Customer service is abysmal. Food is crap, portions are small. Don't go here.

...I do like fried chicken and their mild version is fine, but the service and hygiene in this place stinks...there is always a large amount of food on the floor around the kitchen and selection area (I sure hope that they don't serve it to customers after it has hit the floor!), and there is no need for all this obvious waste, because the employees could find time to sweep it all up and dispose of it properly...after all, the counter employees/cashiers have time to goof off, so why don't they have time to sweep up?...also, the service is slow and the customer side of the cashiers' count is always filled with disgruntled minorities returning their orders & expecting fresher food...maybe I should say that they are 'hogging' the counter --'hogs' being the best description here! and speaking of hogs, there is one female manager in the shop that is so obese that I wonder how the place ever makes any profit?! everytime that I have visited here (usually in the evenings), she is roaming about the kitchen, grabbing chicken & biscuits for her own dinner --no wonder she is so obese! the chain is low-class anyway and, because this unit is located in Greenbelt-Berwyn Heights, you must expect low-class people mobbing the place...go vegetarian instead!

I drove up to the window to purchase an item for my mother, she had asked me to purchase a chicken salad. I couldn't find the salad on the menu & ask the attendant if you had salads on the mnu, she abruptly answered no. I proceeded to look for something else and was being rushed by the attendant. After placing the order, I pulled up to pay and asked the lady why she was rushing the order, she took the money from me and closed the window without uttering a single word. I waited for her to come back , asked to speak to a manager and lodged a complaint...the manager apologized profusely and told me that by company policy, they are being timed and need to keep the order to under 60 seconds. When I got home, my mother removed the sandwitch from the bag, the sub roll was dry, the chicken looked dry and looked like it was from a previous day, there was no mayonaise, the lettuce and cucumbers were past their shelf life. Overall, that was a complete nightmare. I will not go to this store ever...specially given that competition in that area is fierce and customer service is way way better than your store.

This is pretty par for the course, considering it's a chain fast food location. I tend to experience long drive-thru lines, which is frustrating. Also, the staff might need new training about their menu or update their main drive-thru sign to take off foods that aren't options anymore. I'm not really interested in arguing with a cashier about something that's clearly labeled on the menu board.

Waited like "30 minutes" (22 minutes past the quoted time) for spicy strips. Manager watched me standing in front of her for at least 15 minutes and never acknowledged me. Cashier was friendly and polite. There was no effort made to compensate me. Only gotta tell me once...

Wow - the customer service at this location stinks! I clearly stated to the cashier htat I wanted a 4 piece combo, and she kept asking me if I want a platter. I kept on saying no, and finally, she deliberately overcharged me by adding something to my bill. I called the manager over and pointed out her mistake. Eventually I got refunded the difference. This is why we need to improve the educational system.

I've been buying chicken to-go for a family from this location for years and never had a problem until recently. The employees and new manager are incredibly rude and give you an attitude right when you walk up to them. The cashier did not greet or thank me and gave me attitude when I was specific on how I wanted my order. When I realized I was missing a side order, the manager practically threw it at me without eye contact or a word. Never coming back to this location again.

This place is always very slow and the order takers are rude and indifferent -- I have been going to this location since 2004, and the people who work there are in outer space! This last order included a drink that I did not order, when I told her I did not order a drink she had an attitude hemmed and hawed. I just ordered the special and the food was awful, the coating on the shrimp and chicken tasted like coconut, the shrimp and chicken tasted the same and had a weird rubbery taste...the last time I was there was 18 months ago, I am always hoping for something good to happen and it never does. I will not return.

I went through the drive thru -- I told the order taker it was my first visit to Popeyes. As I place my order, she rushes me. Then, I drive around to pay and pick up -- I hand her my card and she asks me to back up behind the red pole (it resets their time clock for service). When I get home, I am missing 2 side dishes. I call the restaurant and it rings and rings -- finally after the 4th call, they answer and tell me to come back and they will replace the items. I requested refund. They told me to speak to the manager, I called today and was told they cannot do that that they can replace the 2 items. Dinner is over that ship has sailed, I want a full refund. I called corporate. Then, the mgr calls me back and says she called corporate and they can refund me for the two items. They don't get -- they ruined my dinner and my evening. I should have looked at other reviews first. Do yourself a favor, go across to KFC.

Food is always pretty good here, but if I order 3 meals-all with chicken strips- do I really have to pay $.50 for extra honey mustard! EDIT: They mess up on every order our family makes... just make sure you check your food before you leave

Deal Alert: 2 piece meal (leg & thigh, breast & wing, or breast & thigh) for $3.49 Mon-Wed ( yelp.com/biz_photos/XOTn… ). Comes with one regular side and you can add a 32oz fountain drink for $0.50. (2 pc meal is normally $4.89). The place was packed for lunch today and most everyone got the $3.49 deal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fried chicken has been a staple in my life ever since my family immigrated to the States in the mid-80s. We lived in New Carrollton and there was a Church's Chicken, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and a Popeye's within 2 miles of our apartment. Being Koreans, my parents liked Popeye's the most since it had some hint of spiciness and they didn't have to eat it with kimchi. Family dinners, picnics, activities at school, you name it, fried chicken was there. Throughout college, a few friends and I regularly took the 22 Challenge. Armed with the Buy 11, Get 11 Pieces free, the three of us would be able to gorge on 7 pieces each for less than $5 a pop. Even as a working adult, there's always someone who brings Popeye's to a potluck. Always. As a result, I often get the itch for some fried chicken. Sure Peruvian chicken is great (Peruvian burps on the other hand...), Boston Market and Costco rotisserie have their place, but I often find myself yearning for that fried goodness, especially if I haven't been to a potluck in a few months. And the chicken I most often yearn for is Popeye's. Food - The chicken from the sailor man is battered with a most delicious batter and fried to a crispy golden brown. The meat is rubbed in a couple spots with mildly spicy seasoning, is dripping with grease, and is always moist. There is an upcharge for white meat, which is usually negligible in PG county since most everyone orders all dark meat. Even if you're not fond of spicy food, I recommend sticking with the spicy as the mild doesn't have nearly as much flavor. The buttermilk biscuits is the butter version of a crab cake - lumps of butter held together with filler. I usually get strawberry jam and eat the biscuit for dessert. The dirty rice (cajun rice) has a mystery meat (I hear they're gizzards) but it sure is good! The onion rings are fried to order, so they'll take about 5-10 minutes, but they are so worth the wait. The rice and beans are good, the cajun mashed potatoes never have enough gravy, and the cole slaw is laughable. Note: Never get mayo on your sandwich. I knew several people who worked at Popeye's at several different locations and some filthy McNasty employees relieved themselves in the tub of mayo. If you need mayo for your sandwich, ask for a packet. Location - Newly remodeled. So instead of having a giant red roof, it looks like most other stores in what i like to call GentriStrips: gentrified shopping centers a la Five Guys. They used to give sauces for free, but then got a tad stingier and started to charge a nominal fee. Then they got even stingier and charged a higher fee and got stingy with their jam/jelly and hot sauce packets. Fairly large interior, so not a bad place to bring a group to rock the 22 Challenge. Note: Coupons are usually available on the website. Usually a 2/3 piece meal deal and the aforementioned buy 11, get 11. Service - can be rather slow here and it seems the efficiency/effectiveness of the employees is inversely proportional to the number of customers, i.e., they got slower/stupider when the place gets more crowded. And trust me, there have been times when everyone and their mom have been in here. Love that chicken from Popeye's? Why, yes I do.

I admit, I go to this location out of convenience. All I'm saying is if you go through the drive thru .....check your bag and make sure your order is correct.
