I had dinner here the other night. Walking in my party was quickly greeted and sat at a table. I had the crab cake, my table mate at the file mignon. We were both very happy with our selections. The price point for this restaurant is very high. The staff seemed to be board so they did way too many table check ins. Over all the staff seems very stand offish. I asked for wine recommendations and you would have thought I had three heads the way my waiter looked at me. I wasn't overly impressed. I still think I prefer the Baltimore location better.

Had dinner at The Prime Rib the other night and both the prime rib and the grilled asparagus were great. Surprised at the lengthy winelist and thoroughly enjoyed the Stags Leap Artemis...went great with the prime rib. Shannon was our server and she did an outstanding job....knowledgable and friendly, while remaining professional. Only question I have is why is wasn't busier on a Thursday evening? I think the atmosphere would have been much better had they had more of a crowd. That said....food and the service both were great.

One of the best places to go to celebrate s birthday, especially on a weekday night. You practically have the high class restaurant to yourself. I'm torn as to which steak to recommend because they are all so amazing! The Signature Prime Rib is a hefty serving and the meat is very tender. The Sirloin is more my speed, but I still couldn't finish the dish. Looking back I should have skipped out on appetizers because it was all so much and oh so good. Plus you're at the Maryland Live Casino. If you go most nights there's someone performing at Ram's Head. So now you have dinner AND a show. #Winning

Save your fortune and high expectations for the casino! We were looking forward to some luxurious prime rib, velvety potatoes, and a quality of service to be expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Sadly, the experience was as bland as the dried-up horseradish shavings adorning my plate of $40 prime rib. The calamari from their Italian menu was the best thing they served all night. Perfectly cooked calamari, garnished with the surprising zest of peppadews. Yum! We both ordered the signature cut prime rib, medium rare. What we got was a slight dry, medium well prime rib, garnished with a side of pre-grated horseradish and a couple tablespoons of jus. Our potato gratin was a sad sad bowl of insert expletive. We waited oh so patiently for that velvety and cheesy potato accompaniment, to help me forget the mediocrity of the prime rib. Sadly, it didn't live up to the hype. Undercooked and under-seasoned. And the service, or should I say, what service? Our server failed to do the minimal tasks of filling up our water, not slamming the plates on our table when they brought it over, and clearing away our dirty plates after new dishes were brought. He assumed that my choice of wine as the cheapest on the list, insinuating that best was not cheap. No, actually... I was just trying to make up my mind on whether I wanted a glass of wine versus a bottle. Rude. Slow. Pretentious. Abysmal. It reminded me of an Outback Steakhouse experience years ago. Except we didn't pay $200 for the meal/wine for two. It would take A LOT of convincing and perhaps a glass of really good vino for me to give Prime Rib another try. No jackpot here!

We were treated like royalty at The Prime Rib by the Asst Manager Brian and our waiter Scott. The food was the best we have ever had. Prime rib was full of flavor, lobster tail cooked perfect, filet mignon cut like butter. Brussel sprouts and artichoke hearts were very good also. The dessert menu was lacking anything special but everything else was great. Made our special evening even better.

Service was great . The food was excellent especially the oyster Chesapeake . Steak was exactly the temp I asked for and the cigar bar was great to smoke in after finishing the meal

If you want to "fine dine" in Anne Arundel County that's not Annapolis, then this is just about it. Located in Maryland Live Casino, The Prime Rib is banking on the winners to come in and spend some of their soft earned money. What are you really paying for when dining at this Prime Rib? Mostly you're paying the extra money so you don't have to eat at the over crowded Cheesecake Factory which is also located inside of the casino. Or maybe you're paying for the big grand piano in the dark and cozy lounge area. Perhaps it's the attentive service and super friendly host. This is my second time dining here and I enjoyed my previous meal (lamb chops) better than my latest (prime rib). I figured I'd try something different since the cut I normally order when dining fancy is the bone-in Ribeye.. I should have stuck with that because this Prime Rib was abnormally fatty (see photo). I did enjoy the Jumbo shrimp cocktail which were fairly priced (6 for $18). Since we're now talking price, let's stay with it. My date ordered the smallest $36 chicken breast that I have ever seen. Because she doesn't eat crab, it looked especially overpriced without the crab topping that it's supposed to be served with. Good thing I had them put the crab chucks on the side because I tore it up.. Damn tasty! Their Bone-in Ribeye was definitely overpriced when compared to other high end Steakhouses namely BLT Steak where they offer a 22oz bone-in for $48.00. Here you're getting a much smaller cut for $56.00. Since I'm Monday morning quarterbacking, here it is. If this place was on a street where there was a Mortons, Capital Grille, Del Frisco's, Ruth Chris or BLT Steak then I wouldn't think twice about coming into the Prime Rib but since their only competition is the Cheesecake Factory, I'm sure I will return someday, I just don't know when.. Lol

So my honey did well (despite the snowblizz trying to get in the way) with his quick choice. He was able to get a reservation on the big vday on the same day and was set. When we arrived parking was quite ridic per usual. We're use to the casino being ridic for every event. We had to wait a few minutes for our reserved table to be ready, but it was still a smooth transition for the kind of traffic there was going on. The dining room was quite spacious and almost made you forget you we're even in the casino, which I liked. Our water and waiter intros was quite quick and smooth. The Prix Fixe Valentine's Menu was nice with 4 courses. We both went with the Lobster Bisque (smooth and perfect for the cold night) then he the Caesar salad and I oysters. By the 3rd course, we noticed again how well the night had moved thru the courses making it a truly enjoyable night. Our steak and lobster were perfect and the fourth course we went opposite with him getting chocolate covered strawberries and I the lava cake which we're both good. Overall for the night being crazy with the snow, crowds, etc; it was very enjoyable for us and I was delighted!

Thanks to Sean, the barback and server, I had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had in a long time! Everyone knows they'll get a great meal when going to "The Prime Rib". The only variable could be the level of service. In my experience I'd ask specifically to be waited on by Sean. He was by far the most welcoming and willing to provide a 5 star experience. As well, notable mention would be Liz the bartender. She is attractive, engaging, hard working and attentive, all you could ask for from a bartender. bon appetite

Had the pleasure of dining here for my cousin's birthday party on November 8 and I must say I am a fan of this restaurant. When I first arrived I felt a little under dressed because it felt as if I had stepped into a five star restaurant. The interior is gorgeous and the space is more than appropriate. When you walk in the bar is to your right and in the middle are tall bar tables. In front, you are greeted by a beautiful and large glass center that holds the wine throughout the restaurant. Towards the back is more comfortable seating on the side and there is an outside lounge for private parties. Once I made it to my cousin's table it was in the middle of the glass wine casing. It was absolutely gorgeous and once the doors closed the loudness of the restaurant was completely muted. Already placed on the table were an ample amount of butter and biscuits. I didn't try any (trying to watch the carbs) but the appetizers and the entrees were to die for. Our server knew exactly what to bring to the table. He loaded us up on sear ahi tuna paired with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce (I finished the plate by myself), crab legs with melted butter, a seafood platter medley of lump crab meat, lobster meat, oysters, crab cakes, and lobster toast. The table fell silent after each bite and we enjoyed everything on the table. So much so that by the time the food came we had filled ourselves up but no worries we made some room for more My choice of entree for the evening was the Chilean Sea Bass in a Lemon Blanc sauce and a side of family style artichoke hearts. The fish was a nice hunk of meat with great smooth texture and the sauce added a great finish to it. The artichokes were a bit salty but not drowning in butter and oil. I recommend this dish to anyone who is just trying out the restaurant for the first time. Now of course this is a restaurant known for it's steak and I see why. For the people who ordered rib eyes, filet mignons, and T-Bone steaks they covered the entire plate. I am a firm believer you will not leave disappointed. I had a taste of the filet mignon and it melted in my mouth. Not too tough, just enough red and char to keep my taste buds wanting more. The sides of choice were lobster mac and cheese (winner), sauteed spinach (winner), creamed spinach (winner), corn (winner), and french fries fried in duck fat (not a winner). Desserts ordered were chocolate cake (winner), bread pudding (winner -- I ordered 1 to go and loved it even more the next day), key lime pie (winner), and pecan pie (this was an overall winner it is a true old traditional pecan pie sweet and decadent with pecan in every bite). The con I could find...well there were no cons it was my first visit and they made a fan out of me. Maybe one day I will go back and try the bar area and order were they plate sized steaks and enjoy the evening. I definitely will be returning

Nice atmosphere. Sides were pretty good. The server took a long time to come and get our order after we ordered drinks. The food was okay, but my prime rib was cooked at a medium rare, at best, while I ordered medium. After putting our food order in it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to arrive. Didn't expect dinner to eat up 2.5 hours of our night.

