I expected some kind of a fast food experience because of the name of the place so I was surprised when the friendly waitress greeted me at the door and seated me. The place is very small but very neat. Warm dark colors and nice jazz made the ambience pleasant. The food was excellent and affordable. I had the basil leaves lunch special for $6.99 including a miso soup. The soup was delicious: probably the nicest tofu cubes I ever had in miso. The Ka Prow was spicy but not unbearably hot as promised. Zesty fresh vegetables, nicely done chicken, tasty sauce that was not too greasy. This place greatly exceeded my expectations. I instantly became a fan. My only concern is if I will find a table when I come back at a busier time.

It's ok. Prices are lesser than other Thai places so is the food quantity so I wouldn't call them cheaper. Taste is not bad but not that great compared to other Thai places in the area. This is more of a carry out and fast food kind of place so don't expect good service.

I work in the Kentlands and found this place while they were constructing and was very excited once they opened. Had the Thai iced tea, excellent and for $2.50! Large serving of mussaman curry! Pad Thai was excellent and flavorful and pad see eaw was good! Pretty excited to make this a regular Thai spot! All the dishes were under $10.

Discovered this place a week ago, went there Tuesday and got Pork Drunken Noodles, excellent. Ordered take out again tonight for myself an my wife. We had the Thai Spring Rolls which are the best I have had. My wife had Pad Thai with beef which she loved and she does not eat Thai. I had Pork Drunken Noodles again, my favorite. Each meal came with a nice little side salad also. The people are very nice, food was ready when they said it would be an it was done well. All for $26 and some change, cannot beat it.

Ordered over the phone from the website menu. Super courteous service taking order. Food came in a reasonable amount of time and was hot and correct. Dishes are well made and a reasonable amount of spice. Some of the curries had more potatoes than shrimp, but overall - delicious! Adding to my list of places to call for a quick delivery on too-late-to-cook-supper nights!
(4)Ericka M.
I really love this place. The food is tasty, cheap, and fast. My only complaint is that they can be a little stingy with the shrimp on the fried rice. I am used to seeing fried rice with ample shrimp. Thai Express only gives you 3 shrimp. At any rate, I love going here. They rarely disappoint.
(4)Jen J.
This is a cheap eatery. The food is good. You dont go here for the ambience or anything. Their lunch specials are 8 dollars and are better than the average chinese place that gives you junk. For the price, their portions are slightly smaller compared to other similar places. But the fact that food is delicious makes up for it. I have tried the drunken noodle, red curry, fried rice, mussamon curry etc. All good. This is a great take out place.
(4)Molly U.
My new, go-to Thai take-out restaurant. I have tried the green curry beef, panang curry, drunken noodles, pad see-ew, pad Thai, Thai fried rice, and spring rolls, and everything was fresh and tasty. The curries have just the right amount of kick to them. The price is good and the portions fair (although I do not typically go for things with shrimp in them, so I don't know how many you get.) I also cannot comment on the table service, as it's easier for me to take the food to go, but the people who take your order and hand you the take out are friendly and courteous.
(4)Telvis L.
Finally a Thai restaurant where the hostess, servers, and cooks all smile and make you feel welcome. The food is fantastic. I've tried the Thai fried rice, Tom ka gai noodle soup, curry puff and the Pad Thai...Very tasty!
(5)Gamril N.
Look no further! The place is very small so we usually order carryout. However, the food is excellent. Drunken noodles, green curry, pineapple rice all delicious. The pricing is so amazing you'd think you're robbing the place. Friendly staff too!
(5)David B.
First of all I ordered to from "thai express," my order of two items took almost an hour. So after that long of a wait, I get a completely subpar dish. Don't stop here the service is awful and the food worse.
(1)Kevin Y.
quick. tasty. cheap.
(5)Steve P.
Had take out the other day. I really have an issue with their portion size they give you. When I got home, my initial thought was they must have given me someone's left overs. The food was in a container and it wasn't even half full...almost all veggies and sprinkling of chicken. The food tastes ok, but if you are hungry, don't come here.
(2)CJ W.
