Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Very delicious pizza and subs. Fast service also and they're opened late. Highly recommend it as an alternative to other popular fast food establishments.

So let me warn you that this review was based on late night delivery after drinking a few brewskis and getting the munchies. Can't say much about eating during the day for lunch or dinner, never had it, never will. So, what I'm trying to say is if you're drinking with friends and there's nothing open and your starving AND you don't/can't/shouldn't drive out to get food THEN you will love Starvin Marvins. My go to is the steak and cheese and pizza. That's all I have really gotten there. Maybe one day I'll try the food sober, maybe not. I'd rather hold on to the notion that the food here is awesome, trying it out sober will ruin everything.

Went here last night since it is the only place we could find open so late on a Monday night. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap .... It was tasty but didn't taste much like buffalo chicken more like teriyaki ... Overall not horrible, but not amazing.
(3)Steven M.
Your typical delivery type pizza, wings type fare. Pretty tasty and still delivered in decent time despite crap weather, which is a major plus for me. Would recommend to anyone else who needs a quick bite for decent price. Good portions.

I had a horrible experience with the manager and their food. 1. They said they offer NY style pizza. It tastes nothing like pizza in NY. I grew up there and this tasted like papa johns, not thing crust, bad ingredients, not fold-able. There pizza is a joke, it was like eating cardboard. They got our order wrong as well and charged us for the full price and decided to bring the second pizza later that night. No discount at all. When calling the manager was the most rude person speaking to my wife. He insulted her so much we had to keep calm and just deal with the horrible food and service. Never speak to their manager or order their pizza. What a horrible experience!!!!!

stuck in my hotel tonight and ordered in to a thick accented fast talking Starvin Marvin Gaithersburg. Friendly enough but hard to understand I ordered a Pizza which came fairly quick. First off it was $22 bucks for a medium meat lovers with 2 cans of Brisk tea. No worries but a bit too high. Next I opened the box and it really didn't look bad but boy it was a lot like Domino's of Papa John's. With chewy cheese and chewy dough I am expecting not feeling very well tomorrow. Now I would have given them 2.5 stars because the speed accuracy and presentation but the pizza doesn't impress me. My advice is try someplace else.

This place has good pizza have had it a couple times and enjoyed it. However the meatball sub not my favorite I think they used old bay in the meatball not my cup of tea. All I could taste was nutmeg not the best taste with Italian. Old bay is not my cup of tea on anything other then seafood. Not on fries like they do here. If you like it this is your place.

Every time I call this place they are so rude. I have spent a TON of money here.I spoke to Malik last night who was terrible when I told him my subs arrived wet and soggy. He told me that's how their subs are from juices from the steak. Even though I got a veggie sub. I always say I will no longer order from them but they are open late so I always go back. NO MORE . too many businesses out there to support with great customer service. This place is terrible and so are the people that work there
(1)R M.
Gyro okay. Horrible customer service! Hung up before I was done talking! Maybe their other food is better. But they do deliver quick and late so I guess that's good.

WORST experience EVER. I've ordered a lot of stuff from here and this one time they brought me the wrong pizza, refused to bring me the right one, was extremely rude and kept passing me off to different people and placed on hold constantly till i just gave up. He specifically told me on the phone that it wasn't his problem so after that i just hung up I'm done with starvin marvins they don't care about their customers and they will not help you if theres something wrong with your order and they will be extremely rude to you.

Just had the Family Meal Deal and was pretty darn good, the price of $39.00 was at least 1 star, the food a strong 3.5 stars, extra lg pizza (pretty good) was extra cheesy, the 2 cheese steaks (pretty well stuffed), a dozen hot wings (ehh) and a 2 ltr of coke fed 5 adults and 1 child easily.. Overall a good find, good eats and a great price! Worth a try! The guy who answered the phone was super friendly and I didn't have any problem understanding his accent... said it would take 45 mins to 1 hr, but got to our house in 30 mins... worth a half star at least lol
(4)Dave B.
Had a steak and chicken steak subs. Steak had good flavor Chicken steak lacked flavor French fries were excellent. Both subs were not over stuffed, towards the end of the subs was mostly bread I would return to try other menu items including their pizza. Over all. 3.5 rating

