This place opened up right next to Chipotle and serves chicken, beef, shrimp, salmon teriyaki while also serving some sushi. The chicken teriyaki is pretty good and they use big chunks of chicken. The beef is not that great, and tasted bland. For $6, it's a decent meal and they have a special deal going on where if you buy 1, you get a chicken teriyaki for $2.99. Another issue is the lines move really slow. I think they need one extra body back there because I had to wait 20 minutes for my food. I've waited at Chipotle for half the time with twice as many people on line. I think Sarku Japan has better teriyaki but for being close to where I live, it's not a bad option although I think Ricky's Rice Bowl in the same plaza tastes better.

Gross. Sushi isn't the right ratio of meat to rice...too much rice. Chicken tasted too salty and noodles were too mushy and bland. The place at Montgomery Mall is better than this place but they're new so I'll give them a chance to fix their kinks...maybe I'll come back in a couple of months.

I knew we'd be in the area around dinnertime, so I looked around to see what was there. Despite the mixed review this restaurant has, we decided to try it. Boy am I glad we did. It's definitely fast food as far as serving speed. However, the taste was that of a much more expensive restaurant. We both had the beef and shrimp hibachi with an additional 4 pieces of California Roll. The hibachis were tasty with ample proportions and the California Rolls were fresh. And the cost was less than half that of other hibachi places. A great find - and we'll definitely be back.

We stopped by here on Sunday at 8:30 and ordered 5 hibachi meals 2 chicken, 1 tofu and 1 salmon. They were all huge and amazing! The staff is very helpful and the portions are huge! The chicken is tender and juicy. Will return!

  • Valerie S.

The customer service is bad, the food was soggy and not flavorful, and the cooks were blasting bachata music over the intercom. I will avoid this place.

This is more so like Sarku Japan which you find in mall food courts. They offer buy 5 get one meal free and stamp their business card. What I do like about them is that they have bubble tea (only 3 flavors but OK with me). They also have sushi. I had the chicken and shrimp hibachi with noodles and fiance had the beef and shrimp hibachi. I preferred the chicken. The beef was just oily. Kind of lacked sauce. We ordered sushi as well and got the spicy crab and shrimp rolls (8 rolls for $5). Was in a hurry and stopped here. Food is ok. I asked for the vegetables to be put in a separate container because i didn't want it touching my food and they said it would be 1.25 extra. i didn't want extra or anything just for it to be separated. Thought that was really dumb.

I am Japanese, I often missed Japanese food while I was in the US. I was glad when I found this restaurant. I like their obento style food and that tastes good for me. I kept coming here for dinner. I'd love to come here again next time when I visited MD.

This restaurant is one of my usual stops for lunch. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait, but it's never taken me more than ten minutes to get my food and be on my way again. (Well, let me rephrase that, it took me more than ten minutes exactly once, and that was because the person in front of me had literally ordered for *twenty* people without giving them any advance warning. So I can't really blame the staff for that one.) The food is consistently good, and the portion sizes are ample. I usually get enough that I can make two meals out of it. Their "buy 5 get 1 free" special is a very good deal, and I've made use of it quite a bit. I very much recommend Quickfire if you're looking for a decent meal for a good price.

I ended up eating here because the Chipotle next door was closed and I was not disappointed. Ordered the Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp with fried rice and vegetables for $7.50, it was a lot of food and it came out fast. The food was really tasty, plus I added some sriracha and spicy mayo which can be found by the soda fountain and my taste buds definitely liked that. In a way, the food is kind of comparable to the teriyaki grills at mall food courts but with more choices. Nothing bad about that comparison at all since from time to time I enjoy a quick hibachi meal. Maybe next time that I'm in the area I'll try their sushi as well.

Shes not yelling, its just the way she talks. The manager/owner lady that I think runs this place is actually very nice and polite. She comes across otherwise because she has some hard-ass consonants and she addresses the female customers as "Lady". I think thats awesome and would pull that off if I could. I think she means to say "maam" but I love hearing it and seeing the reactions of people so I wont correct her. So ive been coming to this place about 2 times a week for the past 2 months. For the quick lunch place that it is, I give it 4.5 stars. The chicken is particularly tender. They give you the option of rice (white or fried) or noodles but if you ask for both you will get half of each. The vegetables they have are pretty good. Portions are very adequate and Ive never had more than a 7 minute wait. Im still afraid to try the sushi but for no reason other than its not a "sushi place". It may be great. Very filling and a great value.

So not as good as it used to be. The food has no flavor whatsoever anymore not even a dash of salt. If you don't add any sauces whatsoever it wouldn't even be edible :( My son (who loves his chicken & rice)took a few bites and just couldn't stomach eating anymore of it. Maybe I just came on an off day but even the last time I came a few months ago the food was lacking. I don't know what changed but they need to change it back. The prices are good though, I like the buy 4 or 5 get one free And they offer good selections and combos!! Maybe they switched owners because when they first opened mostly everyone was Asian, now everyone is Hispanic ...so that might be it... I don't know but they need to bring back the flavor!!! So till then I may choose the spot in the mall for quick hibachi over this place, although they don't have salmon :(

  • Antony R.

