This is my go to pizza joint! I love the pizza, sauce, cheese, and crust. I also like the wings and cheese steaks. I've had some of the other things on the menu but crave the other stuff! The restaurant is clean and family owned. They play oldies music and have beer and wine. If your looking good hot pizza this your place!

Best pizza in Baltimore hands down. Came here all the time as a kid and now make the drive from Carroll County to get a pizza at least once a month. Thin crust, great sauce.

Okay, I grew up in Arbutus and still live nearby, so Sorrento's has been in my life for a long time. It's my go-to place for an Italian cold-cut sub, and their "Steak Sorrento" sub is an amazing, gooey, cheesy version of the cheese steak with an Italian flair. While I prefer more upscale pizza, sometimes Sorrento's greasy, cheesy, thin crust pizza is exactly what I want (mostly when I'm hungover or stressed out).

Nice clean well kept family style restaurant. I was told they are celebrating their 50th Anniversary owned by the same family. I had the Lasagna w/salad and enjoyed it. They offer wine and beer, both seemed reasonably priced. I plan to try them again during the lunch hour. I was told that Friday night it is very hard to get a table.

This is the best pizza ever! It is not fancy pizza. It is simple, thin crust cheesy pizza with just the right amount of sauce. The prices are very reasonable- a large cheese pizza is only $10. It is a great place to take the family and always clean.

Pizza was decent...and it was certainly fresh out of the oven. I found it a little too greasy for my taste, but the crust and sauce were good. My friend had a roast beef sub that he raved over. The counter ladies (where we sat) were friendly and service was quick enough. Fun atmosphere---the "real" Baltimore, I was told.

Food is pretty bad, but they are cheap! They've got a Pizza & pitcher of beer combo for like $12. It's definitely family friendly, or college kid friendly. Not a grown up spot, really. Ok for what it is.

There's nothing particularly special about this spot. The food is mediocre at best, so don't come here expecting a party in your mouth. I can see why it would be a local fave though. Fairly down-to-earth and extremely casual. No high expectations here!

The pizza here is not good. The sauce is lackluster (which my sister didn't like with her spaghetti either) and the cheese is not good quality. I liked the crispy crust but it wasn't enough to stand up to the heaviness of the undercooked veggie toppings (onion slices, mushrooms, peppers, black olives, and bad tomato slices), sauce, and cheese that weighed everything down. Instead of using fresh peppers, they opted for a canned version that was vinegary. Who wants to taste vinegar on pizza? We'd spent the entire day at a UMBC for my niece's Destination Imagination state finals and were starving for some din-din. We'd yelped and were hoping to go the burger joint nearby at said niece's request but they'd closed by 9:00! Sorrento was vouched for by someone leaving the burger joint but so much for the locals' recommendations! If my phone hadn't been dead by the time we'd arrived, I would have yelped for an alternative even if it meant getting back in the car!

Family-run restaurant with a casual dining room and good pizza. Personal-sized pizzas are a great value, and are built to order with the toppings you want - fresh and delicious. Friendly staff, quick service.

This place was unimpressive to say the least! Pizza is greasier than the Soul Glow commercial from the movie coming to America!! The sauce IS straight from a can, and that would explain the horrible metal taste... Most of the employees provide great service, the only exceptions being the short blonde haired lady that seemed like she hated the fact that I wanted to order food while she was busy doing other things. Who is the snotty little kid that works there that seems so unappreciative of anything at all? If I acted like he did my Momma would have slapped me into next week! Very unprofessional, and condescending to every customer that walked in even the children!!! I will never eat here again!!! Arbutus has much more to offer!!!

It's the local pizza joint so you can't really go wrong. BUT, where they lack is attention to carry out. You can call in your order ahead of time and they will quote you 20-30 minutes. OK, awesome. Now, you wait the half hour, arrive, walk in, and if there is a line wrapped around the building...you have to wait. It is unbelievable they treat their carry out orders this way, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Your better off just going in, claiming your place in line, and then calling from your cell phone while standing their to place your order. Believe me, by the time you get to pay, a half hour will have passed.

Was visiting UMBC, and wanted a quick easy dinner. Pizza! Not good! It says fresh dough pizza on their menu, and really truly there is no possible way it is fresh. The sauce tastes like it came out of a can, and way too much sweetness in the pizza sauce. I ordered green peppers and onions, and the green peppers turned out the be pickled sweet peppers, presumably out of a jar. The sauce already had enough sweetness, but the peppers made it over the top....almost inedible. I'll eat pizza hot any day, but this pizza is far below any standards, and I wouldn't say its worth even the cheap cost.

I am in love with this pizza. I've been eating this over the years but is it always good. The crust is just thick enough to hold everything, but thin so you can fold easily or cut in small bites for kids. The sauce is slightly sweet and the crusty is chewy and crunky depending on the bite. Sometimes it can take a few minutes to make if its busy with a whole baseball team of 8 year olds, but worth the 15 minutes for the fresh gooey pie!