Great pad thai, nice large portions. The coconut milk soup was HUGE as an entree and delicious. The wonton soup okay, though I don't prefer cabbage in mine. The delicious eggplant entree held up to its name, too! To top it off, I left my purse by accident and the server chased me down to outside to get it to me. Happy to have a better thai alternative in Gaithersburg, as Thaitanium is very disappointing.
(5)Lindsey W.
The food is pretty good! However the portion is REALLY SMALL and its a bit pricey for the the amount of food you get.
(3)Kim D.
I ordered from Thai Express for the first time tonight (for delivery) and am happy to recommend it. The food arrived faster than scheduled, it was hot, and the delivery man was pleasant. I ordered steamed dumplings for an appetizer, the massamun curry w/chicken, and a Thai iced tea. Everything was delicious.
(4)Molly N.
We stumbled upon this place while driving through the Kentlands. We grabbed a take out menu. We ordered from home and by the time we got to the restaurant (like 10 minutes), our food was ready. Everyone was really friendly in there. We ordered the Larb Gai (spicy chicken salad), the Chicken Satay and Chicken Pad Thai. We recommend all of these. The larb gai was just the right amount of spice, the chicken in the satay was cooked just right and the accompanying peanut sauce was delicious. The Chicken Pad Thai was a large serving.

UPDATE 2/10/14: They have a phone number, but so far it has been useless to try and call ahead. There apparently isn't anyone assigned to answer the phone. This is a huge inconvenience. We went back for lunch today and ate in. We tried the curry puffs which were a better appetizer than the dumplings. The server is super informative, patient, and attentive. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. My wife tried the generously portioned Thai iced tea and loved it. I don't know if I can steer away from the pad see ew; too good! I've upped the review to five stars, I think given the value and quality of the food Thai Express is deserving.
(4)Rontavia M.
This place has the Best Pad see ew have every had. We have also tried steamed dumpling (which my husband love), red curry (that was pretty good), thai fried rice (was ok) and the pineapple fried rice (which my coworker didnt care for) I give it 4 stars because i crave there food so much that i have been back about 7times within the last three months and the prices are great. i and the portions are good. I have ordered from them more but they dont deliver before 4pm or to my home address
(4)Yena S.
Cute small place in Kentlands! I've had carry-outs for Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, Kra Pow, and Mango w/ Sticky Rice. Flavors are mild, yet surprisingly good. Will revisit in the future!
(4)Christina S.
Small, but very clean and comfortable place. Service is great. I always like noodle soup so I ordered Sukiyaki with beef - I like the simple and pure taste of beef and vegetables even without sauce. The little blue bowl holding the miso soup looks pretty too. I don't eat thai food a lot but I like this place. At the beginning I was worrying that if it was just an "express food" place, but it turned out very satisfying. Not many people eating there though, not sure why.
(5)Adrienne L.
Everything I've had has been oh so delicious and at such good prices too. Service comes with a smile, and the restaurant itself is clean and cozy. Food is authentic with fresh ingredients. Brings me back to my memories of Thailand each time!
(5)Mark E.
Another tasty meal. Good service, extremely fresh food, especially the vegetables. Definitely enjoy this place.
(4)David S.
Great food! Great service! Great price! We had Pad Thai and panang curry and spring rolls. Food was delivered hot and quickly.
(4)Kimberly G.
Great Thai food, especially when you consider the price! We had Vegetable Fried Rice and Pad Thai & it was delicious. They have a great lunch special everyday- $6.99 for several different thai dishes.
(4)A. D.
Have ordered here a few times now. My favorites are the drunken noodles (first time I got them they were pretty dry, so I ask for extra sauce now and that works), panang curry, and green curry. I wouldn't do the spicy beef salad again, it came out grainy and sweet. The soups were a little disappointing as well. But overall, I would definitely order from them again and stick to my favorites.
(4)J E.
The fried tofu was not freshly cooked and was tasteless. Pad thai was mainly bland chicken and uncooked onion served with a side of rice - no noodles in it. Not like any Pad thai I've ever had and definitely not one I would order again. Will go to one of Kentland's other Thai restaurants in the future.
(2)Nils H.
