I wanted to like this place really bad but after three attempts at different times of the day, I continue to be disappointed. If you are the kind of person that likes to go to a semi fancy restaurant for pizza, this is the place to visit BUT if you actually want a good Italian meal, you are better off going to DC. The gnocchi was chewy and salty. The only highlight are the meatballs and only two or four is just not cutting it. The ravioli is just plain bad. I think the frozen ravioli I buy at Costco tastes much better than theirs. The pizza saves this place but I rather make an order from Pizza Hut, Dominos or go to Cosi to get my money's worth. Won't be back.

When this place first opened, I was excited to try it because it looked like a great place to eat. Took my mom here for her birthday & I was pretty disappointed. My mom & I chose from the Pasta Casalinga & Pasta ripiena Casalinga section. I chose the mezzaluna with cream sauce and I chose the agnoli with cream sauce. The pasta took about 40 minutes to come out & when it came out the food wasn't hot & the pasta was undercooked, which was very confusing to me. The restaurant wasn't even busy. This caused me to refrain from ordering an appetizer or dessert after our entree even though we were still hungry.

I think La Tagliatella has converted me - I am their #1 pizza fan - from the fruity brunch pizza to a variety of unique and add or take away toppings for the pizzas, I have fallen in love with the thin, crispy crust and fresh ingredients. I am a Papa John's girl no more!

Salume pizza was excellent. Very thin crust. Wait staff was capable and friendly and knew the menu. Server offered many suggestions and could describe the dishes well. Great music (not too loud) and atmosphere- love the decor. Dinner menu seemed a bit pricey (especially appetizers) but excellent food quality. Northern Italian menu- venture out and try something new. It's really okay that there is a fried egg on your pizza. Pretend you are in Italy. Not your typical Americanized Italian restaurant.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Everything was over-salted. Cheap olive oil served with over salty bread. My gnocchi were burned ( how is that even possible), the pork was dry and flavorless , except the salt, you could definitely taste the salt, and there was barely enough food on the plate to feed a child. So not worth the price. I will never go back.

Absolutely awful! We went there for work dinner, they don't really have tables for large parties, even though we made a reservation we were seated at a bar table! Service was VERY slow, we would have to wait forever to have our drinks refreshed and it wasn't even that busy! At some points we would have to go to the bar to remind them to come over, don't they want to make money??? Now to food... YUCK! I had a risotto, well to make long story short, it was crunchy! How do you serve a risotto with crunchy rice?! Besides the fact that it was unappealing grey color. Nobody was impressed with their food, steaks were dry and rubbery, Alfredo pasta was grainy. I've never had such terrible Italian food. Every time I drive by this place I cringe, that's how bad it was!

We went for dinner on a Thursday night. I got a fillet. My wife got a prosciutto pizza and another guest had a pasta dish with napoletano sauce. My fillet... well, when it first showed up, it was cooked well done instead of medium and looked like hamburger meat, not fillet. The waiter took it back but it took at least 20 minutes for me to get a new one. Everyone was done eating by then. Now the new fillet was decent so I can't really complain about it. When the food first came out, my wife's pizza was so overcooked that it fell apart when being cut into slices. Unbeknownst to us, the waiter put in an order for a new pizza that arrived around 15 min later, a TAD less crispy. The pizza had hardly any cheese or prosciutto on it--more of an arugula pizza than anything else. My other guest thought her pasta dish was low on flavor and very dry. Based on this experience, we won't be back.

I just ate at La Tagliatella and had a great experience! The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, the restaurant was clean and beautiful and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend La Tagliatellia and I plan to return.

Food was decent but way to pricey. 17 for a pizza that doesn't fill you up is too much.

I've been here a couple times, for the carbonara and for the amazing service I continually get from Amber. I recommend requesting her for the best time. She gave great recommendations for food and wine pairings. The majority of the food is average but the service is why I'll be back. Had a great time!

First time here. Loved the fact that I could make my own pasta dish. Kids pasta was a huge portion for $5.99. Pizza was wonderful, loved the thin crust. Mussels were amazing. Veal was perfect. Had excellent service from Hannah. Will definitely return and highly recommend for some good Italian in Montgomery County.

It's a very nice space and the service was good, although I was there for lunch on a cold day and they weren't very busy. The so-called rolls are balls of pizza dough and the oil, as another reviewer noted, was just plain olive oil. I had a cup of the minestrone, which only had a few shreds of vegetables. I've had better versions at a chain like Bob Evans. I had the Penne Gratinati, which was penne with a little tomato sauce and cheese. Nothing to write home about. If you're in Germantown and want Italian, stick with Agrodolce in the same strip as Applebee's and Bob Evans, or head south on Route 355 to King Farm and the Fontina Grill. I believe Tom Sietsema said it all in his review: No, grazie' to La Tagliatella, a chain imported from Europe.

I was really excited to try this place based on the menu. I was expecting delicious and traditional Italian food for the high price. I got neither. I ordered the pasta carbonara and it was absolutely terrible. the only redeeming factor was the actual homemade parpadelle. Carbonara is a traditional egg yolk based sauce with pancetta and parmigiano regiano. The sauce was WHITE, which is not the color of egg yolk and i think i only found 2 pieces of "pancetta," which was actually just 0.5cm squares of fat. This sauce tasted more like a really bad alfredo, which is not Italian at all. I only ate it because it was a work lunch and I did not want to send it back in front of my colleagues. People around me had various items: pizza, pasta bolognese, another carbonara, and pesto with chicken (did i mention you have to pay upwards of $4-5 for protein? - ridiculous considering the starting prices). The pizza was the crunchiest thing I've ever heard someone eat and it was not made of pizza dough. it looked more like a cracker. My colleague said the pesto was tasteless and the bolognese had barely any meat. It was also made with fresh tomatoes instead of stewed for hours. TL;DR: Too pricy and not even good. I will never return.

I went to this restaurant on a Wednesday around 4:30pm. The place was empty, the staff was sitting around the bar probably because there weren't any clients around. The place looks fantastic and it may possibly be the fanciest restaurant in the area. Unfortunately, the food did not share the same concept. I ordered the ravioli with the carbonara sauce which came with pieces of bacon/pancetta. The ravioli was hard on the outside, as if it were frozen and put into a microwave to thaw out. Within the ravioli was beef and pork, it was extremely dry and tasted horrible. The sauce was okay, I didn't know too much about it nor how it should taste, however the bacon was fatty and thick and had a hint of barbecue flavor which made it taste like store bought honey glazed ham. I was not able to finish my plate and when my waiter came to ask me if i wanted a box, I replied "no thanks" he then replied "so, I should throw it away?" as if he felt offended by me not wanting to take the food. I then took a look at the dessert menu to see if I could salvage this experience. I ordered the vanilla ice cream with a crepe wrapped around it. This just added to the disappointment, the plate it arrive in was cold with chocolate hard as a rock, which seemed awkward, I didn't figure it out until after my first bite that my dessert and probably all desserts are already made and left in the fridge to stay "fresh". The crepe was cold, maybe frozen, I attempted to unwrap the crepe so I could at least enjoy the ice cream. I had to dig my fork into the crepe because that's how hard the crepe was and upon removing the wrapped crepe, the ice cream was pasty. I was expecting a nice warm crepe and fluffy vanilla ice cream inside. Again, unfortunately, I could not finish my dessert. I left very dissatisfied and I am certain I will not be returning.

