Old friends of ours who live in the area took us to Pisco for lunch on Sunday. Large airy and modern dining room with an open kitchen and bar area. We ordered a variety of appetizers to share, some of which were really good (Papa Rellena and Pulpo al Olivo) and some not so great (Tamalitos de Cerdo and Papitas a la Huancaina). The Cheviche Pisco Trio was just ok. We also order their classic charbroiled chicken which was very tasty. All in all, we enjoyed our food (but enjoyed catching up with our friends even more). Service was good. We had a hard time understanding our server who had a heavy accent but we got through our lunch without any problems.

This has become a favorite place and I am always discovering new things on the menu. So nice to have a restaurant that is not a chain in Columbia! I just discovered the pisco sour drink and will definitely try that again. We usually get several appetizers and that works well for trying a range of dishes without committing to the entire meal of one thing. They have fabulous music here too, upbeat lounge type. The lighting and ambiance are unique!

The decorations are very nice in this restaurant but that is as far as it goes. The steak I got was burnt and didnt have any flavor. Also the fried plantains were burnt as well. My wife got cerviche and that was just ok, and her main course was the rice with seafood which was terrible. The staff was friendly but dont waste your money on this restraunt

I am a huge fan of Peruvian food, and I believe I have found my mecca. Let's start with the drinks, which are my favorite part. The Pisco Sour is the signature cocktail offered here, it's also the national drink of Peru. Bottles upon bottles of Pisco Porton line the walls (a nice, imaginative touch). I've had Pisco Sours before, both in restaurants and homemade, and this restaurant does it best. I have no clue how they get the froth on top to be so foamy, but they do it, and it's incredible. Not into alcohol? You're not out of luck. Try the Chicha Morada. It's a delicious, healthy beverage made of blue corn. You won't find the real stuff anywhere but a real Peruvian restaurant. Treat yourself to some true exotic taste and get the chicha! As for the food, they do that right too. The lomo saltado is probably your best bet if you're new to Peruvian food. I would also recommend the ceviche as an appetizer. During my last visit, I went for the beer marinated duck, which was just as good as it sounds. The interior is beautifully well decorated and modern. The lighting is just right. It's perfect for an intimate date night/ a night out with friends/ office outings/ everything. To address the negative reviews, you have to realize that the food served here is exotic. Don't expect Mexican food, and definitely don't expect what you're used to getting at Outback or Chili's. If you've never had Peruvian before in your life (which I assume is the case for most Americans) then you're going to experience new flavors and concepts when you dine here. It's all about being open minded to trying new things. That is after all, the point in chasing down exotic places like this. If you're thinking of giving this place a try, don't let the negative reviews deter you.

I loved everything about this restaurant! The setting, food & drinks were amazing! I would recommend the Pisco Sour and the Sangria. Also, the salmon and quinoa dish was great. I don't remember the name, but it includes salmon, quinoa, seared scallops & cucumbers. Amazing! The ceviche was great as well, but be careful because they are considered an aphrodisiac. Overall, my girlfriend's and I enjoyed our experience and will come back soon.

The only dissatisfaction I had was that I arrived there an hour and half before happy hour. This place is very relaxing and the decor is nice. Service by Carolina was good. It was the type of service that was attentive but not overbearing to the point where you had that being bugged feeling. There are numerous selections ov cerviche to choose from and on my next trip I am looking to try a little something on the warmer side. Don't get me wrong the cerviche was very good but there is so much to try on the menu. The Loma llama drink I had was very refreshing as it was close to the taste of a mojito in my opinion. I could have drank them all day if I was not driving. Remember Yelpers safety first. The calamari appetizer was very good and the tarter sauce was a nice compliment. I thought it was unusual that they added pickled onions on top of the appetizer but it added a nice additional flavor. This is my first time dining here and it will not be my last. I am especially looking forward to dining during there happy hour which is 1500-1900 or commonly known as 3-7.

