Caspian Kabob Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Not bad...I like the one in kentlands more than I like this one though. Being middle eastern I know not to expect the friendliest service at any kabob place, but the folks here are actually quite friendly. I love their kubideh and the rice is really good, but everything else is a bit dry or overcooked. For the best kabob you gotta make it at home...otherwise caspian isn't a bad option.

This place is awesome. I've been coming here since they were located in a trailer / mobile home, which I think was now over 12 years ago. This place has consistent quality which varies from really good to really really good. I typically order one of three things: 1. Chicken Kabob 2. Chicken Shish Kabob (same as above except 1 less piece of chicken but has green peppers and onions grilled with the meat) 3. Caspian Combo (1 skewer of the chicken and 1 skewer of the ground beef) All of these are awesome, I get #3 when I'm really hungry. There is one thing I will say for some reason when you reheat the chicken it tastes weird... not really much of an issue since I've rarely not finished what I order. Also just ONE time I ordered the beef kabob and it was REALLY bad, the worst I've ever had... DO NOT ORDER THAT. I'm not taking away any stars because the other stuff is awesome and good enough for me. Overall this place is awesome, and if you sit down or carry out with the kabob dishes you get a piece of bread and some of the thick yogurt sauce. The food here is really simple and what you would expect from a persian kabob place. Nothing extra fancy. Just really solid food, every time.

The food is great. I like their ground chicken with salad instead of rice. Full of flavor and friendly people. Only thing that isn't too great is the "interaction with customers". I always went by myself during lunch and finally took 3-4 friends the next time. I ran out of the white sauce and asked him for more and he said it was an extra $1.75 (it doesn't cost more than 50 cents anywhere else). I said no thanks and have stopped going as much. Great food though.

Not a bad kabob place. I'm not a fan of its location. However, it's reminiscing of Moby Dicks only Moby is more affordable. But this place isn't that bad.

I've been here many times but mostly for carry out. The food is very good, no complaints there. My favorite dish is the chicken with grilled veggies and rice which you cannot get at Moby Dick. The two times I ate in, the service was good. Don't come here looking for ambience though. Just a plain Jane kabob joint. I will say that I think it's a bit overpriced. Some of the meals run upwards of $18.99 which can be a bit much especially for lunch. There are many times I've thought about coming here but decided to go with a $7 chicken dinner somewhere else instead.

I was REALLY disappointed with dinner tonight. The beef shish kabobs were bland city! Actually so were the rice, yogurt sauce, and pita. I don't know, maybe the kitchen has changed something since my last visit but I would've been better off grabbing Pizza Hut while I was at the nearby Target. At least the beef wasn't tough. Even the baklava tasted previously frozen. I know because my mom loves to freeze stuff and then tell you it's "fresh" six months later. Good news is the staff is still friendly.

This is a friendly place and their customer service is good. The most important thing in restaurant is quality and the quality of their food is the best.I love this place and I strongly recommend this place to everybody.

Things you should know: I LOVE KABOBS. Specifically, I love well seasoned/ spiced kabobs. I tend to lean towards spicier types like the Afghan/Pakistan kabobs. Don't get me wrong, I will eat all good kabobs, just prefer the bolder spiced versions like Ravi of NoVa or Maiwand of the Baltimore area. Moby Dick's is sort of the standard barer for Persian Kabobs style in the area and they are great for that. I was longing for a more spicy kubideh in the Rockville/G'burg area and haven't found one until I finally tried Caspian in Germantown! I was a bit hesitant about trying them since there was some not great reviews recently, but I bit the bullet and glad I did. I took the Yelpers advice and ordered the Kubideh Spicy, and huzzah! Well spiced, moist, delicious! I may have just found kabob place in the area. I also ordered a side of the ground chicken kabob to try and it was good, but the Kubideh was great. I also appreciated the generous portion so bonus for that. Their rice could use a bit of salt and butter, and the bread was a bit thin for my taste, I prefer a bit thicker softer style, but that's just me. Also I wish they put my side orders of extra grilled tom and onion in a separate container, but they did put in a small sumac packet in there so that's nice. My hubs really liked their Gyro as well. While there's definitely room for improvement, I look forward to going back and trying other things, but I will definitely be back for more Kubideh! I'm not sure if this Caspian in Germantown is in anyway connected to the Caspian in Gaithersburg. Neither website mentioned it, but I will try that as well sometime for comparison.