Because we didn't want to deal with the hassle of downtown Prime Rib, we decided to come to this one. We ordered the calamari for appetizer, iceberg lettuce w/ blue cheese dressing salad and lobster bisque soup. The calamari was very well cooked, crispy but not too crispy and the calamari was tender. The iceberg lettuce was fresh and the soup was good too. What really surprised us was the size of our prime rib. I ordered the small version and the guys ordered the bigger one. When they brought it out, everyone around our table was staring at the huge size of our prime rib. The bigger size one was about 2 inches thick and big enough to cover someone's face. Mine was about the same size but about 1 inch thick. We also ordered side dishes, sauteed mushrooms, asparagus, smashed potatoes. I didn't care too much for the mushrooms because I think they sliced it too small and it was a bit on the salty side. The only downside of this place I would have to say is the noise and the smell of cigarette smoke. Close to end of dinner, I had to cover my face with my scarf until everyone was ready to leave. As much as I was impressed with their prime rib, I'm not sure if I would come back due to the smell of cigarettes. I absolutely can't stand that smell. I guess it's expected since it's part of the casino.

Enjoyed a great meal, wine and cigar tonight! Jonathan, our server was excellent. We were seated on the smoking patio; my favorite spot in the restaurant. Jonathan made sure we were comfortable the entire time. I also loved my Oysters Chesapeake and side of Brussel Sprouts. Any cigar smoker, like myself would come back again, and again. The fireside atmosphere is the best! Especially for date nights.

So i met a bunch of girls from work here....i had read the yelp reviews and was not too hopeful. However, i got out-voted. I give two stars for our waiter, who i can't remember his name..sigh. An older gentleman. Also, for the oysters we had as an appetizer. They were the VA ones and some of the best i have had. I got the prime rib, cream corn, duck fat fries, cream spinach. Outback's prime rib is better and WAY less expensive. The cream corn was....swimming in milk almost. The duck fat fries tasted like Mcdonalds. Go to Victoria's instead! Everything was just MEH! Nothing was HORRIBLE. But you are paying top dollar for this stuff and i expect the food to be much better. I will def opt for ruth cris, capital grille next time. I wouldn't go back here. I posted pics. Sorry prime rib! I wanted to believe in you! The atmosphere was nice. They also lacked a cocktail list. I like signature cocktails etc etc. Vast wine list, though.

It seems to be a love and hate relationship about this place, I didn't love nor hate the place. My date and I came on a Thursday night for a nice dinner before we test our luck at the tables. Luckily we went home with a little somethin somethin!... Anyways, it was our first time at Prime Rib's and we wanted to try a variety of things. So we order basically order everything off the menu. Jk For starters, we ordered the lobster mac&cheese, the seared tuna, and a half dozen of oysters. Then for our entree, we ordered the surf & turf (crab cake & filet mignon) and a few side dishes. The steak was a bit on the dry side even though we ordered it medium rare, but all-in-all the food was mediocre,... would I come back? I may give it another try sometime in the future. Hopefully the quality of the food has improve at that point. Although the food was very ordinary the service was decent. Our server was very attentive to our needs and making sure everything was okay.

I love The Prime Rib at Maryland Live Casino. I had my sons 22nd birthday dinner there a party of 8. Pablo our server was very accommodating. I also like to go there and sit in the bar area, you don't have to be as dressed up as the one downtown. I like that!!! Next to Ruth Chris it's on my top 3.

I would give this a five star if the services was better, the four star is for the food.I have eaten here numerous of time (8) the prices is high but the quality of foods is fantastic, not so much with the service. I always had the same old Spanish man waiter. He is a horrible waiter, he rush us every time we get there maybe because we get there late in the evening because of our work schedule. After he rush us to order he disappear for a while until we wave down another waitress to help us then he show up for the check. I pretty much have tried everything from the menu but was never disappointed with the food. They really need better server's. The restaurant is pretty dark but the eating areas is spacious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is a steak lovers.

Good service and nice atmosphere. Loved the floor to ceiling wine shelves. The seafood bruschetta was wonderful and includes good size pieces of lobster and crab. My filet mignon was good and tender. The rub/seasoning on it provided enough flavor and slight char. My husband's ribeye was also tasty and but had a stronger chargrill flavor than the filet. I recommend the brussel sprouts with bacon as a side. The duck fat fries were very lack luster and I couldn't taste the duck fat--go with another potato option. One plus is that you can valet your car and the restaurant will comp the $20 fee. Our meal was good but it's really over priced, and I don't think we'd return unless we won big!

I love fine dining and I dont mind paying top $ as long as it meets my expections. Prime rib lacked the the flavor we were expecting. Prime rib was ordered medium well but it was charred and bland, salmon I could have seasoned it better myself. $180 for two was just too much with no satisfaction for us. Clydes is on top of my list right now.

Wow, I can't believe how bad the rating is for this particular location. The rating seemed to be on the opposite ends of the spectrum for many reviewers; either they loved it or they hated it. Had a descent overall experience here and tried a good portion of their menu. Located inside of Maryland Live Casino in the front lobby, it's the first restaurant you'll see on your right if you enter through the main entrance.Came here with friends for dinner because we wanted to stay local and play some slots afterwards. It was a win-win situation for us.The venue of the restaurant was dazzling and chic, and our server was extremely attentive; service was great! As usual, I have the tendency to over order when trying out new restaurants because I hate not knowing what's good and what isn't, so I just order everything! I arrived about 10-15 minutes before my friends did, so I decided to order appetizers first for everyone and it came out just in time. For starters: I had their - Lobster Bisque. this is MONEY. very rich and creamy, and had just the right amount of lobster -Dozen of Oysters on the Half Shell: The oysters were so fresh, they left this sweet after taste. However, I was not happy with the size of their oysters. They were kind of puny and disappointing. For $33/dozen I expected some descent size oysters. -Lobster Mac'n Cheese: I thought it was good but not amazing. My friend on the other hand, thought it was the best lobster mac'n cheese he's ever had. -Jumbo Cocktail Shrimps: Aside from the amazing size of the shrimps, it was pretty ordinary; nothing special about it. -Sesame Seared Tuna: the tuna was so tender, it nearly melted in my mouth. good choice! came with soysauce, ginger, and wasabe...Asian style! Our main course: On the Surf and Turf section of the menu, I ordered their Lobster Tail & Filet Mignon. The lobster was huge and my filet came out perfectly medium rare. I was pleased with my choice. It was very simple; came with a cup of melted butter and half a lemon. We also ordered their Prime Rib and Chilean Sea Bass en Papillote. The steak was also perfectly grilled, medium rare, and the Chilean Sea Bass was bland but still very good. The sea bass was lightly infused with the flavor from the leaves it was wrapped in (worth trying). Sides: creamed spinach, creamed corn off the cob, sauteed mushrooms, baked Idaho potato. They were all very good. I've learned that sides at steak houses tend to never disappoint. As for dessert, we ordered their crème brulee and pecan pie. Decent. We paired our meal with a bottle of red wine... satisfying meal.

This was my first time visiting The Prime Rib 6/20/2015. We did not have reservations but we were invited to sit at the bar. Myssie was the bartender and our server. Since none of the three of us had ever been there she gave some great suggestions. We had an 18 oz Prime Rib and Lobster Mac & cheese, Brussel Sprouts with Lardon and Hand-cut Duck Fat Fries(WOW). It was a FABULOUS MEAL! Myssie was very personable and we enjoyed our conversation with her. Then top it off she suggested the cupcake with candied bacon....What? Yes it was he greatest end to a Wonderful meal. We truly enjoyed this fine dining experience. Thank You Myssie we will be back!!

For my 600th review, a review of a special occasion. Dined there to celebrate my dad's ____th birthday! We've all been to the downtown Baltimore Prime Rib before and agreed that this location was not as good, not as special but that the prices were just as high. My father enjoyed his steak. I wasn't feeling well and ordered fish, which was tasty but I wasn't qualified to judge correctly. It seemed bland, but bland was what I required that night. My mother had the prime rib, which she declared the "worst piece of prime rib she had ever had." She mentioned this to management who did not see fit to take it off the bill. Absolutely loved the creamed corn and the scalloped potatoes were also quite tasty. The service was decent but lacked that warm, welcoming "honored guest" feel you get at the Baltimore location. They are probably, at this one, used to serving drunken casino guests who have just hit "the big one" on Zeus II and are spending that money to celebrate. Also the dress code is way too lax here for a fancy steak house with $50 steaks. People in shorts and jeans? No honey, no. They should be redirected to the food court in the adjacent mall. On other occasions I have visited the bar here. It's a pleasant place to grab a drink while visiting the casino. A lot more calm than the bar within the casino, and they have live piano music every night. Also, you can actuallly take drinks from the Prime Rib's bar out into the casino, you just have to switch to a plastic cup. They also have an outdoor smoking area at the Prime Rib, which no one seems to know about. It's loungy, in a back porch kind of way. Good place to relax (except for the smell of smoke).

This was my first time and I have to say it was a great experience thanks to Shannon! She was very educated about the menu and made a GREAT suggestion on the swordfish with teriyaki sauce and steak for my date! The steak was nicely cooked and the swordfish was delicious! (Kudos to the kitchen staff also) They even gave me the ingredients to the steak sauce and some extra teriyaki sauce for my left overs (I am a huge sauce person). So thank you again for such a great night!!

