Finally stopped by to fill up on chinese food. This place is incredibly small-the dining area and buffet area. Everything seemed cramped. The buffet area is only one small island with about 10-12 dishes. Dishes include your normal "americanized chinese" such as fried rice noodles beef brocoli fried chicken egg rolls kung pao chicken orange chicken and a few others. The good: Plenty of food despite the small size. Kitchen is always refilling quickly Cheap (8.50 a box packed!!!) The bad: VERY SMALL. enough said. Some dishes are very oily, and you can tell that they use a lot of msg overall, you come here not for the quality of the food or to try new things, but to feast on your regular chinese food. I will be back!

Not the best... It is a buffet after all.... But it is pretty good... By far worth the price

Best chicken wings in the area. I know people that come down from pg county and baltimore county to eat just the wings. The buffet is small but the selection is tasty and the price can't be beat. Seating is limited.

For a small quick and easy buffet , this place will get the job done. Quantity over quality for sure. Used to come in here and put down plates like a madman.

If yelp gave me the option to review the service & the food in the same review I would give the food 3 stars and the service NONE. The reason I'm giving the service ZERO STARS is because during My last visit there I decided to grab a bottle of ginger ale from the refrigerator next to the counter. The server went to my table and asked me if I would like a cup with ice for my drink and I said sure. Now keep in mind that it is a bottled drink, meaning if I wanted a refill I would have to pay for a whole other bottle of ginger ale (1.75) . So instead of having to buy another bottle of soda I decided to settle for water. When the same server came to clear out the plates on the table i asked her if I could please have a cup of water. She then proceeded to ask me "you want a cup of water"(in very broken English). I said yes and she then angrily turned to go get me a cup of water and returned by slamming it onto the table. Now I have been to restaurants with rude waiters and servers but NEVER have I ever been slammed a cup of water like that. But me and my boyfriend finished our meal went up to pay and the same server then charged my card. As I went to sign the receipt she had the audacity to loudly scream "NO TIP?! YOU CHEAP YOU CHEAP, NEXT TIME NO WATER FOR YOU".... Are you kidding me ?! The only reason I'll ever be back is because my boyfriend seems to like the place for some reason. Canton delight is basically a mini buffet that has all the main Chinese food choices one would normally get at a regular buffet. The food is surprisingly not bad at all. Although some of it kind of too greasy for my liking

A tiny, moderately dingy Chinese American restaurant. Think Chinese take out (9-10 options) buffet style, but in my opinion, slightly worse in flavor and texture. The white rice was pretty dry, the meats are barely warm... it was just tough to enjoy the meal and I felt bad for bringing my very hungry boyfriend here. Food is food, but this place could do a lot better.

Haven't been here in years! They were changing/cleaning the food station when I arrived. After waiting a few minutes for that I was asking the older gentlemen what all the different meats were and he wasn't very pleasant. He was rude when telling me the different foods. When I left he asked me to tip at a buffet...and cursed me in his language lol

Can't beat an all you can eat Chinese buffet for $8!

I love this buffet. The Chinese food is definitely American style. The number of items on the buffet is not the largest, but it is always so tasty. The best deal is to order the take out box and over fill it so the lid barely closes - for only $8 lunch, $9 dinner (after 3pm). My favorite item is the Orange Chicken, but also like the Kung Pow chicken with peanuts. The green beans are also great. I also like that the buffet includes fried chicken and french fries as another option. You may have to wait for an item to be replenished on the buffet, but they are quick to resupply. The atmosphere is NOT why I come here, it is a dive. The service is friendly and quick. It really is like "eating in someone elses home kitchen". I'll be back regularly to load up to satisfy my craving for Chinese food American style.

Being the fried chicken connoisseur I am, I'm always on the lookout for claims about delicious fried chicken. Finally gave in to the curiosity that developed from reading some of the other reviews. I'm about to put the hurting on some fried chicken, ear to ear. Pull up, walk in. Didn't have jumbo chicken wings, all I saw was drumsticks, what a bummer. So I get it to go. Pile on some Chinese food and drumsticks. Might as well check out all of the food since there were no wings. Average, nothing unforgettable. Definitely not the best fried chicken I've had in the area. I wouldn't rank it in the top five places for fried chicken in the area. I wish I could have found the same chicken the other reviewers were going on about, but it wasn't there. Maybe the great reviews about the fried chicken are from the weekday lunch buffet. Maybe it's different cooks on the weekend night shifts. Maybe the other reviewers just have never experienced good fried chicken yet. I will definitely stay with my go to spot for jumbo chicken wings. If anyone else has a recommendation for delicious fried chicken I would like to know where it's served.