We ordered the ceviche clasico which was delicious and I felt that you get more than what you pay for ($14) as it was a good amount of serving. My parents got the Parrillada for 2 which consisted of several types of meat. It came with salad and fries. My parents did not want the salad and fries and when we asked if we could substitute for other sides, we were told we couldn't. So we decided to just get additional sides of plantains and rice. They really liked what they got and had plenty of leftover to take home. I thought this was a really good deal for $36. I ended up getting the Lomo Saltada as it said it was a Peruvian favorite and I wanted to see what it was about. It came with white rice and French fries. I really wanted to try their Yucca but again, I was told that "you can't substitute your side for another, but we can take out the fries for you".. Which I thought was weird as I would have gladly paid extra if needed if I could switch the sides. Also, for how expensive it is ($17), I felt that requesting another side is pretty reasonable. Anyway, this "Peruvian favorite" was beef with a whoooole lot of onions with some brown sauce that tasted like straight up soy sauce. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty disgusting. I could barely eat it as the soy sauce or whatever that was, was very overpowering. Service was very slow. We found ourselves flagging our waiter down from across the room since we wouldn't see him for a good amount of time. They initially forgot my parents' sides, extra plates as they weren't about to eat from the serving plate, and steak knives. Ceviche and the Parrillada were good.. But service needs a lot of improvement.

I went back to Pisco again to try more ceviche after the long eating fiasco of Thanksgiving. I am ready for something lighter like fish ceviche. Someone in my party ordered Nikkei, the tuna fish ceviche with peanut, ginger, sesame oil and pisco. I didn't think I will like it but I was surprised to like the sweeter sour and salty ceviche. The sesame oil didn't show up much which is a good thing. Love the sauce!

Great food!! The free starter of fried plaintains and corn was different and tasty, the Ceviche was fresh and flavorful, our shared entree of sizzling meats was cooked juicy and delicious and of course the Pisco Sour was frothy and sweet. Great service, chill atmosphere.

I didn't know what to expect when I walked in here. The vibe is European lounge meets trendy restaurant. NOT what you'd expect in a Columbia strip mall. I came in at 1.30 on a Monday afternoon, and the place was all but empty. I was escorted to a beautiful table and a mini fryer of plantain chips (good) and corn nuts (meh) was placed at my table. Water was served and the pitcher left at the table - like. I ordered the Anticuchitos de Lomo, and the Ceviche Amazónico. I asked to have the ceviche extra spicy. Both dishes came out about the same time and boy am I glad. The beef was a little overcooked but the flavor was incredible. The ceviche was perfect but extremely spicy. I love hot things, so I was ok with it, but be warned, spicy means 10 alarm here. Anyway the dishes balanced each other out, so my taste buds were happy jumping from dish to dish. I will say, I do not care for the cancha , to me they tasted like stale corn nuts. One pet peeve, the corn on the beef dish was served on the cobb, making it difficult to eat. Other cons, they seen really fixated and strict. There's a surcharge for plate sharing ($4), and extra sauce ($1). It just seems a little nitpicky for a place that charges $12 for an appetizer. Overall good place. Will be back with hubster.

Delicious! I have been a fan of Peruvian food for almost 10 years. Since being back in the DMV area, I've had decent experiences in MoCo, but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Pisco, probably more than any Peruvian I've had in awhile. The tacu-tacu, paella, and classic ceviche were delicious. They didn't have tres leche, which is my usual dessert, but their alternative (a creamy layered dulce leche) was really good. The atmosphere is very trendy. We enjoyed it. Will definitely be back and will bring friends.

My mom & I frequent this place a lot. My favorite dish is the Lomo Saltado! The chicken Brazo (rotisserie chicken) is delicious too but only comes with one side. I usually order the fried yucca and plantains as appetizers too. The ambiance of this place is nice and the drinks are great. The entrees can get a little pricy during dinner hours.