Haven't met a pizza from Marvin's that wasn't delicious. Have driven out of my way to get this pizza. My favorite pizza in the area.
(5)Manda P.
Super huge portions. Great prices. So many selections. And oh. Yeah. Everything I've had there so far has been nothing short of what I would have expected. They do take a while to deliver though.
(4)Ayesha M.
For a carryout this place is very good Ive had almost everything from their turkey decker club to their steak and cheese subs. The salads are always fresh. Really this is the best carryout ever. I have never had their pizza so no comment on that.
(5)Laura G.
Man on the phone was ignorant & a liar. Acted like it was an inconvenience to take the order which he got wrong anyway. I asked for a "well done" cooked pizza. It was delivered doughy & undercooked. I called and rude man chewing loudly into the phone tells me they only cook pizza one way and not well-done. Why didn't he tell me that when I ordered? Also, the Pepperoni Lovers pizza had no more meat than any other regular pizza would. This place used to be good and now it's Awful.
(1)Katie D.
Person who answers the phone was extremely rude.. food arrived cold. Will not be ordering from here again mainly because of the poor customer service.
(1)Matt P.
Man I grew up going to this place. Really good steak and cheese. Really good pizza. And they deliver to the Gaithersburg area. Still as good as it use to be. Glad they are still around. Typical pizza joint inside. Small seating with tv.
(5)Kirk W.
BBQ wings are slamin, when they hear you correctly over the phone and get your order right... they always mess up my delivery order and never send me the right one, cruddy! Food still slamin tho!

I use to frequent this shop often. However, I have not been there for about 6 months and today was a big disappointment!!! Without the owner there (from Philly) my cheese steak was really wrong. They DO still give you lots of meat, but the bun is the problem!!! No longer are they using the crusty, thin rolls, but now use soft very bready rolls!!! Too much bun, and no crunchy outside. VERY DISAPOINTING! It also lacks any flavor!!! That was an unpleasant surprise. NO FLAVOR, TOO MUCH SOFT SQUISHY BREAD!!!! - They can not say this is a Philly cheesesteak any longer!!! Not sure if I'll go back, BUT if I do, I'll call to see if the owner is at the grill before I order. They use to be fantastic!!! Like home. Crushed.....
(2)Matt H.
Steak and cheese here is pretty good and the french fries, tater tots and onion rings are all pretty good too. They also have a pretty good delivery range. Sometimes the employees can be rude on the phone though so I would recommend just placing an order online.
(4)Michael R.
My chicken wrap is good, but please list all ingredients on the menu. I was not expecting pickles.
(3)John N.
So this is one of those places that you would find on diners, drive-ins and dives. This place is definitely a dive. First off this place is a total shit hole....it's not pretty and it sometimes smells like old cheese. But then I think about all the shit places I used to eat in college, while stumbling home drunk at 2 in the morning. Yeah this place is way better than that. They have such a huge menu that I have not tried everything, but im pretty sure you cant go wrong with anything here. Their steak and cheese's are awesome, their Gyro's are awesome, their cold subs are awesome. There pizza is not bad, not my first choice, but its good. Ohh and anyplace that puts old bay seasoning on their fries is ok in my book. Its quick, its cheap and its good. Give it a go and you wont be disappointed.
(4)Imran Z.
Nice late night place... they deliver quickly... Gyro's are top notch, as are tater tots...
(5)Afshin D.
O "Zero" Service Please learn, if some is calling to place an order you have to be pleasant over the phone. Please pick you your phone with, a "how may I help you". Especially a store like yours with a not very good rating and reviews. I was going to place an order, the way that the guy was talking over the phone, was very rude. If you don't see me and acting like as I'm wasting your time, I can just imagine how you are planing to make my order. NO THANK YOU
(1)William S.
I only order by Steak and Cheese from them! They are the best. Good fresh bread. I've never been disappointed in their subs. Their pizza and wings are so-so but their subs are dependable and are my go to food on stressful days.
(5)Chaz C.
Huge portions for the right prices and great food options. They are fattening, greasy and not good for someone watching their diet but it tastes great and great pizzas too. I would go much more if they were closer.
(5)Sara C.
Anybody else notice what aholes these people are? They're always rude and awkward. Just the other night they delivered a pizza to my husband - who had ordered a sandwich - and the guy had the nerve to give him attitude about it. He was also overly confused by the mix-up even though the correct order was just out in his car. Bunch of idiots. And the pizza is crap. Pretty sure they use pre-made frozen crust.
(2)Super P.
Not bad. Prices are affordable. I would not say it is sketchy inside but it is small and not exactly bright and friendly. Pizza is ok, sauce is a little bland and not what I am used to for NY style pizza. Not too greasy and the meatballs have a nice flavor to them. Gyros: excellent. The meat is very flavorful and it was hot. Their french fries are also pretty good. Overall, not a bad place to get full for less than 20 bucks and you know that crappy ol' Domiblows or Pizza Butt wont' do..
(3)Adam J.
Good pizza especially for the price. Subs are average but good. Wings are just ok but I eat them anyway. People that work there are not too friendly.
(3)Lisa I.
Everything that we have ordered for delivery has been very good. We've had all kinds of pizzas, the lamb and beef gyro, steak and cheese sub, and chicken wings. They have THE BEST Old Bay chicken wings--I wake up in the middle of the night craving them! They are crispy and juicy, and so Old-Bay-ey? Not sure that's a word. The pizza is kind of doughy, but I love it that way. The gyros are made of meat from a spit (or at least it seems this way)--it is not the pre-cut frozen stuff. Also, because they have such a huge menu, everyone can find something they like. Definitely recommend this place, especially for a crowd. My only complaint is that the person that always seems to answer the phone is pretty rude. He answers like it is house, and not a business. Sometimes when he puts me on hold I can hear him cursing in the background. I would just like to not feel like I am bothering them by placing an order.
(4)Paul M.
This place is awesome! The subs are very good and it's about the best pizza you can get in this area. I would be doing them a disservice if I failed to mention the AMAZING fries that they serve. They are very good.
(5)Mr R.
Sorry to say but they used to have best steak n cheese... don't know what happened now...
(1)Michael O.
Warring, I ordered from All Menus, and not till they left with the order did they call me to let me know there was another $3 delivery charge, had to be payed in cash (that why I used All Menu, I don't do cash it all on my debit card, had to dig around my car a bit for enough coins to pay the $3 fee) Also and hour and a half to deliver. I will not be ordering from them again.

