I like waffle house, I use to love waffle house. But that's before I ate at waffle house a lot. One of the best things you can get here is the All American Special. You get a waffle, some eggs grits and bacon; pair all of that with some of Alice's sweet tea and you know why Paula Dean has diabetes. The staff here was friendly and everything came out with the speed you would expect it to. As for the food, it what you expect from waffle house, I doubt there is much variation from place to place. One thing that I always notice is that this is not the place for a group, the last 3 times I've come the group I've been with has been 12+ That means at least 3 table and more like 5 or 6 when they only have the 2 person one available. Moral of the story, don't come here with a big group and expect to sit together. Although if you don't mind getting split up it's a great place.

Another one of my favorite Waffle Houses! This one is right off 95 as soon as you leave Delaware and enter Maryland. This location gets crowded with truckers and bus loads of tourist depending on what time of day you go especially on weekends. The food is just as dependable and delicious as ever. Great waffles and grits. Service is good and the food comes out fast. I really like IHOP as well but I love Waffle House! Please come to Pittsburgh so I don't have to drive as far to enjoy your tasty goodness!

Breakfast of Champions!! I'm sure you guys are already aware of my affinity for anything diner-like, so I'll try not to drone on about the perfect diner ambiance as soon as you stroll into Waffle House. I was instantly happy, just walking in. Delicious everything. Dan isn't into the breakfast food (WHA???), so he had a juicy burger, but if you're going to a Waffle House, please get waffles, for heaven's sake. I had an obnoxious amount of food, including waffles (totally yummalicious), eggs, home fries (covered? Is that right, Waffle House Aficionados? You order them covered, smothered, etc. depending if you want cheese, onions and the like. Adorable.), um, etc. Everything totally hit the spot. Greasy *in a good way!* diner perfection. Big shout-out to Margie, the coolest waitress ever.

A staple in the southeast as far as I'm concerned, the waffle house offers consistently delicious food with friendly service, especially this location. As a waffle house veteran of 12 years, id rather eat here than ihop any day.

i love waffle house, end of story. better than ihop, dennys, any jersey diner, and your mom's cooking put together. srsly.

Waffle House. You are pretty great. The buttermilk waffle is thin, perfectly browned and very yummy. I tore through this like nobody's business. The biscuit with sausage gravy is pretty delicious as well. The gravy was a little too salty, but I found it a good compliment to the warm biscuit. I asked for my bacon crispy and it certainly came out that way. There's nothing better than getting the extremely crispy bacon you ask for. Also, the hash browns - smothered and covered - is where it's at. These hash brown were very tender and crispy and had a good amount of cheese and onions to top it off. All in all, the food is pretty good and perfect if you are looking for that greasy spoon type of meal. And the prices are very reasonable. The only downfall of this specific Waffle House is that it's definitely not designed for groups. Expect to be seated at the counter and/or broken up into different tables.

This is a waffle house. I don't think there is much I can say about waffle that if you don't know you shouldn't just find out for yourself. For those of you know about waffle house, but are stuck in the Northeast where there are no Waffle Houses, this is the first waffle house that you cross when crossing the Mason-Dixon line on I-95 heading south from New Jersey/New York. The Onion mentioned how the Mason-Dixon line has been renamed the "I-Hop/Waffle House" line, which I always thought was especially funny given the location of this Waffle House right across the line. Now, I know there are other Waffle Houses that may be closer and there are a few north of the M-D, but this one was always convenient when driving south.

It's a Waffle House. And a good one at that. Clean, quick, reasonably priced diner fare. I can't help but think I'm overrating this but the fact is it was great for the family. Big waffle with chocolate chips, ham and cheese omelette were big hits. But I really enjoyed the hash browns topped with chili. Just a very satisfying affordable meal and one i would return too. Wish we had these closer than, say, Friendly's. Unpretentious. Just solid breakfast fare.

It's a clean Waffle House. Staff were all on their phones when I walked in after midnight. No one was happy to be there except the girl checking me out. I'm not surprised, it's not a great line of work and there isn't much to do. I ate there twice while I was in town. The morning brunch staff was great and the food right on point of the price.

My hometown has multiple Waffle Houses off every exit. When I came to Delaware, I had a real hankering for a Pecan Waffle, so I looked up the nearest Waffle House. After a ten minute drive, I felt relief when I saw the yellow letters gleaming at me in the distance. There was a 10 minute wait for a booth (this Waffle House must be pretty popular). I thought the service was really lackluster, but I'm used to the employees with southern hospitality that would sing the Bacon Song whilst working and being cheerful. However, our server was terse and forgot our orders and requests for water. The food was standard and tasted somewhat similar, but I was just a little disappointed in how this Waffle House just didn't have the same charm.