Four stars for the food. Two stars for the service. This sums up my experience from this afternoon and the distinction between the food and service rating is an important one for you, dear reader, to note. Food - it's expensive, but good. Come for the happy hour (3-7) which has cheaper drinks and select appetizers are half off! The ceviche trio is a great way to sample some of the variety. The fried plantains side are perfectly balanced between smoky and caramelized. The fried yucca is amazing - crispy outside and fluffy interior - no easy feat. And the sauces that come with it are top notch, especially the spicy salsa verde. Skip the crab wontons - all fried wonton, no filling. The guacamole dip is okay. Drinks - While the Pisco Sour wasn't quite as good as any I had in Cuzco, it was still decent (3 out of 5). My fiancée got something killer with pisco, ginger, and bitters. That's what I would recommend. Service - Pretty substandard. When we came in, there was one other patron in the entire restaurant for about ten minutes, then there was just the two of us for the remainder of our visit. We sat at the bar, and the bartender took at least 2 minutes to acknowledge us and then another two just to bring us menus. After delivering our food he, no, I wouldn't say "disappeared;" he was chatting up coworkers in the corner by the bathrooms. When we finally paid, it took 10 minutes for him to pick up the check when we were clearly ready for him to take it. Saving grace - the manager came over to check on us and make sure our food was good. He was very friendly, attentive, and seemed to give a crap about his patrons' experience. Without him, service would be a sad 1 star. Ambience - Trendy and upscale. A chic and yuppy vibe with the colorful walls and animal sculptures juxtapose with a black and white mural of Machu Picchu. The place looks and feels very clean. I'm not sure if I'll be back. The food was worth coming back for (I definitely want to try the beef hearts!), but if I have to have such an abysmal service experience, probably not.

After living in Lima, Peru for three years I have come to expect a certain level when it comes to ceviche. Unfortunately, Pisco does not serve ceviche. They may call it that but bathing defrosted fish fillets in lemon juice doesn't count as ceviche. If you like ceviche you are better to pass on this place. But to end on a good note the decoration and service was good.

PISCO is a great little neighborhood gem that's tucked away in a small strip mall around the corner from Trader Joe's. If the sign didn't say "peruvian cuisine & ceviche bar", the exterior could just as easily be passed by as just a shoe store or a nail salon. But once inside, the first thing you notice is the subdued mood lighting throughout the restaurant and bar area. Then there are the funky velvet chairs around some of the 4 tops and the huge padded horseshoe shaped booths in the back of the restaurant under the shadow of a giant Machu Picchu mural on the wall. The volume in the room is also low even when relatively crowed, which all combines to create an ambiance that is pure "date night". The first thing to appear on your table is a bowl of warm Andean toasted chulpe corn, (the Peruvian version of corn nuts) and plantain chips. The entrees range from the expected, like Peruvian Chicken and Lomo Saltado, to the more unexpected like Picante de Mariscos, which is a traditional Peruvian seafood dish with a spicy cream sauce fermented in chili paste, sofrito, coconut milk and diced potatoes. The ceviche and the desserts are all artfully presented and equally as delicious. The only downside for some may be that while the dishes at PISCO are all flavorful fusions of Peruvian textures and tastes and the entree prices are very reasonable at $9-$16... I wouldn't describe the portions as extremely generous... More than Tapas, but less than the average American restaurant entree experience. Temper your expectation with that bit of knowledge and you'll enjoy the ride at PISCO's.

I just love reading all of these horrible reviews. If there is one person in the world that deserves all the badness, it's this owner!!! I just feel so bad for his wife kids!

My husband and I had been here about 8 months ago and the food was good. I don't know what happened to this restaurant! I ordered the Peruvian 1/4 chicken. What I got was a measly little leg and sweet potato fries for $12. It was pathetic. Next time I will go across the parking lot to Costco where I can get an entire scrumptious chicken for $4.99. We won't return to this restaurant.

This was my FIRST and LAST time eating at the Pisco Peruvian restaurant located in Elkridge, Md. OMG! It was nasty! I'm sorry but I ordered the Sudado Pescado based on the waitresses recommendation. It was supposed to be filet of fish steamed to perfection with a concentration of garlic, white wine, onions and tomatoes served with yucca and white rice. The fish was covered with a dark, thick red sauce with big pieces of onions and tomatoes. The food was lukewarm. I ate a piece of the fish and quite honestly, I don't know what the hell I was eating. The consistency was odd, it didn't look like fish. It didn't look normal. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I immediately asked them to bag it up. I told the waitress that it wasn't good. She apologized but she didn't offer to remove it from my bill. I was charged $18 (plus tip) when the online menu shows this entree is $13?. I threw the bag in the trash outside the restaurant. That was the worst food I'd ever eaten in a restaurant. I guess that's why there were very few people there. I won't be going back. If you do check the prices too!