We went with my whole family, including a few picky eaters. Everyone seemed pleased with their meal, my boyfriend wished his pizza would have had more glaze and been slightly thicker, which I agree with. I went with a fellow yelpers recommendation of the gnocchi with the Parmesan truffle and it was SO good. My Caesar salad I could have done without. It was basically deconstructed with fancy lettuce. Service wise- this accounts for the deduction of a star, as this started out rough. Since three of us were getting wine we declined another drink, but it took way to long for us to find out they didn't have the wine we selected. I can infer the server was waiting for the bartender to provide us a sample of the other options- but I would have preferred to just know and not wait 15 mins for a drink. Also the other server near missed dumping a salad on my mother, and a few other requests that seemed to take longer than we would have liked for an empty restaurant. We will go back.

I really enjoyed the muscles for the appetizer. For the entree I ordered the mushroom and truffle sauce with pasta. I didn't like it at all, but the waiter was nice enough to exchange it for something else.

Not too impressed. Ravioli tasted a bit undercooked. The Carbonara that my wife had didn't have much flavor. The shrimp had no flavor. Not a terrible experience, but definitely not high on list of recommendations.

Let me warn you that the booths are small. Not uncomfortably cramped, but definitely not enough wiggle room. That being said, these small booths are rather restrictive food-wise. Meaning you can't order a lot of food at once, which is kinda dumb if you have four people in your party. I went (and am currently here waiting on my pizza....) with my parents and little sister. The 'rents ordered mussels for the appetizer and my little sister ordered a half Caesar salad and kids cheese pizza. My step-dad also ordered his entree first: ???? pizza. Those items came out first. Now our waiter told is that both my mother'a entree and my entree we're put on hold until we cleared the table because he "didn't want to overwhelm us and for our food to go cold." Okay, cool, guess I'll just share with my parents a bit. It takes them 15 minutes to clear the table and another 10 for the waiter to notice. We've been here 35 minutes and I just want my damn pizza. I steal a slice from my sister and step-dad, but I want to save room for my entree (which I'm still waiting for). We call our waiter over and ask for our orders to be placed. He reassuringly tells us that "the kitchens are super quick." Cool. It's been fifteen minutes. Prosciutto pizza finally came out. It was cold. Awesome. I probably would've enjoyed it more if it was mildly warm. All in all the food was okay. My parents loved it and they're Italian foodies. My only qualm was the service and structure. It's not unlikely that a party of four would order two pizzas. I think it's silly that you have to prioritize one order over another because there isn't room on the table. It's incredibly awkward when half of the party finishes their meal whereas the other half hasn't even received theirs yet. I think the establishment should invest in one of those tiered pizza server stands where you can place one pizza on top and one of the bottom. Very efficient.

Tried this new place for girls night out. Overall, the place isn't bad. The wine list is respectable, although they don't have everything on the list in stock. The lobster bisque was creamy and had nice flavor but was thin and light on lobster. Carpacio appetizer melted in your mouth and came with nicely toast flat bread. Pastas were fresh and well prepared and the sauces offered some variety, including truffle and cream sauces. Desserts are not the star here, but the service is friendly and it's still easy to get a table.

Germantown has been lacking in the restaurant department. This area needs some good restaurants outside of hamburger type fast food chains. I was excited to see we finally got a Italian Restaurant. This is not your typical Italian restaurant i.e. Olive Garden or Carrabba's. If you are looking for pepperoni pizza or chicken parmesan this restaurant is not that type of place. My first visit was the second week they were opened which I was very hesitant as I know new restaurants are still working out the kinks. I was pleasantly surprised at the service we got sitting at the bar. I went for their happy hour. I had the drink of the day which was the Italian version of a margarita. My friend and I weren't sure what to order off the menu and the male bar tender and one of the people from the VA restaurant who was helping out recommended the La Tagliatella pizza which is $5 during happy hour (lunch size). The LaTagliatella pizza is cooked in brick oven on thin crust with tomato, mozzarella, fried eggplant, parmigiano-reggiano drizzled with honey and balsamico glaze. My friend and I didn't like eggplant but they convinced us that we would like it since the eggplant is sliced then and fried like a potato chip. We took their recommendation and ordered it as well as the meatball sliders to split. We enjoyed both of them. The pizza was fabulous! We never thought we would like eggplant on a pizza and the meatball sliders was good as well. The pizza was larger than we expected since it was lunch size portion. We couldn't finish it that we had to get a to-go box. 7 days ago (2/17/14) I went back for happy hour/dinner. I ordered the Bellini which is $3 during happy hour. Very crisp drink. I also ordered caesar salad (which comes with anchovies and some kind of Italian marinated tomato) and taglierine pasta with spicy napoletano sauce. Delicious! For once when the menu mentions spicy it typically never is but this had a kick to it. Not overpowering where my mouth was burning but nice to have something listed as spicy actually be spicy. I love the pasta, it reminded me of what pasta is supposed to look and taste like. I love how the pasta menu is set up with you choosing the type of pasta you want: stuffed, fresh or dried and then choosing your sauce: tomato, olive oil, light cream, or cream. I'm looking forward to trying their brunch (which is offered on Sundays, I wish they offered it on Saturdays too) and other items off of their menu. It is now my favorite Italian restaurant and I will going back often for happy hour and dinner. I highly recommend everyone giving this place a try.

Skimpy on the Quattro Formaggi sauce three times. Yes, you read that right. I am so disappointed that La Tagliatella has consistently been stingy with the sauce. On three separate occasions I have visited for lunch with my friends and have never had enough sauce on my plate to create a tablespoon. I literally paid $15 for bare bones pasta. What really pisses me off is that it tastes so good! The third time I came here, desperate for at least ONE spoonful of the unctuous goodness to scrape up, I asked for extra sauce and it arrived just as naked as the two dishes in the past. I sent it back and asked to chat with the MOD but was told that he was too busy. FAIL. On the other hand, the Caesar salad was excellent and had big slices of shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano! I am a huge parm lover and the generous shavings of parm really made me happy. Service is excellent and the servers know their stuff! Highly recommend you come here for lunch.