An ok place to go. I only tried their drunken noodle carry out. Taste is 4 star, but portion is too small to call it an entrée. I had to complete my meal with a cup noodle. I live really close, and will go back only don't have time to go to other Thai places.
(3)K. David M.
Best Thai in the Kentlands. Small space with few tables situated under beautiful photos of Thailand. Personalized fast service. Everything we have tried is fresh and flavorful. Panang, Pad Thai, etc. All delicately flavored and filling.
(5)Fuad M.
Excellent food, reasonably priced. Service was also great; very quick and super friendly. Small dining room, but clean and friendly staff.
(4)Caroline B.
I was a lil weary of this place but after reading the reviews I decided to order delivery. And it rocked! I got the pad see ew and the pad thai and both came with salads with a delicious dressing. I also got a side order of rice and everything came to only 18 bucks! I will def keep this place on speed dial.
(4)Linda S.
Have been eyeing this restaurant since it opened, and finally went in. Located in a small space formerly occupied by a Subway restaurant. They obviously are doing a brisk business. I went with my two kids, and ate in. We love Thai food and this was great. My daughter had Spring rolls and Pad Thai without bean sprouts. My son had the Calamari appetizer and Lo Mein with pork. I had Fried Tofu and a dish with wide noodles and tofu in brown sauce. Everything was obviously made when we ordered it, the calamari was crispy and the batter was light. There are about 9 tables and all but one was occupied. Plus a constant stream of patrons picking up take-out. The Mango with sticky rice dessert was to die for. Thai iced tea in mason jars with handles was a unique touch. We plan on returning frequently. It's great to have a healthy option, that offers a wide variety in a very fast manner. Thai Express serves quality food that is on par with a more elegant sit down dining experience, without the high price and fuss. Love it.
(5)alex w.
This is my new to go to Thai place. I found it by accident and am glad I did. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because their Tom Yum soup tends to be on the sweet side for me. I like it sour and very spicy. Everything else I've tried (Pad thai, Pad See Ew, Curry noodles, Fried rice) has been exceptional.
(4)Chris B.
Honestly this is one of the better Thai restaurants I have tried anywhere from Bethesda to Gaithersburg. The food is really flavorful, the portions are decent, and the prices are ridiculously low for a Thai restaurant. About 8 bucks for an entree with meat, and they have some lunch specials too. While I will say places like Thai House may be slightly more flavorful, the price point really gives Thai Express an Edge. We ordered some standards. Pad Thai - slightly under flavored in my opinion but I cant really pinpoint why, still good. Drunken Noodle- awesome, super tastee, fresh veggies. Only complaint is even when I asked for it spicy, it was not that spicy. However they have a dry spice that you can ask for, and it really kicks up the heat! Green Curry Chicken - delish, amazing creamy sauce and tender chicken. This is a great find because it really is great Thai that I don't feel guilty going to regularly because price wise it is similar to other fast casual restaurants in the Kentlands like Chipotle, Noodles, Five Guys etc. Give it a try!
(4)Nick F.
Decent thai food but nothing great. Prefer Thaitanium which is near by but more pricey.
(3)Puja L.
We're generally a bit disappointed by Thai food in our area. There are a couple reasonable places, but nothing great. The Penang curry here, though, made me believe in good Thai food again! I rarely finish a whole dish, but I happily consumed ALL of it, rather quickly. Super tasty and flavorful. The prices are reasonable for the portions (which may be a bit smaller than other places, but are good) The drunken noodles were good, too, but nothing like that Penang curry!! Mmmmm, is it too early to go back tomorrow?
(4)Randi M.
Food was excellent, service okay. The only issue I had is that it was absolutely freezing in the place. I would definitely come back for take out but not to eat at the place. Every seat is by the door and when it's 28 degrees out, this is not the place to be. They do have a heater but it was not turned on.
(3)Nishat K.