They have a good selection of wine list. Overall, this place is a 3 1/2 rating. The service is a 3 and I think the management needs to train the staff with a proactive servicing skills...such as getting me a clean plate before putting out the next course or asking the customer "would u like Milk or cream for your coffee". How about explaining the difference between a full cut prime rib and regular cut? I would have never order the full cut if I knew it can serve a family of 4!!!! The King Crab leg is excellent and the steak dishes are not bad. I would not spend this type of money at a steakhouse inside of a casino unless it's in Vegas or Atlantic City.

Shannon did a fantastic job recommended the swordfish and oh my gosh! It melted in my mouth. We are out of towers and she was extremely attentive, courteous and friendly. Loved thar! Great meal great service great atmosphere! Thanks Shannon for a lovely time.
Service was pretty good for us. Lots of folks said they had problems and I was hesitant, but in the end was very satisfied.

This was my 2nd time ever going to the Prime Rib. I went once with my fiancee and her mom when she graduated college. That time around, we went to their main location in the city and while we all thought that the food was good we were really disappointed by the waiter. We had paid with a groupon and he gave us the biggest attitude about it. He was also annoyed because her mother didn't order because she was feeling under the weather. When our food came she took a small piece and he came over and snidely remarked, "Oh I'm glad you're feeling better." This always left a bad taste in my mouth. So, why did I ever go back? Well I am a regular poker player at Maryland Live, so I had saved my comps to try their new 2nd location out. The Prime Rib's ambiance is upscale to the point of being pretentious. The restaurant is pristinely clean and the bartender who greeted me was really phenomenal. I ordered the normal cut Prime Rib and a side of fries on the bartender's recommendation. My first thought after looking at the menu was Holy Price Gouging. I am by no means cheap. I have eaten at a couple of very high end steak restaurants in Chicago (Gibsons) and New York City (Mortons) and the Prime Rib was as expensive as both of those places. My expectation is now high because those were two of the best meals I have ever eaten. My steak comes out and I would describe it as "not bad." I thought that it was underseasoned and I can honestly say a restaurant back in New Jersey that my Grandparents love going to makes a comparable plate for $25. I was really underwhelmed. The fries (a separate a la carte side dish that cost $10) came out in a gigantic portion. I would say too gigantic. I likewise, found them unimpressive. They looked exactly like fast food fries that you would get at a McDonalds or Burger King. I couldn't tell if they were hand cut or frozen (I'm thinking the latter) and the fact that it wasn't obvious to me that they were made from fresh potatoes should say something. When I go to a steakhouse that is charging this, I expect real steak fries. If the prices were more reasonable, I would have given this 3 stars based on the good service and setting, but I really cannot justify that given the quality of the meal you receive based on that price. This is easily the worst value restaurant I have ever been to in my life.

Came in on a poker break to have cocktail. Then low and behold, after talking with a server, i found out that they had cigar patio. I just so happened to have one of my favorite stoggies in me pocket. A great server named jodi told me about all the new craft beers they just got in and which were her favorites. I ended up hanging out there for three hours. nice place to have a smoke.

For upscale restaurant to be upscale 2 components must be in place. The 1st being service, I have never seen more poorly trained waitstaff in my entire life. Appetizers coming out and then the drinks arrive a half an hour later, I could see that the other way around. For $980 you'd expect great service if I was spending $20 on dinner. I can accept marginal service. But for this kind of money I expect service that goes far beyond what would normally be expected. If you're planning a meal at this restaurant, I would certainly think twice. The 2nd component is the quality of the food, I've eaten in the finest restaurants in the world, and the food here is mediocre at best, considering the price and the service this restaurant is not even lone Star. This restaurant is definitely a skipper.

Great service!!!! However the food was TERRIBLE!! 5 star service, 1 star for the quality and the taste of the extremely overpriced food. The fries and the bread were over salted and just nasty. The prime rib really wasn't fresh or tasty. The water tasted strange, but the chocolate peanut butter Duclaw beer was great. I knew after the bad water and bread that this place wasn't detailed orientated but still was keeping an open positive mind about the prime rib, which ended up being an epic FAIL. Was wondering why this place had only senior citizen clientele at the bar. If this place was 85% cheaper, then I wouldn't have been so critical. I would have rather paid $100 at the cheesesteak place in the mall or Sbarro. The chief or owner needs to go to RuthsChris, STK, SteakN9ne to see what steak is supposed to be. Serving terrible food at riduculous prices especially to people that don't know the difference which is about half the people who reviewed this place is instant bad karma in book. If this company had stock, I would short the common like Bill Ackerman is doing God's work shorting Herbalife. I don't think even Gordon Ramsey could change this place around. This is what happens when you pay your cooks $15 an hour.

We had a lovely dinner at The Prime Rib last night. Our server, Scott, was perfect. He was friendly, attentive (but not overly) and was very knowledgeable. We tried some items from the new Italian menu. The beef carpaccio was to die for - served with an egg and olive oil. My sister had the Aragosta Francesca con Fungi (lobster tail over mushrooms, pasta, etc - so amazing! The NY Strip is my go-to and never fails. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and seasoned just right. We had the creamed corn and artichoke hearts for our sides - always delicious. While the food was wonderful, the staff really goes above and beyond to ensure a perfect evening.

I have been to this location many times now but haven't gotten around to reviewing until now. I am so surprised with the low rating! The service in the dining room is always very attentive and professional. The staff work really well as a team. Dining on the patio can be slower and less attentive, but I've mostly had positive experiences. My favorite server is Samir. He is always so warm, efficient, and professional. My group tends to dine pretty late, so its never busy on the nights that we go - and on days like Valentines Day, we make sure to have reservations. I mean, come onnn. We have tried many things on the menu and our favorites include: - Prime rib - New York strip - Charcuterie appetizer - J gets it every time. Served with raisins on the vine (cool!) - Filet Mignon - Lobster tail - Crab cakes - probably the best I've had. Loads of crab and very little "cake" - King crab legs - SO SO GOOD - Oysters appetizer - Burgers/fries - Lobster mac n cheese side - Seared tuna appetizer - Smoked trout appetizer - Steamed clams in lobster broth appetizer - Chocolate cake - endless thin layers of yellow cake and chocolate frosting. HELLO. I am not a fan of the following: - The whatever fish with imperial crab topping - ordered it my first visit - boring. - Chicken Oscar - weird flavor, some parts of chicken a bit spongy/slimy *shudder* - Lobster bisque - a bit too salty, not enough lobster flavor - Pork belly - J says not tender or flavorful enough - Miso Chilean sea bass - under seasoned, boring. - Lavender vanilla ice cream - comes on the side of bananas foster. Not enough lavender flavor My first time here I wasn't particularly wowed, but once you figure out what you like, it only gets better from there.
This was by far the WORST that I've ever had! Don't let the decor fool you. This is a bootleg wannabe upscale restaurant. The black sea bass was TERRIBLE and very BITTER. The roasted artichokes were obviously canned. The fries in duck fat looked as if they'd been sitting out forever and were bland. Oh and their prime rib...something that SHOULD be the best dish on the menu was the worst, toughest, fattiest FLAVORLESS hunk of meat ever!! The service was great. But I wouldn't even feed this food to a dog!

There aren't too many places that make question: why I am dining here? Why I just spent $75 on myself? Wtf.... I had came in for a lobster bisque, not wanting anything too filling. The bisque itself is sort of unmemorable, tasteless, and left me confused for a $20 dish why was it so sub par. I also sat at the bar, which kindly i'll redeem as pretentious. For the wine drinkers there is a great variety in their glass cellar, and is a focal point for the dining room. As a beer geek I highly was disappointed, the same taps in the casino where inside of PR (Bud products...and Blue moon not really the best beers, oh and old dominion stout). Entertainment for the bar its the two piece swing jazz band, loudly overplaying and for some reason in the bar and not the dining room.... I've been to many steak houses throughout the US, and I'd rank this one near the bottom; mainly because of the service I got. Just awkward, and unclassy. Watching the staff congregate around the bar making fun of their clients (nothing against that, but I don't want to hear it dining) made for an uncomfortable dining experience, I'll go to Fleming's Baltimore next time. 2-stars.

