Ok so I don't usually give 5 stars after eating at a place only once. However, the tuna salad sub and fries I got here yesterday were, like, some of the best I've ever had. In fact, this is my new spot for that particular meal!! The tuna was excellent - great flavor, not too much mayo. Shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion all to perfect portions. The bread was soft and chewy, but able to hold up over night and not be mushy or soggy the next day! And the fries....oh the fries...so good, these fries. Plus, and this is RARE, I was able to microwave them the next day and still enjoy them!!! Yeah - I'm so glad this place is like a mile from my work!!

I've come here for both breakfast and lunch. Their menu is pretty basic, breakfast sandwiches and deli meat sandwiches but what sets this place apart is (1) how friendly they are and (2) the quality of their food. They use good meats and put your sandwich together with pride in what they do. I posted a pic of my breakfast sandwich. I was suprised it was on toast, but the bread was fresh and soft (and not soggy). Never have I received an item that was slapped or mashed together. It's nice to get real food with a smile.

Another Korean owned Deli in Howard County that I'm a fan of. Mike R. couldn't have said it better about the breakfast menu. What I really like about this place is that the amount of scrapple they give you is big. Bigger than the other Deli's I've been to. It's crispy on the outside and tasty in the inside! You can always get chicken, beef, and pork anytime you want but not scrapple. And usually, scrapple is ONLY sold during breakfast so I always have to get the scrapple! There is 1 thing I don't like about this place and that's their potatoes. It isn't good. Half of the potatoes I got were overcooked. And they were almost flavorless. You'd have to move the meat and bread away then put seasonings on the potatoes. Be generous with the seasonings/sauces. I got the Egg Platter and the Meat Platter with Scrapple. The eggs over easy and a side of bacon. Food was good and filling except the potatoes. Service was friendly and fast. I'm a fan!

I come here often for lunch as it's close to home. It's super fast, friendly, and most importantly delicious. Peoples are very nice and enthusiastic. Try "today's special" which is very resonable price and the portions are quiet generous. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

It's been awhile since my last visit and they've become a modern version of the carry out and sit down of yesteryear. They are polite and efficient, and the food it's hot and good. The place is also very clean. I'll start coming more often.

My review is strictly for the breakfast here. They do a great job on the grill and are quick and efficient at cranking out orders. Morning Star has a solid breakfast menu--nothing fancy by all means, but they hit all of the major areas: egg platters, pancakes, French toast, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and even burritos. My only gripe here is with their home fries. They give you a good-sized portion and are cooked well--they just don't season their potatoes at all...not even a little. So, if you are eating on the road you might be disappointed if you don't take advantage of their seasoning bar ...they offer old bay, season salt, hot sauce, salt n pepper, etc... Seasoning their home fries to your liking is a must, unless you prefer the taste of bland potatoes. Other than that, the food is great and they've consistently cooked my eggs to perfection (over easy). Another perk to this place is that it's located right next to Dunkin Donuts--you can grab a proper Morning Star breakfast then be the hero and bring donuts home or to the office!

I love this place. It's my regular lunch place and I always get one of the 6 daily specials. They all know me and the customer service is great. But most important, I love the food!!

(1/20/2014) Stopped in for a quick late lunch while running errands out in Jessup. Got a Reuben, it was piping hot, wax paper wrap was buttery from the griddled bread, piled thick with some decent corned beef and sauerkraut. Place was quiet (but it was off-peak) and kind of out in the middle of nowhere, I imagine it's a stop for the COs at the detention center nearby and the truckers from the Food Authority. Friendly, quick, impeccably clean, reasonably priced.

For a quick lunch stop you can't go wrong. Stopped in today after seeing from the road. I had the turkey club and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be making this one of my regular lunch stops.

This is a local favorite amongst the industrial/business park atmosphere of Jessup and Elkridge. A coworker told me about this place and I go once a week. They have 6 lunch specials per day which comes with chips and a drink. I love that they have an extensive menu of hot and cold sandwiches, subs, salads, burgers and let's not forget the french fries! Homemade and the best fries I've had in a long time. It's pretty cheap to swap out chips for a side of their fries and I recommend dipping them in their house honey mustard. The portion sizes are rather large and they have an extensive drink selection (besides your basic sodas, they have a Gold Peak tea dispensary with 4 different teas). All who work there are super friendly and always smiling. Seating can be hard to come along since the place is rather small, so I choose to go before the lunch rush.

