I'm originally from Frederick but I now live in Baltimore and I stop in here every time I'm back in Frederick. First, it's one of the only places where I can find some good goat cheese at a decent price. (Not the creamy log, the real stuff!) Second, it's the only place I can find a baguette that actually comes close to a French baguette. Third, they have a TON of awesome specialty items from the region. I can always find a gift for someone in here!

I got all my stocking stuffers here. This place is awesome, filled with nice products, a lot of them from local businesses. If I lived near here I'd be in this place constantly.

Firestone's is a very good place to go for a pleasant meal in a pleasant environment. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Delicious pastries! Their croissants are the best I've ever tried. Very flaky and buttery. Loved them so much that my husband picked up all the rest they had before we left town. I still have one in my freezer that I'm saving b/c I live 2 1/2 hrs from Frederick and cannot go pick one up easily. Can't wait to get back to Frederick and get more and try some other treats

Working my way though their sandwich menu. Pastrami is outstanding and the BLT awesome! Tha shelves are stocked with great wines, craft beers, cheeses, charcuterie, olive oils and just about anything your foodie heart desires. If only they had a counter with a couple of stools :-)

Perfect place to put together an impromptu picnic (assuming you like cheese, pate, bread and chocolate...and if you don't, what's wrong with you?!?!?). A little pricey, but it's a gourmet chi-chi market, so what do you expect? No Chef Boyardi here!

Whenever I am living in Frederick, I absolutely rely on this place for lunches and snacks. They have an excellent selection of soda, snacks, spreads, cheese, and gourmet ice cream. However, what consistently grabs my attention the most are the sandwiches. Located by the counter, they have a wide variety of freshly prepared sandwiches that are the perfect size and exploding with flavor. I have never been a fan of super huge sandwiches, or super-huge lunch in general (if you are, I would suggest the italian market near the church street parking garage), so this place is perfect if you're looking for a light bite. It's not too far of a walk to Baker park, so grab some goodies and head over to a swing set for a fun lunch!

There's a little bit of everything gourmet in this market. It houses a ridiculously eclectic, amazing assortment of items from gift baskets to artisanal cheeses to greeting cards and even one of those indoor herb gardens that you see in SkyMall magazine all the time. My favorite section of the shop is in the far back corner, which contains a wall of shelving that has delicious-sounding jams, obscure brands of olive oils (I saw a gorgeous bottle of grapeseed oil that I was so tempted to purchase), and a small selection of aceto balsamico, one of my latest culinary pleasures! Although they weren't cheap (with items ranging from roughly $12 for a small bottle of olive oil to around $30 for a bottle of balsamic), they were definitely items that I haven't encountered anywhere else. This seems like the perfect stop if you're heading to a party (say, a housewarming, for example) and need a quick and easy gift fix. Recipients of anything from here are sure to be delighted and impressed!

This place may be a small market, but it is packed full of goodness! I was especially impressed that their 10 or so cheese types included most of my favorite kinds.

I love Firestone's Market! This is a great little market that provides all kinds of unique items at an affordable price. Not only that, you can find wonderful everyday wines and beer at a very affordable price. I make a stop almost weekly to grab some fresh bread, scrumptious cheese or yummy chocolate. They also have wonderful ideas for gifts including beautiful baskets, I received one for my wedding shower and it was one of my favorite gifts from our family. And the greatest thing about this little gem is that Firestone's Market staff is always friendly and helpful.

I usually stop by this shop at least twice a month. After buying a bottle of wine from Viniferous, my husband and I usually walk down a block to pick out some fabulous cheese (mmm Manchego and fresh goat cheese for example). While expensive, this gourmet shop is so convenient to have downtown. Yes, Common Market has a much better selection of cheese, but for those of us who prefer to not get in our car each time we have a craving, this place does the trick. They also have fresh bread, some fruits/veggies, olive oil, jam, fancy crackers, etc. Everything needed for a wine/cheese night. Best part is after you have your wine from Viniferous and cheese from Firestone's Market, you can stop next door and get your chocolate from Zoes. Isn't it lovely living in downtown Frederick?

