This is primarily based on bar service. First time going and the staff was incredibly friendly. We had originally gone to sit outside on the patio, but it would seem they are still doing some construction in the rear portion of turf valley-- there was one of those big portable dumpsters nearby. It stank ass. So, we moved inside. Our bar tender was really cool, she goes by "Jlo" like... Jenny from the block. Turned out she's the manager. Had a great time talking to her and trying her different drink creations. Happy hour prices are sweet. 3-5 bucks for small plates of appetizers. Perfect. Oooo there's also a game you can play at the bar with bottle caps. If you figure out the picture message on the inside of the cap you get a free drink.

My friend and I decided to stop by Red Parrot because we found a Restaurant.com deal. Upon entering there was a sign noting coupon users- show them to the server prior to ordering, tipping on the FULL amount of the check, etc. Once we were seated there was another sign. We were a little put off by all these signs as they seemed to be in a few places around the restaurant. Anyway, we did not find the host to be very welcoming when we walked in. We were verbally reminded of the coupon and to show our server once we were seated. We sat down and started looking through the menu... Around the 5-7 minute mark we wondered where the server was so we could ask about Happy Hour specials & order drinks. Upon asking about the HH specials the waiter flagged down someone else (woman), who informed us that the dining area had HH from 3-5pm and the bar had HH from 3-7. However, we could not use our coupon + get the happy hour specials. Man... What a let down. We decided to stay in the dining area and ordered drinks. I ordered the green-tea lemonade; when I took a sip or two it didn't taste good, so I asked if I could get a different drink. The woman came back after I complained and made me a new drink that I enjoyed. The menu is expansive and we were a little overwhelmed, but decided to order sushi. I ordered the Alaska Roll and a chef special roll which had shrimp tempura and spicy tuna on top. The sushi was average. My friend enjoyed hers too. Our bill was about $70ish minus the $25 coupon we had. Overall it was an okay experience.

This place gives a very weak first impression. As you arrive at the host stand, there are hand printed signs advising you that if you are using a groupon or other type of deal you MUST tip on the total amount of the bill, that you can't use a coupon for happy hour or ant specials, etc etc. Not an auspicious start to our meal, and as soon as we sat down we were asked if we were using a Groupon by the gruff and abrupt server. Enough already! Fortunately the food is better than the service. The menu covers the gamut of Asian cuisine, so we skipped between countries. The Vietnamese spring rolls were deep fried and tasty, although there was no crab in them as advertised, just ground pork. We both loved the seared ahi which was presented beautifully, but had a tad too much dipping sauce. Our spicy shrimp roll was anything but, so that went uneaten. The Singapore rice noodles started off tasting very bland, but as we got deeper into the dish the wonderful curry flavor shone through. Overall, a decent experience if you order correctly. The restaurant itself looks brand spanking new and gives off a very cool vibe. Next time I'm in the area we'll stop by for happy hour. But remember you can't use a groupon for that! :)

Great atmosphere and delicious food. General Tsao's is very good here. So is the Tom yum soup. Fried rice was a little bland.

Finally tried the calamari. It was very salty. The husband agreed. The coconut spring roll had a very strong coconut flavor, which we liked. He tried the pineapple shrimp curry, cool presentation. He said it was pretty tasty, but not much curry. My duck Penang curry was still very good.

Good service. Horrible management. The short of it is my husband ordered a drink that I didn't care for. I sent the drink back via the server. Bad move. He came back saying no he can not send back. Initially I thought it was a language barrier which caused the discrepancy. I went to the hostess to bget the manager to resolve. Turns out the manager made the drink. I explained to her I didn't like the drink. She said to me I can't send it back because she made it how I liked it. I was shocked as she went into a soliloquy about ordering drinks in tall and long glasses. I advised her that well if it's a problem cash me out and we will leave no problem. She recoiled as if I was wrong for being offended but still smiling. After much finger shaking at me she made another but I was apprehensive about drinking it. After that our waiter became more anxious to get us out of there. He asked were we done at least 6 times. My mom is 65 was I supposed to force the food and zap her drink into the air He placed the check on the table. No biggie but when I open it I see the "drink" was still on the bill. I looked up to signal the manger just to find her deep into another spat with a patron. Sadly I paid the entire bill but negated the tip. Honestly the food was good but service and the overall treatment was awful. Very disappointing had high hopes here.

I had the bulgogi yesterday and as soon as I saw it I regretted ordering it. It kinda tasted like really cheap beef that wasn't marinated. I didn't finish it and when I got home I threw the rest away. The smell was awful. The menu is too expansive and really they must focus on something instead of trying to sample all of Asia...I've had better meals at Panda Express. The being said the manager on duty spoke to the 2 ladies getting sushi behind me about the food but not once was I asked by her or my server how the food was. I was also never offered a refill on my drink. Service wasn't bad but felt ignored. Not a clue who the server was but I did go around 4pm. I won't be going to any Red Parrott again.