We happened to come here on opening night for my belated birthday celebration and I'm so happy that we did! The menu is rather extensive - there is a large selection of pizzas, salads, and antipasti. On the other side, you'll find entrees and the customizable pasta dishes. Tagliatella favorites are indicated with the little pepper/leaf icon. The gnocchi was on point. Soft and delicate in a simple parmigiano truffle sauce, garnished with an egg on top and shaved parmigiano-reggiano, arrived at the table. With the hypnotizing scent of truffle wafting through the air, I began to envision myself coming here everyday for supper. Delicious!! The massive pizza oven that greets you as you enter the restaurant ignites curiosities into the pizza menu. The tagliatella pizza was thin and crispy; it would serve as a good appetizer for 3-4 people. The balsamic glaze that was drizzled on top was a game changer for me. I'm coming back for more :) Dessert was slightly disappointing. We finished things off with a tiramisu that came in a stem glass typically used for ice cream. There was a massive load of mascarpone cream and very little coffee-soaked ladyfinger. Definitely not enough to share amongst 4 people if your party has a big sweet tooth, with a maximum share capacity of maybe 2.

The first step is admitting you have a problem....My name is Connie and I am a meatball snob. Kinda funny since I am Chinese but we, Asians, eat our fair share of pressed meat. I had come here once before for a Yelp event and it was so wonderful to see Ashley (General Manager) and Stacey (Director of Buzz) again. These ladies are so welcoming and will literally bend over backwards (I think one was gymnast and the other grew up in the Circus) to make you feel at home!! It is no surprise that the rest of the restaurant staff is just as attentive. Blanca was our server for the evening...and we were a group of 14 (and I saw a couple of drinks being sent back but I never saw the smile leave Blanca's face!!!) We were there for Happy Hour and I cannot say enough great things about their Sangria!!! Fruity, strong wine with whole blackberries for $4. I even had a Bellini for $3 (someone was sending it back!!). There are glasses of wine ($4) and cocktails for $5. We started with the Focacce Liguri. A duet of flat breads: The first with goat cheese, honey, bresaola, balsamic glaze and crushed pistachios, the second with provoletta cheese, duck ham, arugula and Parmigiano-Reggiano. ($8) I encourage you to try this....not vegetarian but melt in your mouth delicious!!! The sweetness is a surprise but a perfect pairing!! Next were Homemade sausage and beef meatballs seasoned with garlic, oregano and Grana Padano served with your choice of Pesto Rosso Panna or Spicy Napoletano sauce. (2/$5 or 4/$8) I should have started out with the meatballs!!! I have been to longstanding Italian restaurants where they are dry and I have actually left them on my plate. These meatballs were moist and so scrumptious...my favorite were in the pesto rosso panna sauce...it is like creamy soup!!! We had two pizzas: Tagliatella - Tomato, mozzarella, fried egg plant, Parmigiano-Reggiano drizzled with honey and aceto balsamico ($5). And my favorite was the Salume - Tomato, mozzarella and chorizo dressed with a fresh cracked egg and oregano ($5). Yes!! A fried egg!! So different and unexpected but what a nice flavor....and perfectly runny!!! By now I am stuffed. No room for gelato but four little scoops are only $6 and you can even mix and match!! The coconut is to die for and the marscapone had cherries mixed in? So creamy and decadent!! I sat back and sipped my cappuccino ($5) and knew that all was well in the world!

Ok so I think this place has potential but today - I'm disappointed. I was so excited to try this restaurant and welcome this "gem" to Germantown BUT our waiter was missing two things: knowledge of the menu and serving experience. Now don't get me wrong, he was polite and willing to help but lacked the answers to all of our questions. I don't understand why there weren't experienced, knowledgable servers available for the opening week so that the staff could get proper training. Luckily my family and I were able to navigate through the menu on our own, and placed our orders but when it came to my order, I ordered the salmon, I could only get the two sides that they were serving. So I asked if I could sub them and the server said I could. Great I ordered a side of pasta and a side salad. But when my order came out, it was missing the pasta; apparently my server figured I no longer wanted both sides. Sigh.... So after confirming that I did still want the pasta, he agreed. But apparently that wasn't enough... The manager then came out to inform me that this was not their usual practice but since this was the waiters mistake she'd approve it this one time. I was completely annoyed at this point. But the worst part was that once the pasta was served, it tasted awful. Just plain awful. And neither the manager or the server checked to see if I enjoyed the pasta. I guess that didn't matter since I shouldn't have had it anyway. Warning: do not order the tortellone with the spicy napoletano sauce. The pasta has a weird fishy after taste. Not sure if this was the intended flavor or if it was spoiled. Overall, I do plan to try this restaurant again once they have worked out all of the kinks. I really hope they work out the kinks. Also my family enjoyed their dishes so it wasn't all bad.

I love to support local, small business. But this is one that you couldn't pay me to eat at again. I can accept their idea of a "different pizza", but the service was exceptionally poor! Before we ordered our dinner we asked for a bottle of wine. We waited, and waited until I finally asked if the wine would be served. Our food was served, and still no wine. I asked the waiter again, and he said the manager needs to go get the bottle. The manager was seen having a conversation with a lady during this entire process. Once he finally took a break from said conversation he went to retrieve the bottle and after a few minutes comes over empty handed and says sorry, I can't find the bottle. By this time we were almost finished eating our terrible and expensive pizza and we said forget the bottle. A very simple and pathetic "sorry" was all we received as he turned and walked away. From that moment on, our waiter wanted nothing to do with us. Short attitude and when the check came he actually tried to bill us for the bottle he never served. I cannot see this restaurant surviving for too long. With the service you receive, it's just a matter of time before the doors close and a new owner emerges. What a shame...

The place looks fun and modern on the outside and I've been wanting to stop by since I always pass it. The reviews didn't scare me off, because as a former waitress, I know how things can be when getting started. I also appreciated the Manager replying to reviews on Yelp... it shows that they DO care and want to improve. I ordered a meal to-go. I called while in Wegman's and picked it up on my way out. Inside, it's old school Italian looking. I expected something different, but that's not a bad thing. They have nice big seating area for large parties and huge bar area with lots of seats. Although it's winter, I could see that the outdoor seating area also has a bar window where you can possibly order from. Looks like a place I'll definitely check out during the summer... when I'm no longer pregnant ;) I LOVE outdoor seating. The bartender I got the order from was super friendly and attentive. I appreciated her service. Most to-go staff don't care about you because they think they won't get a tip or you are less important than a dine-in customer. She also included the bread which I asked for over the phone. At other places, 99% of the time the bread is always forgotten when I ask for it for my to-go orders. I ordered a salad and carbonara pasta with shrimp added to it. The salad was fantastic.. VERY fresh with a great dressing. I really enjoyed it. The pasta was good... the shrimp were OK. I know shrimp isn't a part of carbonara pasta, but I expected them to have more flavor I guess. The meat in the carbonara was undercooked and all fatty portions... I'm pregnant so I had to throw it in the microwave for a bit to be safe. I would have to say my favorite part of the meal was the bread lol... the bread was AMAZING!! When I go back I would like to try the pizza and another pasta dish... and a cocktail ;)

This place is delicious! I have only been here once, but I will be back. The Sangria is awesome, a bit on the sweet side, but that is how I like it. It comes in a huge pitcher, fills about 6+ glasses. The truffle pasta is delicious and so is their roasted red potatoes. Highly recommend getting a side of those. The prosciutto and bacon pizza is awesome too. The pizza is a thin crust, but very crispy.

