Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

First time here I found out about this place at the gas station I just took the menu but today I was looking for a place to eat through yelp .. I actually came here before but was skeptical to try to eat from here since it's in a gas station .i said oh it's this place but I took the chance to eat !! I ordered mozerella sticks chicken gyro and buffalo wings .. Make sure if u order mozerella sticks to eat it ASAP ! Mines got cold because I had to do errands after I ordered food but the bread of the mozerella sticks was very different and good . The guy at the cashier gave me a discount almost 2 bucks which was nice of him . I will def come again . It's all about trying new things and I did take the chance to try from here .

This isn't even close to NY style pizza. That said, it's still pretty good pizza in general. Much better than Dominos/Papa Johns/etc. We also got a Greek salad and that was good. Nice sized portion for the price.
(4)Brian G.
Used to be very good but got greasier and less friendly over time. This is inside the gas station and offers subs, pizzas and basic chicken wing type carryout. There are a couple tables for eat in too.

Randomly decided to try this place out after stoping to get gas. I saw that they had a vegetarian section on their menu and it peaked my interest. I got the vegetarian Greek pita. It was pretty delicious. Definitely by no means light and healthy. Grilled mushrooms, onions, and green peppers instead of the meat that they normally put inside. For a vegetarian craving a semi-unhealthy meatless gyro type thing, this place is perfect. The people working there were friendly, and there was no line when I went around 130 pm on a Wednesday. Sandwich came out in around 5 minutes. Worth the try, and despite being delicious, it is probably a little too unhealthy for my everyday taste.

I finally tried this for dinner tonight. It's always caught my eye, since the gas station it's located in, is one of my top favorite. I ordered steak and cheese combo and wings. Steak and cheese = Real good, it'd be better if they toasted the roll though, or maybe I can ask next time cause there definitely will be. Next time. French Fries = they were your typical carry out French fried except these were overly powdered with Old bay. Jumbo wings = they're not kidding when they say jumbo. These are not the typical pigeon wings you find in restaurants and carry out places, these are jumbo wings!!! The only negative thing I have to say is... I ordered barbecue wings and I got mild buffalo, but they were still delicious! Tip: ask for two ramekins of ranch, cause it's tiny and one will not do with half an order of these wings. Overall, food and prices were great! I will definitely be back to try other things on their menu. :) Thumbs up!!!!
(4)Candace S.
I looked for the best carry out pizza in the area. It was good but too greasy. While the chicken wings looked to not have much seasoning. They were actually very tasty! I had the hot option and would get them again.

Yummy pizza. And get the special offer. Buy one XL pizza and get small free! Steak and cheese sandwich is pretty good as well. It gets soggy if you get delivery bc of the lettuce. Otherwise very good.

Ok let me say I live across from Manginos and they are pretty decent. But here's my downside the pissed me off a bit. I bought a deal from deal bucks which is the Clipper magazine deal site. So I take the fam and we're on a pretty tight budget so you want to try and economize. Needless to say you can't use the voucher on any of the specials. Now let me put this side note even with the specials I was ordering it slightly exceeded the price of the voucher. So by ordering each meal individually I spent way more than I wanted. Not a happy camper. I don't go to Manginos often just once in a blue moon. But this experience has me putting them on some serious hiatus. The customer service just sucked in this case. But the food was decent.

Pizza the way it is supposed to be. Just the right proportions of cheese, sauce, and a perfect crust. Yes, it is in a gas station and hard to find. Don't let it stop you. Manager's special- XL pizza with 2 toppings for 11.99. Go for it.
(5)Cesar P.
Best pizza in the D.C. area... In a gas station no less. Good crust, not greasy, excellent ingredients... Good price too. We used to get it almost every week. They have other items, but the only thing we ever get is the pizza. On busy nights the delivery time can take up to an hour, but it's usually worth the wait.
(5)David D.
I decided to try this place again... mediocre is the perfect description of the pizza. I still prefer Milanos Pizza and Pasta...they make the best Quattro Formaggio.

After reading all the stellar reviews, I decided to give this place a chance. Yuck, yuck, double yuck. I cannot believe there are so many positive reviews. The pizza tasted worse than the cardboard box it came in. Dry, crumbly crust, canned toppings (is it too much to ask for fresh vegetables??), cheap cheese that didn't properly melt, ick. The husband and I NEVER throw out leftovers, but after 1 slice each, we tossed the rest of this in the garbage.