While it's not extremely above average, it's great food for the price! Tucked away in Kentlands lies this little gem of a place (it's way behind the strip of the central stores). Thai Express is pretty small in size but has adequate seating and seems to be pretty clean. I can't quite speak for the service but the host (I believe) was really sweet and polite. As I said before, the food isn't crazy amazing BUT considering you're paying ~$8 to $10 for most entrees and ~$3 to $7 for appetizers, it's pretty stinkin' great. We ordered the calamari, "Thai veggie dumplings", kee mao, pad thai, and thai fried rice. Now when I say the food isn't super awesome, I don't mean it lacks flavor. The food's still really good, but don't expect to be floored. I'd probably skip the calamari and dumplings next time though. Calamari was too thickly breaded (think tempura-like coating), and the dumplings were a tad bit too oily. Overall though, I was really satisfied considering we had a great amount of yummy food for a even greater price! PS they do deliver, but only two miles out for now.
(4)alice t.
Really enjoyed my basil pork with rice lunch special! Food came out a bit slow, but definitely will come back for great lunch deals!!
(4)Joy Z.
My go to place for cheap, delicious thai food.
(4)Prashant A.
Really nice restaurant The best Thai food I had in gaithersburg The vegetarian options are also there .. The Thai ice tea was superb .. We tried red curry and drunken noodles .. And both were really good
(5)Adam S.
Thai Express is a very welcome addition to the Kentlands. Thai Express is pretty tiny, as the name implies, but it is kind of fun to be sitting in what is essentially an open kitchen. We haven't dined in before, so I can't speak to the table service. I can say that the kitchen appears to be flawlessly clean and the staff all wear gloves and hair nets. To the food! I'm a big fan of Pad Thai and I search it out most places I travel to. Hands down, this is in the top 5 for the best I've had anywhere in the US. The portion size is great for the price and they don't skimp on the protein. The curry dishes have deep flavor and everything is clearly freshly prepared. Their Thai Iced Tea is also a high point. For $2, how can you go wrong!? I particularly like that they make it when you get there so that the ice doesn't water it down. The lost star comes from the parking situation. On a weekend night it can be just about impossible to get a parking space anywhere near the restaurant. I recommend parking on the street and walking over. We are fans. We have been in multiple times and we will surely be back many more.
(4)Nguyên V.
A small Thai place in the corner of Kentland. The food was delicious, great portioned and delivered quickly. The service was friendly. I chose this place for the 4-stars rating on yelp and it did not disappoint. The noodle was delicious!
(4)Al H.
I ordered the Pad Kraprow and Thai Spring Roll. The spring roll was perfectly fried, not one bit of grease at all. The filling was moist and perfectly seasoned. The dipping sauce had the perfect complement of sweet and Sour elements making the spring roll a perfect appetizer. The Basil Chicken was fabulous! Onions perfectly cooked, beans with a nice crunch and large pieces of chicken. The sauce was fortunately more like a well seasoned broth that absorbed into the accompanied white rice. The portion was more than I would have expected for a lunch special. This will be my new go to place for Thai food. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu!!!
(5)Candace T.
This is the best spot in the Kentlands, and I've been to almost all of them. Every single thing I had was incredibly delicious, and I paid only $15 to eat myself silly at dinnertime. I had the Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup and Thai iced Tea, fiance had the combo fried rice, and my future mother-in-law had glass noodles with vegetables (can't remember the real name); we all loved our meal. I'm already dreaming about that Thai Iced Tea...it was so creamy and sweet. Service was also great; very quick and super friendly. Wheelchair Accessibility Review: Totally accessible through the front door, lots of accessible parking out front. Restaurant is a little small, but there enough room to maneuver and pull right up to the table. I didn't use the restroom, but I could see them down the hall, so no stairs, at least.
(5)Kris T.
Ok quality food. Overall, I've had much better. Many of the entrees are fairly bland. Veggie dumplings are a no-no as they were not fully cooked (doughy on the inside) and have a weird taste. They are actually more like dough balls that don't taste right. However, the fried rice dishes and noodle dishes are slightly better. I recommend sticking with the popular dishes (Pad Thai and similar) as I've ventured to the peanut sauce entrees and other dishes which really weren't done that well compared with other restaurants. I recommend getting the food to go as the atmosphere is cramped and loud due to an open concept with poor design (kitchen, cash register, food prep, dining are all in one open area). Nice staff.
