Are ready for great BBQ? Then don't waste your time. On the other hand, if you're a fan of dry and uterlly tasteless brisket, you've found the right place. Go ahead and put sauce on. A whole lot. A waterfall worth of sauce and you will be fine. They have a huge variety to pick from. Garbage, garbage, and spicy hot garbage. Be warned though. The spicy hot garbage is the worlds mildest spicy hot garbage. Get a side of mac and cheese. It's almost as good as boxed Kraft mac and cheese. Comes with enough free grease to lube bearings on an 18 wheeler. The diet Coke was the best thing there. Unfortunately for KBQ BBQ, they don't make it. Fortunately for you, they don't make it. P.S. Bring extra personality. Their staff will need your leftovers.

I was in the mood for a hot link sandwich and decided to stop here. The hoagie sub was grilled & they sautéed the onions & bell peppers to dress the link. It was ok, nothing exciting. My son had the brisket sandwich which was really tender and seasoned so well he didn't need or want bbq sauce. Hubby & 7 year old shared the slab of ribs which was intimidating. It was a lot of ribs - way more than you would get from Famous Daves. It's not often you'd find a place that had good bbq & good sides. This place does. The bbq'd baked beans, creamy coleslaw, & potato salad were all good. We bought a gallon of lemonade which was a waste of $ b/c we were so full of bbq. Restrooms were clean. If you have a hard time hearing your favorite song in the restaurant, just go to the restroom; the music is way loud in there. Also, what an excellent idea to have a sink outside the restroom. Good looking out for your customers who just want to wash their hands after consuming way too much Q. All in all, really good BBQ. Just order with caution because you could find yourself with a lot of leftovers.

This was pretty good bbq. I enjoyed everything. I thought the brisket was overcooked, but it was still tasty. The Corn & Bean salad was terrific!. Another thing that was awesome about this place, is it was very clean and orderly. We ordered our food by telephone, and 10 minutes later we arrived and it was packed and ready to go!

I can't believe this is my first time eating here because the restaurant has been here for a while. That would probably be due to the first time I tried to eat here, I wasn't too impressed. This was because the young man behind the counter told me that they were out of ribs. Maaan Whaaat?! Say Word!! Lol! I believe this was about a year ago. Now tho? Now!! This place is all of it. It wasn't too crowded on a Friday evening. I guess you could say the population was at a medium rate. But when I say these ribs are off the chain... that in itself is an understatement. And the hospitality wasn't bad at all. Or I should say it was outstanding considering this area. These youngins had great professionalism. And the food came out quick too. Very clean! In other words, 5 stars folks! I can dig it.

I don't like cole slaw on my BBQ. "You don't put slaw on the pork do you?" I asked. "No," said the nice lady at the cash register. "We serve it dry." I'll say -- that's an understatement. The Q was very dry -- remedied in large part by adding a lot of sauce. (Which I don't mind.) I liked the original. Sweet and spicy was decidely not-spicy. Mac & Cheese was also dry. After hearing great things about KBQ, I was expecting better than this. And, I'll admit, it's not like there are a lot of great choices in this huge Wegman's-anchored development. I would probably pick KBQ over Wegman's food bar, Costco or Noodles & Co.

This a great local bbq joint, glad to have them in the neighborhood. The ribs are well smoked and not fatty at all. I am usually a dry rub type of guy, but I have to say, their sauces are truly great! A good mix of vinegar, spice, and sweetness...I'd put that sh*t on anything..I'm serious, if this was a bar, I'd order it on the rocks! On the healthy side, I've had their spinach, smoked turkey salad..which came with a ridiculous amount of smoked turkey, almond slivers, cranberries, and a heeping helping of spinach..delicious and healthy!

Well it finally happened I really used to like this place. Management socializes the entire time sitting on chairs laughing and crap,no one checks to see if you need anything additional forget you KBQ Barbecue with that dang dry pulled pork sandwich take BBQ tips from Parker's Barbecue in Wilson, NC.

3.25 stars. Came here, due to a recommendation from a friend. Raved about the wing 'n things. Decided to try it on my way down home. Located in the shopping center in what they now refer to 'Lanham' of thee PG County. It is towards the back facing the roundabouts...fairly odd location in my opinion. There are parking lots and areas to parallel park. Once inside, nice sized restaurant, not too crowded. If you are ordering take-out that is to be had at the bar. Menu is fairly nice sized, full of options. On this date, I decided to try the brisket sandwich. It comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Additional accompaniments such as cheese/bacon are an additional charge. There were cookies hanging around, so I tried those too. The sandwich by itself was less than 8 bucks, with a side it was additional dollar. There is a selection of sauces that come with sandwich from original, to spicy. One sauce per sandwich, and an additional fee for more sauces. Upon first glance, I was pretty hyped to try the sandwich, the ingredients looked hella fresh, and there was plenty of brisket to go around. I wanted to taste the brisket first without the sauce to see if it was really necessary, and unfortunately it was. I think my idea of brisket is something that is tender and well seasoned. It was tender, but I felt that it was really under seasoned. I chose the sweet and spicy sauce, and it was a delicious addition. In my opinion, sauce is definitely needed. The cookies, meh. It's a barbeque place, I ate one while waiting....meh. Carry on. In regards to service, the server that took my order was really sweet and helpful. Now there was another gent that came by and began to talk to me, in the midst of our conversation, he made a bit of a snarky comment. Not sure if he was being serious or joking. He went about his business before it could be addresses. I guess it was a joke, as the woman that was originally helping me laughed. Ugh...that was slightly odd, and a bit off putting. The food is okay, the prices are fair, the portions are large, the service is questionable. Not sure if I'll return.