I actually liked this place because it's affordable and the food is tasty. I like the card where you buy 5 meals get the 6th free. But this afternoon I got so turned off when I seen a little cockroach running on the floor and one that was dead under our table. That's disgusting and who knows what's back there in the kitchen. I Don't even know if I'll return.

I come here with my friends. I love it i dont know why it got bad reviews recently on this buffet. The food is good sushi taste fresh, but only con about it is it's expensive. Update: it kind of fell off out waitress was rude to me and my friend!! And she dared asked for a tip

I was curious about this place since it opened up right next to chipotle. So today I decided to give it a try! I saw they did do take out so I decided to call them ahead of time since I was at work. Well their phone rang and rang and rang I called maybe for like a good 20mins!!! Smh!! I was not liking that! So I said to myself well I'll just go there and order and also find out if their phones work. Well when I go inside the line is long and on top of that there was a long line to wait for your food! Either they are slow it backed up but this was just not good! I ended up leaving and going to chipotle, ugh which I didn't want but since I had to go back to work I had no choice! Very dissapointed in their service! If they are going to say they so take out then they need to PICK UP THEIR PHONE!! Worst service ver! Obviously I gotta come here on a weekend!!

This place is basically a Sarku, a Hibachi fast food restaurant. The double meat is always a good deal. Chinese woned. They do a few things different like having the combinations and what not. It's definitely fast food depending on when you go in and how far along the chicken is cooked. I've been here 3 times. Once the food was ready right when i finished paying. The other 2 times took about 10 minutes. The sauce is pretty good, get some spicy sauce to go with it. You'll smell a bit like the hibachi chicken smell if you eat there.

    (3)
  • Kat G.

The hibachi is alright. Tastes very familiar to Sarku you can purchase at the food court of most malls. I give this place two stars based on the atmosphere. Currently I am seating here eating my food and listening to Latin music play over the speakers. I like Latin music, but not when I'm trying to have Japanese for dinner. Also, this restaurant is not the cleanest. The tables are not wiped down, the soda area is a mess, and their cooking area looks very questionable. The condiments (orange sauce and Sriracha) are all close to empty. I'm pretty disappointed as you can see, but I've purchased my dinner and I have to deal with it. This place would be much better if they fixed these details.

  • Trinh T.

Came here for lunch a couple of times. It was a new concept to me but it's pretty good. I love how they cook the shrimp and chicken but don't ever EVER get the shrimp tempura. It's just an overfried yes I said over fried mess. It's not worth the heart attack full of grease mess they give you. I prefer the rice over the noodles and always get extra sauce.

My sister and I ate at the restaurant, but I'm only going to rate the food. Like others have said, this is a fast food style restaurant. True to it's name, they sure were quick in getting out food to us. The food is served in take out containers and it's a self serve place if you choose to eat in. The only difference is they don't give you a bag to put the food in. They do have a buy 5 Hibachi get 1 hibachi Chicken free deal! Food: Decent food for a quick service Hibachi style place. It's the first Hibachi place I've seen that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to eat at. I got the Pick 2: Beef and Shrimp Hibachi w/ 1/2 Cali Roll. My sister got the Pick 2: Chicken and Beef Hibachi and 1/2 Philly Roll. The beef and chicken was good. the teriyaki sauce was alright, not awesome but good. I got a little bit of shrimp. You get a choice of noodles or fried rice, my sister and I both agreed that the noodles were the better choice. You get more fried rice, but the noodles tasted better with the hibachi than the fried rice.. I The sushi rolls had WAY too much rice and not enough filler. They provide Sriracha sauce and that Asian mustard stuff in bottles by the soda fountain. My food tasted a lot better with it than without it. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.4. Better than a 3, but leaning closer to the 3 than the 4. I'd even pick this place over Chipotle every once in a while.

Surprisingly, the service and food were good today! (I had given up on this place, but decided to give it one last chance.) The cashier, Sulema, was very courteous and spoke perfect English. (And NOT on her phone, unlike one of the other cashiers I'd often encountered.) There was light, contemporary music playing, instead of the typical Mexican music blaring at near painful levels. Even the line staff was courteous and friendly, rather than acting like I was an interruption to their day. All significant changes from my last visit! Hopefully this means the owner fired the previous manager and today's experience is what to expected in the future. If, like me, you were annoyed and gave up on this place, it might be worth trying again. (If the owner reads this, PLEASE keep up THIS type of atmosphere and "quickly fire" anyone who tries to go back to the unprofessional way things were!)

Good quick food, I wouldn't go there for the sushi...

Have been there multiple times for lunch. Food is good, and the employees manning the hibachi are efficient and cheerful, all this for a reasonable price. What's not to like?

  • Samantha S.

