Not only does Chris make the best pepperoni rolls in the state he also makes fantastic breakfast burrito, lunch sandwiches and dinner pizza. Make sure to BYOB or try his fantastic smoothies.

It's been nearly 3 weeks since my first visit to WSC... but I'm STILL craving a breakfast burrito from this place! I found it on yelp and saw that the reviews were exceptional so I was excited to try it out and see if it was worth the fuss. Indoors, it was empty save for Chris (the owner), who greeted my fiancé and I. He informed us that his shipment from Boar's Head didn't make it in so he didn't have any meats, which was fine by me because I'm a vegetarian. I had a veggie breakfast burrito sans peppers and he whipped us up some iced coffees. It was simple, delicious, and inexpensive. That was my first-ever breakfast burrito and it was nothing short of amazing. Chris was super nice and so was the pup they've got hanging out at the place. Can't wait to go back. Ah, if only I lived closer.

We made the trip over to Water Street Cafe from the Deep Creek Lake area after reading all the great reviews. We were not disappointed! The smoothies, breakfast burrito, and chicken salad wrap were delicious and very reasonably priced. The highlight of the visit was getting to meet Chris, the owner, who was extremely friendly and gave us lots of info on things to do and see in the area. We'll definitely be back if we are in the area again!

Gem of a place! My wife and I and our 3 kids came here based on the Yelp reviews. I totally agree with the reviews. We were made to feel like instant friends by the owner Chris. Food was fabulous and the atmosphere was perfect. We regularly come to Deep Creek Lake and will definitely go back to Friendsville and the WSC when we are here.

Driving back from Ohio to Virginia for training with a co worker we found this on yelp. First impression I thought we'd be treated like outsiders. I'm happy to say that didn't happen at all. Owner was extremely friendly as well as everyone there. Small town atmosphere was great. Store next door sold beer and it was actually really cheap. Deff the place to go.

Awesome spot! Its like 100feet off of 68 so its easy to get too from the road and its sooo easy to get back on the highway too. Great food, its on the river, the owner is awesome and so is fluffy (his dog). There is also a hotel within walking distance!

Best breakfast burrito of my life, and I'm from Southern California! Seems too good to be true, but there it is. Great little shop, awesome art and locals. Stay next door at the fantastic little inn, get some delicious breakfast here, and roll out into the beautiful country. Very inexpensive.

Awesome little place, great food, surprisingly low prices. The staff is very friendly, and it's a great place to meet the locals and ask about what happens around the town--although that isn't much. Breakfast here is a great way to start your day.

Chris, the owner, is a one man show serving very tasty food such as chili, beef stroganoff, breakfasts, and pizza. The beef was top notch and my buddy rated it one of the better stroganoff dishes he's had. The building is nostalgic and is next to a river. In summer they must be busy feeding trout fisherman.

Water Street cafe is a Friendsville institution worth taking a detour off the highway. Chris's pepperoni rolls are the best around!

Stopped for a great meal before our trail relay at Big Bear Lake. Chris, the owner, made us feel at home and us prepared a wonderful hand tossed pizza. If you're looking for a charming small town gem, you've found one here! Highly recommend a stop here.

We were in town to ski at Wisp and had to try this place. They're normally not open on Mondays, but we lucked out because of the holiday and boy were we glad that they did. The breakfast burrito was AMAZING. I've never had one so tasty and having the tortilla toasted is what won it over for me. It all was very fresh. Chris was so friendly, as well as his pup. The decor was nice and eclectic without being gaudy. We're going to be making this one of our regular stops from now on anytime we head this way. Thanks!!!

Awesome place! It's like going to your brothers house for a meal - except in this case your brother is a great cook! Recommend the breakfast sandwich -- soooo good! Beautiful river view and you can pet the owner's dog, Fluffy. Bonus!

An awesome stop while on a motorcycle ride! Had a breakfast burrito, chocolate chip muffin and a coffee. Incredible slice of Americana! Friendly people, informal and good food... What else do you need?

Pepperoni rolls! Pepperoni rolls! The owner and chef, Chris, is a cool dude. Great place too hang out, especially after a day on the river.

We traveled from the lake to try WSC out based on Yelp reviews. This is a very cool place along the Youghiogheny River. Its in an old building with old furnishings. The owner is very friendly and we were also greeted by a very laid back friendly dog. The ambience is great. The food is average. Sorry to disappoint but we went here based on other Yelp reviews so I felt obligated to post our experience. I would assume the eggs for the burritos were made earlier because when the burrito was given to us pretty much right from the oven, the wrap was very hot but once we took a bite, the eggs were cold-like refrigerator cold. The menu is also just burritos so I wouldn't recommend bringing young kids or picky eaters.

Fantastic food and great prices!! If you're anywhere near Friendsville, say traveling on your way to Deep Creek, you MUST stop here. The owner, Chris, is very friendly, a great cook and a wealth of local knowledge. We found the cafe on Yelp and called to find out what time they served breakfast until. The owner responded, "I think I've got some eggs, come on over." While I know that's not the standard answer you would expect, I appreciated the authenticity. The breakfast burrito was PHENOMENAL and we ended up staying 3 or 4 hours chit-chatting with Chris and other locals. We had planned for a quick breakfast, but ended up getting soup, lunch and dessert as well. Everything here will be delicious - the pepperoni rolls are a crowd favorite. If you're looking for a place to unwind, the coffee is fresh and there are giant windows that look out at the river.

Chris is always awesome along with his breakfast burritos! Great food, atmosphere and doggie friendly.

This is such a great place! Be patient it's a small cafe but I promise it's worth the wait! Everything is made fresh to order and the view is beautiful! We had the breakfast burrito, pepperoni roll, spinach and feta roll and the grilled cheese. First time in a long time that I have had a breakfast burrito where the insides were all cooked perfect and not one part of it was soggy and it was perfectly toasted. The three little pigs is the burrito we tried, so yum!

I had a great breakfast here. The food was great. The owner, Chris, was very welcoming and helpful too. The view of the river and the slow pace is beautiful. Chris actually called the owner, Roger, of the local white water rafting company, Precision Rafting, and I went on a spectacular 4 hour rafting trip... right then right there! A great day. Thanks to all involved with that.

Great place for a relaxing breakfast, lunch or snack. Since we live in the area, we are able to stop in as we desire and Chris is always friendly and upbeat. We have tried various items and all have been delicious. Try a smoothie for something cold and refreshing.

I wandered into WSC looking to relax and get a little work done while my son and friend rafted. What a great decision! The coffee was great, the hot Italian wrap was so good I brought the rest of my gang back the next day to try it and Chris felt like an old friend after just one visit. Can't wait to get back to Friendsville.

My family was vacationing at Deep Creek and we Yelped for best breakfast option and WSC came up with the high rating. So we decided to venture out and we were not disappointed. We all had the breakfast burrito with different options ranging from all veggies to all meat. Even my pickiest 8 year old who has never had a burrito before loved his 3 Lil Pig burrito. If he has no complaints, we have no complaints. Burritos are simple yet very tasty.

Great food and conversation with Chris, the owner. Definitely stop here if your plans call for travel on I-68 in Western, MD. You will certainly not be disappointed. Be sure to say Hi to Fluffy, the dog.