This place is somewhere in between my GMA's cooking and some of the nicer BBQ spots that I had eaten at, while living in NYC. A very solid place to be indeed. I ordered the catfish and tried most of the sides (collards, mac & cheese, green beans, mashed yams). The catfish was on point and the standout sides included the collards and yams. The proportions are generous as well. I will definitely be back before I leave the Bowie area and will probably try the desserts.
(4)Armon R.
Found this place food to be average, seems like a lot of foot traffic but nothing too exciting. had the beans Mac & cheese and brisket. Wasn't blown away by any means, but was hungry after a long drive from NYC so... Sweet Tea was awesome though!
(3)Kristi H.
This place is close to home, otw home from the grocery story in beautiful (but congested) Woodmore Town Center. The service to go is a bit slow but the bbq is great. I get the turkey while my beau gets the brisket. They have a wide selection of your expected bbq sides and they are all pretty good. I've been maybe 5 times and they are never really busy. It makes me wonder how long they are going to last. The don't really run any promotions or sales in comparison to somewhere like Carolina Kitchen.
(4)Dani D.
I read the reviews prior to going here and I have to say they lived up to all of the great ratings! The pulled pork sandwich and fries were delicious!!! Although the prices were kind of high for a lunch take out, I will definitely return.

So I finally made it to KBQ Barbeque!! I arrived around 2pm on a weekday and there were 2 other people seated. I was immediately greeted by smiling faces and directed to a table. I went to the cashier located in the front bar area to order my food. I decided to get smoked wings, brisket with string beans, mac and cheese and corn bread. They have 3 sauces for you to choose which suits your taste palette for your meats - Sassy and Spicy, Sriracha and there Carolina style sauce. I like spicy food but today I wasn't really in the mood so I mixed the Sassy and Spicy with the Sriracha and it was good with a nice balance of a hint of sweetness with just the right amount of flavor and heat. I started with the smoked wings. They use a hickory and oak smoke that has a really, really good flavor! The combination blend of herbs and spices with the hickory and oak smoke made the wings melt in your mouth delicious! Dip in my mixture of sauce and BOOM! *mouthwatering* This is now one of my go to spots to get wings especially after finding out I can order and pick up. My beef brisket was so tender! Extremely moist and was seasoned very well. No complaints! Dipped in my little mixture of sauce and BOOYAH! Deliciousness! String Beans are cooked with little pieces of garlic and wasn't overcooked. They had a little crisp but still soft in the right places if ya know what I mean! ;-) Yes, I will order this again! Macaroni and cheese...you know how sometimes you look at mac and cheese and think *damn that's gonna be good!* Well, I had that thought but it didn't really play out like that. Don't get me wrong; it was good but it just wasn't on that level of yummy goodness I anticipated especially after tasting the rest of the food on my plate. Would I order it again YES! but i'm hoping that they adjust the recipe by a wee bit...make it a little more cheesier and add a nice topping or something. Other than my opinion about adjusting the recipe I did enjoy the mac and cheese ;-) Cornbread was pretty good!! All in all I enjoyed my experience and will be returning to try other dishes like the Banana Pudding, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Fish...yep I'll definitely be returning very soon!

Nothing but good food and good service. Came here for the 1st with my son for lunch. Quick glance at the menu and I was on the grilled catfish sandwich. Prepared perfectly. Sweet tea is, sweet tea. Lived it. #NotPaleo My son ordered the pulled turkey entre' with a side of mac n cheese and green beans. The turkey is tender with plenty of flavor. The sides also homemade with decent flavor. Still like my mac and cheese better. But this is good and made with cheddar cheese. The green beans are loaded with garlic. Good flavor. The place is clean with plenty of seating. And the service is very quick and respectful. Couple of TVs for some while you eat entertainment. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce. I guess that would be the #Carolina in me. Needed something with some vinegar base. Keep up the great work. Welcome to the neighborhood.
(4)Barry F.
I have been wanting to try this place for years and was finally able to today. We had the family platter which consisted of pulled pork, and brisket. For sides we had green beans, and mac and cheese. Very good experience. The food was very enjoyable. Very much recommend.
(4)Paul S.
Had these following items Beef brisket -- extremely dry, little to no smoke ring and was not tender at all Pulled pork - dry, no smoke ring and flavorless. Baked beans -- very delicious! Beans are not over cooked and has a nice savory sauce Mac and cheese -- nicely cooked pasta and flavorful cheese Corn bread -- best part of the meal, moist and delicious! Original bbq sauce-- yumm but had a weird after taste Spicy and sweet -- fav of everyone's Siracha -- no one used it, it had a strong strange after taste Unfortunately the sides were the best feature of this meal. Spent almost 100$ on lunch for office, will not be going back, plenty of meat left over and ended up just trashing it since it was so dry.