One star is two too many! Had the beef shishkabob for lunch today. Half way through, I realized it tasted weird. (Didn't realize at first because I was dipping it in the yogurt sauce.). Then I smelled the meat by itself... It smelled spoiled... Very spoiled! I notified the manager, and instead of doing anything, he just said the meat was fresh and walked away. Needless to say, I didn't finish. (Actually, I can often eat food that would bother other people, so this was pretty extreme.) Maybe just coincidence, but I noticed another empty table with two plates of only half-eaten dishes as I left. I wonder if they had similar issues and heard me talking with the manager... Realizing how pointless it was to raise their concerns to the manager, they simply left without finishing. Though I have a very strong constitution, it is three hours later and I'm now feeling sick. Fortunately, it was beef so food poisoning is unlikely, but I'm not real happy to be sick from a $12 fast-food meal! Recommendation: Stay far away from this place!! (If the owner reads this, you need to fire, or seriously retrain, your staff!)

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Ordered two filet mignon/chicken kabob combos to go ($17.99/each). When I got home, the rice and meat were CLEARLY NOT prepared the same day. The rice was stale and the meat was dry. I called multiple times to complain and for some reason they would not pick up their phone! I will NEVER go here again, will NOT recommend this restaurant anymore to any of my family, friends, peers, etc.! Total waste of my money and time... There are a few great kabob restaurants in the DC area, Caspian is not one of them...

Fresh naan AND good service? What?! Yeah, you heard right. My coworkers and I grabbed some lunch from here and I've gotta say, I understand why people like them so much. The price points around about the same as other kabob/middle eastern joints and chains, however the kabobs really tasted SO much better. I ordered the kubideh and I do believe it's the best I've had so far. Well seasoned and juicy, not dry and overcooked (side eye to you chains) just as it's supposed to be! I'm not a fan of tomatoes so I always skip those, and I wasn't partial to the rice but the fresh naan put that smile on my face! The chicken was good as well, and not dry whatsoever which seems to be an issue at most places. I didn't try the baklava but it looked super tempting, so I know I'll be getting next time :) The place is clean and neat, if a bit small but I haven't seen it get overcrowded so far. As for the service, they're very attentive and polite. I dropped my knife and within a couple seconds the owner (I believe) was already bringing me new cutlery. Brownie points for that!

This place is a great go to for Mediterranean food. The owners are really nice too. The place isn't that big, but I have seen families pushing together the tables to make it better. First you walk in, and order the menu is pretty large. After you order and play, they usually give you your drink to fill up and sit at a table to wait. They also give pita and tzatziki sauce as an appetizer as you wait for your food. After you are done, you can leave the stuff on the table. My brother and I usually like to stack everything to be nice. I usually get the beef shish kabob. It comes with a grilled tomatoes and rice on the side. It is delicious. Everything is cooked to perfection, the beef is tender and juicy. I love it, I get it everytime we come here. The rice is buttery and moist, I usually put some maroon seasoning on it. I don't know what it ism but soooo good. I love coming here with my brother, it is like a no brainer, always delicious place to go. Never a bad idea to come here for good food, ever.

Decent food quality. Ordered Caspian combo for lunch. Chicken kabobs were a little dry. I don't think I had fragrant rice. Anyway, I had some stomach issues in the evening. Not sure, but suspect the lunch.

The food here was fantastic! I'm big on kabobs, so a couple of the guys at work told me I had to try it, and they weren't wrong! I loved the ground beef kabob and haven't had anything like it before. If you're about kabobs you have to come here!