Went to Pisco for lunch on a Sunday and had a great experience! Staff was friendly and knowledgable about the menu and ingredients in each dish. There were plantain chips on the table ( really good) and our water glasses were kept full by the beautiful decorative glass bottles left on our table. I started with a small house salad and traditional ceviche for my main course. The salad was average, but the ceviche had a pretty presentation with a variety of corn & hominy kernels, onions, white fish and sweet potato all in a lime juice with cilantro. Our server separated the checks for our group of 6 which made payment run smoothly. We will return and are interested in their brunch menu advertised as coming soon!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the ambience at this establishment. But I could not get pass the number of flies that were inside. I'm hoping I'm the only individual to experience this, it would not allow me to truly enjoy my meal. I was at this establishment for lunch on a cool summer day. Trying to find some excuses for why there were so many flies but nothing.

Ambience is trendy, food is good and the Pisco sours are the best I've had north of Miami. The staff is friendly, menu is creative and authentically Peruvian with some swag, and the bar is truly an ode to Peru's national drink: Pisco, Pisco sour and all its variations!

Hmm this place is a little overpriced. While the decor and ambiance are fancy, it seems to be a bit overdone for the type of restaurant it is. I had their Peruvian chicken, and it was kinda dry. Not bad but definitely not the best I've had. Might try again but the food was just blah not all that memorable.

Great food, I've been here a couple of times and the food is always great. However last time I went around dinner time the service was super slow. No one came to our table for 15 minutes until finally someone showed up and asked if we were being helped. Other than that our experience there was great and will definitely be going back.

Finally got a chance to check this place out. Sunday afternoon for lunch was awesome. Our waiter was on point. He was courteous and patient since it was our first visit. I was disappointed that outside seating we not ready yet since the wether was so beautiful today. The plantain chips and corn nuts was alright for starters. I was boring this time around and ordered grilled chicken. But it was great. Seasoned just right. I had sweet potato fries and plantains as my sides. I also had to Pisco Sour drink. It was $11 bucks but good. I will definitely be back to try something different on the menu.

So I was reading every single review about this place and came across a no-picture reviewer with 1 review named Georgio and he had a picture up of a dish from PISCO. Then I was reading Liza's review of this place and she had the same exact picture up. The one with the "rotten claw". Odd, so I messaged her asking if she was in any way related to Georgio. The next day, Georgio's review wasn't there anymore and it's been a week since the message was sent out and still no response. Hmmm... Anyways, I decided to come here yesterday morning around 11:45am. I went in and was greeted by a waitress since the hostess was already in the process of seating someone else down. I was sat down and she informed me that someone will come and serve me. Cool so as I was looking at the menu, it has a whole section of ceviche which I absolutely LOVE. The menu was pretty big and it has the usual Pollo dishes like 1/4 pound and half chicken with 2 sides. After waiting for about a minute, my waiter came by and was very nice. I told him it was my first time there and asked if he had any recommendations for ceviche. He recommended me getting either the Mixto which comes with Scallops, Octopus, Squid and shrimp or the Pisco Tasting which comes with only fish but with 3 different styles of ceviche; Oriental, Tropical and Classic. Since I was already planning to get their Calamari Appetizer, I decided to get the latter. The 3 styles sounded very interesting. Before he left with my orders, he poured some water into my cup and left the pitcher on the table. What I really really liked is how there were slices of lemon in the water, giving it the taste of lemon water. It would have been even greater if there were more slices in it, giving it a more potent flavor, but this was good. As I waited for my food, I looked at the decor, looked around my surroundings and saw that the place looked comforting. Not too much light but not too dark either, various designs on the walls and how it's laid out, the booth I sat in was very comfortable and relaxing. Overall the place seemed very nice though I can imagine how it would be during the night; loud techno-ish music blasting in the background and who knows what else. Got the Calamari in a reasonable time and it was hot. It came with what I believe to be Garlic Aoli but I may be wrong. It had a pack of pickled onions on top which gave it added flavor from the usual fried goodness of the calamari. It's 11 bucks but big portions and a tasty combination of flavors! I then got the Ceviche a few minutes later and was surprised at the presentation. I thought it would come on a big plate with walls to separate the 3 styles but instead got 3 cups being held by some cup holder thing. Not sure if it's pretentious or if it's "modern" but I didn't mind it, I was focused on the flavors! I tried the Tropical style first and it was DELICIOUS! It was fresh, refreshing, and invigorating, no joke. From the heavy and salty Calamari, this really hit the spot perfectly. It had a cool and fruity taste to it. I then tried the Classic style and that too, was really good and spicy. But when I tried the Oriental style, it was mediocre at best. It was sweet but it had a slightly generic Oriental flavor to it. The portions look small; 3 cups that looks like it has a shallow bottom. However, it's PACKED with chunks of fish. On the top, you'll see their toppings but right under that layer is all the fish. After eating both dishes, I was satisfyingly full. Not like bursting out full but pretty close. The prices may be a bit more than what you'd expect but personally, I feel like it's worth it. I'm not sure about dinner portions and prices but at least for lunch, it was good to me. The food was great for the most part and the service was consistent. I believe PISCO is more a Fusion restaurant than Peruvian.