This location is in the Live Casino's front lobby. Beautiful inside, extremely large bar with high top tables and bar seats. Food service at the bar is comfortable, bar chairs are also comfortable. Chad was working last night and enjoyed his customer service. All of the employees at the bar were professional as well as helpful. I enjoyed the Clams Casino (twice), Buzz's Salad: Romaine, tomato, avocado, and chopped egg. The live music was soothing to the ears. I'll return to this location very soon.
My husband and I love great steaks and our favorite places are Ruth Chris and Flemings. But we also like to try new places and decided to try The Prime Rib after reading reviews about the Baltimore Prime Rib. Unfortunately I assumed this place was run by the same people as the Baltimore Prime Rib. It wasn't until we were seated that we learned that the Casino location is not actually owned and run by the same people, and the casino just have license to use the name and have a similar menu. I wish I read the reviews for THIS restaurant before bothering. The restaurant was beautiful, and the staff was good, but the food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered a caesar salad which consisted of limp lettuce, a few strings of cheese, and 4 croutons. A very uninspired dull salad, something that might be a packaged side salad from supermarket. My husband's lobster bisque was very watery. We chose the asparagus which they piled high but were kind of overcooked and limp. The roasted artichoke hearts were ok but didn't seem "roasted" to me. At least there was no evidence of roasting. Frankly they didn't seem any different from canned or from a jar. I ordered a filet mignon and my husband ordered dry aged NY strip. They were both barely warm. When I cut into mine, it was tender but completely dry...no juice at all! The NY strip was chewy. Both lacked seasoning except for the highly unfortunate smear of some sauce that they drizzled all over the plate. Both steaks sat in the middle of this sauce and because it was all over the plate, you couldn't avoid it. It looked like Hershey syrup and tasted kind of sweet so perhaps it was some kind of mole? Whatever it was it clung to the steak and overpowered what little flavor the meat had. We tried to get rid of it by wiping it away with a piece of bread but couldn't get rid of it all. To cover the taste I decided to add some salt but this one of those places that don't put salt and pepper on the table- I find this practice annoying and pretentious. There were other little things...things that would never happen at Ruth Chris or Flemings... but I won't bother... suffice it to say if you are looking for great food and want that "boy that meal was well worth the price!" experience, don't bother with this restaurant. Its more of a "well we won't make THAT mistake again" place.

I read the reviews on Yelp before going to Prime Rib my first time. I wasn't too excited but I had nothing else to spend comp dollars on(the Buffet is horrendous). I feel like I went to a different restaurant than everyone else did. I have a strong feeling that the service greatly varies each day depending on who is working/cooking. Food: I have been with 5 other people. The 4 of us that ordered steak were very happy with the quality of the food. The 1 guy who ordered the salmon was disappointed. Don't get anything other than steak here. The ribeye, porterhouse, and filet mignon were all great choices. A little on the pricey side for what you get, but certainly delicious. Service: The waiters were attentive both times that I've visited Prime Rib. The problem that I encountered was with the use of comp dollars. The first time I went, I used them with no problem. The second time, our waiter took a long time and then eventually brought over the manager who told us that they did not generally accept comp dollars but would make an exception. I was very surprised at the hassle they gave us, especially since I didn't encounter any problems on my first trip. My experience on the second trip basically confirms that your dinner experience here will vary depending on the competence of the employees who happen to be working that night. Considering the other Yelp complaints about the poor food, this variance seems to apply to the chefs, too.

First off, this is a steak house along the lines of Morton's or Ruth's Chris. This is not like Long Horn or Outback. If you are looking for an inexpensive steak--don't come here. I'd also say stay away from Morton's or Ruth's Chris. This location of The Prime Rib is recently opened in the Maryland Live Casino. I've been to the downtown location of TPR and I'm a fan of the food and atmosphere there. (Bonus, it was in The Wire). This location maintains the theme of black leather and gold accents, keeps the piano player, but instead of being in a dimly lit basement it is in a high-ceiling, open space. You end up feeling less confined. We had the oysters, lobster bisque, prime rib and broccoli rabe. The food was excellent, as you would expect. The service was very good. The pecan pie was great as well. If you had to choose--I'd say go to the original location in Mt. Vernon. But, if you are in the Hanover area--this is easily your best option for miles. Everything else is standard chain fare e.g. Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Long Horn, etc. There is nothing wrong with chains per se, but if you are looking for something unique and don't mind paying more for quality, go with The Prime Rib.

I took my entire family to the Prime Rib at Maryland Live! on Christmas Eve. What a great dinner. I ordered the special, the skirt steak and it was cooked to perfection and very tasty, a must try. Others in the party had the King Crab legs, Salmon, and the Rib eye. Everyone seemed please with their choices. The server was prompt, attentive and was very well trained. We ended the night with some deserts, I had the berry crips which was a nice compliment to the steak. Light and cold. Overall, everyone enjoyed the dinner and it was a great time out.

Went to the Prime Rib for the first time last night. I've been to high end steak houses like McCormick & Schmick's before, so I had high expectations for the Prime Rib. But my entire Prime Rib experience left me feeling very unimpressed and underwhelmed. While the food was not bad I also didn't come away feeling like I had one of the best steaks in recent memory. I had a dry-aged NY strip steak that I asked to be cooked medium-rare. What I got was closer to medium to medium-well. In addition my side order of roasted asparagus was overwhelmed with salt. The service like the food was just OK. Our server was preoccupied with one of her 'regular' customers and spent most of the evening at their table. During our meal she barely looked our way and I had to flag her down to get her attention. Mind you this was on Wednesday night and not during a busy weekend. The quality of the food and service are definitely not commensurate with the prices they charge and with the image that the Prime Rib is trying to put out. Honestly, the taste of the NY Strip I had was about on par with a steak that I could cook myself or get at my local Longhorn steak house.

I have to update my review the last few times that we came here we ordered the cheesy potatoes and they were so bland, no flavor?? Cheese with no flavor, horrible. I told the waiter & they brought us out another, same sad story. It's a shame they couldn't get this correct because it's such a wonderful & favorite side dish of mine with a nice juicy steak.

Talk about getting off on the wrong foot...immediately. Upon entering (6:00 reservations) the hostess quickly waved us off to the lounge so that our "table could be set for us". Instead we went to the restrooms, and of course we saw that the place was empty and all the tables were ready. Arghhhh. How stupid do you think we are? Upon returning I saw a gentleman standing near the entrance and asked him if there was any reason we had to wait for our table. He looked shocked, said no, and immediately seated us. The wait staff was pleasant but nothing special. We ordered some Kettle One martinis to get our evening back on the right foot. They arrived promptly but were miniscule. I am glad we ordered the olives on the side as this glass certainly did not have any room for them. A manly steakhouse serving tiny martinis? Blasphemy. The pricey menu was a pretty standard one found in most prime beef establishments. We both ordered the smaller cut of the prime rib for $36 bucks a piece. The sides, as usual were a la carte so we got the duck fat fries and the sauteed mushrooms. Knowing how the size of servings can be generous we opted out of ordering salads or appetizers. Right after placing our order, a server came around and placed an "amuse bouche" in front of us. It was the perfect size but tasted like lunchmeat on a salad crouton. Shortly thereafter, another one arrived by a different server and she made it a point to explain to us in a somewhat condescending and chidish tone the meaning of this tiny tidbit that sat before us. Hint to server, don't assume that every customer is a culinary virgin. (Anyway, this crouton tasted like the last one with different lunch meat). Finally, the piece de resistance arrived. Even with the soft lighting, we kind of were taken aback with our beef. A nice cut for sure, but it looked more like a turduckin..... you know the deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck stuffed into a deboned turkey. The outer rim of the meat was well done, the layer next was medium, the next, medium rare. That was my piece. My husband's had that same grey ring around his but the center was downright bloody rare. He ordered his medium and I medium rare. As an avid home chef, I could not even fathom a technique that would yield such results. It was amazing how the staff disappeared during our meal. We tried several bites by surgically trimming our beef, but sadly we were just very disappointed. We devoured the fries as we had nothing much else to eat. They were good -hot, salty and crispy but nothing earth shattering. When the server finally appeared we told her we were finished but also mentioned to her our dismay about our prime rib. She said nothing, left and returned our hefty portions in a plastic take away container. Speechless. Sure you are a new place and there are kinks, but this was an outright disaster. I'll spend my money on the stingy slots before I put out any more cash on this place.

I chose the Prime Rib signature cut medium rare and it most definitely wasn't. It was more well done by prime rib standards. I didn't get a refill of tea until after we were completely done eating. It took a full 15 minutes for the waiter to come by after I had stopped eating and even then I had to stop him as he was trying to walk away and ask for the rest of my meal to be packed up. The best thing we had were the brussel sprouts. They were perfect. I wish with all my heart (and the $150 we spent) that we had just gone to the Cheesecake Factory. :(

After the play off with the Ravens and the Patriots. I took my friends to have a glass and appetizers. Well, I ended up spending $121 plus tip on some sorry service and cold food. ServSafe teaches you that your food should be served at certain temperatures, before serving. The crab cakes we order was warm and any seafood should be a least 145 degrees .Your kitchen manager is not doing a great job checking the quality of the product before it goes out to customers. The server we had wasn't on point, he needs to go to a class for proper etiquettes. the Restaurant Association Maryland give classes on Servsafe and Professional Server Training. Check them out. Such a nice place, but quality in all areas needs improving.

Service here is horrible. HORRIBLE! You're paying new York prices at a sub part steak house at a horrible casino in the suburbs. Anyway, no big deal, but service was inexcusably horrible. Order a bottle of wine and it takes 20 minutes to show up. Waitress pours, tries to skip decanting. First of all in a restaurant like this a sommelier should pour the wine. Don't pour for everyone at the table. They don't bus the table as you dine so end up with empty glasses and dirty plates on the table. Manager never come by to check on table. Its not like they were busy, they were so slow. No one asked us how our food was after it dropped. Server was just really bad. Cant remeber her name, but she made a big deal about being from chile. She didn't understand their menu. Didn't do any prebusing. Charged us 100 more than what the itemized charge on the bill was. Why the difference? Who knows, they didn't apologize or explain. Prices are too high for a suburban restaurant, but they're in a crappy casino so I guess they think they can get away with it. Normally at a nice steakhouse sides are large, here they're not. Steak was ok, what you would expect at the price, nothing special. I would recommend avoiding. Avoid the whole area. I live here so I'm stuck, but I wouldn't come here if I had a choice. Bottom line: don't eat here. Any Ruth chris is 100 times better. Bill was 700 for 6 people and only three people ate steak. I'm not scared of spending money at a restaurant, but, I wouldn't do it here again.