I used to come here a while back and figured I'd make sure it was still around. Still the same great place, walk up order and greeted by an amiable Persian gentleman. Simple and to the point. I don't recall the prices being so high but was pleasantly surprised when my gyro was ready. Although, I couldn't eat the beast with my hands because it was so effing big. Might as well call it a gyro salad on a 12x12 bed of pita. Hot and well spiced lamb, fresh veggies, fresh feta, tangy tzatziki and warm fluffy pita... Delicious!

  • Bruno L.

I'm a fan of Caspian, food is pretty delicious and big rice portion (i love rice). I definitely recommend eating there but the reason i will not give 5 stars is because it's a little expensive ... $14 for the food and $3 for a soda??? i recommend the chicken soltani, both the ground chicken kabob and the chicken breast kabob were really tasty

    (4)
  • Agnieszka S.

Food is always good and they always cater when I have people over for dinner. The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is the actual look of the restaurant, it has a fast food feel and not a place where you would go to enjoy your dinner with your date. That's the reason I always get the food to go.

    (4)
  • Jorge R.

I've been coming here since 2002 and it's always been consistently good! I like the fact that you can ask for the kabobs spicy and they really are spicy! I have had Moby Dicks but this place is truly the better of the two.

  • Erika S.

I stopped in here on a whim, searching for something a little different. I ordered my plate to go, and my stomach was growling as I saw this huge platter being brought out to someone who had time to sit and enjoy this food. The drive to work was torture, knowing right next to me in this container next to me was something delicious. I sat down at my desk, and wow. The amount of rice and size of the chicken was amazing, everything flavorful, and fresh naan too! I can't stop eating it, but will definitely have leftovers for dinner, not bad for the price, and not a long wait. Definitely will come back.

  • Sandy F.

Okay, maybe their kabobs are fine, but the Gyro, worse I've ever ever had. Brown old lettuce, the meat was stale, hard, and dry. Definitely not edible. Yogurt sauce super runny. Threw my whole plate away, and my husband who eats anything, could not eat this. Waste of money!

  • Mike M.

While the serves was good, the lamb chops I ordered had a taste of mutton or the lamb had started going bad. In addition, the rice had some really weird seasoning. It almost tasted like dirty dish water. The first clue the family and I had was an empty parking lot during prime dinner time frame.

  • Solace C.

This place mos def better than Mobys. One, they arent a chain, its family owned... mom and pop type of thing... I always get fresh bread.. right out the oven. I love the rice, and how the meat is tender and well seasoned. The hummus is soo yummy...Need I say more?

  • Kehvin N.

Overpriced and not that great. Wouldn't eat here again. The manager/owner is real snobby. I don't know about their other locations, but he has turned me off from their food entirely. Ordered a chicken and a regular gyro. They ended up putting both meat in the same gyro and charged me $18.50, I was already home by the time I noticed, and the jerk of a boss wouldn't at least try to rectify the matter when I went back. Either wouldn't want to eat their overpriced mess if you paid me to.

I have been a regular fan of this place for years, although as an excuse I do live right behind the CVS next to it (and have to live with the enticing smell wafting over!) The only reason its not a 5, as others have commented, is the décor (uncomfortable table-chairs or worn-out booths), but the food is always great. (I once gave them a $20 tip, if that says anything.) The staff is super-nice and attentive, the food consistently terrific, and the portions large for the price. I've had almost everything here; imo the kubideh (or filet mignon/soltani) is the best kabob, and I love that you can order the side of 'half salad, half (saffron) rice' instead of a full plate of either. Also, the balsamic vinegar dressing is excellent; I get a second cup on the side to pour over everything (instead of the yogurt sauce.) The hummus is amazing, smooth and garlicky, and the bread is cooked in a tandoor (clay oven) right in front of you, although they have a tendency to burn it. The baklava is probably store-bought, but is still decent; the rice pudding recipe is not the usual creamy type, more like custard, I don't care for it, just personal preference. For dinner, I always have leftovers for lunch the next day, and if you want something really special, try the lamb chops or one of the daily Persian specials. Oh, and if your blood sugar can handle it, the fresh squeezed OJ is the best beverage option; the iced tea is watery, and I don't care for carbonated soft drinks or Montgomery tap water.

