I've been on a sandwich kick lately but unfortunately it's tough to find a truly great sandwich. Firehouse is no Italian Store but they actually make hearty, filling sandwiches that are fresh and tasty. The portions are generous but not gargantuan and I like that they have an under 500 calories menu. So far, I really like the Engineer sub and the Turkey Salsa Verde. Even if it's not busy, the wait is around 10-15 minutes. The teenagers are sloooow behind the counter. However, they make up for it for being friendly and polite. The seating area seems to be clean.

One of the worst locations I've been to - the staff is pretty rude and don't acknowledge you when you come in and don't seem like they even care to be there. The sandwiches come out looking sloppy and the bread is soggy on the bottom from the juice coming from the pickles which really grosses me out. Also, thus location has been low on hot sauces for quite some time and it doesn't look like they're planning on restocking.

Firehouse Subs, kind of in the middle of the road and then some. I ordered the loaded steak and cheese with chips (a mini 1 3/8 oz bag) and a drink for $8.98 w/o tax. The sub was on the smallish side but the sandwich had decent flavor. The bread was soft and chewy and the meat tasted fresh. Not bad but not great, somewhere in the middle of the road. I'm not going to go out of my way for one of their subs, but may eat there for convenience purposes.

These are really good subs. If you like your subs to be loaded with MEAT and veggies, then this is the place for you! Plus they have like 20 different kinds of hot sauces which is even better; at least for me ;) They have generous portions too. My wife and I always order one Philly cheese steak and club of the day and always split it. If you don't have a huge appetite, I recommend the medium size.

Wow. I must say for a sub shop the service was great. The owner I think her name is Kristen and her staff went out her way for my family. Thanks much. Will be eating here more often. Luv the new menu also Food was very good. Clean and very friendly.

Good as always but still more if the same and nothing special. Still beats Quiznos. The brisket is half way decent.

I usually go to the one on Buckeystown Pike because that one runs like a machine. I went to this one last week because I was diverted due to an accident. It was the first time I went to the one on Kingfisher Dr and will definitely be the last. When I went into the restaurant, there was a family already in line, but no one behind the counter. I mean NO ONE. They asked if I knew what I wanted so that I could go ahead of them, and the woman then said, "If they ever get out here." I asked if they had been served yet and was told they had not. When the woman walked past the register to look where the refrigerators were, she saw the entire staff on their cell phones! She then yelled to them to get some help for us. Once one of them came out, he quickly realized he now needed all of them to come out. Everyone of the staff looked like they were too young to even shave yet. The guy took my order and I went to the soda machine to get my drink. They had a total of two medium lids left. I got my drink, grabbed one of the last two lids and went to a table, which was just about out of napkins as well. Additionally, there was food residue from previous customers on just about each of the tables. I tried to grab the one that looked the cleanest. The food came out with no issue, and was delicious, but you would think that a restaurant that does the kind of volume they do, which had about 5-6 employees working at one time could leave one person out front, could fill the lids and napkin holders back up, and clean the damn tables off. The place was disgusting. Like I said, the one on Buckeystown Pike is always spotless, always has help out front so they know you are there, and generally always have supplies and utensils filled when you get there. They place is also always spotless. It seems to be a management issue. I love their food, but will not be back to this one....EVER.

The food is always great at firehouse as I have one closer to my house I love to go to so when I was up this way I thought I'd get lunch there! I ordered a turkey bacon ranch with no cheese or mayo and added bell pepper and cucumbers. The sub I got had cheese on it, mayo with no ranch or bell peppers. Why be able to customize something if they are just going to ignore it?! Probably won't go to this location again - not too mention it took them a very long time to get the order out as a lot of us were waiting and waiting for incorrect subs.

The food was excellent as always. In comparison to other Firehouse Subs around the DE/MD/VA that I have been to, I was impressed that after day 2, the staff was as responsive, well trained on the ordering system and my food arrived as fast as any other FS shop. The little details down to the staff saying "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!" as soon as you walk in the door makes a world of difference and this shop was no different. Everybody smiled, the staff was attentive to the needs of all the customers, etc. The owners have done an excellent job with this opening!! After this, I'm extremely happy that I no longer have to go 30 mins to the other side of town to get a meal from FS. I'll be returning here frequently!!