(3)Rahul V.
New addition to the Kentlands where there has been a need for good, cheap thai. I've gotten takeout from here several times and the food is consistently good. Go to orders - Thai Chicken Basil (ka prow), Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao), Lemon Grass Soup (Tom Yum). Glad to have them in the neighborhood, food is of same quality/better than nearby Thaitanium with much better prices.
(4)Lillian C.
Decent lunch spot but I would not go out of my way for a dinner date here. Flavor is alright but will not wow you. At 7.99$ for lunch, gotta say, that's a good deal and I'll compromise not having the world's best lunch for a relatively affordable and semi-decent one. Definitely beats frozen food!
(3)Alan Z.
This is one of my favorite thai spots in the area. The food always tastes fresh and cooked really well! I'm a huge fan of their thai fried rice as well as the drunken noodles. Compared to other sit down restaurants which charge you more for mediocre thai food, this place is WAY better!
(5)Solace C.
Ok I'm being very very generous in giving this place 3 stars. Thai food is my comfort food and when i eat my favorite drunken noodles or pad Thai i want to feel comforted. I placed my order to go and apparently, I was lucky enough to order during lunch time special. So yay. I order drunken noodles and some Thai tea. I go to pick up and the place is very very small. I'm very claustrophobic so this wasn't good. It wasn't good that it was 90 degrees outside and inside wasn't cool. They were mad busy. So i had to wait and wait even though my order was ready. So I pay and make like a tree and leave... I got my noodles, and spring rolls along with my Thai tea..Thai tea was good ..one star... Ok I'm About to dive into my drunken noodles and to my dismay they all stuck together like glue... When noodles stick together like that it's because it wasn't rinsed throughly to break out the starch or it wasnt cooked long enough... The spices weren't there it just didn't wow me like my favorite Thai place. It didn't have enough meat. I had a tomato overload and that wasn't ripe and plump as what i used too. Honestly I was deeply disappointed in my dish. My shrimp was dry and it wasn't deveined all the way! I was biting shrimp tails! Yuck! The spring roll was okay but it almost tasted like I was eating a hollow fried roll. The shrimp rolls were good in the peanut sauce. It was delish. I'm uncertain if I'll try this place again. But for sure I'll never order drunken noodles again.
(3)Neha G.
I tried drunken noodles.. It was suppose to be spicy as per the menu but was sweet. I would give its a 3. The food was very oily
(3)Zahra K.
Quick service, decent Thai food. Great spot to go grab if you're on lunch. Wouldn't go there otherwise.
(3)Elena T.
Such good Thai food for such good prices! Their Thai basil fried rice is delicious and so is their panang curry. My go to Thai place now : )
(5)Andrew K.
I'm glad to have another Thai food option in Kentlands. Fairly small restaurant and not too much seating but a good option for takeout. Prices are a few dollars cheaper than most Thai restaurants. I tried the pad see ew which was good. The Kee Mao was spicy and tasted ok but I wish the flat noodles weren't too chewy. The massaman curry was good and I liked their Thai iced tea. This will be a good option for takeout for me and I'd give it 3.5 stars.
(3)Omar F.
Man everything was clean and great!! Curry puffs , tom yum soup , sweet and sour chicken and golden calamari ! #WOW
(5)Vic M.
I've tried the Tom Yum soup, Tom Kai Gai, Drunken Noodles, Curry Stiryfry, Thai Iced Tea, and the Pad Thai. I haven't been disappointed. The portions aren't huge, but they are just right. The price is right too. You can eat in and watch some Food Network shows, get it to go, or delivery. Either way it all works out very well. The folks there are pleasant. I would recommend. If you want Thai food in the Kentlands and don't want to wait forever like the other places, don't want to wait for a seat (like the other places), and don't want to over pay (like many of the places), then come here.
(5)Zara K.
