I had the Georgia BBQ combo with sweet tea, slaw, and cornbread side. It was pretty decent for fast food. The Georgia was pretty sweet, as expected, but I think the slaw would compliment one of the more vinegar based or salty BBQ options since it's sweet as well. The cornbread wasn't the best, tasted a lot like jiffy, but with an odd texture...it was baked then covered in Saran Wrap for storing so the condensation made it soggy. The sweet tea was spot on! Best sweet tea I've had since living in the south. I'd definitely order them again, but would consider another side. The staff was also very pleasant and attentive, the processed my order quickly and with a smile.

Very good Barbecue I had the Pulled pork Sandwich it was very good... took one bite with out the "hot" sauce just to say that I tried it with out the sauce and its very good Barbecue. The Red potato salad was a little dry for my tastes but very good. I will be back.

Today we had lunch in Valley Mall while waiting for our car to be serviced at Sears. We choose VA BBQ over the other "mall food" because of our past good experience while in their former location near HCC. While the menu has changed, the pork is still top notch. As far as sides go, the potato wedges missed the mark both in appearance and flavor-wedges were dark an not very tasty other than the seasoned salt on top, but the sweet potato fries were good (for $1.00 more). We miss the old location.

When you order from a mall food court you know you are getting fast food. But even fast food should be good. This is not the case for chicken barbecue. I ordered the barbecue sampler platter: North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee BBQ. The side dish was baked beans. First the good news. The baked beans were excellent. Not too sweet and very flavorful. The iced tea was also very good. BUT the BBQ portions were tiny. I expected to be overwhelmed with food and I was underwhelmed. The Virginia barbecue was reasonably tasty but the other 2 wee very bland and stringy. Too bad because I love BBQ.

Hey Virginia Barbeque at the Mall which is way better than the other fast food choices. I'm not sure why I hold it at 3 stars but it's just missing a little edge. Friendly service, menu on the wall is pretty tough to read because it seems to be tiny print. The walk up itself is clean, nicely lit and very well presented. There was a flat screen just next to the register but my husband and I were a little curious about its purpose, it wasn't on and didn't seem to have one. Sandwich combos are a little pricier than your standard fast food but the quality of the sandwiches out weigh fast food and therefor make it worh the little bit extra. Darn tasty with several choices of sauce so you can make it as gooey as you want it. Have to say the fries are great, made as ordered so you have a moment to wait but you get perfect fries. Side choices include: French Fries Roasted Red Potato Salad Southern slaw Baked Beans Corn Bread Muffins The corn muffin was yummo although literally a single bite size! It was like a teaser!

Decided to stop by here while doing a little Christmas shopping. Good BBQ joints in the area are few and far between. It is located in the food court in the mall, so didn't know what to expect. I ordered the Texas BBQ Beef Sandwich combo. The bun was a regular hamburger bun and there was only enough meat on there to cover the bun. Not loaded down at all. There wasn't much of a BBQ taste to me. The bread was old. I had the coleslaw for my side and it wasn't that good. A piece of cornbread is inlcuded. It is sweet and small. I really don't think I will go back here for BBQ. I think McDonald's would have been a better choice. I agree the print on the menu on the wall is very small. An elderly lady after me ordered and asked what sides, the worker pointed to them on the board and she couldn't read them, so she gave her a menu, still couldn't read them. Did she name the sides, no.

Jumping right in to this one. When it comes to the price, it's a-ok, but I was not as thrilled with the semi-warm sandwich, and add in the fact that I'm just not into vinegar based BBQ sauce. I thought the hot mashed potatoes were so-so, but they had instant-potato like texture. I will admit that the owner/manager was quite pleasant and likable and with that I will try again and update this accordingly. UPDATE: 6/28/12 - Tried the beef and had a side of fries. The beef again was a bit cool, but the fries were hot. It was decent, but again, it follows nearly as close as my initial review. Still, not bad for the mall, and it's close to work so I'll be sure to hit them up and try the smothered fries at some point. UPDATE: 7/25/12 - Had the smothered fries twice since the last update. They are pretty damn good and are a good value. Definitively worthy of being a signature dish. Yet it's still not enough to raise my score for them. If only I could erase my first two meals here, and had only had the smothered fries, this would be a five star score.

I am picky about my BBQ but tried this as they had a vinegar based sauce and it is healthier than other options in the mall. I have only gotten the BBQ baked potato (tasty and cheap - only 5 bucks) and find it to be good. The restaurant front is clean and haven't had any complaints with the service. Pretty darn good for a mall food court!