I'm usually excited about non-chain ethnic restaurants opening in the burbs. But this place was disappointing and grossly overpriced, especially for the location. The breadstick appetizer which was ok. We shared a main course, the gnocchi in the spicy tomato sauce. The gnocchi was chewy and gummy, probably the least favorite I've every had. Even the frozen stuff is better than this. And the spicy tomato sauce was clearly canned and a very thick, pasty, dense consistency. And from someone that loves heat in my food, this sauce was so spicy that I could barely palette it. I was expecting something like an garlic based arribiatta sauce, but it was just straight up chili pepper. Not very authentic Italian at all. For dessert we got a tiramisu and after a huge recommendation from the waiter a chocolate molten cake - we choose the strawberry ice cream. The tiramisu was ok, but mostly cream and missing the cookie portion. The chocolate molten cake was dry. The best part of the dessert was the strawberry ice cream. That was good. Overall a very low food experience.

We went there for brunch we stood there and waited to be seated (the place was empty) that should have been our first clue. Our waiter finally came over and I asked what the Bellis drink was, he said "I think wine with some type of syrup in it" Our pasta came out within 10 minutes the tortellini was under cooked, my friend said her Carbonara was extremely salty, it looked like milk over tortellini with a few pieces of bacon and she couldn't eat it. I got Bolognese pasta that looked like no other Bolognese I had ever had, it was basically a weak spaghetti sauce and my tortellini was also under cooked. I asked if they had bread and was told the kitchen was swamped an it would be out in a little while, again there was like 3 other tables and they had a line forming at the door with people that wanted to be seated. For over $45 it was totally not worth, it. As we were leaving the waiter told us the original restaurant was in Spain, I said thanks for telling me, I will be sure not to go.

Stopped in for a relatively late night dinner (9pm) at this new Italian chain from Spain (interesting, right?) addition to the Seneca Meadows Plaza, where the new Wegman's in Germantown is located. Wasn't very crowded but I bellied up to the bar where the very pleasant, informative and helpful "Sam" (Samantha) said they'd just gotten through the evening rush and it was their busiest yet. Jad, her associate behind the bar, was very friendly and helpful as well throughout the meal so two thumbs up to them for great service. The overall ambience of the place is nice, but nothing to write home about. Sort of strip plaza, plain Jane with an Italian feel (although if it weren't for the big Pizza oven and the pictures/art on the wall which you have to look closely at to see that they're Italian) you might think you were at any new American or even Irish bar/restaurant. Big dark wood tables with no decorations in the bar area and around the open space restaurant. Relatively bright lighting but not over the top. Couple of big monitors behind the bar, which apparently will open to the outside once the weather gets good so you can sit and be served on either side, inside or outside. Couldn't quite place the category of music that was playing, seemed like adult contemporary/light rock which seemed like an unusual choice to me. The menu has a nice selection of Salads and Apps, Pastas, Pizzas and other Italian entrees so it seems like there's something for everyone. On the pasta side it's slightly educational too, as there are images of the different types of Pastas they serve (and again Sam was very help in further explaining the difference between the two I was looking at, as the pictures can't tell you everything). I started with a 'Half' Caesar which when it showed up, I had to double check that it was just a half. Sam confirmed it was (and that the full size was really entrée size). It came with fresh shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, good crunchy croutons, anchovies (which Sam seemed nervous to tell me these were included, so I let her know I really liked them, and it was all good) and some sort of roasted or marinated tomatoes which I don't recall having on Caesar salad before, but were really flavorful and made a nice addition. I'm used to Caesar salad being made with Romaine lettuce, but this was mixed greens which was different and interesting. The biggest disappointment was the dressing itself. Didn't have a lot of flavor and was relatively thin or watery. But with the tomatoes, anchovies and mixed greens, it was okay. Just not the best Caesar I'd ever had. With the salad came a basket of hot rolls which were delicious. Sam brought out Pizza Olive Oil (I could have the Pizza descriptor wrong) which she said had red pepper and garlic in it so was somewhat spicy. Again, not a problem for me, I like spicy. While the oil did have somewhat of a kick, it was missing some overall flavor, so I added a some freshly ground salt which helped a lot (salt grinder=nice touch). Grated parmesan was also available, so that may have been another way to go, but I stuck with the salt and ended up finishing off the entire basket. :-) For a main course, I went with the fresh Taglierine (you can choose Fresh or Dried pasta, but it's an Italian restaurant, why would I go with dried if there's a choice?). The interesting part of the concept here is that you can mix and match Pastas with the variety of sauces they offer (there are 4 main categories with a number of options inside each one). From the Olive Oil category, I went with the Garlic Shrimp with red Chili Peppers (another note from Sam that this was spicy and she was correct and again, and that's a good thing for me. :-). The pasta was a very generous portion, obviously fresh and perfectly cooked and the olive oil sauce came with very thin slices of fresh garlic and red pepper flakes with one or two whole red peppers mixed in. I broke into a slight sweat from the spice while eating, which I love, so no warning needed and I'd definitely order it again. Hard to tell if the shrimp were fresh or frozen, but either way they were cooked just right and provided a nice protein complement to the fresh Pasta. As I'd eaten the entire basket of rolls and all the pasta, I passed on dessert but looked at the menu which had a nice selection of Italian specialties, each one coming with a description and small picture (which seemed a little odd to me). Dessert=Next visit. Bottom line here is the food is pretty good (biggest disappointment was the Caesar salad dressing itself), service was great (Sam and Jad deserve kudos for their hospitality) and the ambience okay. My recommendation to add to the ambience would be to dim the lights a bit, put something on the tables so they don't look so bare, and change the adult contemporary/light rock music to something more Italian. I will definitely be back to try La Tagliatella again.

Regretfully, they've closed their doors for good! Friendly service, great happy hour, very good food, warm atmosphere. Too bad that restaurant critic, Tom S., put a bad mark on this great neighborhood place. Tom doesn't know a great flatbread pie from nothing. We'll miss you, the food, the people. Hope you all land on your feet. Will be hard to replace you.

Wasn't really a fan of the food. I ordered the tagliatelle with chicken and mushroom truffle sauce. First the pasta was dry, so I sent it back to get cooked with a bit more sauce. When it came back the sauce was really salty and I couldn't really finish it and had to take it home. The rest of my family were pretty underwhelmed with their meals as well. Not sure we'll return.

Ordered carryout from La Tagliatella.. ordered a pizza and pasta dish to share with the hubby. Right after he left to pick up the order, the hostess from the restaurant called and said the pizza was no longer available?? Didn't offer choices or anything.. I called the husband and he was upset since he just pulled in and now had to re-order another pizza, sit, and wait. Well turns out, they did have the pizza when he arrived? ODD! Not sure what the phone call was about then. However, the pasta dish was sad for carryout. Paid $15 and there was 2 scoops of it. Ended up still be hungry! :-( The food is too expensive for what you get. I do like to visit on the weekend for the happy hour menu. Much better pricing!