I live in Los Angeles and needed to have a gift basket delivered to my family locally so I went with Firestone's Market. I had a great experience with Gillian. She helped me design a Wine Basket and it turned out great. Not being there in person I was a little hesitant but she was amazing. The basket turned out great. Can't wait to visit this place when I'm on the east coast. I would give it 10 stars from the service alone.

Always a great place to grab a quick bite, a last minute gift, or wine and mead for dinner!

Very cute market, with a ton of variety. They carry Firestone's brand soups and sauces, as well as Stonewall brand items and a ton of other unique brands. But the reason I'll be back has nothing to do with what's on their shelves. It's because for $8 you can get a MASSIVE sandwich on ciabatta bread, and the options include a pastrami as well as a pork sandwich... definitely worth trying sometime SOON.

Great sandwiches. Nice everyday wine and beer selection. They have the best baguettes in Frederick and a good assortment of other gourmet items.

On a recent weekend visit to Frederick, we wandered around the restaurants, looking to sit outside and grab a quick, healthy bite to eat since the weather was gorgeous. Unfortunately, many of the restaurants in downtown Fredericksburg had boring, uninspired menus and were all a little more than we wanted to spend for a burger and some fries. Thankfully, we found this market -- it's a great place to stock up for a nice picnic in nearby Baker Park (located just 3 or 4 blocks away) with lovely varieties of cheeses, chutneys, jams, and crackers. But the real winners are the sandwiches -- we opted for the hoisin bbq pork sandwich and the mango argula with creme fraiche wrap. Both were delicious and made fresh to order, not to mention affordable. This market is such a gem and we were really happy not to have suffered mediocre Tex Mex or "new American" on such a nice day.

Firestone's market has various items you can put together for a gift-basket or just for yourself. From gourmet candies, coffee, cheese and wines to Freshly made Olive oil. If you like olive oil and want a freshly squeezed one, Stop by at Firestone's market. Isn't this awesome? You can taste olive oil from the barrel before you purchase it. When you need to get something for special occasion, I suggest you stop by Firestone's market.

Superb sandwiches and other goodies. Took Gilly's recommendation on the pastrami on my first visit, and let me tell you, I see why its a winner. HUGE!!! Crafted with care and oh so delicious. I most recently had the half soup/half sammich combo w/the chix salad and soup of the day (corn bisque?). Both were amazing and a heck of a deal. The ingredients are super fresh, and the portions were generous. Also, as odd as it might seem, I like that they put a little fresh cracked salt and pepper on the sandwich. On a nice tomato, fresh cracked salt and pepper go a long way. Call me crazy. Pick up some goodies for a loved one when you stop in for lunch or a quick bite.

I was really disappointed with their sandwiches. They sound great on paper but it turns out they're not very tasty. I ordered the pastrami for myself and the pulled pork sandwich for the bf. The pastrami is served as a giant, thick cut slab instead of the deli slices I was expecting. Besides that, it was decidedly bland. JV said the same thing about his sandwich. The market has a pretty ordinary selection though I guess the items could be tough to find in Frederick. I will say the wine selection seemed interesting. There's a very small selection of fish in the cooler and baked goods like bread and croissants up front. That reminds me, I once had a bacon donut here that was great but I've never seen it again. Anyway, the store is worth a browse but eat elsewhere.

This was a small, interesting, original store in the heart of old town Frederick. They have a small but interesting selection of wines, craft beer, and cheeses. They also offer quality food items such as jams, spread, sauces, salsas, and snacks.

I really want to like this place but it's so hard to. First off the selection of cheeses and dairy is great but a bit more expensive than you'd find them at giant or wegmans. The sandwiches are a different story; for the price they charge they should be a lot better than they are. I've heard a lot of hype about the pastrami, but when I first had it I was surprised at how objectively bad it was. They managed to find both beef and cheese with no flavor and put it on weakly toasted white bread. The other sandwiches are better but still not worth the $8 price tag- the pimento grilled cheese should sell for no more than $4. The service is always less than friendly and usually try to find new and creative ways to explain to me why they aren't going to give me a full cup of soup- which is more often than not cold. This place is also rather disheartening because there is a great market which fills almost the same niche like half a block away- juliettes- which charges similar prices for substantially better sandwiches