There was something lacking in their green curry that I can't pinpoint ! Texture was great veggies were great chicken was fine the curry itself was on the spicier taste but didn't have that same aroma and green curryness that it should ! Good for price but not sure I want to give them another try! I went a second time yesterday and had their drunken noodles and green curry again! Same Flavour standard good curry but not coconuty enough (if that's a word) it lacked that coconut Flavour! The drunken noodles had a good clean taste all the noodles were seperate good quality but extremely spicy! We asked for spicy but this was a little overboard and I can take A lot of heat!! Good for the price good portion size and good quality! Flavour could be better since everything else is perfect Oh and their jasmine rice is better than most places! Great jasmine rice !
(3)Sue R.
I love this place. It my go to for Thai. They have pretty decent food, they're inexpensive, and they deliver for free!! Delivery does take a little while though - usually like 45 min - so keep that in mind. I live near the Kentlands so I order from here pretty often, usually when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to cook or go out to get food. They have pretty standard thai fare - I especially like their green curry and the drunken noodles. They also have pretty good fried rice. I would recommend steering clear of the veggie dumplings though, they're greasy and kinda weird. If you want an appetizer opt for the spring rolls instead.
(5)E M.
This is a great hidden gem. Great picks are the curry puffs,Tom yum soup, Thai dumplings and the cashew chicken. We tried the red curry and didn't love it. Won't get it again. It was really soupy and had a strong unwelcomed flavor, maybe anise? The pad Thai was a winner also. It would be great if the spring rolls came with 4 to a serving instead of 2. They are small for the price.
(5)Suzan H.
Ordered a take out. The order was prepared quickly even for a Friday night. The Tom Kha Gai was not what I expected. I have eaten this soup hundreds of times elsewhere but at Thai Express, they water it down and add a sweetener. Not rich and delicious: I was disappointed. Seems like they added about a tablespoon of coconut milk to water. The lemon grass, lime and other spices could have been stronger. Also ordered two curry's. The green curry was very spicy and shrimp small sized. Might try again and see how it goes, but I am not sold.
(3)Mabel L.
Best Thai food we've had since moving to Maryland from California. The Pad Thai and Thai Fried Rice were not as I had expected, which was okay. But the Pad See Ew and the coconut milk soup were very good. Prices are very reasonable and relatively large portions (in Maryland standard). I would have to say that the name "Express" is sort of deceiving as it takes a while to get your food. But it comes out piping hot and fresh. Not much compliant, just that you have to allot a bit extra wait time when you order, even if it's for to-go.
(4)S. O.
I absolutely love this place. This has become my go-to place for Thai food. Each dish is priced based on the type of meat that you choose [chicken, pork, beef, veggie or seafood] Here's the run down on what I've tried Delicious Eggplant - lives up to its name! The eggplant are made perfectly - not soggy. Massamum Curry - delish! peanutty type of curry Basil Fried Rice - make sure you ask for not spicy if you can't handle spice Panang Curry - never knew this was a spicy dish but it could be. ask for "not spicy" if you don't want your lips burning Thai Iced Tea - comes in a mason jar! Super cute and delish! Curry Puffs - the order comes with 3. There's more filling than there is dough, which is great! There's chicken, potatoes and onions stuffed inside. Fried Tofu - can't go wrong with fried tofu - it's a light appetizer Mango Sticky Rice - can't go wrong with this but the portion is a bit small for $4.25. Thai Custard - this is interesting...it's made of taro..not bad if you want to try something new but I prefer the mango stick rice over this. The only flaw is that it seems like they skimp on portions when you take things to go...I'm not sure how portions are measured when they cook but it lacks consistency in that sense.
(5)Val M.
Consistency is the key word here. It's taken me several months to find a GReAt Thai joint. Back in San Diego i didn't have this problem. After about 6 restaurants a coworker of mine suggested this place. though I was hesitant I went and had my favorite dish and I was back again a couple more times that same week. I've tried their green curry, fried rice, pad thai, spicy noodles, ka pow, all excellent dishes and whenever I go back it's always just as good if not better! The staff is friendly and the Thai tea is excellent! I can't believe they don't get more business!
(5)John H.