Three and a half stars for the best kubideh kabob I've had: flavorful and moist, its texture avoids the dense and mealy failures I've tasted elsewhere. Joojeh kabob was tastier than its chicken breast counterpart, but the latter wasn't overly dry despite arriving with aggressively grilled tomato halves. Salad included sliced tomato, grated carrot, and cucumbers, with raw onions and balsamic provided separately. Grilled vegetables were fine, cooked a bit too soft for me. Rice is about 1:4 saffron to plain, with just enough butter to coat the grains. Most interesting was the kashk-e-bademjan, which had fruity notes blended into the fried eggplant puree, balanced by a healthy drizzle of kashk and a faint hint of garlic... not sure I'd run back to that dish on the regular, but definitely appreciated the opportunity to try something different.

  • Ronnie M.

Pretty good kabob I used to get the chicken but it is kind of bland. I now get the kubideh and it is delicious. The bread is not very thick and never seems fresh. But the men that work at the cashier are super nice and even though I have only been there about 10 times he knows my order. I would inform you to ask to get everything spicy because it gives everything a little more flavor. Never a long wait usually only 10 minutes, which is worth it for fresh meat.

  • Steve T.

It was good food, but the prices seem kinda off. I'm not living paycheck-to-paycheck, but spending double digit dollars for lunch is usually reserved for nicer sit-down restaurants. The place has a cafeteria feel to it. It's not the nicest fanciest environment, but the staff was pleasant and the place was very clean. I had the chicken kabob meal, which had perfectly cooked, juicy pieces of white meat chicken. It comes with a lot of rice, and a cooked tomato. Doesn't sound like an $11 meal though.

4.5 stars. How have I not reviewed this place yet!? I have been coming here for years! I guess I just thought I'd already reviewed it, but then I saw Ruth C.'s review and realized I hadn't yet. Anyway, on to the review! If you hadn't noticed already, I love this place. It's family-owned, I think, because the same people are there all the time, and they are so, so nice. I have had several things on the menu, but my favorites are the chicken kabob (#2) and the grilled veggie with chicken (#16). The chicken here is so tender, and the rice is buttery and delicious. With the added grilled vegetables, the dish gets even more flavor. The pita and yogurt sauce are also wonderful here, and I love the grilled tomato. This place beats Moby Dick by miles!

As a patron of this restaurant for the past few years, there's only one thing to say: Caspian is going DOWN HILL and fast. The rice was dry. The 'filet' was so overcooked that it compared to chewing on a leather belt or jerky. The yogurt (as always) was sour. The chicken was also quite dry and smaller than before. The bread that came with the meal was certainly not fresh. It was very dry and was hard to eat. I ended up putting the bread where Caspian chose not to put it: the trash. The only redeeming part was the kubideh which has always been good. This kabob restaurant has no value. This will be our last visit.

2 stars = I've had better. The chicken kabobs are good. The hummis is good. The rice and grilled veggies are about what you would expect. This is the kabob joint that is closest to my house and have ordered takeout from here 3 times recently. Two of the past three times they messed up the order. The first, we ordered and paid over the phone for a chicken kabob dish and a combo filet and chicken kabob. When I got home, I realized they gave us two chicken kabobs... The filet/chicken combo is double the price of a normal chicken kabob so I was a bit irritated. The other time we ordered the same as before, filet/chicken combo and then a chicken and I ended up with what looked like a skirt steak instead of filet. It was thin and tough. The tzatziki sauce is watered down and the pita bread is always stale. Always--they heat it up so it seems fresh when you pick it up but by the time you get home, it is hard and dry and cracks apart. The quality is just not there for this place. I will start driving a little further to go to Johnny Kabob or Moby Dick.

The food here is fresh, made to order, and very good. I particularly like their falafal which is a large amount of food for $8. If you really have been a long time customer or remember the old days when they operated in a concrete bunker near the cider barrel and trailer park, then you want to go to "Caspian House Of Kabob" in the Kentlands. Go in there and you'll recognize the same old couple that served you great food in Germantown years ago. I still think their food has more flavor and the service is friendly. Either is good. Just don't think they're both the same. I think they had a falling out and one partner got the Germantown location and the other got the Gaithersburg spot. I know the folks preparing my food in Gaithersburg now are the same ones I ordered from and had deliver my food back in the late 90s, so give it a try and you may find something familiar you've been missing!