First visit. New restaurant. I expect this rating will increase but want to give honest first impressions... Service was good. The rolls were hot and delicious, the olive oil was flavorful. I know it has garlic and herbs in the bottle with it, but I would have appreciated something sprinkled in the dish (pepper, cheese, herbs, etc.) The pizzas were good. Great flavor of sauce & cheese. The bottom of the crust was cooked well the top was undercooked. Very pale and not crispy. Tried a side of asparagus which was cooked perfect but the ends were tough and chewy (should have been broken off, trimmed or shaved). Other than that they were excellent...I just didn't eat the last inch of each of them. The calzone was sort of disappointing. The flavor of the middle was good. It had fried eggplant and various cheeses inside. Much like the pizza the top of the calzone was pale and undercooked. The bottom and inside was cooked,so I'm not sure if this is their style or they are still working out the kinks with the oven. The calzone had some thin sliced Italian meat/ham on top that was too tough to be chewed. There was a thick crust curl around the outside of the calzone (undercooked) and when it came down to it the middle of the calzone that was edible, it was pretty small for the $15 it cost. The cheese on top and inside was excellent. All in all, I'm used to a traditional calzone being a stuffed Goliath that you can only attempt to finish on your hungriest day. The calzone came with some spring mix lettuce with no dressing. It looked pretty but didn't add much to the dish. Beer selection was nice. I got a DC Brau on draught. It's the first time I've seen it on draught. All that said, I will definitely come back. The restaurant looks very nice inside, has attentive management, and I know they are still working out the kinks as it is new. The pasta options look excellent. You can choose from a wide array of stuffed, fresh and dried pastas, and then look to a wide array of sauce options. Tagliatella isn't the mom and pop Italian restaurant I was hoping would open up, but it's not a bad addition to Germantown. All entrees seem to be int he $15-$20 price range. The wi-fi and AC power plugs are a nice plus! Makes me feel welcome to camp here and catch up on work while enjoying a long lunch.

Let me preface this by saying that I lived in New Jersey (Italian food Mecca) for several years, and I am part-Sicilian, so I'm pretty picky about quality. I tried the blackberry sangria (pretty good, not very strong), and shared meatballs as appetizers. I like the fact that so much of the menu is customizable, including what sauce is served on the meatballs. They were just kinda okay. No grandma-level meatballs tonight. My mom and I each decided on a customizable pasta dish. I must say that for the price of proteins, not a lot is given. it was actually surprising. The sauces were... ok. No vibrant and fresh flavors, and I saw this as a missed opportunity to shine. All in all, I think the concept of this place is cool. it's beautiful inside, the service is good, and menu looks great. it's the actual execution of food quality that I take issue with, and again that may be because I'm comparing it to some amazing experiences. I would come here again to try the happy hour; the dinner did not seem to justify the cost.

Had this the other day and was skeptical due to the low reviews. this place exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing. I had the Caesar Salad (the dressing was rather strange) and one of the pastas with sausage. Absolutely delicious. The service was great too. I just feel that this place is inconsistent the quality of service. This time was great for me. Maybe next time won't be, but I hoping for great quality everytime!

Lunch was good, not great. If you haven't been to a Tagliatella's before it is in a similar price range as Carrabbas. For those unfamiliar with Carrabbas it is slightly nicer/more expensive than Olive Garden. For those of you that have never been to an Olive Garden, stop playing 2048 and go outside! I got a pasta dish there which was set up different than other Italian restaurants I have been to. They did not have preset dishes, but instead allowed you to pick one pasta, one sauce, and (if you want) one meat. I got the bacon and goat cheese ravioli (can't remember the name) with a cream sauce. Pretty good, but nothing to write home about and it was a little small. My coworker got a salad which was huge and looked delicious. My other coworker got Tagliatella's signature pizza, which wasn't great. The pizza is thin crusted and had very little flavor except when you got a bite with the balsamic reduction sauce which was overwhelmingly sweet. I probably wouldn't order a pizza here. The rest of the menu looked good, so I am guessing there are a few really good dishes here, some good dishes (pastas, salads), and then the pizza which is bad. I would go to this place again, but it will not receive the honor of being adding to our lunch rotation. Side note: If you are trying to create a chain of restaurants as it appears La Tagliatella is, get a better name. If you want this to be a household name create something people can pronounce or spell. I drove by this restaurant and then tried to search for the menu and couldn't find it because I had no idea the spelling.

La Tagliatella has some great thin crust pizza! This place has opened up fairly recently and offers a pretty wide selection of Italian food items. I recently came in for a Yelp event, sadly I didn't try much other than the pizza and a few brunch items, but the plates leaving the kitchen looked wonderful. Now this isn't your normal NY style pizza, if you are looking for large slices full of cheese and dripping grease, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a thin crust oven fired pizza topped with the likes of goat cheese, truffle oil or spec, then head on over! I hear they are working on launching a "build your own pizza" party idea where small groups can get in and flex their inner chef. I love this idea and I would certainly sign myself up! The décor in the dining room is beautiful and I really can't stop raving about the electrical outlets in the floor and tables. Talk about convenient when you are trying to Yelp on a dying battery!

We came in to La Tagliatella last night for dinner. We got in around 6 and the place was pretty empty. It seemed to pick up as the night went on. Atmosphere: The restaurant is one of a small chain and has an air of Renaissance architecture and lighting. Seating was comfortable and adequate. There were plenty of booths and room for large groups. Service: There seemed to be some confusion as to who our server would be...first of all it took a while for anyone to come to the table. When one waiter finally did and started talking us through the menu, another showed up with a round of waters, insisting this was his table. Throughout the evening the waiter was very friendly, don't get me wrong, but it seemed like he was not only new to La Tagliatella, but new to wait service in general. They seriously need to address the training because it seemed like he just wasn't adequately prepared. We also noticed that servers were not only taking orders and running food, but also busing tables. Drinks: The beverages were a huge point of frustration among our party. Our server seemed to have NO idea about any of the beer or wine they sold. I had to tell him my wine selection twice and then he came back to the table and asked what it was a third time. He brought it to the table in one of those tiny carafes and then proceeded to hold it over my husband's lap and pour and then reached across him to hand it to me. Same goes with refilling water glasses. Our server never came to our table to top off our waters or ask if we wanted another round of drinks, but I saw him pouring water from a pitcher straight into cups resting on nearby tables. This just seemed like a spilled drink waiting to happen. They had about 4 beers on tap. When we asked our waiter about the selection he replied, "DC Brau is the local one," but didn't mention a single other beer. When hubby asked which DC Brau, the server had no idea what he was talking about. After a quick trip to the bar to see the taps, my dad and husband got a Peroni and a DC Brau, respectively. My mom never got the soda she ordered. We weren't charged for it, but still a VERY rookie mistake. Food: The food was definitely the saving grace of the restaurant. My mom got the Chicken Formaggi and really liked it, Dad got the Tortellone with Spicy Napoletano which was delicious, I got the Chicken Bruschetta Ciabatta and hubby got Chicken Pesto Ciabatta. My sandwich was quite good. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Prices: Prices seemed reasonable. For a group of four (three of us got drinks) we left with a $70 bill. We gave the server two credit cards at the end of the night and asked him to just split the bill 50/50. This has never been a problem when paying at a restaurant before, but it seemed to be a curve ball for our waiter. I have never been a waitress of any kind, but there are things you notice as a patron...There is a certain amount of up-selling you need to do as a server. That includes knowing the menu and knowing the beverage menu, especially considering how small it is. You know, pick a favorite entree and SELL IT when a customer asks what you like. Ask if customers want a side salad to go with their entrees. Know the beers on draft. Know how to split a check among two credit cards. When we walked out the door we learned that the place is extremely short-staffed and has only been open for about a month and a half. Overall, they have a lot of polishing to do in terms of wait-service, but the food was decent. Bottom line: we probably won't go back. Another small, independently owned Italian restaurant with a fantastic selection of brews and a cozier atmosphere is right around the corner and is much better.