Tried Thai Express for the first time today. The food wasn't too bad for the price. I ordered the seafood drunken noodles and it was delicious. The thing that impressed me was that although the dish was spicy, the flavor wasn't overwhelmed by the heat. That is easy to ruin and the fact that they avoided that mistake is a plus. The shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly. What I disliked was the fact that I had 3 average sized shrimps and 3 squid rings on my plate. For $10 I wasn't expecting much, but I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a more proportional serving. Also the miso was a bit too grainy for my liking. The service was a mixed bag. When I placed my orders on the phone the guy that answered was okay. The girl that collected payment wasn't exactly happy when I asked to split checks. When I asked what credit cards they took she said Visa/MC and as she was lying to me I noticed a sign with every major logo on it...not too thrilled with that. No offense, but I've come to expect poor service at Asian restaurants. Something like that happens almost every time I visit one (in fact the only asian place I don't feel taken for a fool is Peking Palace in Germantown). Does that make it okay? Not really, but whatever, I'm not here to make friends, I just want to stuff my face. I just would hate to see a hardworking family eventually lose their local business because of poor customer service. With that said, I'll be back to try more of their dishes. I just hope they don't go out of business with them picking and choosing credit cards to take and all.
(3)James C.
Love this place. The food is fast and we'll priced. I used to live in Thailand and the food here tastes almost exactly like what I used to eat over there. There are few Thai places I would recommend over this one.
(5)Keiana C.
4 stars for the quality of food. I ordered delivary a few days ago because Thai food is everything in life and more. I ordered drunken noodles with shrimp, although the wait was 45 minutes it was worth it. It was my first time having drunken noodles and from the flavor to the level of spiciness it was on point. The delivery guy was nice as well which is rare these days, so they make for good customer service across the board. I'll be going back again for sure.
(4)Melvin B.
Been coming here almost once every other weeks for about 12+ weeks now. Fantastic Thai food at awesome prices! Love the free thai salad that comes with every order. It's small, but it's yummy and free! Even my 2 yr old boy loves the salad! Anyway, this place is definitely worth every penny. Thai Tanium has got nothing on this place (granted that Thai Express's menu is not as grandiose and extensive)!
(4)Thao N.
Hard to find but worth the trip! From great Seneca, stay on Kentlands blvd, right into Booth, right again behind Panera, the restaurant is on the corner. Order ahead via Yelp, it's so easy! I can't attest to whether it was on time because we were late. But the food was still piping hot! I'd recommend what I had - drunken noodles with beef and green curry with chicken. Both came with a side salad and the curry came with rice. The curry had more chicken than vegetables. Strong coconut milk flavor. Nothing bad to report and will definitely be returning.

I wasn't quite sure what to think about this place when we sat down to eat. I mean, what is a Thai Express anyhow? Does that mean it's "fast food" thai-style? Is is a take-out kinda place? Is it Americanized-Thai food only? What??? On an early Saturday evening, this place was very quiet. - Curry puff pastries came out piping hot, not greasy, and uber flaky just the way mom would make her curry pastries! I would have liked more meat than just one piece I found amongst the 3 served. - Fried Spring Rolls also came out piping hot and not dripping with grease, but the two rolls looked so lonely on their plate, perhaps more friends next time? - Complimentary Salads - It's a salad, come on, I can't really say much except that the lettuce was fresh (and not soggy) and the sweet and sour-ish dressing was a nice touch. - (Beef) Drunken Noodles - We asked for it to be mild (sorry, no fire-breathers in our house) and again, not greasy (can you tell I don't like my stuff slathered in butter and/or grease?), perfectly cooked. - Pineapple Fried Rice - No friends needed here, this was a hearty portion (and I can't use more adjectives to describe fried rice because its FRIED RICE. As long as it's not.......Greasy, I'm good). - Mango Sticky Rice - Mango's were a bit on the tart side, but it balanced out quite well with the warm & sweet sticky rice. Yes, the place isn't terribly big, but it's nicely decorated, clean, and chic. I will admit that for Kentlands, this place is as "Thai" as some get, but there are in fact some very good Thai authentics (totally not what we ordered btw, so stop judging). The food portions seemed on the smaller side, but between the two of us, we had 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert - $38 sans tip, which was Totally not bad. 4.5 Stars. I'll def be back!