This place is best for carryout or delivery, they have a few tables but mostly it's a great place for subs & pizza to go. They have everything you could want: Outstanding Subs and Really Good, scratch made, hand tossed pizza using homemade sauce that has plenty of garlic in it. I've been eating here for over 20 years and only wish there were sandwich shops as good as Starvin Marvin in DC & VA. Their crispy seasoned french fries are good too. I no longer live nearby so when I get a chance to eat there I usually get a Steak & Bacon Cheese sub, toasted, with American cheese. Their Gyro is also really good, so are the cold cuts and various unique subs. They get fresh sub rolls from Ottenberg's Bakers everyday. Really you can't go wrong with anything you order here (except Salads, This is not a place for a Salad). Also, I recommend their Meatballs. Meatball & Cheese Sub or Meatballs on their pizza. The Meatballs are good. Just Make Sure to tell them to toast your sub, or however you prefer it, and they'll make it better than anyplace else.

We ordered from Grub Hub and our food was great! I do not know about the reviews here but our food was hot when it arrived and tasted wonderful. We will order from them again in the future for sure.

Starvin Marvin Pizza joint wavers back and forth for me on so many points + Just the name reminds me of early southpark when i used to watch all the time and LOVED every new episode. -Buffalo Wings sucked, not even close + 12" cheese pizza for under $9 - Cheese pizza has too much sauce, and a bit too doughy + Garden salad comes in a big square clear plastic box - Salads come with Ken's dressing, which is watery and disgusting + Delivery to the hotel room +/- I was in the shower since they showed up in 20 min when they quoted me 30-40 min - not really good NY style pizza + not domino's or pizza hut - comes with nasty garlic butter oil packet + sometimes comes with free stuff :) In the end, the meal of pizza, wings and salad was made palatable by a beer, and I might look for another local join to get a pie, but i still might stop in for a slice. For some reason some places are much better at slices than delivery pies.
(2)Greg S.
Well it appears Starvin has opened in Frederick and it Sucks.... we went there to try it and the sub roll was not even toasted, I would recommend Pizza Blitz as a far superior place. And as fast food subs go Quizno's or Subway before this place.
(2)E C.
2.5 would be more sufficient. It was ok, but wow have I had way, way, way better. I'm VERY unimpressed with the food but it wasn't nasty by any means. Double personal pepperoni pizza (tiny) was very bleh overall, crust was doughy, sauce could've been more flavorful...made me wish I'd have ordered Domino's like I was going to before calling here. Fries with old bay were good, chicken tenders are good but wow TINY & overpriced, cheeseburger sub was almost cold....you would think they'd wrap a hot sub/sandwich in aluminum foil and the taste of the beef was sort of bland. I'd put my money in other places before I'd order from here again.