Highly disappointing. Customer service was poor & the staff walked around with arrogance. We each got handed different menus with $20 difference on the surf & turf. Upon asking the waitress why she quickly grabbed all of them back and went to get the correct ones (a little bait & switch?). Got served one roll with no zero choice of bread instead of either being asked or a bread basket. Had to find the waitress & ask for drink refills. Crab cake was a good amount of meat but had a lot of shell. I don't mind dishing out almost $100 per person if it's worth it, but it wasn't. In the future I'll stick with Ruth's Chris. Recommend you do the same.

This restaurant was very upscale, and the service was excellent. However, the food was marginal at best, and the prices were extremely high for the quality of food. Any attempt to compare this place to Mortons, or Ruth Chris is a huge mistake. Their speciality is prime rib..... The cut of beef was large, but it was tough and had no flavor. Any side dishes are additional costs (green salad is $14.00, Baked potato $14.00). Neither of the sides were any good, and as additional comment, the baked potato was dry, even to the point of being crunchy as it was probably under a heating lamp for hours! I will never return ....

Bartender greeted us briefly but continued fishing out the olives from the large can into a plate before engaging us in conversation. Restaurant was attractive but extremely noisy. For those who have visited the d/t Balto location it's a feel of Cheesecake Factory. Maybe this is what they r aiming for given casino environment Steak was amazing, ahi tuna was a decent quality but the preparation was poor - ordered seared, there were no seasoning and looked grey with sauce in container on the side. I've had better tuna at a high quality chain. Restaurant service can be described as efficient w/ nothing more than basics... 'give me the facts' from the server ... He was obviously more interested in his other tables (or one would hope) given the sterile service we received. While my dining companion was finishing a sentence, he grabbed is menu and was off before it was finished. Given the price of this restaurant, we would not return. They have some significant work to get to good.

I'm surprised the ratings are so low for this Prime Rib. We had such a nice dinner there recently. It is definitely a splurge, very expensive, but no one should be surprised by that when they choose to eat here. We have also eaten at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Baltimore and can definitively say that Prime Rib is better: all of the dishes we tried (appetizers and sides) were tastier than Ruth's Chris, and the steaks were juicier and more perfectly-executed. I love how they bring the bottle of wine over to refill your glass rather than you having to order and wait for a new glass. Makes you feel more at home (although the topping-off strategy can lead to a much drunker and pricier evening!). The service was fantastic; our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and good-humored. The manager also came over to ask how our experience had been so far. Although it can feel strange to be walking through a casino to get to such a fine dining establishment, I highly recommend Prime Rib for a special occasion meal!

Poorly run and managed. It is very evident that customer service is not their core competency. Prices are that of a mid/higher end steakhouse, but the piss poor service and unremarkable food makes this establishment the WORST VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY in the DC/MD/VA area. When we asked to speak to a manager to let him know of our poor service experience, he came by and seemed unconcerned and unapologetic. We had the prime rib and crab cakes which were bland and disappointing. Please don't waste your money (hopefully from winnings), time or taste buds here!

I don't usually write restaurant reviews, however after my experience last night at Prime Rib Steakhouse in the Maryland Live! Casio, I just had to share. My wife and I made plans to celebrate my birthday and made reservations using Open Table at the restaurant. When we showed up the hostess noted our jeans and sneakers and informed us of the dress code for the main dining hall. She offered as a seat at the bar/lounge area instead given our attire. This seemed reasonable, however, during this discussion a party of 5-6 young men (in their 20's), wearing jeans and sneakers, asked to be seated. The hostess immediately sat these gentlemen without a word. When I pointed this out to the hostess, she said she really didn't notice their attire. I informed her that we were celebrating my birthday and had planned this evening accordingly. She spoke with the manager and we were eventually seated. We then quickly realized that many guests had T-shirts, jeans and sneakers and were sitting in the main dining area. We asked 2-3 groups of guests around our table and none had been stopped about their attire. At the conclusion of the otherwise not spectacular dinner, we paid our bill and asked our waiter to speak to the manager to inform him of our experience and how other guests were not questioned. The waiter came back and said that all the guests were informed as is their policy, but all were seated regardless. He stated the manager would NOT come and speak with us. In conclusion, I understand that restaurants can have dress codes. I just ask that they apply these dress codes uniformly. I hope this really was an oversight in the hostess not "noticing" the others' attire, and not as I fear racially motivated. Needless to say I will not be going to this establishment ever again!

Had dinner here and I was very disappointed. Service was horrible and food was mediocre at best. $700.00 for 6 of us with no alcohol. I do not mind spending money on good food but not this place. Restaurant was not even busy and we could not even get a refill on our drinks. Steaks were ordered as medium and came out well done. Had to ask for A1 sauce because steak had ZERO flavor. Not a happy customer:(

This is my first review because the experience was so bad, I'm hoping to spare some one. Note: I'm told this location has 0 to do with the others but I can say with 100% certainty I will never step foot into any of them because of this, so if you're reading and you have some sway, know that you're losing customers by allowing this place to be associated with the brand I've only heard good things about - until now. I Took my wife here for Valentines dinner. Huge mistake. The waiter was friendly, the decor is nice, and the piano player was good, but those should be a given in an upscale steak house. First I asked about a drink menu... they didn't have one. Asked about wine. Nope. We both ordered the blue cheese salad as an app. Basically it's a half head of lettuce with a scoop of blue cheese dressing in the middle. The most plain "Salad" I've ever seen, let alone spent that amount of money on. Disappointed. They brought over the complementary Hors d'oeuvre which, I kid you not, tasted like McDonalds tatter tot with some garnish on top. I ordered the regular prime rib medium rare and my wife ordered the filet mignon medium well. If you read the other reviews, you'll see a lot about this weird consistency and "grayness" to the cook gradient. Yeah, well I got that too. I don't even know how it was possible. The center wasn't rare, it was raw. Short of that the meat was bland and the au jus sauce was beyond salty. It was by far the worst I've had. If you like Prime Rib, and you're in the area you'd do much much better going to Two Rivers. I'd rank that a solid 8 where as this would be a 1.5. My wife wasn't too thrilled either. I saw her poking at it and asked if she was alright. She sullenly shook her head. "It's just... bad," she said. Now let me tell you, my wife and I totally disagree on steaks, I like mine rare to mid-rare based on the cut while she only likes mid-well to well done. I tell her mid-rare is how it should be, she tells me to can it. Well, when we both agree the steaks are horrible no matter which way they were cooked, then you know something's wrong with the meat or the guys they got cooking. Neither one of us ate but a few small bites of our steaks and went on to sample the sides we ordered. Onion Rings: Good. They were crispy, but served at room temperature. It would have been nice to get them hot, but it wasn't a big deal. Au Gratin: First though - WTF? Horrible tasting. Now I don't know how to describe what it was about it I didn't like. I can only say I LOVE au gratin and I've ordered it from mom and pop restaurants to the large scale chains, to the top end steak houses and this is the first time I've ever taken a bite and didn't want to take another. Leaving 95% of our food untouched, I asked for it to be boxed up. The way in which I asked, and the amount left untouched, should have prompted the server to ask if we enjoyed our meal -- he didn't. So they take our food and when it's returned in the boxes, something seems off. I'm looking like a fool digging in the bag because the weight was way wrong. Turns out part of or order which went to the kitchen didn't return. I let the server know and about 5 minutes later we get the missing portion... I mean I can only assume it was mine. All I know for sure is they didn't offer to recook what was missing. For all I know what was returned late could have been someone else's. It made me very un-easy yet instead of an apology I got a joke that went something along the lines of: "Try to keep a better eye on it." No, I didn't laugh. To close I ordered some desert for my wife. Cheese cake. That was the worst yet. This part was so bad I asked for it to be taken off. The waiter claimed snootily that "some people just don't like the thickness of new york style." "Actually," I say, "we do. And that right there isn't right." Clumpy, dry, and nasty is how I'd describe it. Night ruined, we headed home to give our dogs our two hundred dollar dinner. They ate it without complaint, but then again they are used to eating kibble.

Wasn't too bad. I was here for an event so the food was passed and the booze free. What I tasted was good, they have a really cool outdoor patio (we were in the bar area). The bathrooms were nice (but really hidden). Crazy casino next door!