This is one of our semi-regular lunch spots for the office. It's not very big and the seating is very basic and it's not overly cheap ($9 - $12 or so) but the food is excellent and well-proportioned and the staff is quick and friendly. I usually get the gyro and it's sooooo good. I'm actually making myself hungry for one as I think about it writing this review. It's huge. There's also chicken gyros, kubideh and chicken kabobs, etc, and I've never had anything that I didn't like. Quality ingredients and good cooking. Not sure why I never thought to write a review for them before. We've been there dozens of times and it's always consistently good food. Really the only reason I don't give them 5-stars is that it's not trying to be a 5-star place. The interior is very basic, but clean and cozy. Note that when you order, you get a tray and go sit down and the food will be brought to your table. There's no wait-service (at least that I've seen for lunch), just food delivery. When you're done just leave it at the table as they do have a busser.

Nom Nom Nom! I stopped in on a last minute decision and I'm glad I did - so yummy! I could literally sit and eat here until my tummy pops! I had the beef shish kabob with rice and it was seriously tasty! Loved the grilled tomato!

  • Assmaa E.

Seiously- the BEST kubideh in MD! so soft and light- not dense and compacted like you can eat sometimes. Love their rice as well. AMAZING falafel- seriously I go there just for the kubideh and falafel dishes! So YUM!!!

    (5)
  • Chad C.

We had the lamb shashlik and agreed it was the best lamb we have had in years. Kubideh was nearly as delicious. Fresh salad and good quality rice. Pita is a little underwhelming but forgivable given how fantastic everything else was.

  • Curriedrice E.

Good food, basic decor and somewhat confusing service. The food as far as I can tell is mainly Persian/Iranian the rice dishes really shine here. We ordered - The ground lamb and chicken over rice - excellent, it was juicy, delicious and the portion was definitely generous. I had the special of the day - grilled fish over rice cooked with vegetables and herbs. This was a nice balance of flavors, I felt the fish was a bit salty, but excellent overall. I wouldn't recommend this if you are looking at a $5-6 lunch. This is definitely quality food and might be worth a splurge. Overall go for the food!

  • Lanth Y.

I had the lamb combo, one of the pricier entrees. Not impressed. The rice was dry, the meat quite chewy, and the portion size relatively small.

The food is always Delicately flavored, carefully crafted. I love the gyros and ground chicken. The service is impeccable. The restaurant is super clean. We've been picking up food here at least once a week for many, many years. A little gem in our neighborhood. Highly recommended.

    (5)
  • R B.

The food is consistently good - delicate flavors, perfectly moist. I usual get the gyro and ground chicken with rice but the last time, got their rice with vegetables - and that was amazing as well. Do try the green chilling condiment.

One if the best gyros I've ever had. Looking forward to trying other things on their menu. Very nice group of guys that work there. I'm considering trying to become a 'regular at this place!

I've had various Kabobs and Gyros here and they've all been terrific. Portions and prices are reasonable. I definitely love their Gyro's. They have an awesome eggplant with olive oil appetizer you should try.

Went to Caspian Kabob and the food was delicious! I got the lamb kabob and my bf got the kubideh (or beef) kabob. Both dishes came laid out on an oval-ish plate with rice and grilled tomato. The grilled tomato was delicious since it had that grilled flavor and the rice was pretty good too. The portions were not skimpy at all. The lamb kabob had lots of flavor and there was just enough to fulfill my appetite. The beef kabob was great too and it kind of had a "sausage" texture to it. Also, they give you pita bread and cucumber sauce as a little appetizer too, which is cool and refreshing. Overall, I'd definitely come back again.

    (4)
  • Han S.

