Went with a friend for lunch on a Friday. Server was very attentive, and patient with explaining what things were to me. I had the veggie spring rolls with tofu, and the green papaya salad. My friend had tom-yum soup and chicken panyang I think. We were both very pleased with the food. The veggie rolls use rice paper and have a nice punch of cilantro in them. For dessert my friend had mango sticky rice and I had the most amazing dessert ever that was coconut custard with pumpkin - served warm - I swear I could eat a bucket of it!! Very comfortable seating and nice decor, don't like that they have a flat screen TV on the wall, but they did turn the volume off when more people started coming in.

Great food and Service! Everyone in our party was happy with the food and wine. A new favorite.

Nice spring roll. Fresh big portion good price. Tom ka soup yummy. Also liked stir fry egg plant. Spice level moderate for usual local taste may ask to tone done heat. This was lunch with wife and she also quite satisfied. Equal to manhattan or very close. Also speedy friendly service

My favorite Thai restaurant! Even with all of the Thai restaurants in Frederick this is my favorite! Know soy is my favorite dish!

We stopped in for lunch at this lovely town on our way to Pittsburgh. The service was wonderful and the recommendations we got from the server were excellent. For appetizers we ordered the coconut milk soup with chicken and the angry pork rolls. Both were amazing!!! And I've had Thai food many many times, only now was it so good it warranted a review! The coconut soup was rich w flavors of lime and cilantro which paired perfectly with the spicy coconut base. The angry rolls were amazing!!! The rice paper was gummy and against the greens and crispy pork inside it made for quite a bite!!! Our entrees were even better. I ordered the drunken noodles w chicken!! omg!!!! I can't begin to explain how good! The texture of the noodle, the sauce, the veggies crispness!!! Yum!!! My boyfriend ordered the crispy duck with basil and sweet chili sauce. This dish was gorgeous!!! And delicious. If you are a local or traveler this place won't disappoint!!! Best Thai eatery ever!! And I've been all over !!!

We had Penang seafood curry & green curry w/chicken for main dishes. Plus Mango sticky rice for dessert. They were all delicious. They service was attentive even though they had only 1 server. I will be back!

Horrible experience, do not recommend this place. Went for dinner last weekend had Pad/Thai. Shrimp was over cook. When we complaint, the owner and chef had a bad attitude almost kikck us out of the restaurant . Didn't want call the police and make big scene. Feel bad for the server she was a good girl very polite. I am sure with that kind of attitude towards the client and bad food, this place is not gonna last long,

My family and I went for dinner. Food was some of the best thai I've had, and thai is my favorite Asian food (so I've had a lot). Service was great. Atmosphere was very calm, quiet, and appealing. Restaurant is very clean. Will definitely return, so glad Hagerstown has thai food now. Support local small businesses!

This is a nice, cozy, quiet Thai restaurant in Hagerstown, MD. Can't say I'm a fan of Hagerstown, but have a BFF who lives here. A visit with her is not complete without a trip to Thai Zap. Great food, quiet, pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices. Certainly nothing to complain about and they make Hagerstown a better place. My niece really loved the mango cheesecake.

This is a really nice little place. I had the thai zap duck and it was delicious. Vegetables were so fresh and cooked perfectly. There was only one woman waiting and seating tables but she worked really hard and was still able to keep up with our drinks and check in on us. Food took a while to arrive but it was so good I didn't care.

Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly, good service, good portions for reasonable price

Seriously great! I'm here now by myself-literally no one else is in here but the workers and me and I cannot understand why! It came out in 5 minutes hot and delicious and I'm very glad I came here

Tried this place after finding on YELP. Ordered the Crispy Basil Duck and Garden Rolls. Rolls were good size and didn't disappoint. The Duck was very good.

I have eaten at Thai Zap half a dozen times and it's all been good, The Pad Thai is one of my favorites. My only issue is I keep asking for it VERY SPICY and at best it is medium. I love Thai food, but I also want it good and spicy (make me sweat please...) I like the salad with peanut sauce, always nice and fresh.

I've only been once, when they first opened, but the food was great! I'll definitely be back.

Even on a slow Monday night they had great food. Check out the chef specials menu for a nice house twist. The Kow Pow was a perfect blend of red and yellow curry.