Excellent stop for a fast, cheap lunch! I had the Morningstar chicken salad wrap with grapes and almonds and it was perfect. Only $6.30 and I'm quite full. Way better option than fast food chains. Place was clean and efficient, I was in and out in 5 minutes at 12:15 on a weekday. There's several tables if you want to sit and eat. I will be back and bringing coworkers!

I usually go here during my lunch break from work. However, this is not a place that I would choose to go to when I am off (only due to the driving distance and it is not worth driving that far). The staff are friendly and the service is fast being that it is always crowded here during lunch time. My only problem with this place is that the salads are made with iceberg lettuce. I wish they would at least mix it with romaine. I have enjoyed each of the sandwiches I ordered that includes the turkey club and hawaiian wrap. I also heard that their fries are good.

I had the California chicken sandwich and it was very good. I could have done without the half a head of lettuce but despite that it was something I would order again. I love their fries. They are the kind that have that super crispy skin and those are my favorite. They have a pretty decent sized menu and you can also order breakfast. Although, I don't think I would pay $1.25 for toast with butter and jelly.

Really good. Clean. Nice people. Rueben Sandwich was amazing. The fries top of the line.

Being a frequent yelp searcher, I had heard of Morning Star Deli but had yet to give it a whirl. Until yesterday when, for some reason, traffic on 175 was insane! Having an urgent need to find "facilities" I flipped around and it was the first business I came to. It was roughly lunch time so I picked up a few subs. I don't recall the exact names but they were a Philly Cheese Steak, Chicken Cheese Steak(made with thinly sliced chicken so not a good choice for little ones eating in the car) and the Morning Star Cheese Burger Sub(with barbeque sauce). Each came with a pickle spear(two of which were crunchy two floppy) then I threw in a bag of Crab Chips for good measure(potato chips with Old Bay). All were super tasty, the latter sub being my personal favorite. The place looked and smelled very clean, especially the "facilities". The staff was nice as well.

great little deli, people are friendly, food is great, chicken cheese steak is very good, and the potato salad is the best. always fresh and made to order. a little pricey but worth it.

Truth be told, my office consists of plenty of older folk... those who are uneasy about trying new/different restaurants and delis. Every Friday, we pass around a notepad and a menu of the restaurant of choice. We write down what we want, put our money in, and pass it on. Well, I was sick of ordering Pizza Boli's or whatever the choice was that week. One Friday, over a year ago, our receptionist brought up the fact that a new deli had opened up close by and had dropped off some menus. Not only that, but they delivered and their food selection was huge! So we bring up the menu to the lunch ringleader and she looks over the menu and gives her approval. Once the food came, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their sandwiches. From then on, it seemed like we were ordering from Morning Star at least 3 out of every 4 Fridays! Not only that, but some of us would even go during the week and pick up lunch. We also order Morning Star everytime we have a lunch meeting. Grant it, I haven't tried that many items from the menu, but the things I have tried I've really liked. I used to always get a turkey club with american cheese, but one time they brought me the wrong sandwich! Instead, I got a chicken salad club... I've never been a fan of chicken salad. C'mon... raisins in a sandwich? Ew. But I was busy and didn't have time to bring it back, so I ate it. Well, there were no raisins or anything remotely sweet in the chicken salad. Instead, it was just lots of chicken, some celery and mayo. YUM! I've been getting that ever since. (Goes to show that sometimes mistakes are good...) If you're a fan of shrimp, lots of people in my office really like the Bahia Shrimp wrap! The only gripes I have about Morning Star: breakfast delivery takes a bit longer than it should and they no longer give a free bag of chips with every sandwich. I think their prices are reasonable for the quality (average price for a sandwich is about $5.49 or $5.99), but they should maybe have more lunch combo selections. They do have daily specials which do include either a drink or chips/fries, but it's not listed on the menu. And because we mainly order delivery, we never know what they are.

Best turkey sandwich I ate in my life!!! Owner does an excellent job with catering! eat here for breakfast and lunch everyday!

Not quite what we were expecting, but good just the same. We stopped in for breakfast while passing through based on yelp reviews. This is a walk up to the counter, order and the food comes out in to go containers. It's fast, which is nice. Breakfast menu is limited, but all the basics are there. Hubby ordered the steak and egg platter. Not steak in the traditional sense, it was steak like you'd find in a steak sandwich. Tasty though and very well priced. Stand out was the pancakes. Fluffy and just a hint of vanilla. I love that. Previous reviews were spot on about the potatoes. No seasoning at all, but lots of choices at the seasoning bar (much appreciated) so be sure to hit it up. We'd go there again if we're in town. Lots of choices on the lunch menu.