You don't get the best kabob and the best customer service here but I think it is still good. I of course had better kabob but in this area there are not too many options and this one I think is one of the good ones, in terms of quality and price. I even ordered kabob in large sum for my parties couple of time and everybody loved it. One of the things can be definitely improving is the quality and freshness of kabob and the quality of rice. I don't know what kind of rice they use but it is nothing comparable to persian standard rice.

  • Julie A.

Authentic!! Very friendly! I ordered the #20- chicken gyro. I look forward to stopping and trying the other menu items.

    (4)
  • Mark S.

Their kabobs are tasty and they have a selection of sides and drinks. My biggest issue is that it seems too expensive which is what I tend to think of most kabob places really. Unless you get kubideh (ground beef) your paying $11+ for a meal.

    (3)
  • Mike S.

Definitely coming here again, it was delicious. I stopped in Thursday for lunch and got the daily special - sabzi polo ba mahi. Salmon over long grain basmati. The salmon was excellent, flaky and well seasoned. The rice was tender and complimented the salmon well. As other reviews have said, the owner is friendly and the place is very clean. The atmosphere and decor is not sit-down quality, but the food is excellent for the price.

    (5)
  • Jennifer B.

The kubideh with rice is so delicious! HUGE portion, definitely more than Moby's but for the same price. The spicy ground chicken kabob is also very tasty and very moist--sometimes actually a little too moist. Love the green hot sauce---I mix it with their yogurt sauce and it is excellent! I love their stuffed grape leaves as well. Service is great and everyone there is super friendly!

  • Emma G.

We've been carrying out from Caspian Kabob for about 5 years. This place is our reference standard for kabobs in the area. Fresh, quality ingredients. Tasty marinades and spices. Fast kitchen creates very consistent dishes. Plain Jane atmosphere, but hey, we carryout.

  • Shahryar M.

I come here so often because the Kubideh Kabob beef is killer. I mean have eaten kabob beef in a lot of places and here its served with the perfect flavor and seasoning. Its really moist and fresh. I sub a salad in for rice with no tomotoes and you have an awesomen low carb meal. In fact, you can do that with anything on the menu, so add lamb, chicken, or steak. Plus the service is always friendly. The owner is a very kind man that always provides pleasent and courteous service.

  • Robert C.

Caspian Kabob serves the best Joojeh (ground beef kabob) I've ever had. The flavor and texture of it's just right!!! The Chicken Kabob's just decent; nothing special about it. The Goat Kabob (from New Zealand) has really strong smell. But if you love to eat goat meat, you'll like it. The Yogurt sauce's pretty good; 1 of the better ones that I've had. They cook really fast for a kabob restaurant; we got our food in about 5-7 minutes. The portion isn't bad & the price's about average for any kabob restaurants. They can alter the spiciness of the kabob - I highly recommend this. Also, don't forget to get the Joojeh!

We got the worst food and service ever. I wish they would keep their sitting area a little clean. Over all it was a bad experience.

  • U K.

Hands-down, the best Kubideh I've ever had (just make sure you ask them to make it spicy). I don't know if it has more to do with their preparation or the quality of the meat, but the beef is incredibly juicy and very flavorful. The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is that I can't really recall what any of their other dishes are like. While I remember enjoying the boneless chicken kabob quite a bit, I was so impressed by the Kubideh that I haven't ordered anything else in the past year and a half. The bread they serve with the kabobs is also quite good. Though I prefer to eat my kabob with Afghani/Pakistani-style naan, their pita is good in it's own right. Also worth trying is their eggplant-based appetizer/side, the Kashk-e-Bademjan, which is delicious. Aside from the quality of the food, Caspian is great in terms of value as well. $10 will take you a long way, as the portions are very generous (depending on how big an eater you are, one dish may be enough to feed two, and two meals will certainly be enough to feed three). As for the restaurant itself, the place is very simple, but very clean and new. Think fast-food, but much cleaner.

This place is right up there with Moby Dick in my book. I've had gyros here before - which were better than what I've had at Moby - but this time I opted for the chicken shish kebab. For $9.49 I got an enormous amount of food - enough for 2 meals. It was all delicious: the rice, the chicken, the bread. If you're out this way, and need a good meal, I definitely recommend finding Caspian.

