You can't go wrong with a Starbucks Frap on the first unofficial day of summer. I like that you can go with a low calorie option for your drinks. I enjoy hanging out with the dogs outside on the patio. The Americano is my favorite hot drink option.

Great customer service! So I decided that I wanted to make my own coffee at home. I bought a coffee maker, planned out my life and all that was missing was coffee. I searched all over Germantown but zero blonde roast was in sight. I showed up here looking for a bag of blonde roast that I could buy. I got the attention of a barista passing by and she was awesome. She explained the different options that I had and then helped me make a decision. She then pointed me in the direction of the the line while she grinded my coffee beans. I now have Starbucks at home and I'm happy.

My favorite Starbucks in the area centered in downtown Kentlands. I love Kentlands area, maybe biased cuz I lived there but it's a great spot to grab coffee and hang out. I've spent many a day at this location working on my laptop or just hanging out with my 2 year old. The mornings are stroller mom headquarters so be prepared to hear about sleep and potty training while you are enjoying your cup of coffee. The servers here usually get my drink right and routinely makes better drinks than any Starbucks I've been to. I remember when this location was a Seattles Best so I'm happy the global coffee giant (or should I say Venti) is here! When the weather gets nice, enjoy some seating outside while people watching. The Good: -Great location, newly renovated space gives it a nice feel. Good outdoor space, lots of dog owners hang outside. - Stroller moms and family friendly. - Great service and drinks are perfect. - Free wifi The Bad: - Place can get crowded and hard to find seats - Limited amount of outlets for plugging up laptops - Stroller moms and family friendly (for those that don't like this) The Ugly: - Nothing ugly here, Starbucks has sucked the wallets of many, me included and I can't stop! It's interesting that the Starbucks logo is of a siren and the symbol actually means "obsession, addiction, death". How fitting! :)

As I said previously I am biased towards Starbucks. Because I like the coffee. This Starbucks is around medium size (is that grande or venti ? And why doesn't Starbucks label things small, medium, and large?). It's a happening place on a Tuesday morning; lots of people drinking coffee working on laptops chatting. Comfortable looking chairs and tables inside. Nice sunny outdoor seating too. Staff is friendly and service is prompt.

This is my third time at this location ... My third bad experience ... So I'm finally writing a review ... The staff is completely rude to me every single time... This younger blonde set my drink down on the counter...... I was waiting for a second drink and she sets it down furthest away from me and said oh I didn't expect you to order multiple drinks..... What is that suppose to mean??? .... This is a pretty dumb reason to get offended.. But I was... Regardless nothing but bad experiences here.

I like the new remodel. Seemed to have added more seating in a location that is usually packed. Slow service at certain peak times is still a problem as with most Starbucks stores in this area. Victims of their own success I guess....slow moving baristas also, especially when they chat up the regular customers when 12 people are waiting in line.....but can't make everyone happy all the time now can you?

Excellent customer service and great buzz. This Starbucks is almost always humming but they handle the crowd well. While I often find certain coffee options at Starbucks a little bitter, I recently discovered the blonde roast and recommend it. This is a huge neighborhood hangout so if you live in the Kentlands be prepared to run into at least one person you know!

This Starbucks in the Kentlands (across the street from the Diner) is big and roomy with lots of big tables for large groups, and smaller seating arrangements for those of us that over-glutted ourselves on fatty carbs at the diner across the street, and is falling into a food coma, but we can't head home, because we also got tickets to the movie in 40 minutes, and that's not enough time to head home, but it's too much time that sleep is quickly over taking us, so we need to get a couple of shots of coffee into us while we kill some time, or we'll be the only people on the planet that slept through a 2pm showing of Avengers.

Quality coffee and tea, excellent customer service, and the lines move quickly. You would think that all starbucks are created equal, but not so. The coffee does not always taste the same to me in every starbucks, so I must report that the coffee here is pretty good. Now, I am not a schmancy coffee drinker. I like regular coffee, hot or iced. I get more adventurous with tea, but I'd go elsewhere for good, high quality tea since they have the basic Tazo here. The location is great, in the heart of the Kentlands, which is easy walking distance to homes and other businesses, and has plenty of parking. There is a great deal of seating, and importantly, a great deal of seating for one or two people, because it is highly annoying to walk in with a group of 3-4 people and see every four top taken by a singleton college student and a mountain of books, prepared to camp out on a table for hours. Now, I was once such a camper, and have no issues with the activity (way to go, studious student!), but it is annoying when an establishment doesn't have a variety of seating options. Not an issue here, thank you Kentlands starbucks. There are always a ton of people here, but do not be turned away at the sign of a big line. They move very quickly here, and the baristas are always cheerful, kind and highly skilled. Do be sure to double check if you order something decaf. Apparently few people do decaf in this area, so they don't always have it in stock or can sometimes accidentally poor you the good stuff, which could ruin your evening if you were actually counting on decaf! Also good coffee in the Kentlands? Panera, and the new Not Your Average Joes (though does not have take out cups, grr). Skip Whole Foods' coffee, which is normally good, but lately has been lukewarm, mostly empty, and a little bitter.