[Mother's Day Occasion] I took a lot of thought in posting this review. And it's a solid 3.0 stars, no more.. no less. Maybe 2.9 if we're splitting hairs but they're not as bad as a 2.5 but barely meeting 3.0 SERVICE: subpar 3 stars at best Reasons: - ordered 1 bellini and 1 mimosa, first mistake : was given 2 bellinis - NEVER ONCE came over to my mom and I's table to refill our water, not once - So upon ordering the mushroom and shrimp risotto ... I'm sure she meant well, but our server Amber C told my mom and I: " I wouldn't order that if I were you. It's really overly salty and not good" My mom asked what she recommended. She said basically everything else.. " our pastas are pretty good, the other risotto is pretty good, the pizza is good.." But this makes me question the integrity of the restaurant, and the training of their staff. If that one item isn't good, it makes me question the chef's entire menu. And.. since when does the service industry tell you (the consumer) that what they are selling is NOT GOOD? Just doesn't bring a good vibe to the table or restaurant. Big no-no. This is how I see it. If it's not good, then you're supposed to tell your manager, or the chef. If it's not good, it shouldn't be on the menu. You shouldn't have anything on your menu that you wouldn't feel proud selling. So if that's the case, you report it to your higher-ups.. not the customer. Who in my case, I won't be returning to this establishment for this reason, among others. But like I said.. when you tell me it's not good.. I'm going to assume your whole entire menu is also NOT GOOD. FOOD: 3 stars at best for value and quality $18.50 for gnocchi with parmagianno, truffle oil and fried egg - gnocchi was okay, I give that a 3, 3.5. A little chewy for my taste. The sauce was a bit overly salty, and nothing warranted the price tag $17 tagliatelle pasta with chicken, pancetta, carmelized onions (tomato based sauce). The tagliatelle pasta itself was good. The chicken was okay, a little dry and two small pieces. There wasn't much in the building of flavors/layering flavors..which is important to me in all food especially pasta. No marrying of flavors into the pasta or anything like that. My inner foodie should have stopped myself when I found out it was a chain.. but I wanted to give them a shot. Well. Shots fired and done.

Loved it ! So glad my friend recommended this place. It exceeded expectations. It was quiet as we got there for an early dinner. The pork tenderloin dish (flagged at customer favorite) was AMAZING. The bloody mary was like none other. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I thought we would try this place despite the negative reviews. We were seated instantly and it was not busy at all. Instead of anyone taking our drink order, we watched a waitress clean a table next to us and after ten minutes of no one attending to us we left. Absolutely terrible service so I imagine the food is not any better!

We were pleasantly surprised as we walked into the clean, big, and bright restaurant. Almost too bright. It was a little strange, but we did not let that small detail cloud our judgement. We were seated in an isle next to the brick over, not that we could see it at all. Isn't that a detail that makes a fine Italian brick oven restaurant? I thought that was strange, but again--not really a basis to negatively judge. Next, our server comes we order water and a sangria. As he brings us our drinks, his hands were dripping wet, the glasses were dripping wet, and it's all over the table. I actually had to take the napkin out of the bread basket and use it to wipe up the table. (Has this place not heard of drink napkins?) It was very off-putting. Our bread basket was not too bad, a little hard, but edible. The bread smelled fresh, yet it was very hard on the outside. I think they must have reheated it, not sure. Come' on guys... that's restaurant 101 "guests should have a fresh bread basket!" Our server was a nice guy, clearly very green, but nice. Despite that, he did not check on us to ensure we were fine throughout the meal. At some point the manager came to check on us, but we both wondered if everything was OK, the server and manager seemed either tired, or disinterested in being there. It isn't my place to judge them personally, but it all added to our overall experience. I ordered Pasta Cabonara with fettuccine and Shrimp, and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Oh, my goodness... My pasta was made with spaghetti (not fettuccine as I asked) but I let it go as I did not mind either way, BUT there was 'very little' on my plate. So little, that I was shocked! It costs $17. But, the shrimp was fresh, and the sauce was very good. For that price I expected a LOT more. His Sangria was OK, but not great. His Chicken Parmesan was so sad looking. The breaded chicken cutlet was visibly dry and he is sure it was made from frozen. He said that the sauce was so-so. Really? Dang! I believe his was almost as expensive as mine. We are not cheap eaters, we are happy to pay well for good food, but this was just, "mehh." The $50 bill just did not justify what we got. No leftovers for my small plate, and his leftovers, are still in the fridge. We were was disappointed. Would we go back? Maybe, but if our food isn't super-great the 2nd time, than that would be the last time we would give them a chance.

Went on a Friday at 8pm. Place was empty. Waited a good ten minutes for the host to seat us. With no one in the place it was a total dissapointment. Our waiter didnt seem to know what he was doing and took forever to bring the basics of an italian chain. Olive oil had to be asked for yet they put the plate for it down on the table. Only 4 little piece of bread were served, which were of great quality but we wanted more of which we werent even asked. The food was not very good. The salmon was undercooked and was mutilated. Someone did not take very good care while cooking it. Looked like it fell apart and they dressed it up with basil and olive oil to cover up the mistake. Overall very disappointing. At the end it took 15 minutes(we actually started counting how long it took) to get the check. This place needs some serious attention from managment. Will not go back as Carrabas is right around the corner and is much better in the wait staff and food.

