I enjoy dining here. The restaurant is well maintained. The staff is consistently courteous and the food is consistently prepared as expected. They now have one of those soda machines with many options. I prefer the fresh tea, both sweetened and unsweetened. If you have never been to a Roy Rogers, their burgers are great. All of their food is fresh tasting and you can tell freshly prepared.

Always love Roy Rogers when I live in silver spring. It was as when they took their business from there. When I moved to Germantown I was happy to know I had one Roy roger less than a mile to go to. I Oder the number one it was very tasty and also Oder biscuit and drumstick which it was surprisingly good. Will come back for more for fast lunch

We drive half an hour to get here. This time, we were rained out of our Labor Day BBQ, so we loaded up the dog and came here. What's great? The fried chicken is great, really. The fries? Great too, but they after all are just fries... What stands put is the Roast Beef sandwiches- the buttered, toasted bun, the real (not flaked and formed crap from Arbys). Roast Beef, the strawberry shortcake. All top notch. Want a secret? Ask for the dipping juice separate. The sandwich comes out rarer, and you can dip it to your hearts desire. Like one other Roys, the place is impeccably clean, so it earns another star for just that. Unlike another poster, I wasn't bothered by a couple of cowboys, but I wouldn't mind it if they showed up; the atmosphere is cowboy western, classy and fun, not overdone. It's worth the drive.......

I love my Roys. I have an obsession with strawberry shortcake sundae!!! I love my fixings bar for my burgers... I love their bbq sauce its hard to describe but it has a nice kick to it. Though, I so used to receiving bad customer service at local fast food with teenagers but not this one. The kids that work here are great. Always great service and always makes my day special by making sure my fries are crispy and I have my sauces or whatever else I need.

The clientele is a little bit ghetto but they got their food on point. I always stop at a Roy Rogers every time I come across one no matter if I'm hungry or not. I was rolling by on my bike and saw this spot so I stopped in to get a Gold Rush. All the people working here were really nice like how people use to be back in the 80's. Pleasant, friendly, and generally wanted to get you what you wanted, fast. The customers were a bit more than what was desirable. Some woman was complaining about the amount of honey sauce on her sandwich. Then when I was gearing up some girl asked me for money and wanted to jump on my ride. Whatever. I'll still come here every time I'm in the area.

Overall, Roy Rogers is great. But this particular Germantown store has gone downhill. Twice now the place has been a wreck with staff working hard but managers that look like they never managed a thing. On a recent Saturday visit I asked for my money back and walked out. And the manager seemed to be a dream world as people were working hard around him. I will not return to this location again!

Honestly, there is nothing special about this place. Yeah you get to choose your toppings and put them on yourself with the condiment bar or whatever, but this isn't a feature that would bring me back again and again. I guess in terms of fast-food burgers it's good, but again nothing special.

I was back home visiting my parents for about a month. I've always loved Roy's, but this locations stands out so I just had to get on yelp and compliment them. First of all, I am a french fry fanatic. I usually always request for "fresh" fries. But not here! CONSISTENTLY, no matter what time I go, the french fries are ALWAYS piping hot right out the fryer... perfectly crisp and oh-so-good! The other most stand-out thing I have to comment on (I wish I had gotten their names...) is one of the drive-thru guys as well as one of the mangers who was working the drive-thru are SO PLEASANT. ALWAYS greeting with a "hello, how is your day going?" then asking for my order, as well as a wonderful send-off. It's not a flirting thing either, as I can hear this being done for the customers behind and in front of me. So much kinder than a dry and cold "can i take your order...". It's little things like that that go a long way and make your day so much better.

Not may left in Montgomery county but most are north of Gaithersburg, I feel this is one of the better locations and they have the Freestyle Coke machine. Standard RR goodness but be careful on the parking, the whole shopping center has this issue with a poorly designed parking layout but the restaurant inside it open and spacious while the bathroom is regularly kept clean.

Highly Recommend: -Strawberry Short Cake Dessert (strawberry topping, vanilla frozen yogurt, and breading made from mashed up biscuits) -Fried Chicken -Roast Beef Sandwiches with Roy's BBQ Sauce + Horseradish -Holster Fries (for those kids at heart) I bet this is the closet Roy Rogers in all of DC. It's like the gem of Gaithersburg. There used to be a Roy Rogers right in Aspen Hill, but it changed to a stupid McDonalds. I also hear there's a Little Caesar's still open in Pennsylvania somewhere....Yelp Road Trip anyone?