Been going here since I was a kid. Can't beat $8 for a decent lunch. Best fried chicken around. I won't go for the atmosphere, but carryout is great.

I gave this place a shot over my usual, I was underwhelmed. I tried the Singapore Show Mei Fun & Shrimp in Garlic Sauce. Both were marked "hot & spicy" neither was, so I was a bit disappointed. I ordered carry out, kind of glad because it did look a bit run down. I have some friends who swear by the buffet though, but you know guys, a huge to go container for $8 ($10 if you can't close it) and they are happy. Not sure I will go back unless something happens usual Chinese take-out place.

This is one of my favorite local spots. Their food is exactly what you're looking for when you want Chinese and their prices make it that much better. They offer a wide range of classic American-Chinese dishes and a fantastic dinner buffet for an unbeatable price. The staff is very enthusiastic and friendly. After only a few orders they remembered me by name. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for solid Chinese food for a good price with less than a 15min wait.

This is a mom and pop Chinese restaurant. The food is well seasoned and the portions are good. The buffet is small, yet I go here for the chicken wings. The price is reasonable. This is not a fancy restaurant and it is an old style restaurant, but if you want good tasting food without emptying your pocket, this is the place to go.

My cousin recommended this place so we came to check it out. The atmosphere is ok but that's not why you come here. The food is so delicious. The food is all you can eat for really cheap and the food is off the hook. They average 8-10 different dishes but they are all Very delicious.

I will give this place five stars because it is definitely a great deal and the food tastes good. It is always hot and the selection is small but adequate (and constantly refilled). I have taken my family there several times when we are not wanting to cook and always come away very full and happy. I will say that the food is not the healthiest stuff out there (but then again, what chinese food is?) and you feel a little greasy when you come away. But there are enough vegetable dishes to allow you to be semi-healthy if you try. This is a great local restaurant and one of my favorite chinese places in the area.

Canton Delight is really one of a kind! From the $7 lunch buffet to the $8 dinner buffet, you cannot go wrong whether you come in with an empty stomach at noon or at night. Yep, I said it right the first time! SEVEN and EIGHT dollar BUFFETS, how can you beat that?! The prices already appear beyond reasonable on paper. But only after you've experienced the superb tastes of their dishes will you truly appreciate the simplicity yet exquisiteness of Chinese carry-out. Let's talk about the setting. The first time I step foot into Canton Delight, I was somewhat skeptical seeing that the place was rather modest in size. The restaurant certainly won't wow you with its aesthetics or ambiance. However, it was clean and sanitary and most definitely one of the cleaner Chinese restaurants I've eaten at. Food-wise, while the looks of the dishes may be conservative, the taste is far from it. At first look, the dishes look just like any other carry-out dish. That quickly changes as soon as one takes a bite of the awe-inspiring orange chicken, scrumptious shrimp platter, or addictive chicken wings (considered a favorite amongst customers). My friend, a lover of chicken, single-handedly puts the owners at risk of bankruptcy each time he makes an appearance at the restaurant with the number of chicken wings he devours in one go. The owners and employees always make me feel like I'm at home with their terrific customer service and overall friendliness. Pros: Price, food, friendly vibe, chicken wings! Cons: Can be crowded at times, assortment of dishes can be higher Highly recommended whether you're from the area or from out of town just visiting. Gourmet-level dishes for carry-out prices. In a nutshell, prices lure the customers but the dishes make us stay.

It's a small place that is super cheap. I usually come here for lunch due to the fact that the food is always fresh and the price is cheap.

Live in the general vicinity and did not know about this place until last month. At first glance this place seems like your average run of the mill fast food joint with generic tasting food. Boy was I wrong. Pros For just $6-8 for a lunch buffet or dinner meal it is absolutely a steal! The food is fresh, hot, and wildly delicious. You cannot beat the distinct fried wings that they have - not quite KFC but it is not salty and is very addictive. They've got your noodles, assortment of rice, general tsao's chicken and beef plus veggies. The owners and their family are extremely nice and very accommodating. Cons - One day it could be peaceful and the next completely packed with lines forming outside. - Entire selection of food is damn good but missing a few gamewinners (seafood dishes) - Cheap and good eats so it will draw crowds from all "origins". Some random people were a bit unruly and uncouth; such as digging their noses and farting exceptionally loud in broad daylight. Overall Amazing place to enjoy a cheap yet tasty feast. Bring your friends and family - but if your group is more than 4... beware... there will not be enough seats and you will wait for a long time.