Well, so I have gotten into grips with my self after the experience I had at this restaurant, first of all I went to Pisco Restaurant on august 24th. I am giving an accurate date so that even if i am posting till now everyone knows when the incident happened. We get there, I see a nice bar with a bartender in and I get all excited about drinking a pisco sour.... We are greeted immediately and taken to the outdoor cafe area, day is gorgeous, perfect for this food. The place has a nice look to it, at some points a little to much...different lighting, different colors, a lot of decoration here and there.... We get our waitress and she takes our drink order, and she says the in.... cola...inco... ichan...incha...ok i think she wanted to say that Inca Kola is a peruvian soda that she recommends...clearly she is not from Peru, but its ok i understand. I say can i have a Pisco Sour...?? and she says oh I am sorry, no liquor license yet...and I go oh? ok? so what is the bartender doing behind the bar?? no answer.. ok its ok. So we decide what to eat, kids will have Tallarines verdes and 1/4 chicken dark with green beans and black beans, husband will eat the chaufa de mariscos for entree and causas for appetizer, I ordered ceviche for entree and choros a la chalaca (mussels) for appetizer. They bring the choros and the causas....so i give one mussel to each of my kids and i ate the rest, my husband tried one too. Causas are funny tasting, i decided to try the claw that came in one of the causas...and dam is spoiled...ammonia taste in the making...yukkkkkkk... i put it away and that was bad already...but i still ate some of the other causas that werent touching the claw...there were three types..... not my favorite...is was blend and just unappealing... So one of my kids doesnt want to eat the mussel and i decide to take it from him, when i moved all the tomato away from it...i suddenly rolled over a black looking thing....WTF...WTF...WTF....ITS A FREAKING ASS FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I ALMOST VOMITED....by then they had already brought the tallarines verdes the rice for my husband and the chicken for my other kid...chicken was ok, tallarines verdes were the must horrible thing i have ever tried and the chaufa was bland as my shoe...wow.... But after the FLY I just called the waitress and told her i wanted nothing...we gave her the plate with the fly and told her about it...few seconds later the manager appears and apologizes...and she says..." well your ceviche is ready" and I said...no mam i really dont want to eat no more...and she goes " ok ill make sure we dont put it on your tab" and i am like "what why would you"? she said also we will take care of the bill...and i was like ok maybe they wont charge for the awful food that they just presented... Well pointless to say we didnt eat...my babies didnt finish anything, my husband couldnt swallow the rice...and i had already in my stomach...fly residue from the lime cooking it with the tomato and the mussel....yuk...just to remember it makes me want to throw up... Server comes with the bill...what a bill??? and yes it is a bill for 68.00 dollars ....they did bill us for all the food...except the ceviche which i didnt eat or received, and they discounted the mussels...everything else was on the bill... I was so frustrated...and aggravated..I didnt want to even speak...she saw the freaking fly on my plate..it was there...I am not that kind of person that wants to get a free meal out of putting a fuck....g fly on my food...didnt she notice we bearly touched anything??? all the food was still on the table.... But ok, we paid and left...sorry i know it is a new restaurant...but hygiene and customer service is something you know since the very first day... See the pictures and it tells my story...

