Great place, great coffee , great eats and very comfortable. The staff is super friendly! Will always stop here when I'm in the neighborhood....and it's in a beautiful old stone building where they used to make memorial monuments...what's not to like?

Opens at 7:30 am. That's a nice time if you're the one running the coffee shop. If you don't work on Main Street it's often a bit late to get a cup and get to work early. The help is nice but the coffee is average.

Great little coffee shop. My family has lived up here for years I can't believe I ever missed such a great spot. I got the sausage egg and cheese on an organic whole wheat bagel and if you are used to dunkin doughnuts I promise you this is better. My little cousin got the plain bagel with cream cheese he's describes it as "excellent". I love that they have healthy options for vegans and organic bagels. Very good customer service friendly. Last two notes free wifi!!!!!! CLOSED ON MONDAYS ! Don't make they same mistake I did of showing up only to be disappointed .

Delicious. ..great for a light lunch away from the FSU cafeteria scene. Love that I can get breakfast at 1 pm. Will definitely be back with my daughter soon.

A good place to grab a coffee and a light lunch with friends. The ham and cheese on a pretzel roll is my favorite!

Fun little coffee shop in Frostburg and the only of its kind in town. I like the white chocolate latte, and the muffins are locally baked. Service is friendly and fast, and prices are average. There's off-street parking in the back - easier if Main Street is packed. Late weekend opening at 9 a.m.

Great place to stop for a sandwich, smoothie, ice cream, cup of tea, and coffee, of course. Free wifi, lots of seating - outdoors, too. Nothing to complain about except I wish they stayed open later. No coffee shop anywhere in Allegany County open after dinner....just not right!

Came here with no expectations, went away absolutely satisfied. A delightful cafe, nice place to stop, owner was happy to point options she could do vegan. Three vegan milk option, tasty coffy, fairly priced.

If you're doing the scenic railroad tour this place is just what you're looking for! Be sure to get off the train and head straight to the creamery because they get crowded fast and the line gets long. You can enjoy the scenery around the train after you've eaten an are on the way back to the train. Great baked goods, sandwiches, coffee, and ice cream. Again, once you get off the train immediately climb the stairs an pass everyone taking their sweet time, they'll be the ones waiting in line for food as you enjoy fast service and plenty of time to take in Frostburg after you've eaten.

This is my favorite place to be in Frostburg. The hot or cold drinks never disappoint, the food is always mouthwatering, and the employees are always doing their best to deliver your goods as fast as possible. I will truly miss this place when I graduate!

I keep trying and trying again to enjoy Mtn City but it continuously disappoints me. As a vegan in Frostburg, there aren't many options. Mtn City tries to give options but I have not liked a single thing that I have eaten there. They often mess up my order by not removing dairy elements, and today when I ordered a tempeh burrito, I got back to my office and it had no tempeh in it. That is not worth $8. I find this to be very frustrating. I know the owner is a lovely woman, and the atmosphere is nice, but they really need to work harder on their culinary skills.

Cruising along Interstate I-68 eastbound - It was time for a coffee break and I knew that there had to be some place in Frostburg, MD to get caffeine here - after all, I reasoned, there is a College/University here, and college students are notorious for their copious caffeine needs! Used the Yelp iPhone app to find Mountain City Coffeehouse and parked curbside. Building is really cool and old looking! I felt like I was approaching the entrance to a monastery or some other mystical place! Coffee is Green Mountain Coffee - I had what is called "Summer Safari" blend: greenmountaincoffee.com/… If I lived in the area - or had to spend time in Frostburg, I would definitely hang out here!

I thought the ambiance of this place was pretty cool especially from the outside. The inside seems more like a cafe feel than a coffee shop. I came here only for some caffeine so i didn't pay attention to the food. I saw that the prices for a simple sandwich seemed a little high for the look of the place but the coffee prices were about normal. I tried the Pumpkin Streudal latte which was decent but not something I would crave to come back here for. I hate to say it but I think I will stick with the Starbucks Pumpkin Latte. I also don't understand the use of Creamery in the title. i asked the lady behind the counter if they had their own dairy products which she said they didn't but they used the term creamery because a lot of coffee shops do that. This must be an east coast thing because I don't know of any places in Ohio that do that without having some dairy products of their own. Seems a little odd to me. They carry Green Mountain Coffee here and seem to be somewhat friendly. I think it would be a nice place to sit outside on a nice day and sip coffee and talk to a friend as it is right in town and has a good vibe on the outside.