I came here yesterday for lunch with my coworker after a work seminar. I can honestly say the food and decor here is superb. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and the food came out pretty fast. We ordered the lunch special so it came with a side of soup or salad. I ordered the drunken noodle with hot and sour soup and my coworker ordered peanut curry w/ hot and sour soup and we ordered fried calamari for appetizer. The lunch portion was pretty big and the food was very good. The hot and sour soup was the best I've ever had but at $4 a bowl we were not going to order it separately. The calamari was a bit on the salty side but everything else was great.

Came here wanting to try something new. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and seated. It then took 15 minutes or so for the waiter to take our order. Once we placed the order another 30 minutes or so passed before we even got our food. To my surprise, the serving sizes were really small for the price paid. I will not be returning as there are plenty of other places that I go to for Asian food/Korean Food that are half the cost and taste better. I think that if you wanted to do some drinking and eat casually, it is OK.

Groupon really helps me decide on where I want to go. I've never heard of this place before but when I typed in Chinese into Groupon, I found Red Parrot and I'm so glad I did! It turns out, that my eyes are a little bigger than my stomach...I didn't feel like we ordered a whole lot but when the food came out, the portions were giant. The egg drop soup was a little unique and it had to grow on me but by the end of the bowl, I wanted more. We ordered the mandarin chicken, vegetable lo mein, and the Massaman Curry. It was all sooooo good! The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is the server was borderline rude when we first got there but she eventually warmed up to us but it made the initial experience kind of awkward. One more thing to mention...this place has an awesome happy hour!

Red Parrot has a Very Good Happy Hour at this location! It's available in the dining area from 3-5 and the bar from 4-7 with so many things to choose from. I was able to enjoy Happy Hour which ran into the Thursday night football game. I ended up closing the place! This location is in the Turf Valley area near the golf coarse and the area is still being build up. Staff treated you like family and Jessica was great with suggestions of different sushi rolls along with other items on the Happy Hour menu. I will return this month before Thanksgiving!

I had an excellent experience here!! I hosted my rehearsal dinner here and they created a customized food, drinks and dessert menu that was delicious. All the guests loved the food and the ambiance. Wonderful experience, thanks so much for everything!

Food is mediocre and it wasn't overall delicious. The Thai items weren't made correctly and it just wasn't that good. The only thing I thought was enjoyable was their house made sangria at happy hour. Other then that I don't eat here.

The one thing I will say about this Red Parrot is that is is very inconsistent. One day I order the drunken noodle and it's perfect. Lots of veggies, yummy beef, and the perfect amount of spicy. The next time I order it, it's got tons of veggies, very little beef, and the spiciness is so overpowering I can't enjoy the flavor. And the time after that it's not spicy at all and there's hardly any vegetables and the beef is overcooked. The service has only ever been okay and the staff does not seem to be very knowledgable. 3 stars for having a lot of potential and not much else. I hope this place gets better.

My husband and I had lunch at the Red Parrot today. He ordered a Bento Box meal and I ordered the chicken teriyaki. Our waitress struggled with English and so I had a difficult time trying to clarify parts of the menu. Our lunch meal arrived fairly quickly. First came the wonton soup. It was quite good. We had to ask for some of the crispy things for the soup. They were just okay- had an odd aftertaste from the oil. My husband thought his Bento Box meal was good. I took a bite of my chicken and immediately spat it out- it had the texture of uncooked chicken. You know? The bite and consistency of not-fully-cooked meat. I had my husband bite into it as well and he thought the same thing. We called the waitress over and tried to explain to her that it was not done. Due the language barrier, we couldn't tell if she understood us or not. We asked to speak to a manager and the waitress went off to go get her. A bit later, she returned and said the manager was "outside" and could she get us something else in the meantime? We kept the plate to show the manager and I ordered some fried rice instead. The fried rice came but still no manager. I asked again and then again. Finally, someone came by who was not the manager and said the manager would be gone 2 or 3 hours. Um, okay. So apparently no one is actually in charge. Long story short: The Bento Box was fine, the fried rice was good, the soup was pretty good. The chicken was not cooked and was served in an unsafe manner. The soda was never refilled. For ever 30 dollars for two people to have lunch off the lunch menu (and one soda, not refilled) we are unlikely to return.

We always enjoy Red Parrot! They have absolutely delicious sushi, with a plethora of variety. Lunch specials and happy hour specials are awesome. Today we tried the lobster dynamite roll, and a bento box lunch special with teriyaki beef. One of my favorites is the drunken noodles. The food definitely lives up to the spicy label on their menu.