I've been to many many Peruvian restaurants in the DMV area... This one will not be one of my top favorites unfortunately. Walking in, the decor is really nice. Shades of blue, red and black, candlelit tables, a big Machu Picchu picture on the wall. It looks very nice. On to the food, we ordered Choros a la Chalaca for an appetizer. They were amazing! They were a little spicy but I liked that. For our meals, the bae got ceviche classico and I got anticuchos de corazon. He was asked if he wanted the ceviche spicy and he said just a little bit spicy. We both like spicy foods. However, It came back so spicy that it was unenjoyable for him. I tried it and my lips were on fire after just one spoonful. The taste was good but the burn was so strong it was terribly unpleasant. So be cautious about saying yes to spicy. My anticuchos... Unfortunately the worst anticuchos I've had at any of the Peruvian restaurants I've been too. And I always get anticuchos. They weren't very flavorful, and they were burned black. I hate that burnt taste. It's a shame. I was hoping they would be good to end my experience well. So maybe it was a bad day for the chef. But I probably won't be back, I can't go back just because my appetizer was good :/

I went there for the first time yesterday not knowing what to expect. I am a foodie and I love trying new places. I enjoy a great dinner and drink(s) solo at the bar on my ideal night out. My friend was raving about this place and when I saw it, I had to check it out. The inside was 100% different then what I was expecting looking at it from the outside. You can tell the owners spent a lot of time making this place super classy, elegant but not over the top in the least bit. I thought the decor was an A++! Unfortunately, I am giving this review with only trying 1 item on the menu. I got the fish soup (Little pricey at $17) but was a meal for me. The bowl is deceiving because you look like you are getting a HUGE portion but it is mostly broth. The seafood at the bottom was fantastic and enough for a meal. The only negative thing I can think of if any was you could tell this place was new...or I hope it was new. Some of the staff seemed confused when I order a drink off the menu and the 1 staff member didn't describe my soup correctly when I was deciding to order it. I asked if it was a red broth and she insisted it was not red or cream...not sure what I expected but it was red when it came out....NOT A BIG DEAL! fantastic still! VERY CLEAN!!! will be back!

So I ventured in again. The restaurant is new so there are a lot of things they are still trying to iron out. Embedded on my review, you will see my recommendations. I visited around 6p on a Sunday and the restaurant wasn't too busy. I was seated immediately and approached by my server just as quickly. My waitress, I believe her name was Yolanda, was great. I should have had her choose my entire meal instead of just the app & the dessert. The restaurant is awaiting a liquor license and they are uncertain of its timeline. They are telling people that they will honor BYOB. They do offer Pepsi products. The beverage list is not listed on the menu, so that needs to be updated. I like tea with my dinner. They don't have hot tea, but I was able to get hot water with lemon & that suited me just fine. I wanted the ceviche, but nothing spoke to me and it could be the way the description was written. I really wanted a fresh white fish with red onion, avocado & plum tomatoes with cilantro. For the appetizer, I had the papa rellena. First, although there is a description of each dish on the menu, it needs to be rewritten as it doesn't translate well to the preparation of the dish. The dish needs a sauce or more sauce. A schmear garnish is not adequate. The dish is served with red onion. Red onion should be the garnish and not the dish. Who ever plated did so excessively with the red onion. It's unnecessary. The dish is delicious. Slightly dry, but flavorful. For dinner, I ordered the Seco de Cabrito. It's listed as goat, but you are served lamb. I was not told of this prior, I learned after being served and asking the server why my goat tasted like lamb. The lamb was over cooked. It was cooked well done & dry. Had I expected lamb, I would have requested it be cooked medium rare in fat. It was however, flavorful yet smothered in a disturbingly poo colored green sauce. The plate was accompanied by a white rice. The rice, I was told was jasmine rice. It was very dry. It was clear that it was over steamed. They should consider monitoring cook times & serving it with a cilantro butter. The pinto beans looked and tasted like vomit. I'm uncertain if they contained onions or peppers. The taste was so revolting I couldn't distinguish any of the seasonings beyond the over usage of acid (citrus). The plate itself was not visually appealing. The protein looked like poo, the beans vomit & the rice dry & uninviting. The plate needs to be revisited. It should be colorful & appetizing, not what I was presented. For dessert I ordered the crema volteada. It was decent. Very clean & sweet. The presentation was lovely. If they ever want to kick it up a notch, they may consider a light dust with cinnamon & a garnish of jullianed candied orange & lemon peel. I was allowed to sample the arroz con (I can't remember). I complained about everything and it killed me to be THAT girl, so when asked I wasn't honest when they asked how this dessert was. The truth was: it was overly made with cinnamon & it was busy. It was more like arroz con gumbo. Everything you can imagine was in that dessert and as much as I love dessert, my taste buds weren't trying to be about this one. After my first bite, my taste buds screamed NOPE. They have never done that before. The entire meal was less than $40 for just me. The pricing us decent, they just need to work on making the food worth it. Everything on the menu should be appetizing, visually appealing, moist, flavorful & in demand. I will say, my waitress was amazing. I hated to be the bearer of bad news & express my disappointment in all of the dishes, but she and the manager were understanding. They did ask to give me something else and I politely declined. Frustrated, I did say they should just put me in their kitchen to teach them how to do things. My overall impression of this restaurant was dry and unremarkable. That's not the essence of their ambiance or the Peruvian culture, so I know they can do better. I really have faith in this restaurant, I do want it to succeed. But they need a better executive chef, they need to redo the menu, redo the writing of the descriptions, redo the recipes, practice cooking all of the items, teach the sous chefs how to plate and they need to hire me to give everything the final stamp of approval. I will go back in 3 months. Hopefully, by then, they will have corrected the issues.

