I have a soft spot for Roy Rogers. It isn't the best food. It isn't food that is good for me...not a huge fast food person but if I had to choose a fast food restaurant it would probably be Roy Rogers. Why? I wonder if it is because they are few and far between. Maybe it is the barbeque sauce there?? So unique I haven't had anything like it although husband despises the barbeque sauce. I love the fancy coke machines that they have and getting to add flavors of my choice into my soda. So what isn't to love???

Roast beef is extremely supreme compared to Arby's which resembles plastic. Usually excellent other than the few times you get the end in one big lump rather than slices. Coming here for 15+ years I've only been disappointed a few times. Only reason for the 4 star is all the free money they have gotten from me shorting me in the drive thru.

I can remember when there was a Roy Rogers almost every where! Now I have to drive MILES to get to one. My faves: Double R Bar burger and fried chicken wings! I must get both whenever I go - no telling when I'll return so the visit must be worth my while. Noooooooooooo, I dont eat both "meals" at once. I usually save one for the next day.

This Roy Rogers is the one closest to where I live and I visit them pretty frequently so this review is based on this. Tonight was the 3rd time in a row that I have asked for cheese on my roast beef sandwich and have paid for it and not received. This time I checked the sandwich before taking off and asked them promptly to fix it. The iced tea they gave me was rancid like it was sitting there all day. I gave it back since the only thing I will drink from them. Again, paid for something I did not receive. See a pattern? Drive thru guy asked me if I wanted sauce, I said yes, barbecue. Checked the bag when I got home, none found. The roast beef sandwich was overcooked and dry as a bone, the bun was stale and dry as well. The fries were white and undercooked. When I was parked waiting for them to fix the sandwich, that was the moment for Roy Rogers to send out a manager to help ease the situation when a problem arises. Of course they didn't. I have really had it with this place. Stay clear.

What can I say about Roy Rogers? Should I talk about the Roast Beef Sandwiches that compete very well against Arby's? Should I talk about the juicy hamburgers that are big enough to make you feel like you've ordered a real hamburger? Or should I talk about the crispy fried chicken, strawberry shortcake dessert made with mashed up biscuits, Fixin's bar, or a holster of french fries that you can actually wear?! Let's just say that we never let a drive through Frederick go to waste without stopping by a Roy Rogers.

I must say that my experience at this particular Roy Rogers was less than satisfying, to say the least! My mom and I were on the way home from Pittsburgh, PA and happened to stop there. My mom got a 3 peice chicken meal and, in an attempt to eat healthy, I ordered the Caesar salad. Then I decided to add chicken At first the salad looked pretty decent except for the chicken looked kind of bland. There seemed to be no seasoning, as of they just boiled and cut it up. I thought I was just being picky so I took my first few bites of the end peices which seemed to be fine. Then I picked a peice closer to the center and lo and Behold... IT WAS COMPLETELY RAW ON THE INSIDE. I proceeded to spit out the peice I had in my mouth and jumped on my phone to write this review. So, pretty much my advice is, DONT GET THE SALAD. My mom let me split her chicken tenders with her and they were ok. Still I'm never going back there!!