As a native New Yorker, my efforts to find good pizza here in Maryland has been a relatively painful process, and has often been met with failure. In my travels outside of NY over the last decade, I have learned that any place outside of New York which claims to sell "New York style" pizza is typically a trainwreck. Having said that, Manginos was pretty decent. It wasn't fantastic, and I wouldn't say that it's particularly representative of true New York style pizza, but I wasn't considering committing seppuku after having tried it. So far, it's among the better pizzas that I've had here since relocating to Maryland, and is one of the few that I would say are actually better than the shitty chains. I wouldn't be opposed to ordering from Manginos again, especially since delivery was pretty quick and the pizza was still hot when it got here.
(3)Kimberly T.
For pizza from a gas station, this place is really good. Their pizza is huge and delicious. They have this Italian sauce to dip the crust in which is amazing as well.
(4)Dan S.
Love this place, i've been going there for over 10 years and I like everything on the menu, my fav is the ham and pineapple pizza, they also give you the "house dressing" which is great! Is a little small to dine in but we always order to go anyways. Cust. service is good as well and is actually located inside one of the cheapest gas stations in the area, thats a plus! A+++
(5)Agnieszka S.
The food is a ok, maybe it tastes better right out of the oven, unfortunately it's almost always cold by the time they deliver.
(2)Hibah S.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza considering it's from a gas station. We've tried the sausage & mushroom, the sausage & onion, and the ham & pineapple. All three were yummy. Great deal for an extra large. I was full after just three slices. We always have leftovers.
(4)E H.
Gas station pizza place! Best pizza I've had in DMV below $100. Onion rings too. It takes a bit of time for delivery, but the pizza is on the point, and it's enormous. It's very delicious and I wish they had this in VA.
(5)Sandra O.
We've been looking for a "go to" pizza parlor for months. After reading the good reviews for this one we stopped in and got a take out pizza, sausage and mushrooms. I've had better frozen pizzas. Italian sausage was bland. Guess we'll just keep looking.
(2)Christine C.
considering it is located in a gas station, the quality of food is darn good! (gas station food makes me nervous) We ordered for delivery, order included a large pizza(very good), steak n cheese(aweosome, tender and seasoned well), italian cold cut(i didnt try but my friend couldnt stop raving about it), wings(i like my wings a little crispy, but still good) and chicken tender w/ fries ( very well seasoned fries and the tenders were good) cant wait to return for another steak and cheese! good food and good prices
(4)Krystal W.
I have been fooled before with gas station food, so I didnt want to miss an opportunity to try this place. My husband and I ordered pizza and wings... it was DEELISH! Though I have never been inside the actual "restaurant" I will say that the food I delivered was hot and fresh. The wings were large and the sauce was on point! We may be ordering here from now on!
(5)Dave W.
In my hunt for even passable NY Pizza in Moco, I've twice tried Manginos. Sorry, it's not even remotely close. Even with tempered expectations for the second try, it wasn't even good.
(1)K P K.
Yes indeed, it is one of the better pizzas out there. I finally made the drive out to Germantown to try this place out and am really glad I did. Yes, it's in a gas station but the pizza is very good and reasonably priced but it stacks up to Pizza CS and to Flippin Pizza pretty well. I will certainly be returning for more pizza and to try other items like the wings. A added benefit of this place is that you can gas up the car with cheaper gas while waiting for your food :-)
(4)Shasha S.
Their pizza indeed has a lot of flavor.the lamb gyro is amazing but could use more lamb .overall great food for a gas station joint.the delivery service i think takes wayyy too longand my pizza was cold last time they delivered it.i will be back for carryout only!
(4)Ben R.
Beats all the chain pizzas. One of the best pizzas in the area. Don't be turned off by the fact that its in a gas station. They have good specials. Try the eggplant parmesan pizza with the garlic dipping sauce.

The pizza teats like real New York style and also thin crust. Very good food and service.
(5)Christian S.
Pizza is pretty good. Service could better, but it's in a gas station. Prices are more than reasonable. I personally think they close a bit earlier than they should, but they have families just like us.

Doesn't honor the free small cheese pizza with XL purchase. Tried to use coupon in store and also the one on this app.

I Oder delivery got a steak cheese and fries. The steak and cheese was decent but had better. The fries were good and they deliver fast didn't take so long. Will try more other food and we will see

Super tasty pizza and pretty damn decent subs. Don't let the gas station locale fool you, this is some pretty darn good food up in here.

First off, for those who have lived/worked in Germantown for a while and are only now discovering this place, Mangino's is co-located inside the Washingtonian Express convenience store and gas station at the NW corner of Germantown Road (MD 118) and Frederick Road (MD 355). If it were not for the advice of Yelpers, I may have never noticed that Mangino's serves up pretty darn good pizza and subs here. Today was my second trip there, as I had a hankering for a Chicken Parm sub and was at a loss for where else to find one. Then I recalled Mangino's and off I went. While not quite the best version of this sandwich I've ever had, it was made to order and served up crunchy and hot. The sauce at Mangino's is one of their best attributes -- not too sweet and not too spicy. And that's what made this sub worthwhile. I'd go back and do it again when the craving returns. As for pizza, I've had a slice on both visits and concur that it is one of the best tasting pizzas in the G-town area. Though I've yet to order a full pie, fresh from the oven. So I'll reserve my final judgment until that happens. BTW, while Mangino's is positioned for takeout, there are two small tables for four ppl along the windows ... and the courteous owner keeps them nice and clean. While the website does not show a menu for the Germantown location, they do offer the full menu as attached to the other regional Mangino's locations. Definitely worth stopping in if you're looking to mix up your lunch routine with something worthwhile.
(4)Lisa I.
Yes, it is a gas station. I generally make a rule of not eating in gas stations, other than the occasional sandwich from Flying-J's. However, Mangino's will be my regular exception to this rule. My husband and I tried this place after reading other Yelp reviews for pizza in the Gaithersburg/Germantown area. I was craving a New York or artisan style pizza (basically not Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc.), and found just what I was looking for here. We got an XL with sausage and onions, and it was awesome and thin and delicious. In fact, what made me remember to review this place is the fact that we are going back there tonight to pick up another pizza! We're also going to try one of their hot subs. Tried the wings last time, and was not in love, so I won't waste my calories there. Even though they do not advertise it on their website, they do have delivery as well as take-out at this location. I would not suggest eating-in, because HELLO it is a gas station. The prices are really good, and they have daily specials.
(4)Luma L.
Surprisingly good! Pizza was much tastier than Dominos and the people were way friendlier! Pizza wasn't greasy and the eggplant parm was also yumm..

Best pizza we've found in the area. My wife and I usually order the XL White Italy and have them add sausage. We also ask for a free loaf of the cheesy bread (see coupon on their website), which is fantastic. Service is always speedy and the staff is super-friendly.

Yum. I Usually have the xlarge 2 topping for 11.99. Solid NY style pizza.