I'm not one for reviews, when I do post one it is usually for good service however I'm posting this negative review for The Prime Rib. 6 friends and I went to celebrate a birthday. We showed up a little early, roughly 15 minutes before. The hostess said that we could take a seat at the bar and the table would be available soon. While we were at the bar the Hostess never came and got us and we had to remind her twice that we were waiting after we have seeing 3 parties leave. We got seated nearly 45 minutes after our reservation time had passed. Once we were seated things seemed to be ok, It took a while to get things going. They were fast with the wine, since my wife and I are not drinkers we had to wait a while to get our drinks. Which we had to ask for. They never asked us. Let's just say service was lacking throughout the whole evening. Other people asked for water and never received it, two people asked for tartar sauce and never got it either. The food: While some people said it was good there was a definite agreement that some of it could have been much better. The fries that are billed to be some of the best are no more than fries that you could get at a grocery store. They were cold. My Ribeye was cold and had no taste. The food was overpriced to say the least. At the end of the night we were ready to leave and told the waitress we needed to split the check. We marked what was ours and off she went. When she returned everyone started signing and I looked at my bill to find that I was overcharged $30. Not a big deal, I figure she can take care of it real quick and we can get out of here. When we were able to get someone to see us 20 minutes after the bills arrived they went back corrected the mistake and we were on our way. Standing outside we all were discussing what a poor experience we had and said our goodbyes for the night. Story doesn't end there. Two days later I check my bank account. I had a charge of $555.66 and another charge for $411. My wife and I total meal was $114. After being more than a little angry and trying to get in contact with the restaurant I decided to wait and see if they caught their mistake. Finally the $411 charge dropped off. Leaving my friends and I to split the tab after the fact because guess what neither of them were charged their portion of the meal. I highly suggest that people rethink going to The Prime Rib at Maryland Live Casino. There are many other places to go with much better service and competency.
My friends made reservations for a small party for Friday night 2/13/15. They were really excited about this special dinner, because my friend was turning 30. Anyway let me just cut to the chase. We received ok service. The food was delicious minus the smashed potatoes. The potatoes had too much sour cream and too much of an onion or garlic flavor. The thing that really annoyed me, and the reason that I will not be returning to the restaurant is because the waiter did not split the bill. The bill was around to $850.00 for 10 of us (which by the way I was already aware this was going to be an expensive dinner). The waiter refused to split the bill into individual tickets which really would have only been 6 separate tickets. He said that he does not remember what everyone ordered, and that is not what they are supposed to do. First, this should have been stated when making the reservation! Second how do you not remember what everyone ordered. Is that not the job of the waiter? I was so annoyed that I wanted to speak to the manager, but this was not my party so I did not want to cause a scene. The waiter did offer to split the bill between all the cards. This would of normally been fine if it were all couples, but we had two single individuals. Anyway we ended up paying $200.00 when our bill should have only been around $150.00 which is not including tip. We literally were sitting there for 30 minutes after we had finished our meal to figure out how much should be on each card. That is absolutely absurd! The waiter came in several times. He saw what we were doing and how difficult this really was to do. He didn't care. For this reason my husband and I will not be returning, and nor will we be bringing any of our friends here either. Absolutely ridiculous!

I will give it a star for decor. We were so sad to have a terrible experience here. I had a very good martini, and French fries. The end of "good." Our service was rugged at best. Half of my food was never served, but appeared on the bill. I had to get up and get my own soup spoon for a lobster bisque that was hardly edible. Two in our party got burgers (we were in the lounge) and they were ordered medium and served raw. One ordered the lounge crab cake, and was given two mediocre crab cakes and charged for an entree that didn't exist on the bar menu. When we addressed the $38 charge vs the $18 ordered, we were told it was assumed we wanted it. How could we want something not even on the menu we were given? Terrible!
Service was great, or waiter was very attentive. The filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly.

Quite possible the worst dining experience I have had anywhere, ever. The decor is lovely. The piano and bass players were wonderful. And those are the only positive things I can say about this place. We waited over 10 minutes just to get water and menus. It went downhill from there. After waiting and waiting and waiting some more, we had to summon several runners and managers to get bread, to get butter, to get drinks, to get our meals. Each person was more incompetent than the next, save for one young man named Curt who was a transplant from the Four Seasons. I cannot begin to tell you what a comedy of errors this was. I will tell you it was frustrating beyond words. And the people at the tables to our left and to our right went through the same thing. How can you ruin onion rings? This place found a way. After wating 45 minutes for our salads, french fries, and onion rings, the onion rings came out cold -- not room temperature... COLD. The french fries didn't come out at all. Since our waitress was M.I.A., I called the manager over. He was of little help -- more interested in mocking the people who had just complained to him about their meal than taking care of us. Potatoes Au Gratin? Dry. Bone dry. Bisque? Blech. Crab cakes? OK. Salmon? Dry. Dessert? Inedible. After sending it back and waiting another 15 minutes, we tried another Bourbon Bread Pudding. Still inedible. So management's excuse for all of the foibles was that the place is only 2 1/2 weeks old. So what? You're charing the same amount now as you will in 6 months. The general manager complained that he had been training his personnel for weeks -- 15 hours a day. So what? Even allowing for some hiccups, there is no way that he could attribute this total failure on every single level to "newness." He assured us that other diners had loved their food. So what? I assured him that the people around us had the same complaints we did -- they even told us to speak for them. He tried to lay the blame on our waitress. But no way was it all her fault. She didn't cook the lousy food. But her service was inept, at best. Seems to me that the trouble lays squarely in the lap of management. They did a lot of puffing and preening all night, but were woefully lacking in grace and action. Simply put: I would not eat there again if it were free.

let me start off by saying this place is nice especially being in a mall/casino. the food is not cheap but it is good. some dishes were better than others. we ordered the surf and turf that came with the filet mignon, lamb, crab cake and lobster tail as well as the crabmeat cocktail, lobster bisque, crab legs, and mushrooms and asparagus for sides. the steak was good, kind of salty for me but everyone else love theirs. the crabcake and crab legs were good the lobster bisque was very tasty with large chunks of lobster in it the crabmeat cocktail wassss delicious!!! the lamb was nice and tender and the salmon was delicious as well i would recommend this place.

Went there with the hubby for a night away from the baby- the service was excellent! Everyone was very attentive and made sure to check on us to see if anything was needed. The crab cakes to start off with is the best way to go! I had an Italian wine (that I can't remember) and loved it! My husband ended up having the Prime Rib as a main course and I went with the Rabbit Pasta that was a special and wasn't even on the menu. I would def go back. Kudos to the chef and his staff for a wonderful evening!

I took my wife and two adult sons to the new Prime Rib for a special evening out. We would have been far better off dining at the nearby Long Horn. Three times for what we paid at the Prime Rib. The restaurant is beautiful, but we ended up at a large table in the bar because the hostess at the entrance seemed too confused to understand we wanted to eat dinner. We ended up seating ourselves. The waiter was pleasant, but not up to snuff. We had to ask for napkins, silverware, the correct drinks after the wrong items were brought. A bizarre appetizer was brought "compliments of the chef." I never did understand the name of it, but it was a die-sized cube of fish jello with six slivers each of carrot and cucumber covered in a vinaigrette and served in a spoon rest. Pardon my lack of sophistication, but it was just stupid. The lobster bisque was cool, under seasoned, and so-so. The small prime rib cuts were excellent, but do not justify $36 a slice. One son ordered the mammoth "signature cut" which would feed three - at $22 a head. I find it incredible they offer individual portions of vegetables for $10-16; my asparagus was roasted, buttered, and salted so heavily it could have been used for emergency traction in the snow. All in all it was a less-than-diner quality experience at a Tiffany price. Don't bother.

I called ahead of time and they were able to accomodate me as a vegetarian even though the menu doesn't have a vegetarian plate. I got a huge risotto dish with a few of the veg sides. The meal was good. The wine was good. I also ordered the bananas foster since it was my bday. Yeah I stuffed my face with dessert even though I was already full. The only disappointment was the tomato salad because it wasn't anything special. I could've chopped up tomatoes at home. The service was good.

Although the prime rib was great, the price for everything is a little on the high side. They're au jus is a little bit on the sweet side. Atmosphere was great, but the location being inside the casino wasn't good, it's NOT VEGAS! I love prime rib and this was in the top 5%.

1st time going there for a birthday dinner. Not really a top establishment I would recommend if you a large group.(our group was about 12-14 we had to sit at two different tables). Service was top notch. Steaks are seasoned very well and have plenty of taste. Spinach and the mashed potatoes sides were excellent. Pretty pricey if your getting drinks with your meal. Overall decent experience. Oh yea they charge for Ice lol..

Very pricy foods for average taste. I had crab cocktail. And they submerge my crab meat in pure ketchup. My friend had a salad her dressing was so sweet that it might as well been a desert dish. Bread was stale. This is good place for wine. Not food.

This was my first time to the prime . I'm sorry to say it will be my last . For a $$$$ place the food was a $ . Service was ok avg . I ordered the crab imperial . Portion size was very small . It was very dry and tasteless . Good thing the baked potato was a la carte .