We like Sorrento's a lot, there's a good atmosphere (nothing fancy) and the food is good. They were open when everyone else was closed during the blizzard and they act like they like being there. They have a few beers on tap (no imports.) This isn't a 'four star restaurant' as perhaps one might interpret the rating. But like yelp's rating says, I'm a fan of this place!

  • Shawn B.

Service time is absolutely horribly no matter time of the day or night you go there. The atmosphere is very family friendly and the food tastes great at a great price though. If you have half a day to spare I recommend taking the family for a slice of pizza here.

Don't waste your time here. Food is uninspired to say the least. The pizza, which I am guessing is the staple here, tastes like the sauce is fresh from a can. Stingy on the cheese, and the rest of the toppings, for the price that you pay you really do expect a lot more. The only good thing about the place is the dining room. If you want to call it that. It's more of a cafeteria seating place. But, after baseball games or sports games, you will find the teams hanging out here. So at least the dining room has that purpose served. And seriously.. if you haven't seen the commercials for this place on TV, you really should. Laughable at best, it actually makes me NOT want to go here. Can I suggest that they maybe spend the money on improving the quality of the product, not the packaging?!

Very family oriented. Been around for generations. Remember going there as a little girl and have now taking all 3 of my children there since they were little. Great atmosphere. Very good food and great prices. They have beer on tap and wine.

Pizza and the occasional steak & cheese sub is why we grab a meal from Sorrentos. Those have been solid staples for years. We don't stray far from the pizza front, sticking with pepperoni, onions, mushrooms or some combination of those toppings. Cheese steak sub with the works. The Sorrentos pizza with its thin crust and olive oil sets a good standard. Other area pizzas (especially the chain pizzas) are too sweet, too dry or too loaded with super fatty and salty items. Been a customer for many decades now.

I'm not saying they're terrible they're just okay. When I work for a armored car company me and my partner used to stop and get lunch. The first two times was good but when we ordered it seem like the person taking the order didn't wanna be there.

Pizza is great! Shrimp salad sandwich is also really good. The staff can be much nicer. They always seem inconvenienced when you need to place a order, get a to go box, etc.

It's nice to have a local family restaurant, but unfortunately I agree with all the comments about the food not being good and the counter service being disorganized. I would not get pizza here when there are much better alternatives literally within shouting distance. I have occasionally gotten dinner foods like spaghetti and meatballs here, but as someone else said, they taste pretty bland. Meatballs are not flavorful, they taste like big wads of meat. This is a good un-fancy place to take kids, and it's often full of families with kids, or sports teams of kids, but the atmosphere is like a school cafeteria. It's not a comfortable place for adults to sit and eat.

I did not really like the pizza here, many moons ago when I first moved to the area they sent me a coupon for a free cheese pizza, I took the wife and ate here and it was ok. I went back a few times for cheese fries and sanwiches but never really gushed over it like I do for Leto's pizza. Sorry Sorrento family the Leto's beat you out. On the other hand the place was clean the service was good and it was full of families eating food it has a very local feel and nice enviroment. But Leto's is still better.

I have been eating Sorrentos since I was old enough to chew. My family's tradition was to get Sorrentos pizza and subs and meet at grandmas house for every birthday! My mom would always get pizza at least 1x a week if not 2x. I am now 27 years old and still eat there often. I love the pizza and cheesesteaks. Plus side is their shaved ice in their drinks. I like how they just ramped up online ordering (needs some tweaking). Waiting for the day they have delivery!

Friendly staff in a family friendly setting, Sorrento's of Arbutus is my place to go for a cold cut sub. There is no reserved seating, so it is a first come basis. They have pretty good pizza, too. It is on the greasy side. In my opinion, what sets Sorrento's of Arbutus apart from other places is the shaved ice. Most places will serve just regular cubed ice in their soft drinks, but I really enjoy the shaved ice. Sometimes I will just go to Sorrento's for a soda with the shaved ice.

Best pizza ever. Clean and great air conditioning. New app is easy and fun. Go and try it while the carnival is here.

Simple Pizza stop with pretty unimpressive pizza. Pizza sauce is too tart, crust is chewy and heavy, and veggies are limp. Italian dinners, like lasagna and shells, are bland and mediocre. You'll do better in your grocer's freezer.

  • Jessica W.

I don't mind the food, the pizza isn't terrible, but the service is THE WORST. Even if I call it in, wait thirty minutes, it still isn't ready when I get there. There is no organization when you get there, just lots of people standing in the "line" that takes forever to get through. If you order by the phone, you have to wait in line to pick up your food, which takes a loooonnnngggg time! So only go here if you have enough time to wait and wait.