It's Saturday morning and I am going through my grocery list in my still foggy mind. I am also in desperate need of coffee. So, before shopping, I park my car in the large parking lot in the Whole Foods Market/Michaels/Five Below square and walk over to Starbucks. It's very calm and peaceful outside. The sun is still rising in the sky; the morning air is fresh and crisp; and birds are chirping and flying around. I walk inside and my ears are immediately overwhelmed by sounds of people talking and laughing, kids shouting, coffee grinding, employees asking for whomever is next in line, and baristas calling out customers' drinks. I see the morning runners standing on one end of the room waiting for their post-run recovery caffeine, the seating area almost full, four or five Starbucks employees busy behind their stations, and a long line of people still waiting to order. I wonder if I made a mistake of coming here on a Saturday morning. Despite my apprehension, the realize that the line is moving quickly. The employees are doing a very efficient job in greeting us, making small talk, placing our order, warming our pastries and breakfast sandwiches, and making our drinks. I reach the register and the employee compliments my shirt choice and asks if it is from Gap (it is!). After a quick chat, I place one of my two usual morning caffeinated beverage order--tall Americano, no room--and move over to the pick-up station. Despite there being five people ahead of me, I get my drink in under two minutes (probably because it's not as complicated as a "triple grande soy 3-pump cinnamon dolce extra hot latte"). I look around for a place to sit. I count a few families with kids at the large tables; elderly gentlemen reading their newspapers on the sofas, diligent students writing essays (while listening to music and switching over to Facebook and Pinterest every few minutes), and a couple solos sitting at individual tables staring at their smartphones. I spot an empty table and sit down. I imitate the solos and pull my my own smartphone to check my e-mails and tweets. I take a sip of my americano and it's quite good. No taste of burnt coffee beans here! After a few minutes, I look up and see that the place is even more packed than before! A gentleman comes over and asks if I could share the table with him. Being the polite and hospitable person that I am, I graciously offer him the extra seat. He thanks me and sits down and pulls out his smartphone to, probably, check his e-mails and tweets. I continue doing the same. After a while, I leave to start my grocery shopping, caffeine in hand. Despite being at the heart of the Kentlands, this Starbucks is quite clean, spacious, and efficient. Its employees are very kind and its patrons are very respectful and courteous. I appreciate that the parents of children do attempt to keep their kids' actions and volume under control. Overall, a very good chain coffee shop!

This is my favorite Starbucks to go to for studying, hanging out, etc., even though it's not the one closest to my house. There's a good amount of seating and the staff are consistently friendly and prompt. It's conveniently located by the Whole Foods. I came here a lot when I was studying for my CPA and I've also done a lot of tutoring here. Sometimes the noise level can get a bit high, since a lot of people bring their kids, and some older kids also occasionally come in groups.

Of all the Starbucks in my area, this one is by far the best. Friendly baristas and they Always are consistent with making my complicated drinks perfect.

I used to love this place because it's walking distance from my home. I used to take my ipad and use the free wifi and just chill. Recently, I was off at work and decided to "just chill". I can never relax here anymore, it seems like it became the local daycare for paying customers. Confused, was I at a mall's play area? Noisy. But that's just me, if I want to relax, then just stay home, right? It's just weird for a Starbucks to have this chaotic ambiance.

I really like this Starbucks. Granted, it serves your typical Sbucks coffee, but sometimes there are advantages to chains. For example, if you register your gift card here, you get free add-ins, such as syrups and soy milk (I'm lactose intolerant, so the 60 cents per drink adds up!) This location is notably different from others because it is very large, with plenty of seating and tables. Even though it's not the closest sbucks to me, I come here to study pretty often because the Fallsgrove one gets soo crowded. I don't mind making the 5 minute trip out of the way to have my own table or sit comfortably at the big table. There's also a lot of outlets here, which is great. They even have a circuit breaker in the back near the portable( w/ the straws/creamer/etc.) so you can easily keep your laptop, cell phone, ipad, and everything else you could possibly charge fully powered for those long study days. (but who DOES that?? not me... ...) They also leave a pitcher of ice water and cups out, so you can help yourself to water without bothering anyone. convenient for both sides; good thinking baristas. Parking is extremely convenient here, with a huge lot in front of the Michael's nearby. (which is also terribly convenient for whenever I feel the need to go on a craft binge)

The comment about this Starbucks being a daycare center is right on point! I've lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years and it's gotten worse over the years. Babies/young children are fine, I'm a Mom too. But allowing those big bulky, double strollers into such a small place is not only annoying, it's dangerous! In an emergency, you'd trip trying to get out!