My mother and I went into the Prime Rib after my law school graduation 5/19. We were told to take a table, and when we went to explore beyond the lounge, we were told by the hostess that we did not meet the dress code for the main dining hall because I had jeans, and my mother had on tennis shoes (otherwise we were business casual). We were fine sitting in the lounge under such circumstances, but we were shocked the dress code wasn't mentioned initially since we were very adamant about sitting in the dining room. I grabbed a table in the lounge while my mother visited the restroom. There were either 2 or 3 other tables in a relatively large size lounge with 1-2 bartenders/cocktails servers in sight. No one greeted me before my mother returned...and that was more than a little while since we had walked around Georgetown all day, and my mother was taking her time due to sore feet. We sat at the table closest to the bar. In the meantime, I noticed 3 white patrons escorted into the dining room all wearing jeans with white t-shirts exposed and 1 person even had on a baseball cap. I didn't bother asking about it as another reviewer here mentioned; it just wasn't worth it. After my mother returned, we sat at the lounge table without menus or a greeting for another minute or so before I became fed up enough to leave. I love nice restaurants but especially steakhouses, and I've visited most in this area. I was shocked at such poor treatment. I'm sorry we didn't look like the type they cared to serve, but I came in for a mini-celebration, and I left with an empty stomach. As a restaurant employee, I know the steps of service, and not 1 of the basics was hit. A hostess should be able to provide at least a menu if she can't be bothered to seat me in the barely seated dining room.

I have dined at many fine restaurants, and this was the worst experience of being bluntly inconsiderate and exhibiting the worst customer service EVER!!! A group of 8 of us were there celebrating a momentous birthday. Well, let's just say that The Prime Rib made it the most disappointing birthday celebration to remember!!! It took them nearly 2 hours to finally serve our meal, after we already decided that we were tired of waiting and no longer wanted to eat there. There were even people who came in after we ordered, got their food, ate, and left! The waiter disappeared for nearly 30 minutes during our wait time. He didn't even come by to say there was a problem. We had to bring it to his attention! It took the manager nearly 2 hours to come to our table to address the issue, after 2 people pursued him, during several different times. Both the waiter and manager offered NO ACCOMODATIONS for the inconvenience. They never even considered the fact that we told them that 6 of us were dining there for the 1st time, and we were there for a special occasion. They didn't even care enough to do anything that would influence us to come back again. I understand the food here is great, but the customer service is the worst I've ever experienced! That was something that I never expected from such an exquisite, Zagat #1 rated restaurant.

Dinner last night at the Prime Rib was superb! We started with drinks on the patio, which was spacious and full of comfy outdoor lounge furniture. The patio contains a large modern gas fireplace, which I'd like to come back for during the winter months. My dirty martini before dinner hit the spot. When we moved into the restaurant for my friend's birthday dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised to be seated in private wine room. It was perfect for our party of 10! The room was glass enclosed and lined with wine bottles, so while it was certainly intimate, it also had an airy feel. Our server, David, was knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations, yet was perceptive enough to give us space when we were engrossed in conversation, and not yet ready to order. The shrimp cocktail was impressive, as were the oysters we started with. My filet was delicious, as well as the sides we ordered - roasted artichokes, mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin. The setting was deluxe, the service astute, and the food and libations were delectable. I will definitely be back.

Went in on a Saturday evening as cheesecake was packed. I was pleasantly surprised as it was pretty empty in there. Sat at the bar, bartender was there but not there. Steak was delicious and enjoyed the live music. Good place to go and relax.

My wife and I went to The Prime Rib at Arundel last Saturday for our anniversary. Based on the reviews I would have gone to the one in Baltimore, but we had a gift card for the Arundel location so we decided to give it a try, even with the bad reviews. Our first impression was very positive... nice decor, nice setting, and our waiter (Curt) was great. Had a good bottle of wine and an excellent meal (we each had tenderloins with crab cakes), so either we got lucky, or the management team made some changes to upgrade things. Why only 4 stars? Well, throughout the meal there was a pretty stream of, how should I say it, riff-raff, roaming through the restaurant to use the restrooms. I don't know if these folks were having drinks at the bar, or came in from the casino, but it definitely took away from the overall experience. There was also some patrons in the restaurant that were very borderline casual, but I kind of expect that these days. We'll likely go back, and if we do, we'll certainly ask for Curt. If you go, I suggest you do the same.

I wasn't expecting much based on the reviews, so perhaps I was just pleasantly surprised. Unlike other reviewers, I thought the service was great, and would probably give an extra .5 if I could just for the service. Everyone was very attentive. The bartender was a little heavy handed with the liquor in my martini, which, while my BF appreciated it, I didn't. I couldn't even drink it. The food was pretty good, but definitely not the best I've had. The ahi tuna appetizer lacked flavor. My filet was cooked very nicely, although it could have been seasoned a little more. The grilled asparagus was delicious! The BF's lamb was really well seasoned and tasted very good! The food is priced up there with the best steakhouses, but the quality of the food doesn't match the price. I think they should consider lowering their prices -- especially given its location at a casino way out in Maryland.

At a recent night out with the guys we decided to take the small winnings that we had and enjoy a nice dinner out at the Prime Rib. Two of us had the veal chops, one had the name sake Prime Rib and the forth had the crab cakes. Not a single one of us was disappointed in our selection. To complement our dinner we had several sides including the creamed spinach, asparagus and potato skins (less carbs I tell my self) a few wedge and buzz salads. The best part and the main reason for even writing the review was our waiter Samir. He gave the evening a nice touch of class with his knowledge of wines, drinks and Baltimore history. He gave us the ins and outs of the Baltimore gaming scene and how the Prime Rib came to be at the Maryland Live Casino. His demeanor and communications made me feel as if I was checking in to a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. He asked our name at the onset and never forgot it! At the completion of our dinner he gave us his business card and we assured him we would be back the next time the casino gods rained a few bucks on us! The prices were on par with other fine steak houses. The quality of the service and the food was far superior!

Buyer Beware. The food is mediocre. Not bad, but certainly not excellent. And the prices are high. We dined there last night for the first time. We reviewed the menus and made our selections and then the waitress shared the specials with us. We all immediately changed our minds and ordered specials. The waitress didn't disclose the cost of the specials so we made the assumption that the cost would be a bit higher than regular menu items and we were fine with that. But boy were we suprised to find when the bill came that one of the steaks was $145! Yes, you read that correctly. The most expensive steak on the regular menu is $70 and the special was more than double. We were shocked. Especially since we had this cut of steak in London and it was $95 (and typically London'd prices are higher than the states). Out bill for three people without tip was $483. We live near the DC area and are accustomed to paying a high price for a good meal, but this felt like robbery for a meal that was just so-so. We felt like the waitress, although nice, was really pushing the specials. Now we know why, it was going to drive her tip through the roof. Overall the place has a nice atmosphere, the food is okay, but unfortunately we won't go back. There are much better steak house in the Baltimore/DC area that are clear on their prices and the quality is better.

Going here is all about expectations. You expect it to be pricey, great food and excellent service. It pretty much met those expectations - food was good (not quite great), service was excellent very attentive. We went last week with friends who frequent the Balt location - they said the Prime Rib was just as good here, my filet was cooked perfectly medium and my husband had the wild boar chops which he enjoyed. Overall a nice experience, worth going for a special occasion but probably not regularly at these prices.

I dined here on Christmas night. First, I was glad they were open as hardly any restaurants are on Christmas. I walked in at 6pm and was seated immediately. Its a beautiful restaurant and they had tons of staff on hand. A little more polish or training is needed with staff as my water glass sat empty a few times while I waited for someone to come by for a refill. Though other waiters seemed quite chatty and friendly with guests, I could never get more than a yes/no from mine to any question asked. I ordered the signature cut prime rib, medium rare. As the previous reviewer noted, I too was a little surprised by the look of mine when it arrived. It was a dark brown shade, though tender and juicy. Not overcooked, but certainly had no appearance of medium rare. I also could not finish mine and had the rest wrapped to go. I did order dessert (they have about ten selections, $10 each), though I sent it back. Apple tart tatin (spelled "tartan" on the menu...not sure why) was of the 'deconstructed' variety of desserts (that is soo 2005!): a whole apple, cored, peeled with stem intact, plopped onto a small pastry shell, surrounded by caramel sauce. Seriously? Show a little effort and artistry for the price. I hope this restaurant does well. I would return. They have only been open for three weeks. It is the only high-end restaurant between Baltimore and DC. But I am not sure the casino crowd and outlet mall shoppers will flock in.

DINED HERE ON FEB 17TH AT 6PM. If I could give no stars I would...better yet the chef at this location deserves negative stars. What an awful experience, the cooks at Fuddruckers are better than the jokers here. Ordered the full cut prime rib, asked for it to be cooked rare. It comes out, I cut into the middle and its gray...totally overcooked. HOW DO YOU ASK FOR RARE AND GET A GRAY CENTER??? Five minutes later another prime rib comes out. This one is RAW ON THE INSIDE AND MICROWAVED ON THE OUTSIDE!!! It had a weird gray outside and smelled really strange. Did they just nuke a ribeye for two minutes and try to serve it??? So this one gets sent back too. I asked if they please could cook one just like the one they served my dad (medium rarish). At first they said ok, THEY TOOK A PICTURE OF MY DADS MEDIUM RARE PRIME RIB SO THEY COULD SHOW IT TO THE COOK IN THE BACK. I guess the cook couldn't duplicate it because they basically told me they were now out of rare prime rib. I guess after ruining two $57 prime ribs they gave up the cooks getting it right. Unbelievable...how I was wishing we were at the Baltimore location.