My first time visit was nothing earth shakening! We stopped through late night Friday after 8 PM. We found the place practically empty, but while dining at least 20+ people carried out or dined in. A very casual atmosphere with friendly service. We were told to sit where we liked and our food would be brought to us shortly. The cashier offered to provide us with samples of some of the items we considered trying, since it was our first time here. A nice toouch. :-) The service was quite quick, but the BBQ. sandwiches arrived barely warm. In my opinion it lacked a real traditional BBQ flavor even with choices of sauces, thus the disclaimer about not being Texas or North Carolina BBQ was true! Maybe on my next visit, I will try something else! P.S. The wings are party wing pieces and not whole wings, so keep that in mind when placing your order!!
(3)Maria L.
3 1/2 stars is an accurate representation of this place. Great service and interior design. Food is average. Pulled pork sandwich isn't really "pulled"; it's more like "sliced". Both the bun and the pork were dry. Brisket sandwich was good, but also dry. The sandwich portions are huge! Had the original sauce, which was supposed to be "tangy", but was overwhelmingly sweet. Sides: I enjoyed the Mac and cheese.

Ordered catering for a birthday party this past weekend. Had to come leave a review and just say how unbelievably good everything was - meat, sides AND dessert. Typically I cook for my own parties, but didn't have time. I ordered a la carte, and ended up spending about $15 a person, but could have probably spent 10-12 because everyone ate well, had several helpings and took food home and we still have plenty left this week. I will definitely be getting the catering again. I don't think I have had restaurant bbq this good anywhere else in the region. Typically I have to go home (somewhere way down south) to get 'que this good. The ribs were tender, well seasoned and not dried out (the big problem in so many other bbq joints). The smoked wings have such an unbelievable flavor - a whole pan disappeared pretty much in the first hour.

This is a good place for what it is--good, not great. I've only ever gone for lunch. The meats have great flavor--especially the chicken and ribs. I will say, their meat tends be on the dry side, so if you're for luscious fall of the bone ribs, perhaps a fast-food'estque style place like this isn't for you. I have yet to encounter one of their sides that wasn't fantastic. Their mac and cheese and broccoli salad are both amazing. Like I said, a good place, not great.
(3)Kevin S.
Excellent BBQ and sweet tea. It meets my approval, and I'm from North Carolina. The pulled pork and pulled turkey were great. My sides were macaroni and cheese and broccoli salad. Both were excellent. The pepper cornbread is the way I make it, more like cake than bread. The white BBQ sauce is more like ranch than horseradish but so good I drank what was left in the container!