My family ate here this past weekend and typically I read reviews and don't write them but our experience was horrible!! We dine out frequently and I understand busy days, kitchen mishaps, bad day for the server but this service was down right appalling. The kids menu list a few items, typically kids food, and one option was meatballs and vegetables. The only vegetable available was broccoli and my son doesn't care for it so i asked to substitute the broccoli with pasta. I was told they don't normally do that but they would. The menu states 2 meatballs per meal. My eldest son ordered a cheese pizza, my husband a pasta dish with shrimp and the lobster bisque. I ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and the minestrone. The waitress disappeared for almost 10 minutes. We were hanging out so no big deal but another member of the staff brought our soups and the kids meals. The meal brought to my son was missing a meatball. My husband's soup was ice cold, I mean really cold. My soup and older son's pizza were fine. We waited for the waitress to appear to address the problem, mind you every question she had to run and ask the kitchen manager, she at this time told me if I wanted to add another meatball (they are about 1oz, so of course he would need another one) it would be an additional charge. I agreed because I did change the menu items but wish they would have asked in the beginning, I would have gladly agreed to the added cost to ensure my son received a proper meal. He placed his food to the side waiting for his additional food. It took 20 minutes to bring back the warmed up soup. My husband was able to finish his soup before the meatball came out, my son had already ate his meal because he couldn't wait any longer. After waiting almost 45 minutes our server comes out and asks, did you order shrimp on your pasta, we were dumbfounded at the thought she is now just putting in our order. As she walked away another member of the staff brought us our dishes sans shrimp. So we waited, and waited for our waitress....10 minutes later she said, I will bring out the shrimp shortly. My pasta was just noodles, red sauce, and shrimp so I didn't feel the need to eat the pasta without the shrimp. We both waited for an additional 10 minutes, at this point my pasta was dry, so when she dropped the shrimp off I asked if I could have some extra sauce. Once I received the sauce and shrimp the food was ok, not sure if it was because at this point I was starving!! The check comes and we were charged for the meatball, the shrimp, and $6 dollars for the sauce, that is outrageous. As the waitress was cleaning the table she dropped a spoon off the extra sauce and got the red sauce all over my husband. Needless to say....AVOID this place, the manager never addressed our issues, we sat smiling and patient and I feel we were robbed.

If I had known it was a chain, I would have known to skip. We arrived to a partially full restaurant and were seated three feet from the kitchen door and right next to another couple. I could live with that--half price wine helped. The food was just boring and poorly executed. The piccata sauce tasted reheated, which is ridiculous--it takes 5 min to make a scratch piccata sauce. Chicken tasted and looked microwaved. My husband liked his calzone, but the bite I had wasn't great. Too bad...I was hoping for a new decent dining choice in Germantown, but I guess we will keep driving to Rockville or eating in DC after work.

I stopped in for a light meal. The restaurant was practically empty and at least 3 servers on duty. I was dining alone and since there was no one else at the bar I would have thought the server would have engaged more in conversation. The lobster bisque was thin and had little flavor and practically no lobster pieces. I had to ask for bread because it came with nothing. Not even a cracker. I won't be returning.

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. But I was completely blown and now Im sick. So the hostesses were nice and sat us down in a nice booth. The place is very nice and cozy. I love the wood fire stove. The menu sucks. Its nothing but like a kindergarten menu. Im a visual person, I need pictures!! This menu is just words. No pics nothing. If Im paying for $15 for a pasta dish, I should see how it looks like. Upscale type of restaurant and all they can give you is a posterboard menu, just a front and back? Same with the wine menu? At least give the wine menu some love and stick in a leathery type cover, but then again maybe its too expensive, for that. I had to rely on Yelp pictures to see what I wanted. The sauces are not descriptive. A lot of Italian words yet, I ordered the Cabrese sauce and it was horrible. It was suppose to be creamy not!!! very watery. It was way to salty. My pancheta was yuck. It tasted weird almost old and only a few pieces just like the other reviewer wrote. . The cream sauce was weird. It didnt taste fresh. Im wondering now if it is really fresh because our food came out way too fast. Im think the food is prepped and sitting in the warmer. Now for this price, I was hoping to get a salad but no. All you get is pasta. My friends dish was bland too. The shrimp tasted old. The parmasean cheese..is not even offered by the servers you have to ask? Are you serious!!! This is a staple at all Italian restaurants!!! Why do I have to ask?!!! Why is my cheese just like at Wegmans?? I was expecting then to grating on to my dish just like at other places but no...they place it in like a sugar bowl with a spoon... Another disappointment! Im not very sure if I would not come back, because I can get a better bargain across the street at Agrodolce. Our server was very nice but Its very doubtful that I will return. They really have alot of improving to do. I have to go and get some R&R to recover from my disastrous meal.

I really wanted to love La Tagiatella. I love Italian food and wanted to find somewhere delicious and close to home. Moreso- they have a really amazing happy hour menu featuring awesome five dollar pizzas. When we first walked in we should have taken the lack of a host as a sign. No one came to seat us for a solid 6-7 minutes. The guy working at the pizza oven shouted to people in the back, but still we waited. After a second larger party came in behind us we were seated on the outdoor patio. The waitress brought our drinks and we ordered a lobster bisque to start. After we got the bisque (it was OK) she didn't return to see if wanted to order our food, which we were hoping to do before the soup ever came out. We ordered one of the happy hour special pizzas and two pasta dishes as well. The pizza was amazing! The thin crust and cheesyness was amazing. After a while (and zero drink refills) we were getting a little worried about the Pasta. Finally, the manager ran out, dropped them, and ran away. I had to shout to get his attention that the food was wrong. He was not apologetic, took my plate and ran away. When he came out with the same dish about five minutes later, he told me they were making chicken to put on it, dropped the now cold pasta and went back, never to be seen again. After my husband had eaten all of his pasta, I still had no chicken on my pasta, and the waitress had yet to come back. We had to go to the bar to get her attention. At that point she threw the chicken in a plastic container, said the manager took it off the menu, and left again. I am totally fine with mistakes being made on food, but it was really annoying that no one apologized and I didn't get to eat at all. By time the chicken came out, my pasta was completely cold, and, I wasn't going to sit there almost 15 minutes after my husband had finished eating. I was extremely disappointed.

Went there for lunch with my family. It was not busy only two to three other tables on a Sunday. Food was average. Service was slow and the waitress messed up two of the six orders....one of them was buttered noodles for a kid. That was really inexcusable. Without asking, a manager discretely finished serving the remainder of the meal. In such a competitive dining area, I don't know how they'll make. You can find Italian cuisine anywhere, so you better be great at it.

My husband and I ordered takeout from La Tagliatella. While they were quick with the order, we were not pleased with our food. I ordered a caprese salad, and it was very watery. I ended up throwing most of it away. We emailed the company, and we did not receive a response. Needless to say, we have not been back.

Like one of the previous reviewers had said, we really wanted to like this restaurant but unfortunately we're extremely disappointed! My in-laws took us there for my husband's birthday and what a disappointing birthday dinner. I ordered the ravioli which seemed like it was frozen and then barely cooked and my husband ordered the rigatoni which he said was gross. I tasted a bite and the the sauce was straight up nasty! My father-in-law order the veal which looked like a piece of leather and was also nasty as well. The server was trying to upsell us like crazy while we were still looking at the menu to order. Annoying and rude. I did like the glass of wine but that was it! Again very disappointed and will not return!