1 star is generous. The filet my friend ordered was good as was the asparagus (though too salty. Everything else was awful. Lobster bisque was bland. Crabcakes were blah. Potatoes au gratin were tasteless. Glass of wine was tiny. Server was over pushy about us ordering more food. Quantity here is not the issue -- portions are huge -- but quality is horrific! Definitely not worth the $150 I spent. I would have been happier at the burger palace. Awful experience especially since I hear great things about the downtown location.

Wow! My meal at The Prime Rib was one of the best I've had in a long time! I went last night on a date and let me just say that the service was incredible. To start I had the French onion soup which was delicious. The cheese was perfectly coating the bowl with the right amount of broth and bread underneath. I will absolutely order the soup again. For my entrée, I ordered the filet mignon cooked medium which was cooked to perfection. The right amount of tenderness inside and crispyness on the outside. We split the mashed potatoes and asparagus which were also very good! Overall the service was top notch and the food was just as great. I will absolutely be back again!

Place was great and for me to give a restaurant 5 stars says something nice modern atmosphere friendly staff great food and drinks I highly recommend

Great cocktails, appetizers , seafood, full cut prime rib and coffee. Wonderful and courteous wait staff. It's truly a fine dining experience. You will not be disappointed. They do take care of you.

It is always busy here, don't have the time or the patient to wait to eat in the dining room, bartenders are friendly ,service is quick, can't go wrong with prime rib and a nice glass of wine, The shrimp cocktail are huge, oyster was just okay, don't come here as a group ,you will wait forever!

At first I was concerned I wouldn't be noticed but the end result was nothing less than professional. Food great, service was Better than Vegas.

The Prime Rib at Maryland Live Casino is a world class fine dining experience. The entrance is dark and sophisticated. The hostesses quickly greeted and seated us. We walked through the bar area where I noticed a piano. The place just appeared so posh and elegant. It was super clean, so much it seemed like everything was brand new. We were there for dinner but the bar was inviting and would make a great place for a pre-concert meeting spot. On our way to our table I noticed a private dining room enclosed in glass. Between the layers of glass were more wine bottles than I could ever count arranged in a very stylish way. Our hostess offered us a booth with two chairs or a table with four chairs. We opted for the booth. The black leather was so comfy! Our waitress was impeccably dressed in a suit. She didn't rush us even though she seemed busy with other tables. She offered the specials of the day and then took our orders. The menu was easy to read and I had a hard time choosing from all the awesome choices. Everything sounded delicious! We ordered the French onion soup, Caesar salad, potato skins, filet mignon, duck fat French fries, and sautéed mushrooms. The steaks were delicious! Be careful they cook them true to the guide on the menu. The well done was completely well done. Other steak houses in the area cook them slightly less, which is more what we are used to. The medium well was juicy even though it was butterflied. I especially liked the drizzle of sauce along side of my steak. The manager John stopped by a couple of times for some pleasant conversation. I liked that he was showing interest in our enjoyment of the meal without being pushy or intrusive. A few times during dinner piano music began to play. I'm embarrassed to write that I'm not sure if a person was actually playing or it was a player piano. I didn't see but I enjoyed it and the music added to the elegant atmosphere. I would suggest utilizing the valet parking service. You can drive right up to the Prime Rib entrance across from Modells at Arundel Mills Mall and just walk a few steps. There is a valet on the second floor of the parking garage for casino patrons. That is a longer walk through the casino and the hundreds of tables and thousands of slot machines they have there. The Prime Rib was a nice high end change of pace to the other offerings in the Hanover MD area. This fine dining steak house is surrounded by dozens of chain restaurants and fast food places. Go here for a special occasion and try the key lime pie too.

We had a fantastic experience last night when we visited the Prime Rib Restaurant for the first time. They have a piano player in the bar area who was excellent, so we decided to eat there instead of the formal dining room. Service was outstanding. The bartender, Chad, made great drinks! We started with Bellini's which were some of the best I have had. They were a great accompaniment to the oysters topped with crab which were fresh and delicious!! Then I had the sea bass which I read in a prior review was under par, but I found to be delicate, rich, and cooked to perfection. My friend had the bone in prime rib which I also tried and was torn between which I liked more (and I'm not a big steak girl). Sides were the baked potato with fixings and the bacon sautéed Brussels sprouts... Yummy!! Even though we were stuffed, everything was so good that we had to try dessert. Bread pudding paired with pumpkin martinis, yes please!! To top off the night, Chef James stopped by to check on our meals. If you want a great meal paired with VIP service, this is the place! We'll be visiting again soon :)

2-stars.
(2)Faith C.

(Disclaimer: I have cross posted this review to two other sites) I had dinner at The Prime Rib by myself on a Tuesday evening, and observed that the restaurant was about a third full, with about two thirds of that being groups of four. Arriving early, I went to the bar and had two drinks, and the bartender gave a decent pour each time. After the drinks, I went to the hostess, checked in, and she then brought me to the table. I asked her what was the best thing on the menu, and she replied that it was the rib-eye. The hostess knew enough about that particular cut so that she was able to describe the marbling and texture. As time goes on, my quest for the perfect restaurant is never-ending. However, the bar for service and quality is always being raised because I continually seek out high end and 'foodie' restaurants. My assigned waiter was Samir, who took the effort to call me by my name for my entire meal. Even with my high standards, Samir exceeded my expectations. He was able to describe the menu and each cut of meat. After placing an order of the rib-eye, sautéed spinach, and potatoes au gratin, my only request was that my glass of iced tea remain full. Samir seemed to have ESP in that he was always ready with a full glass when mine became low. While waiting for the meal, the Manager (unknown) and the General Manager, Devon, stopped by. I know that this is Restaurant 101 and usually don't think anything about it, but Devon took the time to ask what I ordered and asked if I had ever tried the potato skins. I replied no, imagining potato skins from a corporate mid-level chain restaurant. Devon told me that I must try them and that she would send an order over. Well, these were not normal potato skins. I found out later that the potato skins were hollowed out and then fried in duck fat. Served with two sauces on the side, they totally redefined my expectation of what potato skins should be, and were the best I have had. The rib-eye arrived and was perfectly done. Usually I like my steaks medium well, and went with the medium as per the hostess. She was right, and it was quite tasty. The two sides were large enough to be shared with one or two other people, and I could not finish them. In conclusion, the service was better than most high end restaurants, and the quality and portion size was equally great. Living in Texas, I wish that they were located closer to my home, although I now have a steak place to go to while in Maryland.

I was very disappointed with my overall experience at this location. I came here with three other people and no one had a great experience. First of all, they got our order wrong and instead of offering to fix it, the waitress ignored the problem. We ordered the sautéed spinach and they gave us the creamed spinach so we ended up having to pay for both. The waitress made annoyed facial expressions a couple of times. I am in the service industry so I know we weren't being that annoying table to wait on. The crab cakes were bland, undercooked and fishy smelling. The roasted tomato bisque tasted like bland marinara sauce and the spinach sides were not good either. The waitress told us that the broccoli Rabe and artichoke hearts were both sent back the night before so it doesn't sound like very many things were good. The only thing that anyone at my table liked was the French onion soup special. Two people ordered the crab cakes and did not finish their meal so we asked for them to be boxed up. After getting home, I realized I was handed the other persons meal and the creamed spinach was put in the same box as the crab cake so the crab cake was now soggy and soaked with cream. I can't believe how poorly this expensive experience was. I will not return and would not recommend this to anyone.

Great place to go after gaining some winnings at the Live, this is about my 3-4 visit, I have had the Salmon, potato au and spinanch. Very yummy!

Great seafood platter appetizer. Veal chop was cooked perfect. Friendly service. I visit once a month.

Awesome if you love prime rib solid as protein bars. 4 of 3 ordered prime rib, had to send it back.

Went on a Thursday night and the ordered the Clams casino, Porterhouse steak w/ mashed potatoes and crime brûlée. The food was fantastic. The steak was cooked to perfection. Service was so so. You shouldn't have to ask for refill ever. That's how I base my tipping. All in all good experience. Also, my wife liked their wine selection. The White and Red Moscato in particular I recommend if you like sweet wine.

Terrible!

Not too happy with this place. I got the Flounder Stuffed with Imperial Crab and it was too dry and had a strong fishy smells. My husband got the Filet Mignon with Crab Cake but the steak was dry and not very flavorful as it should be. Our sides were the Sautéed White Button Mushrooms and Onion Rings, the mushroom was so terrible no flavors and the onion rings weren't even hot but it was more edible than our main courses. Was a waste of money and super disappointed!

(3)Nicole W.

(2)Kim R.
(4)Leichardti F.
Although the prime rib was great, the price for everything is a little on the high side. They're au jus is a little bit on the sweet side. Atmosphere was great, but the location being inside the casino wasn't good, it's NOT VEGAS! I love prime rib and this was in the top 5%.
(3)Eddie M.
(3)Lil Birdie N.

I was apprehensive after reading all the negative reviews but had a great meal and the service was excellent.