First time here and I hope it's not my last. I'm from the west coast (Orange County, CA), so whenever I'm back in the DC area, I'll be back for some more KBQ BBQ. Ordered the two meat entree (brisket and pulled pork) and it was excellent. Complimented with the two sides, Mac and cheese and coleslaw and this meal was for made for a King. They have several BBQ sauces and all were good, but my favorite was the sweat and spicy BBQ sauce. Not a BBQ expert, but I was very pleased and I'm sure you will too. If not too hungry, they have smaller meals. Give it a try.
(5)Spencer H.
Okay, I'm adding a star to my previous review. KBQ has still fallen short of my 5 star rating from when they were at Fairwood in Bowie. When you order the half slab meal, you get a hefty portion of ribs and two side dishes that will feed two normal people easily. They still need to include a rib sandwich to their menu along with that delicious shrimp potato salad that they used to serve. This place is like family and you're always a little harder on your family members so I'm sure they'll get another star from me soon enough!
(3)Kevin Jiseup K.
Let me say this... The place has good food. Awesome food. Pulled pork, brisket, fries, their beans!! If I was rating just on food, definitely a solid 4 stars. It's just that the service is so bad and slow that I had to give them three stars. They also ran out of ribs and mac and cheese... at 7pm on a Monday night. C'mon! They need to employ more workers pronto and work on their system of how they're going to be bringing out their food to customers.
(3)A F.
I was excited about KBQ BBQ because my friends talked about it on Facebook and this establishment received good reviews on a local news report. When I visited on a Monday, the lines were a bit long but moving. I appreciated the staff pitching in and taking orders to ease the cue in the waiting area. The host took my dine-in orders and told me that drinks and food should arrive shortly at the table....I placed the entire order around 7pm. After 30 minutes later, the first of two orders arrived at the table. About 10 minutes before 8pm, the host told us that the kitchen burnt my chicken and had to redo the second order. I was offered a free banana pudding as a way to make up for the wait. I declined it because I don't like banana pudding and the restaurant ran out of the bread pudding. I finally received the second order just before 8pm. As I was waiting close to an hour for food (beef brisket, chicken and sides), I noticed the staff pushing through carry out orders much quickly. I wondered if I would have received better service by ordering carry out vs. ordering in. Also, there was another couple waiting for 45 minutes for their food. Overall, I was very disappointed in the level of service. I expected more. You don't have to go out of your way to visit.
(2)Rita R.
YUMMY and always hits the spot. Best smoked meats! Can't go wrong with the pulled pork, ribs, smoked turkey or brisket and sauces!!!! Sides are ok to me, probably great to others. Depends on how they were prepared for you as a child. I prefer the green beans and mashed sweet potatoes (tastes like pie filling). OH....and the CORN BREAD
(4)Penni L.
This was my first visit. When I arrived, there were only a few people ahead of me, which gave me time to carefully scan the menu. There were a variety of selections to choose from and it was hard to pick just one. Finally, I place my order of pulled pork with 2 sides and cornbread. I waited over 30 minutes for my food. However, I think it was worth the wait or I was starving. I will return to try other items on the menu, and more cornbread, it was the BEST!
(4)Andre' L.
I stopped in and got the lunch special for $9 , I asked for a brisket sandwich and baked beans I got a pulled pork sandwich and baked beans this is like the third time my order has been mixed up here I think I'm going to take a little break from kBq.
(2)Renata P.
Bought the rotisserie chicken and it was cooked well and tender but limited flavor. I was not impressed with the bbq, I had original and siracha. I'm ashamed to say but for this to be a black owned establishment the mac and cheese and potato salad was poor. I spent 19.00 for a meal for one plus a side and drink = not money well spent. Very disappointed! !!
(2)Tisha S.
the sides are good. ok that ends it.. 1. we walked in for a event that was happening there. Never been there before. They did have a sign that was chest high and on the side that said to go to the counter to order. we didn't see it. So we sat down at the tables and assumed that we was getting waiter service since every table has menus on it. after about 20 mins of having a guy in a white shirt white federal badge (who i found out later worked there) FLIRT WITH A GIRL LEANING ON A COMPUTER COUNTER WITH A cell phone hanging out her pocket and headphones around her neck watch us and the tv, a fellow party attendee told us we had to go to the counter. No customer service at all. 2. get to the counter and i felt more like i was being processed than getting my order taken. 3. there was 2 little boys running around and was even behind the bar area where there was alcoholic beverages there that they could reach. apparently this was a workers children. didn't appreciate being bumped into them has i was trying to talk to n employee. it is also very unsafe for little kids to be behind the bar getting their own drinks with access to beer bottles. 4. certain employees needed larger uniforms as i didn't like seeing red underwear or a lady's middle section and back section. 5. friend who came with me order after me, yet they put our food on the same ticket. 20 mins after i got my food her food still didn't show up..she had to go and complain to get her food. 6. another attendee of the event, the organizer, ordered a simple sandwich that took 40 mins to come out. i mean bread and meat.. 7. my food was good.. the sides were good for everyone i spoke too but my ribs were either hard and crunchy or soft but all were chewy. the brisket was good but since it was barely room temp, by the time i went to eat it, it was cold. i can't eat cold food. 8. had a convo with the owner and she is rude, and acted like she was doing us a favor for allowing us to bring the 20 plus folks to her location. she tried to test my knowledge of how a restaurant should be ran and marketing. quite a few folks agreed that they give her 6 months. she has a establishment across from where $400,000 homes are being built. why have tables if your not going to use them? 9. the place has a bunch of runners, not waiters and seemed over staffed considering it is always empty ( i go by often as i frequent the shopping center). they were overwhelmed and started yelling folks names out instead of looking for the table numbers they gave out. 10. there was no organization as you went from ordering from the bar to forming a line going towards the bathroom. then there was a separate line for drinks vs food. Now i thought this place didn't have a hard liquor license, but they were serving it. 11. they were very unorganized as they were supposed to have these drinks specials printed out and on the table. I would offer to help this owner turn her establishment around but i fear her pride is too big to accept help. they will have the same issue as the previous location that lasted maybe a year. but this isn't a restaurant, it's a to go place...with tons of seating...
(1)D A.
Finally got to try KBQ! Sooo glad i made it out there! I ordered the 6 pc smoked/grilled wings with mac n cheese and green beans. Green beans were sautéed and seasoned nicely. My boyfriend got the half rack of ribs platter with fries. The wings and the ribs were delish! Everything was very fresh and the rib platter portions were enormous! We'll definitely be back!