Went here for the first time this weekend. Despite the mediocre review, my wife and I decide to give it a try ourselves. Bottom line, our experience at the restaurant reinforces what some at Yelp mentioned. The good: The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy. Certainly something I would enjoy during a casual dinner date. Their menu offers a good selection. I had the Margherita pizza. I like the thin crust and overall flavor. The bad: When we walked in, there no one was at the hostess stand, but the hostess did walk over to the hostess stand after we waited about a minute. I'm not faulting anyone on this. What I'm faulting them is the next part is what happens after. When the hostess walked over to the stand, she fumble for something and then started to walk away. We are a party of four. You can't miss us. She only return and acknowledged us after you saw me stare at her as she started walking away. After we were seated and give our menu, we waited for our server to come greet us. No one came after waiting a few minutes. The table behind us, who were seated after us, was greeted by a server and was taking there drink order. We flagged down another server that happen to walk by and asked him if he know who are server was. He went to the hostess and a minute later our server arrived. No apologizes. She was ready to take our drink order but we told her that we were actually ready to order our meal as well. When my wife ordered the Veal Scaloppine which is server with your choice of one of four sauce. When my wife asked about how the Balsamico di Modena, Pepe Verde, and Reggio Emilia were made, our server responded by saying it is a brown sauce! To her credit, she did go back to the kitchen to find out for us. However, as far as I'm concerned, knowing the menu is part of the responsible of a server. As we were waiting for our food, my parents called. They were in the neighborhood shopping and wanted to join us for dinner. We asked our server if we can move to a larger table that seats six. The server asked me if I talked to the hostess about it. I wanted to replied back by saying 'no, that's your job.' However, I politely replied by saying 'no.' We were eventually moved to a larger table, however, it took longer than I have experienced in the past at other restaurants. Apparently, the restaurant manager had to be part of the decision-making process when it comes to moving customers from one table to another. I'm not a restaurateur, but this seems more involved then it should. The last negative experience I have is with the bill. We ordered and received two Ceesar salads. On the bill, we were being charged three. Our server did correct this immediately. Errors on bills will occasionally happen. That is understandable. However, having this happen along with all the other negative experiences during one meal says to me there is something 'wrong' with this restaurant. Overall, the food was good. However, the service and the overall management of the restaurant has to be reviewed by La Tagliatella. It's a new restaurant in the area, however, they'll been in operation for several months now - enough time to work out the kinks. They have to look at how they train their staff and perhaps stand back and look at the overall culture of the staff.

We drove out there last night for dinner. When we looked it up on Yelp, it said that they were open. We drove half an hour to find out that they were closed. There should be some way of letting customers know that they are closed.

I went there with friends, we all ordered pizza, it wasn't bad, not spectacular. 2 of my friends commented the next day that they had a second dinner when they got home because the pizza was so little and thin. I thought it was way overpriced for what it was. Also, our waiter was beyond rude. His accent was very very heavy and we had to ask him to repeat things a few times, he would roll his eyes or say "forget it". You could tell he wanted to leave and was rushing us along. Over all not a good experience at all. I wouldn't recommend it. I gave it two stars because the food wasnt awful. Just way overpriced. Also, I've heard other people also comment that they didn't like the food and it was overpriced.

Tonight we visited La Tagiatella for the second time. I didn't write a review for the first time because they had just opened, and they were getting their bearings. After reading all of the negative reviews, I can only assume that management read the reviews, then shaped up. Everything tonight was absolutely perfect. We were promptly seated, as we eat early. Our waitress (I'm bad with names, but I remember her name starting with an I (Irlanda?)), was on point, patient, and friendly. I had the delicious Calzone, and my Wife had butternut squash cuore with salame. Both were delicious. A few years ago we did a food tour in Parma, Italy, and the calzone that I had tonight was reminiscent of the trip. The parmesan reggiano and prosciutto were perfect. For those who hesitate to go here, especially because of the negative reviews, I'd suggest giving it a shot. I'd also recommend that the negative reviewers go back and give them a second chance

This review is a response to a promise made. My earlier review was somewhat critical of La Tagliatella in Germantown based on some service issues that just didn't sit right. But it just seemed fair to give the place another chance, which is what my wife and I did to see if we just hit a bad night on our earlier visit or there really was something wrong. Our visit tonight was excellent. We had a reservation (which I do recommend you do because this place is just hopping!) so we were seated quickly on our arrival. We had two glasses of excellent wine with the focaccia bread to start and whet our appetites. Interestingly, Reuben, our waiter, had come back to tell my wife that they were out of the Mezzacorona white wine, but offered her an equally flavorful white instead (I just don't remember the name, but my wife liked it and she is rather particular about her wines). When it came to the main course, my wife had the chicken piccata which came with asparagus and roasted potatos that she made disappear from her plate. I asked for a calzone, modified with pancetta, that was an incredible piece of work. It came out as this towering puff of tomatos and eggplant with a drizzle of balsamic and parmesan shavings. Incredibly tasty! Our desserts were wonderful, my wife having this chocolate parfait like concoction I couldn't pronounce but left her happy and swearing to go work out tomorrow morning. I had the coconut ice cream and hot chocolate coupled with a cappuccino that ended dinner marvelously. As to the service aspect, I will say here that our previous experience appears to have been a fluke. Reuben and the rest of the staff were very personable and took very good care of us. Moreover, throughout dinner I was watching the rest of the very busy restaurant and noticed the rest of the waitstaff paying continual attention to their tables, the hallmark of a good restaurant that understands service comes first. So I will state here for the record: La Tagliatella is a great place for a Saturday date night, family pizza night or just going out with friends. We will be visiting regularly. Thank you, Stacey Kane and Ashley.

Terrible! The food was nothing special and the service was terrible! No one even approached us for 10 min and we were one of four parties in the whole place. All servers were talking to each other and bartender ignored us while on the phone

Finally a decent restaurant in Germantown. The focaccia is great, definitely recommend it. My wife ordered calabrese pasta, I ordered carbonara. Both dishes were great. Highly recommend this place.

Having visited the Virginia location several months ago, I understand the concept, and visited this new branch with a few friends. Mussels were wonderful, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Some idiosyncrasies in the style of sauces and what is and is not available on the menu that were similar to Virginia and make it a tough sell for someone used to privately owned local Italian eateries. However, cheesecake was superb and our server Fernando I believe, more than made up for the food let down. Getting personal and friendly service is lacking in even the finest DC restaurants and getting a winning smile consistently is truly the exception not the rule. I will return to a mediocre restaurant for superb service, it is truly a treasure for this reason alone.

I think La Tagliatella has converted me - I am their #1 pizza fan - from the fruity brunch pizza to a variety of unique and add or take away toppings for the pizzas, I have fallen in love with the thin, crispy crust and fresh ingredients. I am a Papa John's girl no more!

Loved it ! So glad my friend recommended this place. It exceeded expectations. It was quiet as we got there for an early dinner. The pork tenderloin dish (flagged at customer favorite) was AMAZING. The bloody mary was like none other. Will definitely be back.

I've been here twice since they opened jus a fe weeks ago. The pizza can't be beat. It has a nice atmosphere and the brick oven adds to the warm cozy feel of the place.

Yummy in my tummy!...I recommend the Tagliatella pizza or the Garda!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
