kitchen area. After a couple of minutes, one returned and repeated my order, and nothing else- i assumed she was asking if I were in fact waiting for something. By now at a minimum, five minutes had elapsed - at a maximum eight minutes maybe. The female cashier returned with my order. When I handed her my card to pay for it she abruptly and rudely said "you don't have cash?" I responded that i did not. Appearing exasperated, she then said it would be 50 cents additional to use my card. I told her I did not want the food, and walked out. I have worked and lived in the area for more than 10 years now, and as other reviewers have said, there are several other similar establishments in the area. Service matters too much to me and my money will always go to the places that provide it best. Hunan China does not.

Once again the lady who answers the phone tried to over charge me. I know they did because before calling I calculated everything in an Excel spreadsheet to verify the total. My order with delivery fee should have totaled $15.02, but she says $16.42. I realized that forgot that the egg rolls were $1 extra, so the total should have been $16.02, yet she still came up with the wrong amount. I asked her how she came up with that amount and she could not explain, so I canceled the order. This woman is cheating customers or doesn't know how to add, but I think it's the former. Anyway, I I'll be filing a complaint with BBB because this appears to be part of their protocol.

The veggies taste very fresh, not mushy like they were frozen. Their tofu is good, sesame chicken is great. I wish they had some vegetarian chicken on the menu, but the food is much better than others nearby!

Bad service. After I paid for my carry-out order, I asked for the receipt and the tall male cashier said no and waved his hand as to not bother him. Got my order and when I told him I'd file a complaint, he apologized with his face red but that's no excuse for his bad attitude.

Good food and fast delivery. Very solid choice for chinese delivery in the Laurel area. Prices are competitive and with other Asian takeout in the area.

I grabbed takeout from Hunan China on two occasions recently and liked it enough to come talk here. Be aware: there is no place to sit and eat inside. This is strictly takeout and delivery. Quick service, cash register, bottled drink fridge, two or three chairs for waiting lined up against the wall. I'm a vegetarian, so I can't wax poetic about their beef with broccoli, though my friend enjoyed that it had more vegetables in the mix than just broccoli. Their kung pao bean curd has crunchy bits of celery, chopped crunchy carrot, a bit of onion and water chestnuts as well as peanuts. Yum. It's piquant, but I'm a spice fiend, so I'll ask them to make it extra hot next time. Similarly, the cold sesame noodles had a good amount of green onion and were not drowned in sauce, with some but not a lot of spice. The dumplings are thin - a nice dough to filling ratio. You get a good amount of food for your money, and the pricing is fair for takeout/delivery. Also: They advertise that they use vegetable oil. Nice to know.

This place meets my number one requirement for Chinese--the food is great! The only thing that my husband and I have gotten that I didn't like were the dumplings. They were oddly flat and smelled like peanuts, almost wonder if we got something else off the menu by mistake? My favorite menu items are the wonton soup and hunan chicken and my husband favors the chicken and cashews. Everybody we've dealt with is friendly and whenever we pick up an order the place is nice and clean. Beware there's no real place to sit down and eat but that's ok because their delivery service is speedy. Unlike most (all?) of the Chinese restaurants in Columbia this place has different portion sizes! So instead of the small only being available during lunch you can order it anytime, which is awesome since my husband and I like different dishes. Portion sizes are great, the small is usually enough for two meals if I get an accompanying soup. Large is big enough for two people with plenty of leftovers. Best of all the prices are really reasonable and they're open pretty late.

Our family Loves Hunan China... my husband and two kids eat here once a week and we are pretty picky when it comes to our Chinese food. The portions are great, the food is delicious and the delivery is VERY QUICK! I tend to add something special to my orders now and then, and they're always happy to do it at no extra charge... like add broccoli to my lo mien... We actually have a place directly across the street from our house that we can throw a rock and hit, and we prefer Hunan over it any day.

Have driven by here numerous times and finally decided to stop. Pretty good Chinese food and a nice sized portion. Ordered the General Tso's chicken dinner special. Really liked the egg drop soup. I'd go back.

Tried this place for first time and found everything very good. We liked the shrimp with lobster sauce which had fresh mushrooms not canned and other fresh vegetables. I really liked the Beef chow fun -- very tasty. The General Tso's chicken had nice chunks of chicken and a light breading, also very good. The beef with snow peas was just okay for me but I am not big on the baby corn and bamboo shoots. We will definitely come back and try some other dishes.

food is excellent. dumplings best in area. get a menu, calculate your total and add tax. ask for a cash register receipt, not a hand-written receipt. if you call in for pick-up, your order will be pennies more than it should be. when you remind them you want a cash register receipt when you pick your order up, the total will be exactly what it should be.