(5)Cedric H.
They forgot about my order and didn't apologize, had to ask if my order was ready which it wasn't and had to wait even longer bad service
(4)Eric C.
Well folks, I went back the next day 3/9/15, & truly enjoyed a wonderful plate of ribs & smoked chicken. I still don't think they're ready for an influx of people but found the food to be really good restaurant quality food. This time the wait for food was appx 13 or 14min. The following note is from the day before. At 3:30pm I went to this restaurant on Sunday, 8 March 2015 only because my brother said he'd seen it advertised on Fox-5 DC, as a good "would you eat here" place. Well while we stood in line, someone from their management team blurted out "there is a 1-hour wait for all orders & the ribs would not be ready until 5:30pm"! It's probably a great place to dine, but we hi-tailed it Outa there with the idea that the place was poorly managed, & not quite ready to appeal to such an influx of people after the TV show made them a hit. I wished that the owners & managers had the foresight to have their P&L act together to handle the masses but they didn't - and what a shame! They probably have good food but because of poor management, and poor planning they will lose good customers.
(3)Kevin S.
I got the bbq bowl for lunch, 2 sides with a protein. Brisket was moist and the mac & cheese/baked beans were great. Friendly staff. Clean. Enjoyed my visit, I'm not a local but will repeat visit. I don't typically give 5 stars, these guys were a 4+ tofay.
(4)The T.
Amazing...great food great customer service. Ribs on point. Prices are right. A must....
(5)H C.
I waited 36 minutes for the 2 meat combo and ribs. 36 WHOLE minutes at 2 PM on a Friday with maybe 4 other customers waiting on food. When 30 minutes was up the guy at the counter said only one of my meals was ready. I asked for a refund. One day I will find an African American establishment with good service in Prince Georges County. While typing this my husband just told me they charged me twice for the same order. SMH.
(1)Kevin C.
Great burger. The smoked wings were awesome. The sassy sauce good mix of sweet and spicy. Good service and friendly staff
(4)John W.
Ordered a brisket entree and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were cold when served. On a positive note, the meat was tender. Coleslaw served with the sandwich was good. Fries with the brisket were soggy. Side-salad served in a tiny dish and impossible to eat without spilling. A $25 lunch really ought to be better than this. We won't be going back.
(1)Taylor L.
If you're by 202 of FedEx field stop by here won't be disappointed good ole southern food with great home made bbq sauce this is the place pull pork was so good and the the corn bread speaks for it's self
(4)Sara W.
On a recent visit home, my mom insisted we pop in here. Boy am I glad she did! Located on the outer edge of Woodmore Towne Center, there's some parallel parking spots right in front, but plenty of parking around the corner if they're full. We walked in, and the three of us placed our order at the bar - pulled pork sandwich combo (fries), a pulled pork combo (mac n' cheese and baked beans), and a two meat combo with brisket and sausage. For drinks we went with sweet tea, but I did see some Franklin's brews on draught for next time! The pulled pork was out of this world. Honestly, I've never had a softer, juicier pulled pork in my life. Even in a pernil preparation. Fantastic. The available sauces aren't your traditional options, but they're close enough to get your BBQ fix, and inventive enough to surprise you with a different flavor. They're proud to say their BBQ isn't a replica of KC, or Carolina, or anything else. It's their own, and they've got that right. My favorite sauce choice was the sweet and spicy one, more complex flavor than the others. I gave the sriracha one a shot, and it was yummy but the sweet and spicy upstaged it! I loved the baked beans, which I suppose is a weird thing to love. Other places they're often not done well so I was very happy! The mac n' cheese was average for me, but it's one of my sister's favorites. The brisket (again, something so many places mess up) was prepared well, and the whole table really enjoyed it. It appears you can't go wrong with the meat selection here! Only thing was the sweet tea was TOO sweet for me. It's possible I'm growing soft after too long in NY, which is sad if the case. Just a head's up - get it if you LOVE sweet :). I did see they have tailgating packages, and clearly a lot of options for large scale orders. Good to know! I'd imagine it is PACKED on a Sunday morning with pick-up orders!
(4)Sarika R.
I love there food it's great. Every time I got they give me great service. The Brisket bowl is great. Also the Turkey sandwich and Mac and cheese.
(4)Christopher W.
Delicious every time I've been. Two meat entree is a a good deal. Ribs, sauce, baked beans are all stand outs. Good smoked chicken
(4)Tango H.
Omg so good! I had a brisket entree. My brisket was tender. I added the sweet and spicy sauce. That was just ok. Ordered two sides string beans were seasoned well. Mac and cheese was good but not great. And of course the sweet potatoes were exceptional. That was an extra side. Overall good bbq. Try it for urself. Don't believe these haters. Will be back.
(4)Gita G.
I have nothing but good thing to say about this place, telephone service excellent , service upon arriving excellent, I got the 1/2 rack rib meal with sweet and spicy sauce, only got one 1 sauce I personally think it should have come with 2 of them, because of all the ribs that you get . but over all very good, my new SOUL FOOD spot
(5)Kenneth H.
The best ribs I've had in a restaurant. Meaty, tender and tasty. This Is a welcomed addition to Upper Marlboro. Quality is everything and this resturant serves quality meat.
(5)Bonnie W.
I came here on a Friday afternoon to try this place out that was recommended to me by a co worker. I placed my order and went to sit down and realized later I did not get a copy of my reciept and also wondering why my coworkers had there food and not me. I went to ask about my food and the customer service was excellent. Not only did they give me a refund for misplacing my reciept and having to wait but my food finally came and it was excellent. Great customer service and good food. I will definitely be back.
(4)Victoria O.
Good vibes are flowing all over this place, especially out of the funky playlist they have on while you dine. Everything was fresh and made to order, yet speedy and served within 5 - 7 minuets upon sitting. The food was delicious and the substitution of paper towels (an entire roll per table) for napkins is a creative way to keep things clean. In the same vein, there's also an open-air sink to the left of the restaurant for when your hands get a little too messy and need some scrubbin'. The staff were warm and welcoming, and really added to my first experience at this joint. I highly recommend it and can't wait to come again!
(5)Warren J.
Ever since they closed the Bowie location a few years ago, I've searched all over the DMV area for good bbq. Each time I came away disspointed and wishing for the return of KBQ. I was greatly surprised to see them reopened in the new Wegmans Woodmore shopping center because I am always over there. I went to KBQ today and got the ribs, sausage combo with potato salad, baked beans and corn bread. Everything was as good as I remembered. Tender meaty ribs, spicy tasty sausage, flavorful beans, moist cornbread and potato salad like it supposed to taste. Know what I mean? KBQ is hands down the best BBQ around. If you smellllll what KBQ is cookin.

