We used to go here when it was under another name. sad to say we will not return. This used to be a hang out for us after fall sailing. It's now a tiki bar style bar. Entrée are not great. I should have tipped off to this change when I saw the place was empty on a Saturday late afternoon and the waitress told us that the kitchen was not cooperating with our oder. Server was nice, but we'll look for another place next time. Best way to explain this place is "Meh". oh I just noticed that the muscles were supposed to come with fries and we didn't get fries. good luck.

Impromptu dinner lead me to the waterfront restaurant in Essex, MD. Place was clean painted with bright summer colors. Sat in the outdoor seating area where umbrellaed picnic tables line the waterfront. Service was very friendly. Looking around there was a large square outdoor bar and plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with a large dock to accommodate boaters. Food was really good. My turkey club was made not made with sandwich deli meat but real oven cooked turkey. , fresh calamari was crispy and tender, sesame seared tuna was clean and tasty, and the salad was crispy, fresh and moist. My server was polite attentive without being intrusive. Cost wise, well, its in the waterfront so its $$$. Average cost per person is about $25 and that an appetizer with an entree. So try it out if your in the neighborhood either by car or boat.

Great atmosphere ... Island music ... docking available ... food delivered to your boat at their docks! The Bloody Marys are fantastic! Recommend the crab nachos or Chesapeake grilled cheese. The seafood club sandwich is HUGE and wonderful. (Used to be the Steelfish.) Ryan is a great outside bartender!

Food was pretty good I must admit. I had the mussels and my friends had the crab dip and the calamari. However the waitress couldn't figure out if she wanted to be friendly or rude. At one point we heard both "I have other tables" and "it's not that hard" in reference to our ordering process. We ordered in less then five mins. I'm pretty sure waitressing 101 would teach you those two sentences are heavily advised against. Crazy Tuna needs to have their staff check their attitudes.

This place use to be the old Driftwood Inn. The Driftwood was a hole in the wall but had pretty darn good food. The Crazy Tuna picked right up where the Driftwood left off but really spruced up the joint. The food was pretty good, I got the Rockfish wrap and also tried the Shrimp PO-Boy. Here ya go: I'd rate the wrap a 4 but give the PB a 2. I heard the tacos were very good. Service was scoash for a spur of the moment party of 15. It's worth another try, especially if you come by boat. Nice doc and eating area.

When I write a review I typically go a few times. I do this to give the business the benefit of the doubt. This place gets two stars just because of location and decor. It's no secret that this building has had its fair share of failed businesses. It's not easy surviving the winter months with a business talk at thrives on nautical themes with a private pier...but typically a summer thriving restaurant tries a littler harder then there guys/gals do. First, girls behind bar seemed to be threatened by manager all night. They were forced to dance to the horrible Dj's outdated music. It got so bad, we decided to play along and request humorous songs. Everyone loves barbie girl and spice girls right? :) so we went on a Friday and it was "burger night." You could get a burger and chips for like 5 or 6 bucks but there is a catch. Want lettuce? Add 25 cent. Want tomato? Add 25 cent. Onion? Pickle? Mayo? Yup! Add 25 cents. Ordered it medium well and got a bloody burger. Obviously the cook had a few more drinks then me. My chips were the scraps at the bottom of the bag. Probably utz. Less then impressed with the crazy tuna.

The food is just so-so. On a recent visit, mussels "chesapeake" were cold and very fishy. They also didn't come with the fries described on the menu. Most were not eaten, pointed out the fishiness to the bartender, he shrugged. Shrimp salad was tasty but the portion was very small. The fries that came with that were nubs that looked like what was left in the fry basket. The order of rockfish bites, which turned out to be fillets were actually really good. On a past visit, the crab cake was mushy, rockfish tacos had little flavor. I like the space and tiki bar on the water but the food needs much improvement. I'm just sticking with drinks.

This is a great casual waterfront restaurant and bar. The food is reasonably priced, nice variety of items on the menu and everything we have ever had there has been great. The service is good, the place is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There are a few booths, many nice café style table and chairs, and a large bar with seating. In the warmer months there are colorful picnic tables and umbrellas outdoors on the sand, a tiki bar and a dock for boats. The only drawback is sometimes parking can be difficult if the place is packed. We usually go for lunch so we don't have any trouble with the parking. I would totally recommend trying this place!

Went yesterday with a group of friends and two little ones. Sat outside and had a great Sunday afternoon. We are all still talking about the Chesapeake grilled cheese- ridiculous. Reasonable bill too. One thing I wish is that they served frozen drinks- 2 of us were wanting something frozen- although the half and half crushes were delicious. We will be back.

Used to eat here all the time when it was called "Steelfish" and the food was much better!! My husband and I ate here last night and were very disappointed! I ordered the surf and turf and what was listed as "lobster tail" was actually just chunks of bland overcooked lobster on a platter- no dipping sauces or butter. Awful! The steak was ok but salty. The saving grace was the vegetable medley which happens to be the only choice for a side healthier veggie. Potato choices? Only ones are garlic mashed potatoes or French fries- no baked or sweet potatoes. Yikes! Positive note- the service was very good. Doubt I'll eat here again unless I feel like a greasy hamburger or try an appetizer:(

Nice location. Great Sunday with toes in the sand under umbrella and next to the water. Then came the food...Mussels with garlic and wine came cold over cooked and lacking the crispy fries. When I pointed the fry mistake out to the waiter he said he had never served them with fries and it didn't say it on the menu. I got a bowl of limp fries after I pointed out tye description on the menu. My wife, cold soft shell crab limp cold frys. View A, food C-.