This is a really good place if your craving hibachi but don't want to pay Japanese steak house money.... remember this is a fast food restaurant just like chipotle so don't expect a wonderful atmosphere. They play Spanish music I'm sure cause of the workers which really doesn't set the mood for a Japanese restaurant but once you stuffing your face with their awesome hibachi (which isn't really traditional but good none the less) you will forget about the music. They're Sushi is alright but not great I'm sure its purpose is to please the posh type that think its cool. Oh and I highly recommend you use there yum yum sauce (the white stuff) it awesome. Kinda bumped they don't have the Ginger sause but its fast food not a steak house. So over all I would strongly recommend giving them a try.

Fantastici! While pepe's fancy food truck downtown refused to sell me a sandwich without the bread, these delightful folks were happy to give me a hibachi chicken lunch with no rice and no sauce. A huge amount of juicy. Chicken and vegetables, all served witha smile!!! Thank yew!

For those who went earlier and said they didn't like it much try going back again, they have it seems a lot more time to get it "right" My husband and I both had the steak with rice and veggies and it was very hot and tasted great. And for 6 bucks each and only about 5 to 10 minutes very reasonable. Yes it's a fast food place, but they do have outside dining if that's your thing. Both my husband and I plan on going back there. I definitely recommend it, it is a great deal.

  • James A.

I had the pick two with chicken and California roll. The food was a poor version of Sarku Japan. The worst part wasn't the food but the employee at the end on the cooking line who served us the food. He found it necessary to insult my friend. We will not be returning. Ricky's Rice Bowl has better food and better service

    Surprisingly decent and cheap.

The food was nothing special and when crowded this place has a long wait at the grill. For the money there are a lot of better places in Gaithersburg for lunch.

Usually pretty good but sometimes the noodles are gross. Best to go during lunch or dinner time because everything is fresh

New place in town, and they were giving out coupons, so I had to try it. This place is similar to the teriyaki chicken places in the mall. You pick your protein (chicken, beef, shrimp) and it comes with veggies and starch. In the mall all you get is rice, this place has noodles too. Also, this place has some maki rolls. I do not eat sushi, so I can not tell you how they are, I know they have California rolls and Chicken Hibachi rolls in addition to some of the other varieties. Quickfire features a "pick 2" as so many fast casual places do these days, in this one you add $1.50 to your hibachi meal to get half a maki roll (I am assuming 3-4 pieces f sushi). You can also double up on meat/rice/veggies etc for $1 each. There is sriracha and soy sauce for your food, if desired. On to the food... Coupon was buy a meal (in the $6-7.50 range, get a hibachi chicken meal for $2.99. We ordered the beef & shrimp with noodles, and chicken with rice. We wanted to try everything. First off, you get the standard Japanese fast food veggie mix (bok choy, carrots, broccoli). All three proteins were perfectly cooked. The chicken was juicy. The beef was thin sliced and tender, and the shrimp were the perfect texture, which is often NOT the case at fast food/fast casual restaurants. The rice was nothing to write home about, but the noodles were excellent. I would never get the rice again there, not because it is bad but the noodles are so much better. The meals are not huge, but in my opinion are big enough. Too many places these days give out way too much food. In short, the meat is cooked very well. I would recommend the noodles over the rice. This place is good I think, but could benefit from a couple sauce choices or people may tire of it. Also worth noting, right now they only have bottled sodas. I assume they are working on getting a fountain. I wold recommend checking this place out, I plan on coming back every now and again.

Haven't been before and probably won't be back. Now not to be too critical...the food was actually okay. Not great but okay. The problem is there is a much better very similar food experience in the same shopping center. I won't be crass enough to name it here but drive into the lot and you can figure it out. Chicken here is thigh and there its breast. Oversauced here and not so much there. Quality is higher at the other place. This reminds me of mall eatery food.

Very pleasantly surprised! We were looking for a quick meal and just happened upon this. Staff was friendly and food was quite good. We ordered the chicken Hibachi..asked for no rice/noodles but double vegetables. Wow! Huge amount for small price. Vegs were cooked to just the right crispness. Chicken/sauce very flavorful. Nothing fancy-fast food- but I am a fussy eater and really enjoyed the meal. In fact, my husband wanted to go next door to tell people in the perennial line at Chipotle to come on over and see what they were missing. Quick Fire is similar to Sarku (think that's the name) at several local malls....but from this visit, so much better! We definitely intend to return.

  • Dany A.

I truly enjoyed this place every single visit. It is still a fast food place however a refreshing alternative. Do not expect fine exotic dining for 6 bucks a plate but a light different taste than you local chinese place

  • Shirley S.

The staff are very incompetent and could not handle google coupon when I presented it. I asked for the manager and he just ignored the coupon. I got upset and called google and that is the only time that cashier called the boss (over the phone) and asked about the coupon. By the way, I paid for my order initially bec they won't honor the coupon and they only decided to call their boss when they knew I was making phone calls to google. That is not the way to handle a customer. It was a very disappointing visit.