The place should be called ABQ (American BBQ) because there was nothing Korean about it. Although the ribs were tender, little reminded me of the Korean-used spices and flavors. Overall a decent bbq place, would visit once in a while but definitely nothing to rave about. The siracha bbq sauce was good.
(3)Aryn L.
My entire office/warehouse has been a fan of KBQ since their Fairwood Shopping Center location. We are SOOO happy they have re-opened. LOVE the pulled pork, brisket, corn bread, and baked beans.

Carryout Service April 4, 2014 Once again KBQ is kicking out some of the DC area's best barbeque ribs. Truly smoked meat, tender and pink (not brown like par-boiled ribs with sauce poured over it). Speaking of sauces, there is a choice of original, sweet-n-spicy, and sriracha sauces. Don't get all caught up in the sauce, you won't even need it. I ate my ribs without sauce so that I could savor the smoky meat. I did dip a piece of rib in the original sauce just so I could report to you about it. The original sauce is good, a little tangy but not in a vinegar way. I ordered the entree 1/2 slab meal (no I did not finish all the ribs, not even half), which came with two sides. My choice of sides was the macaroni and cheese and the seasoned green beans. Yummy!!! The green beans were cooked perfectly and not salty at all. Yaay! The mac-n-cheese was tasty too; something I would order on its own. It was not oily or overly salty, just the normal amount of salt given by the cheese. Well prepared sides. My meal also had the regular style corn muffin, it was moist but sweet. I don't like sweet corn muffins. KBQ has not lost its fine art of barbeque-ing. In fact, I think the food tastes better than before when it won so many accolades and BBQ fans. **Note: KBQ Real Barbeque was formerly located in Fairwood Shopping Center, Bowie, Md. New place, same owners.
(4)James C.
Just had lunch there. The food was barely warm. The brisket was dry and chalky, and the smoked chicken had no flavor. The potato salad was under cooked. The flavor of the mac-n-cheese was OK, but I really wish people would use real cheese and not Velveeta or American processed cheese product. Plus the prices were too high. I won't waste my money there you can get better mediocre BBQ from the hot food bar at Wegmans.
(1)Robert R.
They are back. Ribs and brisket are best in DC area. New location in Woodmore has much larger dine in area then the old Bowie location. They also have local Franklin craft beers on tap from Franklins in Hyattsville. The only reason I do not give KBQ five stars is the sides are weak. The Mac and cheese was dry and awful! But the ribs and brisket are 5 star all the way. For take out buy your meats here and go next door to Wegramans for your sides. Since they only open April 3 I hope
(4)Gracie B.
KBQ is great! I ordered the ribs, jalapeno corn bread, and their blackbean-corn salad. Meat was tender and tasty, corn bread had just the right amount of heat, and the side salad was fresh and zingy. A word about their BREAD PUDDING. It is out of this world! I was warned about its greatness, and rightly so. Gotta package that up and sell it! This family owned business is on to something here. I will go back again and bring more family & friends!
(4)M B.
I ate here today because I had heard so much about KBQ. Customer service was poor. I had a call in order and still had to wait. People who had placed orders in the store were getting their orders before mine. I had the pulled pork platter (it was good but cold), mac n cheese (bland) and sauteed string beans (bland and not seasoned well) I will give KBQ one more visit but if my experience doesn't change, I will not go back.