The West Coast can keep In-n-Out, Fatburger and Carl's Jr. Maryland's got ROY ROGERS! Chicken AND burgers! Really, this and blue crabs is all I look forward to when I come back home to Maryland (I'd add Cluck-U to that list but it just ain't the same anymore). Theres nothing like a Gold Rush chicken sandwich with monterrey jack cheese, honey and bacon strips, w/ a bit of horseradish I add on my own. Add on either a side of thick cut fries (best!), baked beans and ham (sooo sweet and tangy), cole slaw or a baked potato. Then add a single chicken drumstick and biscuit, and top it all off with a strawberry shortcake dessert! (ok, its not cornbread anymore... but still good with a biscuit.) All this as fast food! Let's not forget the awesome "Fixins bar" with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions to top your own sandwich the way YOU want it. Oh yeah, and make your own side salad... but youre officially not supposed to do that... so I'm not recommending it *cough*. (That would be like stuffing a handful of napkins in your purse... and what kind of mom would do that?) I was so excited when I heard of the return of the Roy Rogers franchise a few years ago (it was always around in very few, obscure locations but thanks to the Plamondon family for the revival all over Montgomery County) and especially the first new restaurant right next to my parent's place in Germantown. Hats off to you Roy Rogers!

This is one of the remnants of a once larger chain, now past its glory days it seems. I come here when I'm feeling nostalgic. Service is decent. Food is as good as, if not better than, what I remember of most Roy's back in the day. Although yes, I've only had the Gold Rush as of late. Honestly you can get most anything else at another restaurant, but the Gold Rush is fairly unique to Roy's, so try it out if you get the chance. Um, I don't know why, but there were 2 cowboys (well technically 1 cowboy and 1 cowgirl) in the restaurant wearing their boots, bandana, and cowboy hat. They were ordering food. Apparently they work for Roy Rogers (corporate I guess?). I actually had a really awkward conversation with one of them. Don't be deterred though, this is a decent fast food joint, plus unique in that it's one of the few Roy Rogers around.

I haven't been to a Roy Rogers location for about two decades. I was glad to find a restaurant location in my town. I ordered an 8-piece family meal with 4 biscuits to split with my wife and for leftovers the next day. The chicken was delicious! The exterior was very crunchy and the interior meat was nice and moist. However, there wasn't enough chicken meat. The ratio of meat to crunchy skin was a bit off for me. Also, the biscuits were really good. They were hot and buttery! I ordered our meal inside and took the food to go. They offered good service, and I was satisfied with my ordering experience. I received my meal quickly and was happy with my visit. I also noticed that they have one of those new Coke machines so you can make customized flavors. There's also a condiment bar with lettuce, tomato, sauces, etc. The restaurant appeared to be both clean and well-maintained.

It went down hill . Gave me the wrong order they gave me nasty fried chicken .. I asked for chicken strips .. So blown I was already on the highway for the 4th of July weekend . I called manager picked up didn't say sorry he just said uh oh ... And I told him I want my meal he said u have to come today or tomorrow .. I said I can't I'm already out for the holiday weekend .. He said there's a 24 hour policy .. Like really ?? Is that how you treat your customers .. So he said he can do it for me.. But I am not going to go back for my original meal. Also, Last time I came French fries were all hard .. And lettuce wasn't fresh 1 customer had to tell them lettuce isn't fresh . Me not bein. That picky I took the lettuce that wasn't fresh . The man apologized . But I probably wouldn't give this a try again because they messed up my order. chicken was hardd on the outside and I was already on the highway.managrr didn't apologize

It was very fresh breakfast and best service. My three years old baby dropped his apple juice, so they gave me a free apple juice.

Who knew Roy's had breakfast? Excellent experience. I got the biscuit, bacon, eggs, potato platter and it was excellent! Fresh and good! Pancakes were also excellent as was the coffee. For fast food breakfast, this one beats BK and McD's!

This was my favorite restaurant as a kid, not this location, but the franchise. Tastes the same as it ever did which is good nostalgia-wise, but maybe not the best burger. And $8.36 for a large bacon cheeseburger combo seems pricey, but that may be the nostalgia talking.

Order the chicken. It seems like this is a chicken place. The spicy chicken sandwich was crispy and left my mouth with that pleasant spice tingle. The burgers taste like they've been frozen and thawed. And they have a weird non-beef flavor/texture. I definitely would not order another burger. The fries were so-so. I like that they have a fixins bar and condiment bar. Though, the horseradish was basically mayonnaise and the barbecue sauce was too sweet. I'm intrigued by the fried chicken and the mashed potatoes (I have a soft spot for KFC mashed potatoes). And the shakes sounded yummy. I'll check those out if I happen to stumble on another Roy Rogers. I probably wouldn't seek out Roy Rogers, but I would definitely choose it over something like McDonald's.