Decided to check this place out during lunch time. It's mostly Americanized Chinese food, so if that's what you are looking for, it's decent. They also have a buffet, which I haven't tried, but it was small, and nothing spectacular. It wasn't busy when I went there, but it was a small little place. The food was okay, it did really fill me up, but it also put me nearly to sleep. I've had better Chinese carryout, but this was okay.

I've been holding off from writing this review because at times, they get so busy that I have to wait for a table and should keep this place a secret but they deserve a better rating than the one the previous review gave them. I've been eating here for many years now and the current owners got it right. The rating I gave is for the food quality and value. I can tell from the food on the buffet that they have a talented chef there and they do a busy carry-out. I always get the buffet though. So how come 5 stars for such a small buffet? This place is so popular that they refill items every 5-10 minutes and you can tell that they cook items to order. The food is hot, fresh, tasty, and plentiful. My favorites are their jumbo fried chicken wings, beef and brocolli, and string beans. Yes, it's Americanized Chinese so there's also General Tso's chicken, fried rice, kung pao chicken, and sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, soups, etc. If you know Chinese cooking, then you can taste the cooking wine in the chicken meat in the kung pao, the string beans are done correctly, tender yet snappy, with hints of fresh garlic. You can taste the pride and effort that the chef puts into the food. It's the best deal going. I've seen the small buffet table feed over 100 people an hour counting carry-out. It's funny watching people trying to close the lid after putting 5 lbs. of food in the carry-out containers. If you're looking for the best deal around and hot, fresh, all you can eat Chinese food, give it a try. The wings alone are worth the cost of the buffet IMHO. I'm heading there now for dinner.

My dad is your typical Chinese restaurant chef and I grew up with parents that ran the restaurant business. My hobby is finding great cheap eats where ever I go... hole-in-the-walls are more comfortable to me than ambience with mediocre flavor. If you're comparing this with P.F Chang's your going to be disappointed (as far as ambiance). If you are looking for authentic Chinese food (like what a Chinese native would eat at home) your NOT going to find it here, except maybe the "Chow fun" noodle dish. If you're looking for Authentic go to "A & J Restaurant" or "Joe's Noodle House" in Rockville, MD. BUT if you are looking for your typical "General Tso's" and "Sesame Chicken" then this place has great flavor. I've come here for years. GET THEIR combo for Carry-out... a few years ago it was around $5 (but I think they raised it a bit). You'll get a generous portion with Fried rice and an egg roll (that I sub for soup instead). I heart their Triple Delight (Shrimp, Beef, Chicken, Pork with veggies in a brown sauce). I also LOVE their Fried Chicken (appetizer) it's the best Fried Chicken around town... really, try it. Their lo mein is also yummy, not the best but yummy. All Chinese restaurants that serve this type of menu are greasy b/c the way they make the "General Tso's" or "Sesame Chicken" or "Sweet and Sour Chicken" or "Lemon Chicken" is by deep frying it first and then adding the sauce. If you don't want grease get a salad. Overall great Carry-out place, not great for dining in (for reasons that "Nicole P" mentioned in her review.)

This place really isn't all that bad. The Chinese food here is pretty greasy but no more so than all the other Chinese places. The place is a bit cramped, and there is only a selection of about 5 dishes, rice, chicken wings, and lo mein, but again, for the price $7-8 (lunch-dinner) it isn't fair to expect much more from an all you can eat.

It kind of reminded me of a cafeteria/jiffy lube waiting area. When I first walked in for lunch. It's pretty much seat yourself, if you can find a seat. The booths are like 1970s deli style. Really old looking. The 'dining room,' is tiny and cramped. The buffet was extremely small. You know the size of one of those buffet tables at old country buffet? Think of one about a third of that size. And only ONE. The selection was poor. However, the buffet was only $6, which of course as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for. Now, most of the Chinese buffets that I've seen charge by weight, however, this place charged $6 for the box. However much you could fit in it. Unless you were unable to close the box. Then they charge you an extra $2. The food itself was like your average crappy corner Chinese place. Greasy. Lots of breading. And just... well, crappy.

What you pay is what you get this place offers a pretty minature chinese buffet which can either be carried out or ate at the restaurant. Best time to go even though it is busy is lunch time because that's when the food is the freshest possible.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