A cute place right after the Delaware tolls from Philly. Actually, you can avoid the tolls by taking the last exit and taking surface streets to this place. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. All the staff seemed friendly saying "good morning" or "hello" when customers entered. Our seat was a bit drafty so we tried to eat quickly so the food didn't get too cold. We both ordered the All-Star Special. Definitely a decent sized meal for $7.25. Overall a pleasant experience.

Waffle House was bumpin' at 10 on a Saturday morning. I've seen the sign from I-95 dozens of times, but never pulled off to eat. Making the drive from Philly to D.C. with my 2 year old, Waffle House was the perfect spot to break up the drive. $2.40 waffle, buttery hash browns and decent coffee go well beside large anti-discrimination signs on the wall. Better than your everyday fast food, and if you're a trucker hat aficionado, it's definitely your place.

I love the hell out of Waffle House. One thing that you've always got to look out for when it comes to WHs is whether or not you can tolerate the smoke and fortunately that's not an issue at this one off I-95 in Elkton before you cross into Delaware. The staff was their usually friendly gruffiness (typical at all Waffle Houses) and the food was quick and excellent. Consider it my new breakfast joint.

If I've learned one thing over the last decade and a half, it's that I'll drive a great distance for a waffle. I'll eat a waffle for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or whatever you call the meal you eat at or around midnight on a weekend. I've been to Waffle Houses in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio. And maybe one or two other states. It's hard to remember every waffle ever consumed, after all. But this Waffle House is the just about the closest to where I live, and even if that translates to a 2-or-so-hour drive each way for a waffle, it's totally worth it. You're thinking about it right now, aren't you? A double waffle. A side of eggs. A side of bacon. A side of grits. Some juice. And then maybe another waffle for dessert. Come on, get in the car. Hit the road. It'll be totally worth it. Maybe I'll see you there.

When my friend said he wanted to travel over an hour to get waffles at 8pm, I thought he was insane. When he said he was driving, I decided I might as well go for the ride because breakfast is for the morning. That's where I was wrong. The menu was overwhelming, but luckily all five of us decided upon the "All Star Breakfast." I went with the classic blueberry waffle, while my friend went H.A.M with a chocolate chip / strawberry combination. I also chose my All-Star Breakfast to come with hash browns, bacon, toast, and scrambled eggs. The entire meal came to about $10 with tip, which is a very good price. The hour ride back was complimented by spotify's Waffle House soundtrack, produced by the softest rappers in the industry.

This is usually a great spot to stop. Seems like they have a all new crew working there, they are all just standing around. Most of the employees were caught up in the drama of one of the girls and her "Situation " with someone's car and the outrageous number of cup holders it has. I don't think I'll be back . Just too erban for me. Just when I thought it was over Jada's man friend comes in and they begin to argue right next to me over why she is the only one that puts gas in her car. I will never be back .

Waffle House is super cheap, which makes me happy. However, I think the only great thing about it is the hash browns. Apparently, Waffle Houses are known for their hash browns, and I guess its for the plethora of toppings you can get with it? I don't know, I don't normally frequent Waffle Houses. What I DO know, though, is that most of the non-hash brown food that is served comes out looking very sad and dejected. Also, Waffle House gives me bad gas.

Our server came by twice to take our orders, and within a few short minutes, she was back with our plates of food. I enjoyed the hash browns and thought my sandwich were great. Place smells a little greasy but pretty clean and quick! Prices are fantastic and food is awesome.

We came here for lunch and ordered coffee, triple hash browns, eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit, and a grilled cheese with hash browns. The food was pretty average. The service was fast and friendly. We asked to for 2 to go coffees and they didn't charge us. The menus were sticky and the inside of the restaurant wasn't particularly clean. The prices were very affordable. I would return for something quick to eat.

