Sometimes, it's not your own experience that makes a review, but someone else's. It was Friday night and we had just finished a lackluster dinner. To cheer up my husband, we headed over to this DQ. And no, I still don't like icy cold treats, I definitely do not like dairy based treats, and I still am not a huge fan of sweets. But regardless, we came into this DQ and there were 2 other customers here - and where the tale of woe began. Customer 1 looks like he had been there for a while, since in his hand was a plain vanilla ice cream in a cone, which had a wet sheen that made me think that he's been standing there for at least 5 minutes. On his face was a look of passive frustration. Customer 2 was a group of teens who looked like they were trying to buy a cake for their mom. Kinda sweet. They were clearly conflicted as to what to get, milling around the cake display and kept calling out questions to the staff, who would (after being prodded several times), answer lackluster monosyllables. We were the 3rd in line. Upon seeing us standing in line, an enterprising young lady opened up a new register to take our order. My husband orders some big complicated thing that involved a waffle bowl, ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and nuts. And probably several other things, but I really wasn't paying attention. I ordered a small ice cream with strawberry sauce, to keep my husband company. While our order was being made (rather efficiently, I might add), Customer 2 (the group of kids) finally decided on the cake they wanted. We all got our orders around the same time...when I looked to my side and noticed Customer 1 with vanilla ice cream dripping down his hand. At this point, another server asked Customer 1 if he's been helped (did she not notice the cone he's holding?), when he says "yes, I am waiting on my chocolate dip in a cone - but the girl that was helping me disappeared!" Being the nosy busy body that I am, I kindly asked him how long he's been waiting, and he answers that it must have been 15 minutes - which I will believe as the cone he's holding is definitely in the melting stage. His very pregnant wife was waiting in the car and had a craving for ice cream and being a wise man, he was trying to order 2 cones, one in vanilla, one in chocolate. The server that asked Customer 1 if he's been helped, goes in the back, finds the person that was helping him and she comes running out murmuring something about how she needs to make his cone on the side or it'll take too long. She hadn't even begun making it! She was also giggling like this was some cosmic joke. Customer 1, tired and frustrated (I'm still sitting there chatting with him - because I'm really one of those creepers that will talk to any random person as long as it looks like it'll provide entertainment), said fine - just hurry and get him his ice cream. A minute later, she brings out a cup with chocolate ice cream...and the cone on the side. HUH? How would this have taken too long to make?! But wait - THAT WASN'T THE GUY'S ORDER!!! He wanted a chocolate cone, dipped in chocolate sauce - this order had no chocolate sauce. So the server, again giggles, and proceeds to make his order all over from scratch. Now, I must say, if I was Customer 1, I would have called over the manager, ripped him/her a new one, and demanded a refund of my order - AND coupons for freebies. However, you could tell that Customer 1 was probably tired, trying to make his pregnant wife happy, and was basically defeated all around. Because this guy was so patient and so friendly, I was about to do the fussing for him, when our order was ready and my husband - who was desperate to dig into his waffle bowl - nudged me towards a table. I wished Customer 1 well. As I enjoyed my ice cream (it was dairy, cold and sweet...so yeah, I took 2 bites and was basically done with it), I kept an eye on the counter. My husband was almost done with his waffle bowl before Customer 1 finally got his order. Now, since my experience was *MUCH* better then Customer 1's, I'm not going to slam this DQ too hard. However, I am deducting 1 star because this shows a completely inconsistent service...and I could have easily gotten the server that Customer 1 got.

Fast service, good smoothies and ice cream. I've never had any issues and I've been going for a number of years.

OK, I have to admit that I've only been to Dairy Queen less than 5 times in my entire life. The last time I went was probably over 10 years ago, and I recall thinking that the ice cream had a funny taste. That's part of the reason I stopped going. Well, THAT and I'm lactose intolerant, though I gamble sometimes when it's warranted. TMI, I know. Sorry. Well, I'm happy to report that the funny tasting ice cream must have been at one particular location because THIS location had some tasty ice cream. I ordered the peanut butter blast (see pic) and didn't realize it was ginormous. Peanut butter and chocolate - How could that be bad? It was a daunting task, tackling that thing, but I'm happy to report that I finished all of it. It was SO good that I wanted one today. The staff was fast too. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and we got our stuff in no time. I'm almost sad I discovered how wrong I've been all these years because Dairy Queen will be yet another place I have to put out of my mind most of the time. Argh.

Pit stop... at the DQ. This location was okay but the staff had difficulty taking the order from the drive thru. I ended up going inside because I didn't want to back up the drive thru. Then they got it right!! Nice inside area and it looked pretty clean.

It's a Dairy Queen/Orange Julius combo. Service was decent, no real complaints. Not the best place to get ice cream, but it's close to home so it's nice to drop by every once in awhile. Plus they have a drive-thru, which is nifty.