If I had the option to click zero stars I would! It's sad because Steele Fish, the restaurant before the name changed to Crazy Tuna, was great! Had good food and service. BUT... For some reason they chose drunken partiers over loyal customers. A group of my friends and I went in a few weekends ago and it was bad! Waited 20 minutes to get a table, even though half the bar was empty. While we were waiting, watched a number of food runners come out with trays of and no idea where they went. The food just sat on the tray as the runners were running around trying to find the table it belonged to. We finally sat down and waited another fifteen minutes until my boyfriend had to flag down bus boy to get our waitress. Finally placed our order and got drinks. After 35 minutes we still hadn't received our apps, which was soup and tuna sashimi(uncooked). We finally flagged down another waitress and said we wanted to know when our food would come out. Another lady, not sure if she was a manager, came over and said that they were backed up and would make sure they would put our food in now. WAIT... After almost an hour there, our food had not even begun. At that point we said forget it! Then the owner came out, who was very arrogant and rude, and once again was making excuses. My friend was frustrated and tried talking to him and he pretty much said just to leave. Lost at least a 200 dollar bill. Yes I realized that they had just opened the tiki bar outside but that does not mean you completely ignore your customers inside. At this point we had been there for over an hour and no longer had a desire to eat at a place as unorganized and mislead as that, so we paid for our drinks and walked out. I will NEVER go back there and plan on telling anyone who is looking for a good meal and good service, to not waste their time on the Crazy Tuna. If your just looking to party and get drunk... You may have better luck since that was all they were worried about. So sad! Good luck in the winter when it's too cold for that awesome tiki bar of yours!

First time here tonight for dinner. Apps were delicious bacon wrapped scallops and crazy shrimp. Entrees were underwhelming. Salmon on the salmon club way overlooked and dry. Cheesesteak was not meaty at all. Service was not good at all. Three stars for the apps and atmosphere. Either way food was better than the riverwatch next door. I will be back thy had a lot of options that I'm willing to give a try.

The Crazy Tuna is exactly what it sounds like... a crazy waterfront restaurant and bar with sand, a tiki hut, outdoor tables, boats, music, cornhole, and more. There are all sorts of people there and it's a great representation of everything that is eastern Baltimore County. The atmosphere is very fun and lively and you'll feel like joining the party. The food is not fine dining, but it is solid. The crabcake is probably one of the best things on the menu. It's big and loaded with good crab. The wraps are pretty good too. I recommend the blackened fish wrap. I got the tuna steak one time and it was completely overcooked, so I would stay away from things that need to be cooked to temperature, but for bar food, it's solid stuff. The drinks are excellent and they have many different types of crushes to choose from. I like the Hopkins Creek crush and the Rum Bucket. I wouldn't set your expectations super-high, but this is a fun place with good people and good atmosphere where you can eat solid food while looking out at the water. Be part of the party or lay back and chill, it's your choice. I recommend giving it a try.

Went there upon g/f's request 2 saturday's ago for lunch. The inside was semi-busy, mostly with older crowd on deck. The outside seating is picnic tables/bench style with sand. The outside was busier. We had the restaurant week special of crab cake sandwich and a cup of MD crab soup. The soup was good, lumps of crab meat, and not very salty at all, which is rare and a plus. The sandwich was average, nothing really stands out. My g/f had an orange crush. She said it was good, until...she found a cigarette wrapper in that orange crush...ew...we took it to the server's attention, and she brought out another one. However, she charged us for 2!! Meanwhile, there are 2 servers who were fighting over a table. It was one young girl and one older woman. The older woman was loud, yelling like a drunken sailor, f-bombs were everywhere. Extremely unprofessional. That is something one do not do in front of customers. Overall, the food was okay, but the drinks and that one server made it an unpleasant experience.

Never in my LIFE have I felt so strongly about poor service. I have given Crazy Tuna multiple chances (happy hour with 30+ nurses whom I invited, birthdays, dinner, lunches, etc.) and I've always been disappointed. Shitty service. Mediocre, lukewarm food. Then Saturday was the last draw; a bartender actually said, "Fuck you, bitch!" when I inquired as to why it had taken my girlfriend and I 20 minutes to get a drink (as he stood with his back to us, taking shots in front of patrons-fuck YOU, Jack). Done. Done. Done. You're subpar service and the shitty attitudes of your staff are more than I can stand Bye, Stinky Tuna! Plenty more docks bars with mediocre food to choose from.

Loved it. We went SUPing and afterwards our group of ten was looking for a fun place to "rehydrate", relax and enjoy some unhurried snacks. Crazy Tuna offered it all plus off came the shoes as we sat outside over looking the marina in the beach part of the restaurant - complete with sand, and Tiki bar. The Crush drinks were a hit (great variety) and the outside music wasn't too loud. As busy as the place was our waitress was on top of everything and she did it all with a smile. I got the Salmon BLT and my girlfriend got the Shrimp Cobb Salad and we both were happy. Fun atmosphere, good food and friendly staff - all with a view. Good stuff!

This restaurant has excellent food. The crab nachos are the best I have ever had. The atmosphere is beachy and there is a tiki bar surrounded by sand out on the water that also has a dock for boater access. Kate was an excellent waitress too.