    (5)
  • Adil B.

I've been coming to Caspian Kabob ever since the owner was operating out of a trailer. And, I've always ordered the Kubideh kabob because it's filling, economical, and well-made! The kubideh comes with rice (with a pat of butter on top), a grilled tomato, and a quarter of an onion (strong!).

Very good kabobs. Nice service. I love their rice. I have dined in and ordered take out, both experiences were good.

Still 4 stars... This time I ordered the Chicken Kabob but I asked them to make it spicy. It was definitely spicier, but I didn't enjoy the spiciness of the seasoning as much as I enjoyed the spiciness I got by adding their green "hot sauce" on top. I would definitely order it regular, ask for the green "hot sauce" and spice it up myself. I need to go back and try the Falafel, I wonder how it will taste....

I've been eating at Caspian since they were a hole in the wall (literally) practically across the street from their current location. All in all, I've been a fan for around 20 years. The food is still just as great as ever, the decor slightly improved, but still nothing spectacular, and still conveniently located. If you're tired of Moby Dick, and want something that's going to hit the spot, you can't go wrong with Caspian!

We used to go here often and the food was always delicious. The lamb kabobs are some of the best I have ever had and the kubideh is the best I have eaten anywhere on this continent. The flavors just explode and the meat melts in your mouth. The hummus is very creamy and loaded with garlic .. delicious. I really miss not having anything as good as this place here, in Seattle.

I love Caspian's - while the restaurant itself isn't exactly posh, it's clean and comfortable enough with plenty of seating. The food is excellent. My favorite is the ground chicken kabobs (chicken koobideh) with salad. My husband gets the same kabob but with rice, and the rice is to die for. I know there's some saffron in the rice, but I also think there's a substantial amount of butter in it as well - I've just never had rice like this before. The flatbread is made fresh and is delicious, and the mast-o khiyar (cucumber yogurt) is really tasty. As far as a value, for about $10 you get an insane amount of food that feeds 2 people (or 2 meals for 1 person hehe); the chicken koobideh meal has 2 huge chicken skewers, a large salad (or mass quantities of delicious rice), a full piece of flatbread and a generous container of mast-o khiyar. The only other meal I've tried there was the salmon kabob, and it was alright, but not nearly as good as the chicken (the salmon was farmed, and I'm not a huge fan of farmed salmon). They also give you a little container of sumac and some grilled tomatoes to round out the meal. Fantastic! And apparently this Caspian's in Germantown is no longer (or never was, not sure) affiliated with the Gaithersburg restaurant of the same name - I've eaten at the Gaithersburg location, and while it's good, I prefer the food at the Germantown location. In all seriousness, right now we're leaving to go pick up dinner - at Caspian's. :)

It's a keeper. I just wandered in here at random for lunch on the way back from some meetings. I had the falafel kabob. The bread was obviously just made - or perhaps just re-warmed - in their clay oven, it was still warm with that beautiful fresh-char aroma going on. The falafel, salad and accompaniments on top of the bread were all good also. Prices were reasonable, and service was friendly and efficient. A gem. I'll be back to try the kabobs ...

Although the Germantown location is no longer owned by the original owner, I still prefer it. Their marinades are delicious, their rice is spot on, and their yogurt sauce is out of this world (I like to eat it with a spoon). They are known for their kabobs, which you can order with rice, salad, or 1/2 rice and 1/2 salad (my favorite). I prefer the chicken, but all the kabobs have super tender high quality meat. They serve it with fresh baked flatbread and yogurt sauce. The food takes a while because they cook it after you order it, but to save some time we always call ahead and let them know we'll be eating in. They also have a location in Gaithersburg at the Kentlands.

Not a fan. I've had so much better. Kabob's were just ok. Grape leaves not so good. Pita bread was cold. They didn't have fresh veggies and feta cheese. The rice had no flavor. Overpriced for the quaility of food. Loved the music.

We get take out often. Restaurant itself has minimal ambience. Food is very good. Love the hummus and pita. I usually get the chicken kabob. Hubby loves the falafel. Good option for vegetarians. Happy family.