the first thing you will notice when you walk into a KBQ is 90% of the people in there are over 300 pounds, this includes 90% of the people who work their including the owners who have gotten their kids enslaved at this grease pit, now their kids hate working there and in turn will treat you like crap when their blood sugar is running wild because of their diet. so horrible service, i once watched the owner ocuse the only white customer of stealing and even gave him a dirty look like he was about to fight him, turns out the owner had given the man the wrong bag, he also fired all his white employees within the month i had been going there(as it was next to my gym)...I.E. he's a racist, 75% of the kitchen is barely english speaking hispanics, the rest were black, i guess that fits in with his want-to-be jazz theme. i one time saw a bonafide pimp walk in with 2 prostitutes and shake the owners hand like they were friends, and knew each other by name, the prostitutes then sat down and their hooker outfits were flashing their crotches, one random old pervy guy was sitting there staring at it like it was a steak...imagine this while (trying to) eat at a place...no surprise he's friends with cops to...all kinds of pigs stick together now the food, the food is all cooked in advance...sometimes days in advance and put half covered in a walk in freezer...mm enjoying your 4 day old rib sandwich that was cooled off and let sit a room temp all day and back in the fridge at night, for 4 days? to combat what that will do to pork they use raw grease and at every moment possible, when they pull it out, while they cook it, after they cook it, if it sits a little longer then more grease, by use i mean they have a giant ketchup style applicator bottle that they pour the grease out of, they go through gallons of this grease the food iv eaten there are the MAIN REASON im righting this, YES worse than the actual place, is the fact that the food will give any healthy person diarrhea for the rest of the day, i tried to blame it on other things and went back a few times( because it was next to my gym),so ill take responsibility for letting myself go into this place more than once, give me diarrhea once shame on you ....ect. the taste....its not better than famous daves, which says alot, its mediocre...it was only in a convenient location, the sad thing is a small black owned restaurant right across the street which sold "healthier food options" barely lasted a few months...the obese community in surrounding DC will probably keep this place afloat until they have a heart attack and their fat kids pick back up the ham bone and march on...i saw someone else posted about the girls who work their's cracks hanging out, i used to see this same thing...it aint pretty

I ordered the smoked wings, 1/2 Slab, and a pulled pork sandwich. All food was made to order and very hot when I returned home. I ordered take out on a Sunday afternoon. Food portions were certainly worth the money but they could use a little more staff. The things I believe KBQ can improve on are as follows: stop charging for sweet tea refills, ensure customers do not wait 15 min for Mac n cheese and have certain sides ready especially for the after church rush. Ribs are very good but they could use some spices but I could be spice fein lol. Hire more staff pleaseeeeee. Overall I will certainly come back, the smoke wings are a hit with me and the ribs are good too if you don't feel like making your own.
(4)Owetta T.
First visit today and was pleased with the smoked wings and sautéed green beans (not from the can). The staff was courteous and the wait was not long at all.
(5)Sharon F.
I read a lot of the reviews before my first visit. I had the pulled pork entree with the original sauce and the pork was nice and tender. I took one reviewer's recommendation and tried the baked beans. My initial reaction mirrored hers/his and they were very good. As I continued eating though, there was a strong flavor that I cannot name but it overpowered the beans. They were still better than most barbecue places but not as good as the first couple of mouthfuls. I also had the black bean and corn salad. i would go there again just for this. It was very good w/ just the right amount of cilantro. The corn was crisp and the beans were not mushy. The reason for the four stars, aside from the beans, is that the pulled pork was not hot. It was no way near hot. I purchased my meal to go and only live about 5 minutes away. The pork was in a styrofoam dish which should have help keep it warm. It didn't. The beans, which were in a plastic container outside of the styrofoam were actually warmer. Yes, I could always heat the pork in the microwave but it should have been served at a warmer temperature. If I had dined in, I would have asked them to reheat the pork. That's how cool it was.
(4)K W.
The food is decent, but the management and employees need training on customer service.
(2)Beef M.
Smoked wings are amazing, white sauce is also amazing. Tried mustard bbq sauce, was basically mustard, would not recommend that one. Green beans were reeally good and baked beans were good but a little too sweet for me. Wings were so good though, love them.
(5)Chunie B.
Food had very little flavor, long wait unpleasant wait staff. No more chances the place should be ashamed to call this real BBQ.
(1)Ryan H.
After pics and reviews, I'd thought I'd start off with smoked wings and Mac and cheese. best choice ever! Spicy and sweet sauce is bangin
(5)Lee T.
first time visit today on a recommendation. Now I recommend the pulled pork sandwich. Wow. I guess I'm not accustomed to "real" pork, cause that was juicy, hearty, and choice cut. I expected routine thin strips needing possible sifting for gristle or strange looking pork items, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm gonna try ribs next,
(5)Michelle C.
This place is amazing. From true southerner to everyone else, this place is great. The ribs aren't Carolina style, which I prefer, but they are very tasty. The cornbread is great. The original sauce on any of the meats tastes great. The green beans are also very good. I love this place. It doesn't have the long lines and crazy wait like Carolina Kitchen, and it delivers great food.
(5)Walter T.
Brisket sandwich was good not exceptional. We had the potato salad, baked beans and Mac and cheese. Going to order fries next time. Their line up of side dishes leaves a lot to be desired. Had the pulled pork sandwich also. A little dry but delicious. The BBQ sauce is the best thing they have. This one or those places that will be gone in a year or two if they don't get it together. I would come back but I wouldn't bring any out of town family members with if you know what I mean.
(3)Peggi S.
No stars! They are not going to make it closing at 7 pm in this area!! I was there Y 8:15 and they lost 4 customers so within that hour and fifteen minutes I can only imagine what money they missed! Please change your hours!! Disappointed!
(1)Sean C.
Had to get one of my oldest friends hooked on KBQ. She fell in love with the brisket and the Dreamsicle cake. I found out that the Sweet Tea is some of the best I've had, without having to travel over 200 miles south on 95. The burgers are really great, and their in house sauces are the perfect compliment to them.
(5)Chasidy P.
Smoked wings are amazing! I went there a couple of minutes before closing last night, worried the food might not be up to par because it was so late in the day. I ordered the smoked wings with the spicy sweet sauce and mac and cheese and green beans for my sides. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh.
(5)Richard I.
The smoked wings are worth the trip to this place by themselves. I have had the other meat entrees, they're all solid except for the brisket(it's too lean for my taste). The sides especially the baked beans are great. The service is lacking though. This is what happens when you don't embrace a tip culture and make even those dining at your restaurant pay up front. This place is located in one of the ritziest spots in P.G. county. Are they really that afraid of people dining and dashing?
(4)Jojo W.
Love this place! The chicken, ribs and pulled turkey are seriously awesome! Lick your fingers, suck the bones, smack your lips awesome. They also have grilled fish that's pretty good. I am a brisket lover and theirs is good enough but not great. Depends on what day and what cut of brisket you get, it's usually pretty lean and I prefer moist brisket (read that more fat). Sides are decent. But the hand cut fries and sweet potatoes are really delicious, as is the bread pudding and the mac n' cheese (it's homemade and baked with pepper to boot). Whenever I've had an issue they've gladly made it right. Good customer service is rare so that's a big plus. Definitely worth the trip, every time!
(5)Joya W.
Delicious food and great vibes. I highly recommend this place. I have eaten ribs all over the country and these are my all-time favorite. The sides and desserts also are delicious. Don't miss the bread pudding!
(5)Maria L.

