Sitting in the Lotte Supermarket food court, Palace is one of the three Korean places you can order from. Each seems to offer something a bit different, where Palace seems to focus on stone bowls and soups. The girlfriend tried out their beef shortrib bone soup, with clear noodles - it was a hit! The soup took about 10 minutes to come out, but its broth was above average. It wasn't too salty or watered down, and it comes with rice and a variety of side dishes (namely, kim chi and other semi-spicy items). The soup isn't cheap ($12), but it definitely filled her up. I had a chance to try it and it definitely hit the spot. I wouldn't go out of the way to come to Palace, unless I was in the Germantown area. Having said that, Lotte Supermarket looked deserted, and primed to soon downsize or go out of business. Hopefully they don't take Palace down with them.

Went here because of a Groupon for AYCE hot pot. We were really disappointed in the flavor of the broth and the dumplings. The noodles weren't the deliciously thick ones that we have been accustomed to at other Shabu Shabu restaurants. As for the sushi and buffet bars, they were bland and unexciting. We paid $30 for a two person experience. I can't imagine paying full price there! Total letdown.

Amazing seafood hot stone bowl (bibimbap w/ seafood instead of veggie, beef, and egg) that is deliciously sweet and spicy w/ the red pepper sauce. The stone bowl was hot hot hot so got lots of nice crispy rice on the bottom. The kimchi that came with the meal was to die for. The order came with kimchi, chunks of marinated radish, and miso soup. Super filling and absolutely delicious. All in only ~5 min wait time. The only con was the flies in the cafeteria area. UGH! But nothing they can really do about it.

In the mood for kalbe & this was the closest place I knew to get it in the Germantown area. Oh man! Sooooooo GOOOOOD. Thick juicy cuts of meat, well seasoned. There are 3 different little restaurants in the food court of Lotte Korean grocery store. I have been to 2 so far, Kook Bin & Palace both of which are good. I will have to try the 3rd place next time. I recommend this place if you are looking for good Korean food, large portions, & great price. Or, if you need to get dinner & get some grocery shopping done then come here.

I have to stop by here when in town. Their bbq beef special is delicious; this time I had bibimbap, which comes with soup. Very tasty! Prices are reasonable.

This is an amazing restaurant inside the Lotte grocery store. I've been to South Korea so I can assure you that what they serve here are authentic Korean dishes. My favorite here is the mackerel dish with tofu soup, rice and side dishes, including kimchi. It is a lot of food for under $12. The other dishes are very reasonably priced as well. There was really no reason to go to Germantown, until I discovered this restaurant...

Thought I would give this little place (located in Lotte food court) some love as I just got some take out and was surprised by how good their food is (I ordered the spicy beef soup and fried dumpling). The soup was loaded with brisket, scallions, mung bean, egg, rice noodles and had a nice level of that red pepper spice to it. The dumpling (mandu) tasted homeade and was pretty good sized, too. It was crunchy on the outside and stuffed with beef, spinach and rice noodle. Obviously, this place doesn't boast the extensive offerings of other full scale Korean restaurants, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced Korean bite or convenient take out place, this place did the trick for me.

I find Korean food in the DC metro area lacking. Or I may have simply been spoiled with all the choices of great korean restaurants growing up in Southern California. I did find Palace, of all place at the Lotte Mart's Food Court, to be very good. I love their suhl lung tahng (beef bone broth soup). It is probably one of the best in the DC metro area. Their yook gae jahng is also good. As the previous poster said if you are not familiar with Korean food go with the combos. If I had one recommendation on how to improve the overall dining experience at the Lotte food court is to hire someone to wipe the tables regularly and sweep the floors in the food court. I would give 4 stars for the food for all 3 restaurants at the food court, however, I would only give 0 star for the ambiance and the lack of personel to keep the place presentable.

Portions are awesome, food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. I'm a regular visitor and have enjoyed everything I have ordered. My favorite is the spicy seafood soup...yum! The cold spicy buckwheat soup is delicious and a great choice for the summer months!

This is one of a few little Korean gems in Lotte, past the bakery and cosmetics, in the food court. Probably one of the better places around the area to grab lunch, especially if you're feening for some Korean food. If you're a newbie at Korean food, I suggest to just be safe and go for their combo deal, a choice of meat (bulgogi, galbi, pork) and a soup (tofu, seafood, etc), plus rice and radish and kimchi. You get all of this at a decent price, although I heard they raised their price by a couple dollars in the past years. No surprise. Anyway, I really do enjoy these cafe style Korean places, as they have a huge (overwhelming) selection of Korean dishes, and it's really a great choice for lunch, hassle free (no tips), and generally easy on the wallet.