Really yummy food.... Unfortunately at the end of our meal I noticed a cock roach parade up the wall. So thats a bit disappointing! Won't be going back

This. Is. Amazing. I live in New York City and nothing here comes close to the food at thai zap. If you're trying thai food for the first time, and don't live here, don't come here. Your first impression will be amazing and you'll be left to wander your hometown aimlessly searching for something even close to comparable. Best Thai food ever.
(5)Naveen G.
Really would have made it 4.5. Agree the chefs special menu is a winner. If nearby, worth a stop!

I've ordered delivery from Thai Zap before. The food was decent. I tried to place an order for delivery again tonight (as I'm home sick) and it seemed that the staff was unsure whether they still offered delivery. I could hear them discussing this while I was on hold. They came back on the line and asked if delivery was for more then one person. When I told them that it was just for me, they informed me that they were short-staffed tonight and couldn't deliver. Wow! I guess if I would have been placing a more substantial order, I would have been considered "deliverable". So, I just placed my dinner order with Finn Thai. Although they are twice as far away from my house, they are always accommodating and courteous. Sorry Thai Zap. But I'll be getting my weekly "Thai fix" elsewhere.

Ordered the Thai Zap duck, but the waitress seemed confused and I had to point it out on the menu, despite being a signature dish. I specified a medium level of spice, but there was absolutely no spice in the dish. Also the description indicated thinly sliced duck, but it was actually deep fried chunks - not what I was expecting. My daughter ordered the drunken noodles, which were a gummy heap. The Pad Thai was ok, but had some very smelly cabbage in it. The Thai iced tea was very good. If I am in the area again, I will not eat there again, even with the $5 coupon they gave at the end of the meal.

Excellent food! Plenty of options. Friendly wait staff. Prices are fair and comparable to other restaurants in the area. Renovations done to the space are very tasteful. Overall a very good experience. I had the Kow-Soy. It is a chicken, noodle and yellow curry dish made with coconut milk. It was very flavorful and the chicken was well cooked. You can also get it with shrimp if you like. The sauce had just a little heat to it, which is just the right amount for me. (I am a wimp when it comes to spice.) The server told us you can also add spice if you like it hotter. My co-worker got the green curry which was also very well flavored and spiced. Portion sizes are just right. We were there for lunch, but I don't think they will change it up much for dinner. Water was served in a stemmed glass upon arrival. The food came with a salad with the house ginger dressing. And the lighting was pretty dim, which in a darkly painted room was a bit too dark, but it didn't change my mind about the overall experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Thai food. Glad to see another winning option in downtown Hagerstown. UPDATE JULY 2014.... I can't stop ordering the drunken noodles. They are more spicy than I usually would get anywhere else but I can't stop eating them. Soooo good! Oh and they have beer and wine now.

Nothing else can be said that hasn't been said before. I love this place and it's the best Thai food outside the DC metro area. Fast, friendly service.
(5)Zach T.
Just called there to order take out the lady on the phone was so rude I hung up. They need to fire her before she puts them out of business.

appetizers combo and tea was excellent. As other have said wait staff has room to improve. Main dishes were good but lacked presentation or memorable points good or bad. Manager efforts to grow and then improve their business inquiring unbidden as to satisfaction and making recommendations earned the fourth star this may be a truly amazing place in the near future

This is really a lovely Thai restaurant. The hostess was so sweet and service was wonderful. The food was excellent. I got the angry pork roll, delicious and the spicy fried duck, wonderful. This place is in downtown Hagerstown. A great surprise. I highly recommend it.

Great food here - so nice to have Thai food in Hagerstown now! I really dig their atmosphere (the walls and booths are super trendy), and the Thai food tastes fresh and delicious.
(3)Debbie L.
My first time eating here was a couple months ago with a friend who is from Thailand and I absolutely loved the food. She ordered for me the Thai Zap duck (I substituted the duck for chicken) I went there again with my mom and again the food was amazing. I ordered the Thai Zap duck, but with chicken instead of duck. My mom ordered the Krapow with chicken. I love how everything has flavor. I like the pepper powder they have, you just have to ask. It does have a good kick, but a little bit goes a long way. And the thai tea was good also. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
(5)Charity R.
Great tasting food. But not recommended if you're on a timed break. When this place gets busy, the workers get behind and you could be waiting for 15 minutes before you get to order.
(5)Christie M.
Great food! Have had the Thai Zap Noodles, Kra Pow, and Salty Fried Shrimp and they has all been delicious!
(5)Christopher B.
Definitely one of the finer restaurants in Hagerstow. Impressive full menu with reasonable prices.