This is a cute place for a quite hangout with friends. The food is good. My issues are that the sandwiches are huge but they only provide a modest, child's handful of multi-colored potato chips, and they close at 4pm and not open at all on Mondays.

Not bad. Certainly a very welcome stop after a cold uphill ride on the GAP trail from Cumberland (and it's more uphill from the trail to the main street and the coffeehouse). Parts of this were real good - like the "harvest breakfast cookie" (it alone was 5 stars). Wifey really enjoyed her grilled veggie panini (though I didn't like it so much). On the other hands, parts were just ok. The coffee was standard Green Mountain stuff, and it must have been sitting in the airpot for quite awhile, because it was only modestly warm (by comparison, I was frozen, so who knows, the coffee might have been room temp).

Stopped on our way back east from Deep Creek Lake. Very nice breakfast sandwiches and waffle. Staff was very nice and downtown Frostburg was relaxing on a Sunday morning. Will be eating there again when we pass through.

This place is great! I remember it having slightly odd hours though. Their grilled panini sandwiches are awesome!

I love this cafe! They have wireless internet access, great coffee, and lots of vegetarian and vegan options, (which is rare to find in this area). I highly recommend them!

Be prepared to feel crowded if you're here at lunchtime on one of the days that the Western Maryland Railroad runs...lots of daytrippers crowding into this not-particularly-large cafe. My panini was pretty good, tea was tea (although strange selection - mostly green and pomegranate, very little variety), but the best thing was the ice cream! They had about 6 flavors to choose from, including pumpkin, which was very tasty.

Wonderful ambiance and really pretty building. Loved the photography, artwork, and poetry displayed. Happy to have somewhere to go that had veggie options and soy milk, as both can be hard to find in this area.

Has a cool atmosphere located in an old stone monument shop. Just had the flavored latte and a ham, egg and cheese croissant. Price on par with usual. A bit too much espresso than what I am used to and couldn't taste flavored syrup. Ice cream was goodl. Went back the next day and asked for a single shot and it was better. One of the interesting things that happened to me was that I walked up to the counter, and a local patron stepped up after me. The person behind the counter looked right over me and spoke the other guy's name and asked him what he wanted. It took 3-4 minutes for him to get his order and "then" it was my turn. Just after that my wife walked in to a flower shop down the street and the exact same thing happened to her. IMHO the person behind the counter should ALWAYS ask if they are not sure who should go next. They are closed on Mondays.

We rode the train up from Cumberland and came in sweaty and covered in coal soot and dust...we were seated outside and it was a nice and relaxing lunch. I had a BLT and I'll say while it tasted fine (kinda hard to mess up a BLT) it was the SMALLEST MOST MEASLY sandwich I've ever had. When they brought that out, I literally thought it was a joke.

Don't ever support this shop! The ice cream that everyone loves doesn't have anything to do with this place. The ice cream comes from lakeside creamery in mchenry on deep creek lake. She buys it from them and resells it. The food is way overpriced and the owner steals the tips from the girls who work there. She takes them for herself and then 'compensates' the girls by paying them a dollar less than minimum wage and then gives them a dollar a hour in 'tips' when in fact the tip jar supports more than that. Do yourself a favor and go to cool beans down the street. The staff is friendly and the prices are more reasonable. Don't support bad business owners. This is a prime example of one.

I'm a coffee purist and usually don't like coffee drinks, but Mountain City's aren't intrusive or gaudy. I can never choose a breakfast option because they all are delicious; Mountain City introduced me to the idea of tomatoes on bagels and I am forever indebted. Paninis are expensive but reliable lunch option; the clientele are always colorful and the paper is always on the ready.