(3)Angie R.
(5)Mark F.
(4)Charlie M.
(3)Dani D.
I read the reviews prior to going here and I have to say they lived up to all of the great ratings! The pulled pork sandwich and fries were delicious!!! Although the prices were kind of high for a lunch take out, I will definitely return.
(5)Andy C.

(4)Kristi H.

(3)Lantz A.
(4)Marques C.

(5)mike f.
(3)Bryan W.
(4)Summer B.
(2)Kevin Jiseup K.
(3)Kenneth H.

I stopped in and got the lunch special for $9 , I asked for a brisket sandwich and baked beans I got a pulled pork sandwich and baked beans this is like the third time my order has been mixed up here I think I'm going to take a little break from kBq.

the sides are good. ok that ends it.. 1. we walked in for a event that was happening there.

They forgot about my order and didn't apologize, had to ask if my order was ready which it wasn't and had to wait even longer bad service

If you're by 202 of FedEx field stop by here won't be disappointed good ole southern food with great home made bbq sauce this is the place pull pork was so good and the the corn bread speaks for it's self
(5)Victoria O.

(5)M B.

(4)Nila C.
(5)James C.
(4)Peggi S.
This place is located in one of the ritziest spots in P.G. county. Are they really that afraid of people dining and dashing?

the first thing you will notice when you walk into a KBQ is 90% of the people in there are over 300 pounds, this includes 90% of the people who work their including the owners who have gotten their kids enslaved at this grease pit, now their kids hate working there and in turn will treat you like crap when their blood sugar is running wild because of their diet. so horrible service, i once watched the owner ocuse the only white customer of stealing and even gave him a dirty look like he was about to fight him, turns out the owner had given the man the wrong bag, he also fired all his white employees within the month i had been going there(as it was next to my gym)...I.E. he's a racist, 75% of the kitchen is barely english speaking hispanics, the rest were black, i guess that fits in with his want-to-be jazz theme. i one time saw a bonafide pimp walk in with 2 prostitutes and shake the owners hand like they were friends, and knew each other by name, the prostitutes then sat down and their hooker outfits were flashing their crotches, one random old pervy guy was sitting there staring at it like it was a steak...imagine this while (trying to) eat at a place...no surprise he's friends with cops to...all kinds of pigs stick together now the food, the food is all cooked in advance...sometimes days in advance and put half covered in a walk in freezer...mm enjoying your 4 day old rib sandwich that was cooled off and let sit a room temp all day and back in the fridge at night, for 4 days? to combat what that will do to pork they use raw grease and at every moment possible, when they pull it out, while they cook it, after they cook it, if it sits a little longer then more grease, by use i mean they have a giant ketchup style applicator bottle that they pour the grease out of, they go through gallons of this grease the food iv eaten there are the MAIN REASON im righting this, YES worse than the actual place, is the fact that the food will give any healthy person diarrhea for the rest of the day, i tried to blame it on other things and went back a few times( because it was next to my gym),so ill take responsibility for letting myself go into this place more than once, give me diarrhea once shame on you ....ect. the taste....its not better than famous daves, which says alot, its mediocre...it was only in a convenient location, the sad thing is a small black owned restaurant right across the street which sold "healthier food options" barely lasted a few months...the obese community in surrounding DC will probably keep this place afloat until they have a heart attack and their fat kids pick back up the ham bone and march on...i saw someone else posted about the girls who work their's cracks hanging out, i used to see this same thing...it aint pretty
(1)John A.
(3)Jojo W.