Thai zap sausage- is mild flavor of meat mixed with herbs and spices this one is very less pronounce ( lemongrass, Thai chili, garlic, kaffir lime leaves) than other Thai sausage I had have in the past. Squid lovers -came with sweet and sour sauce looks like it came from a bottle rather than home made, the squids were fried in lightly batter not crispy as I would like, therefore the squids were little chewy. Papaya salad- I asked for spicy it wasn't exactly I expected I was given a container of dry chili powder Which lead me to believe the salad was prepared in advance and the flavor were too sweet and with a hint of vinegar instead of squeeze of fresh lime juice. Crying tiger- beef were sliced too thick and over cooked so the meat were very tough, there were way too many shallot in the salad the roasted rice powder were not freshly make or were too little . Crying tiger is about fresh roasted minced meat mixed with fresh roasted powder, freshly ground chili pepper, fresh squeeze of lime juice and fresh chop herbs like green onions, cilantro, mints and some seasoned spices. Therefore the dish were very bland. Chicken krapow (Thai basil) stir fried chicken were tough and chewy a few leave of Thai basil enough you can see there is basil but not enough to enhance the dish or the star of the dish. I prefer my Thai basil stir fried dry that how I always have had and when eating with warm rice the flavor of garlic, Thai chili pepper and the basil just infused with rice it just so yummy. Last dish I tried was choo-chee seafood combination of shrimps, squids, 2 small pieces of salmon and scallops with red curry the curry is typical Thai red curry cooked with coconut milk the sauce were way too sweet for me. It is not spicy at all it is very mild in flavor with a hint of sweet basil it was not a bad dish but the chef need to lighten up on the sugar and may I suggest using palm sugar -in Thai cooking using palm sugar would be authentic as the restaurant claim. I probably will go back and try different dishes before I skip this place all together.

Red and Green curry are both excellent, very spicy, creamy and rich. Vegetarian summer roll is good but lacks the potent fresh taste of a traditional summer roll. Service is very prompt. Also I must point out, (not that I am opposed to it) but the lone waitress there is clearly a full bore transvestite. Not that it botheres me, but it may be an issue for some. Just an FYI for those who care. Their duck roll appetizer is fantastic.
(4)Ricky K.
Good selection on menu, nice and cozy. Been there several times and each time is satisfying. Couldn't think of any real downside but the only thing that may be awkward is how your voice can carry throughout the restaurant so you feel like you have to constantly remind yourself to use inside voice....or should I be whispering?

This is a favorite for my husband and I, and he's pretty picky. We love the Panang Curry, Basil Duck, and fried rice.
(4)Cristina A.
The food was alright however, the service that we got from the waitress on staff was horrendous. It took forever for her to take our order, took even longer for us to get our food, and it was medicore at best. Seriously hoping that the other thai resturant in Hagerstown has better service.
(3)Michael R.
Food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Good to see business opening up in downtown Hagerstown. I will be back!!
(5)Vicki R.
Wow! What wonderful creative food the Thai Zap sausage is amazing the Drunken Noodles are the best we have ever eaten. But the Spicy Salty Shrimp was the most delicious combination of sweet and spice and one of the most unique dishes ever. Great service and great meal.

Pretty much my weekly takeout spot. Totally worth it.

Was just passing by Hagerstown on our way to Frederick Md and we thought we would yelp for Thai Restaurants. Found Thai Zap. Food was excellent in both freshness, flavor and portion size. Would definitely go there again if we are in the area.

We had dinner here on a weeknight and though it was slow and quiet inside, the food was amazing! More young couples started to trickle in as it got later. The decor is pretty modern with an asian twist. There isn't a lot of seating so you may want to call for reservations in advance on a weekend. We had the Pad Thai, Red Curry with chicken, and Panang Curry. All were very delicious, a bit on the sweet side but also a bit of spice. I would have liked a few more vegetables as I like a good balance between meat, rice and veg. The portion sizes are decent, especially the Pad Thai, and we had leftovers to take home. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat, they have better Thai food than any of the place in Baltimore City!
