Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Great food prepared right in front of you! I usually only order the Greek wrap cuz it's my fave.

I give their pizza 3.5 stars. Their pizza reminds me of Three Brother's pizza. Fast service and their prices are reasonable. Plus, their restaurant is only 2 minutes away from my house... How convenient! :)

We got pizza and a sub from here right after we moved to the area and were not in the least bit impressed. That was easily a year ago so I figured it was time to try again. Unfortunately, our opinion stayed about the same. We ordered a few subs and chicken with fries for the kiddo. My husband got the sausage parmigiana which wasn't terrible and my mom got the deluxe Philly cheesesteak which was also okay. The bread got way too soggy too fast so not the best food for take out it seems. The chicken and fries was the best part really. Now, for my sub...I saw on their menu they had a prosciutto and mozzarella sub which sounded great. When ordering, the girl on the phone sounded confused by this. I should have taken that as a sign and changed the order because that was the grossest sub I have ever had. Both the prosciutto and mozzarella were weird colors and consistency. I'm not even sure it was actually prosciutto. Maybe it's not a menu item anymore? I wish they would have just said so if that was the case. Yucky. So yeah, some food is okay taste wise but none of it was really worth the price, in my opinion. Maybe we'll try other menu items next year...or not.

First time trying Pizza Blitz or at least first time I can think of ordering one from here. Can't speak I as whether or not I've had them at work which I likely have. Stopped inside to order the one topping large for $7.99 and feeling lucky I added bacon as my tipping rather than going for my straight cheese as I normally do for a first review. Classy Italian style decor inside the building. Was a little busy so it took a few minutes to get my order in. Sadly they do offer refired pizza slices. You know the pies begin the glass with a slice or two missing. I won't even try to order a slice that's already been cooked once, put on display and the reheated a second time. Anycase, the pizza survived the 20 minute ride and and was hot. For the price, the pizza was not a bad deal, maybe one of the best in the area. However, with that said, the pizza was half decent overall. The cheese was pretty much bagged from mass-outlets. The sauce was a tad watery, but overall wasn't bad. The crust was cooked well and I have no complaints. I wouldn't pay $13 or $14 bucks for this pizza, but at $7.99, I wouldn't bark too much, and considering it's competition, Lakeside pizza is worse, this is the chocie for pizza in the Old Farm, and far north-western end of the city.

I've been going here mainly out of convenience. It's okay pizza but you can't go wrong on Pizza Monday with 8 dollar larges. Wings are bad, fries are beyond bad, mozzarella caprese is good, salads are mediocre at best (a bunch of lettuce with piles of meat), and mozzarella sticks are average. There has to be better placed in Frederick but I'm lazy.

Love their NY style pizza, cheesesteak, and their pasta dishes are decent too. Eat in or carry out. They even have some outside seating. My only complaint is I wish they offered delivery.

  • Fernando F.

Decent thin crust pie. Crust is passable, cheese is good, pepperoni was a bit scarce, sauce is good but doesn't reach out and grab you or anything. Staff was very friendly and personable. I like the place. Not sure what some ppl expect- it's in a strip mall for pete's sake. It's a pizzeria. I like pizzarias.

FAST SERVICE to go! (+++) Meat lovers pizza, thin crust (++) Standard greek salad (+) Fried calamari; they give you alot! (+) White pizza (-) very very busy and crowded during lunch, because it's right outside the Fort Detrick gate Call at least 15 minutes in advance, if you can. Outside seating available on nice days!

This place is the bomb for a quick bite! The cheese pizza is excellent!! Simple, perfect blend of cheese, sauce and crust - and always so hot. The steak and cheese subs are off the wall as well. Oh and did I mention they keep the ketchup refrigerated!!??? That's right! We loved the Westview location, but love the staff and food much more...so the drive to Motter Ave. is worth it. Oh, and I forgot the best part - Soccer on the TV! GOOOOOOAAAAALL!!!!

I tried this place out again a few times after my first review. I'm not sure if it was the time of day that had something to do with it or not but I was pleased with my later visits. The veggie stomboli is delish. I think its not such a bad place to stop in for a quick bite at lunch or dinnertime.

They do a good pizza and a GREAT calzone. We really like their pavarotti chicken salad. Decent pasta dishes and good garlic bread. Great prices and if you call for take out the food is always ready quickly (I don't think I've ever waited, it's always ready when I get there ~10-15 min).

  • Deejai B.

Good dependable NY style pizza for about $3 a slice (for cheese). Walk straight up to the counter - choose what you'd like, they pop it in the oven and you're off in just a few minutes. Large cheese pizza is only $10 - great value. Specials are posted on a chalkboard at the counter. They also do calzones and other southern italian food like pastas, etc. - and a great variety of chicken, veal and seafood dishes. This location (in the Bloom plaza across from Ft. Detrick) is small but they do have several tables - it can get quite busy at times with families.

I stopped going to this pizza place years ago as I found their customer service was horrible. Their pizza was bit messy. They did not comply to what I wanted in my order with entre including broccoli. I still will not go back no matter how many five stars I have seen to date.

The name Pizza Blitz in misleading, it is so much more than a pizza joint. Pizza Blitz borders on being an Italian Restaurant. Food is outstanding, (especially it's pizza) everything from steak subs to traditional Italian fare. It doesn't get much better than this for quick food.

  • Sarah C.

Great pizza. Great fries. Even better baked ziti!

  • Maria L.

Ugh. This place is disgusting. It has that "dirty, old restaurant smell" and on top of that smell, I could smell the roach treatment. All that to say, it was too late to run out after I ordered (because you pay at the counter), so I stayed and tried to eat my shrimp parmesan (three tiny shrimp on a small bed of pasta with American-style dinner rolls), but I started to feel sick because of the smell of the roach spray. My stomach is still queasy.

Fast food pizza joint. What's good: pizza, steak and cheese sub, fries, bruschetta. I never get the specials-my husband likes them. Do not serve beer or wine, but we are able totake in a bottle of wine and two glasses. Fun, cheap, easy.

Great place to grab a great slice of pizza!!! Wow, the pizza slices are huge and delicious. I go here for lunch and have the chicken pesto pizza. No bar or anything, but great food!!! Great prices