Emerging from Elk Neck State Park and the Boy Scouts' Camp Rodney, you might imagine that 13 year old boys would see all the bright lights along Rt. 40, and demand a quick stop at the nearest glittering fast food emporium to get their fix of grease and sugar. It was to be expected. No matter what the campout provided for nourishment, even the deep fried Oreos and the gallons of Cheez Balz consumed at the campfire, they were wired to demand what they had been denied for these few days. Still, with Yelp in hand, I suggested an alternative slightly less greasy and further away - Waffle House. Some of the kids had never had the pleasure and were skeptical. My son had been indoctrinated into the WH ethic, and his enthusiasm won the day. Eight breakfasts later, we had more converts. The waffles were a big hit drowned in one of the sweet syrups. A couple of boys insisted on burgers, and they were happy with what they received. Huge pile of fries with that. Sufficiently greasy to remind them of their favorite places. For me, the coffee mug was refilled several times to wash the sleepiness from my brain for the ride home. The other dad had an overflowing plate with waffles, eggs and meat, that he devoured with relish and abandon. He ended up sleeping most of the way home in a food-induced coma. Waffle House is a favorite breakfast or lunch stop for me, and has been since I found them always close at hand in my travels through the Southwest. Far superior and iconoclastic than the attempts by other fast food purveyors to duplicate them, they have become a welcome respite on the American road. The young road warriors, dirty but sated, climbed back into the cars to tell their tales and create the stuff of legends.

I'm a lover of Waffle House, especially now that I'm in DC and have no easy access to one. I also try to avoid reviewing chains, but I need to make an exception for the Elkton Waffle House. Never have I received friendlier restaurant service than I received at this location. This is for any restaurant - fine dining, fast food, casual, etc. Just smiles and hellos all around at this restaurant. The hash browns covered and topped came out excellent as always and provided a great pre-golf round boost. I rewarded the friendly staff for their great service by refraining from playing a selection of hackneyed 50's era Waffle House songs on the jukebox.

This place was great. They kept my deliciously refreshing sprite refilled 3 times and added tantalizing onions to anything they possibly could, by my request. My order was made in a timely manner and my waitress added something special to my service by referring to me as 'hun'. Being from Utah I still have no clue what the hell grits are, but really who knows anyway? Get the pecan waffle and you'll be moaning your way home in ecstasy.

Waffle House is like an institution if you have spent any time down South. I spent some college time in South Carolina and admittedly get cravings for staple southern items like grits and sausage gravy with biscuits. I travel a lot of business but live in North Jersey. My area has ZERO Waffle Houses...and let;s face it there is just no substitute. There is just nothing quite like a 3 egg cheese omelete here with super fluffy eggs run in a milkshake by a potential felon. Yeah I said it. Staff here can be of questionable prior activities and I mean prior as in prior sentences. Whatever...the past is the past and if I need an ex-con to give me a mean breakfast for dinner this is where I detour and hop up to the counter.

My first Waffle House experience. Thanks for the memories. Timeless traditional familiar tastes done right. While trekking the mid-upper east coast, we hankered for breakfast grub at night and on I-95 there were WH signs on the regular. 'Twas a sign - literally. Upon entering, there're stool seats facing the front line of the meal-preparing action but we opt for a comfy window booth. Such friendly efficient staff. I like this location. Good job, hubs! Of course I had their waffle. The single portion fit my carby need and no syrup necessary. My palate journeyed through this golden fluffy cushiony soft chewy vanilla-buttery encounter. He decided on the chocolate chip waffle. Those mini rich morsels were peppered everywhere. Fun and tasty. Hubs answered the call of his inner sweet tooth. As long as he's happy. My circularly-formed regular hash browns were crispy on the outside with hashy inners. Paired well with Tabasco sauce. I'm curious of having them scattered on my next WH visit. Absolutely tickled that they offered toasted raisin slices. 2 pieces toasted, buttered, sandwiched, and diagonally-cut. Joy! My Royal Cup hot tea (orange pekoe black tea offered) helped to neutralize the taste buds. If around the area or on a road trip, drop by this WH. Also convenient is a High's next door so you can feed your car too.

Unfortunately for me this place makes me sick to my stomach every single time I go! Not sure if this is a personal thing that just happens to me or everyone has this issue. Either way I won't be returning ever again.

I'm addicted to the patty Melt, hashbrowns with onions and jalapenos. Consistently awesome good food for a chain restaurant.