We tried red Parrott for the first time on Christmas - was so good. great food and great service. Drunken noodles were excellent. We will definitely be back

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. The soup was overly salty and the dynamite roll was really small. For the price they charge they could at least make the presentation a little better. Our waitress seemed to be rushing us out the door even though there as no one waiting nor were there any other customer. This was the worst experience ever.

I got a to-go order of General Tso's chicken lunch. I substituted the white rice for fried rice. The General Tso's was tasty, decent portion, and was made with a homemade sauce (a little spice and hints of ginger came threw well). The fried rice was good, it was made to order. The reason I didn't give this place 4 stars is the price. The general Tso's was $10 plus $3 to substitute white rice for fried rice. Online it said the lunch special comes with soup, so I guess they forgot to give me mine. China Taste just down the road on 40 has almost the same quality but at a much better price. I probably will not eat here again.

I am amazed how the kitchen can produce various Asian cuisines with equal skill. Even more amazing are the fusion dishes which exhibit even more international influences. I am never disappointed. I urge diners to avail themselves of the hospitable manager who always has good suggestions. The staff is friendly, attentive and efficient. The atmosphere is as unique as the menu.

I thought the wait staff and decor of the restaurant were great. I did not LOVE the sushi that I ordered (three different roles). The wrap, whether seaweed or soy paper, was a bit tough and in each of the rolls the fish was just okay. Not stellar, not terrible. The high quality and tenderness of fresh fish just wasn't present in the rolls that I tried. That being said, the cooked items that I ordered were very good and had a lot of flavor. I will try Red Parrot again...I think it was decent enough for a second chance. Hopefully I was just there on an off night.

This is our third time dining at Red Parrot. The things we loved overpowered the things we didn't. Like? Like the crispy duck. Like Happy family. Like Spring Rolls. Like Won ton soup. Like dumplings. Unlike the hundreds of other Asian restaurants I've patronized over the years, "The Parrot" gave me fresh and authentic food so it was worth the wait. If you're looking for quick (often the result of frozen foods) then go elsewhere. I'm not a fan of drunken (fat) noodles nor curry sauces so I'm not the best reviewer on those items. But I found the portion sizes to be more than enough (lunch the next day) and well seasoned. This week, during evenings, all guests get to trial endless samples of owner Wendy Cheng's creations. I know it's a week night but well worth the trip.

Really liked what we had. Pho was excellent, empress chicken was actually spicy like they said. Very glad to have this place in our hood.

Have visited this jewel twice and found the service, food and ambience top notch! Owner and manager are on-site and visit guests for feedback. The bartender is friendly and attentive. Sushi rolls are awesome, satay delicious and Asian chicken wings a unique treat. Salmon dish with mango sauce is my favorite fish in the Baltimore area! Happy hour Monday-Thursday, 4-7pm offers some sushi and appetizers at a discount, enticing you to try several, delectable offerings. Great variety of items not found everywhere else. Definitely worth a trip!

I am truly surprised at the reviews since I have had nothing but great service, good food, and the staff is so accommodating. The manager (Jay Lo - Julian) is worth the visit since she greets you at the door with a smile, makes great drinks, and is always pleasant. They will alternate the dish to meet your dietary needs and always willing to make sure everything is just right! I eat there on a weekly basis and will continue to go there since I feel the food is fresh and always good! I have had no hassle with using coupons or restaurant.com certificates. Again, please visit just to be entertained by the manager and her staff who love to get to know you and make sure they don't forget how you like your drink or food! I would highly recommend eating there or taking advantage of the delivery service but tip your drivers. The staff are young and I'm sure they are working their way through school! I hope the portions do not change and the pricing is comparable to the area. If you want a deal, I suggest you go Double T diner for dinner! Hope to see you there!

This was our 2nd visit to Red Parrot. After the first visit, I probably would have given the restaurant 3 stars. I decided to wait and have upgraded my rating. On our two visits, the appetizers were outstanding. Both the chicken samosas and the crispy Korean dumplings are excellent! The first time, I order the spicy empress chicken, and while somewhat tasty with fresh crisply cooked vegetables, there was absolutely no spice to the dish. My husband ordered the Pad Thai, and while slightly sweeter than he expected, he thought it was very good. This time he ordered the Thai crispy pork with chili and it is one of the best Asian dishes we have ever tasted. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and it was one of the better ones I have tried. I had to order it extra spicy to get the heat you would normally expect with this dish. I agree with other reviewers that their prices are kind of inflated, but living in Eldersburg, I expect this in Howard County.

First visit, quite enjoyable. Service was good and quick, drink refills, etc. the pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) was excellent! The sushi was good, ditto for the other items. Will def go back. Alex, the manager, was very helpful..
