This is my new FAVORITE restaurant in Gaithersburg! I've eaten here a few times and I've never been disappointed. I'm eating a shrimp salad right now and honestly, it's the best shrimp salad I have ever had! The owner grows fresh herbs on the deck which takes the food "over the top". They roast turkey for sandwiches, quesadillas and salads outside, just off the deck. I've had breakfast here which was very good and authentic. (Real eggs and cheese.) they even have stewed apples! The food is very reasonably priced. My breakfast, including coffee, was a little over $8. Watching the planes take off and land is an added bonus and pleasure! The deck overlooks the runways. I also enjoy listening to the pilots talking at other tables. I brought some visitors from out-of-town here for lunch and they were very impressed. I'm looking forward to one of the happy hours.

In the word of my son, "AIRPLANE!" A surprisingly high-quality dineresque joint. Highly recommend, well, anything on the menu. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, and there is a deck on the back that abuts the runway so you can nosh and watch the traffic. Very great, genuine, and family friendly joint.

This place really deserves two stars, however, the location is very good being that is right next to the airport and the patio overlooks the runway. The place is in desperate need of a makeover as the carpet is frayed and has turned black from dirt. The service was good however and the food came fast. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese sandwich and it was adequate. The patio seemed clean as opposed to the main dining room carpet. I hope management finds it in their budget to change that carpet, otherwise I will not be back.

Came out here on Saturday with my 4-year old nephew and his parents. We sat outside and watched the Cessnas take off and land. Food was yummy. I got the lamb gyro and it was satisfying, and also a crowd favorite. Everyone enjoyed their meal, it was a relaxing brunch, and if you have a young boy in your life who enjoys planes, this is definitely worth checking out.

Under new ownership since summer 2014. Our meals were delicious. We tried all three of the soups on offer--broccoli, Maryland crab, and chicken noodle. All were homemade and full of vegetables. We also split one of the signature burgers with pepper jack and bacon... It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We look forward to out next visit-- we ran out of room for the homemade strawberry shortcake!

Had a GREAT lunch there today. Great food, great friends, and great view watching the planes taking off and landing. I had the egg salad with crispy bacon. Mmmmm.

What a gem! The Airport Cafe is located inside the Montgomery Airpark in Gaithersburg. When you pull in, you just snag a spot and walk over to the main building. Upstairs (check out the cute little Cessnas painted on the wall by the staircase) situates the Airport Cafe, in which you can either dine-in or outside on their little patio to see the Cessnas taking off on the runway :D The menu offers simple breakfast and lunch fare, such as egg (any style) dishes, omelets, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas, subs, etc. I tried the Maryland Crab soup (tasted like minestrone with some bits of crab; this was okay); the Blueberry Pancakes (not as great as I thought it would be, as they weren't that fluffy and more on the drier end; also, the blueberries were extremely tart); a Sausage, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich (with comes with a side of homefries; we opted for the croissant as the bread, and this sandwich was pretty tasty! The sausage patty and the melty American cheese was quite delicious; the side of homefries were crispy and yummy); Steak & Eggs (steak with a side of 2 eggs, any style (I had mine over medium), with your choice of toast; the steak was a little chewy, and I was sad that they didn't have any steak sauce available T___T; and, Orange/Coconut French Toast (French toast with oranges and coconut shavings, butter with orange bits, and a choice of a breakfast meat (we opted for the bacon; this was quite delicious, as the French toast was infused with the citrusy orange and topped with toasted coconut; the citrusy butter was quite delicious as well). Service was attentive and lovely, and I loved watching the planes take off while chowing down. The food was pretty tasty, and I think this is a cute little breakfast/brunch/lunch spot that's a little out of the ordinary :D +crispy homefries +Sausage, Egg, & Cheese breakfast sandwich +Orange/Coconut French Toast +watch planes take off while dining :D +open for breakfast/brunch/lunch +ask for Josh :D

Went there today for breakfast with a $30 voucher purchased from yelp, which they refused to honor saying that "yelp sold those without owner's knowledge". Seems strange to me that yelp would start selling vouchers for a random business like that. Coffee was mediocre at best; food was ok, nothing spectacular. The main selling point of the place is that you can sit and watch planes come and go.

My mom and I went here for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday around 11:30am. It was VERY good. We got a sample of a few things... Pumpkin Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, and Orange Coconut French Toast (which I LOVED the most!) Everything was really great and service was great, too. It was nice to sit on the patio and watch the planes take off, as well. A great breakfast/lunch spot and very affordable!

A mouth full of home fries which were cool( but good), 1 piece of toast, yes, you read correctly 1 piece. Ham was thin deli sliced crap. Not sure how this place has 4 stars, must be the nice view of the runway. Unless your stuck here all day like I was, I would steer clear. Unfortunately I'll be here for lunch as well. Stay tuned, hopefully things get better! 1 star for Homefries and 1 for the view.

The food was simple, but really good. We had pancakes, eggs benedict, and eggs. The pancakes were perfectly done with great consistency (I ordered homemade black raspberry jam to spread on them, which made it even better). The eggs benedict had some seriously tasty canadian bacon. Although the waitstaff were nice enough, there were a lot of misunderstandings (and misorders) due to poor English. A very nice perk of this place is you can sit outside on the patio and watch the planes take off and land (very nice for kids)!

This place is unbeatable. The food is great, the service is great, and the owner taste checks every dish. We bring our son here because the outside deck is large and he can watch the planes land and take-off. Very family friendly atmosphere.

The Airport Cafe is a pretty cool place to lounge and eat decent food. I would recommend going on a warm day, sit outside on the deck, and watch the planes come and go. The chicken souvlaki is great (plenty of other Greek items) and typical breakfast dishes are decent. Friends love to check out the local airpark while catching some sun outside. It's nice to eat here and change up the scenery.

On March 28, 2004 our son celebrated his 9th birthday at the airport café and what a memorable event it was. About 20 kids and some parents attended the afternoon event. Guest arrived at 3 pm and decorated dollar store wooden model aircraft with stickers and markers. A friendly flight instructor took kids and parents on airplane rides around the traffic pattern. Each flight included on parent and two kids and went once around the pattern - a real thrill for all. Mean time, the other kids were busy making paper jets and other activities. Guest chose kids and adult meals from the wonderful deli menu. Later there was birthday cake and candles. All the times whey were being pampered and assisted by the café's staff - extra drinks and snacks etc. a video was made of the event and my kids and his sister must have watched it scores of times. It brings back such a great memory of this birthday. The cost? Surprisingly affordable when compared to other venues (e.g. Chuck-E-Cheese, etc.). It's worth mention that the café and most of the airport are relatively "contained". And secure. Kids can't easily wonder off without being noticed

we love to bring our grandchildren here. The food is very good especially the sandwiches and french fries and our grandchildren love to watch the planes take off and land you can spend the whole afternoon here.

Haven't been in a while, but I used to eat breakfast here a lot. Nothing fancy, but good pancakes and a great view of the runway; what more could you ask for on a Saturday morning?