My faith in Waffle House has been ruined by this store. I've been a fan of the chain since I first discovered it. The food is pretty decent: classically greasy, cheap, and dependable. That was the case at this joint, but the service was terrible, and way not on par with every other WH I'd ever been too. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, not super packed. There were four or five teenaged/20-year-olds manning the place. I had to ask for everything, repeatedly! No menus given to us, no refills, individual items of food arriving more than 10 minutes apart. Where's the charm? Where're the sweaty cooks flipping ten orders at the same time? Waffle House, I'm so disappointed :(

What can i say? My first stop driving south on rt 95 is The Waffle House in Elkton Md. Stopping there has almost become ceremonial. I know I'm in the South when I reach there. I know the restaurant isn't especially pretty, It's not very clean, but it has a jukebox that doesn't have a song that's not at least 10 years old. The service is not that attentive, But it's heartwarming to watch them work as a team. When i order, I have so much food, i am literally surrounded by yummy breakfast food. I order Scrambled Eggs with Cheese, Home fries scattered and smothered (waffle people know what i mean) Raisin Toast with Apple butter, a big slice of Smoked Country Ham and of course, WAFFLES. Good eatin!

Wow!! I went there for the first time on my way to Miami at around 9:00 in the morning it was a little busy but just enough seats for my family and I. The lady came right away and was very helpful, after me changing my order about 3 times she still had a big smile on and said " don't worry we have a lot to choose from" she didn't mess up on anything. The food came so fast almost as fast as a drive throw. Everything was 100% there's a reason they call it Waffle House, I've never had such an amazing breakfast in a restaurant before. I hope all the Waffle House are the same. I now know where to go for breakfast and there lunch menu looks great as well!

Everything I remembered and more. Just how many things can you put on hash browns and if you're going to have one pecan waffle you might as well have two. And our server Spencer was super nice!

Waffle House is the BEST place for breakfast. Every time i go to Waffle House the food is always good, fresh, and hot! I was just here last Sunday, and I got the Peanut Butter Waffles, Chunked Hashbrowns ( and yes the Chunk is HAM!) and sausages. Mmmmmm it was so good, I wish I had some right now. The Waffles were fluffy, the Hasbrowns were crisp golden brown on the outside, and creamy on the inside. You just cant go wrong with Waffle House.

I decided to go big or go home. Triple Angus Burger with drink and side of hashbrowns. For just $6?! Oh, you know me well. Honestly though, there is no clean way to eat this....and by the time you are halfway full...it becomes a chore to eat all the patties. The hashbrowns....are interesting. Very flaky and easily broken apart....but not very flavorful. My fault for expecting McDonald's like hashbrowns, I guess. $10 this place's food would be MUCH better if one is tipsy/drunk. It's like the drunk factor for places like $5 Panda Box, Chicken n Rice (though that's good sober or drunk, but really f**king good drunk), etc. Friendly service, fast food. Just don't expect out of this world flavor delivered to you.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Waffle House, but I 'll try to be objective. This is the closest Waffle House to my neck of the woods, right over the MD line in Elkton. I have never seen one north of that. Food is cheap and tasty. Order the waffles, regular not buttermilk. It is fascinating to watch them cook so many waffles at once. Coffee varies tremendously as does the service. Our waffles arrived, were eaten, then came biscuits, then came bacon. Friendly service, yes, but would've appreciated having breakfast at once. Maybe it wouldn't have fit on our tiny table! Go check it out if you're down that way. Don't hype it up into something its not, but expect basic food made well. Tip your servers well; it's a hard job.

Warning - they put something in the food that causes you to drive great distances to eat there again and again. You may read my reviews, as they gradually build up on here and wonder - does he really go to all these places? And does he really not weigh 500+ pounds? The answers are resounding yeses. There's something about the Waffle House that has always captivated me. Whilst I love IHOP, I've always been more of a waffle kinda kid. On Saturday, aka yesterday, aka June 9th, I found myself traversing to and through our first state. My waffley senses detected a nearby WH and I drove an extra 20 miles, paid $6 in unnecessary tolls, and went to town on some waffles and hash browns. For the record I take mine scattered, smothered, and covered. It's the best $10 my money could buy...though I guess if you factor in gas, tolls, time, etc., etc. it cost more but hey, WH only charged for the waffles and hash browns. They need to consider coming to NJ or NY because 4-5 hours round trip starts to wear me down a bit. But I swear it's all I think about on the way there and it's all I taste on the way back. Perhaps I'm the only one driving this far to eat the product but I'll never claim to be anyone's definition of "normal." If for some reason you make it to Elkton to visit this fine establishment, be sure to go next door to the High's and buy some Berger Cookies - they will change your life. Doubt it? Look them up on the world wide web and let me know what you think.

Great drunk food, but that's because I'm drunk, thinking with my stomach, and ignoring how gross the place kind of is... I don't know if I'd eat there sober. Sorry Waffle House :o(