The place is very nicely decorated. It really looks like a night club. But it's because in the weekend and I think it's Friday and Saturday they have a live dj and live music. The food was ok. I have been to other Peruvian restaurants that have allot more flavor. Over all place is nice but I'd rather go for food not for decor.

Very very disappointed to say the least. The ceviche had nothing but skin and cartilage and it was impossible to eat. It also smelled like a rotten crotch. IM NOT JOKING!!!! The quality compared to other restaurants in the city is extremely poor. The manager also was offended when I brought it to his attention. My boyfriend got the ravioli and the dough was hard as a rock with very little filling. It was a battle to get the ceviche off the check. I do not recommend this at all. I feel sick to the stomach as I write this. Can we at least get one good restaurant to open up in Howard county?

I went to Pisco a couple weeks ago with a few friends, and it was a pleasant experience. To start us off, we were given a free basket of plantain chips and corn nuts, as well as water with lemon slices in it. A couple people ordered the lomo saltado, which we understood to be one of the most popular dishes. It was quite a generous portion, and pretty delicious as well. The sirloin strips were tasty and not tough at all. I ordered the tradicional ceviche, and unfortunately, they forgot the aji chile on the side. However, there was a enormous amount of sliced fish. The ceviche was in an lime/acidic sauce, giving the white fish some flavor. the sides of the ceviche were corn nuts, red onions, large corn kernels, and sweet potatoes, which provided a balance to the sour sauce. another friend ordered a seafood rice dish, which he finished and thought was delicious and had a good amount of actual seafood protein in it. The interior of Pisco is rather upscale compared to the restaurants (sub shops) and stores next to it. The mood lighting made it feel like as if we weren't in a suburban restaurant next to Costco, and we got to sit in one of the semi-circle booths. I can definitely see myself coming back here for special occasions.

I ate here again last night, as I typically do when traveling to Columbia for work. Was given only one part of the menu and I asked for Peruvian Chicken. Now since this is a Peruvian place and I had it many times here before, I was shocked when the waitress said they save the Peruvian Chicken for take out and earlier meals (7:30 is not late). Ordered something else, tacu tacu and it was ok. Gentleman sits down next to us and a different waiter takes his order, PERUVIAN CHICKEN!! He gets his order and enjoys it. I question my waitress and she blows me off. Not happy with this experience at all

I'm Peruvian, food was not even close to the real deal. For good Peruvian chicken go to Chicken Rico, and Puerto 511 for gourmet Peruvian food. Not going back there ever again. Also, doubled charged our credit card and when called to get it fixed, manager acted like he was doing us a favor, after repeated calls with no callback the manager's answer was "I'll do it when I have time".... Not going there again, EVER!

I grew up eating homemade Peruvian food, so I'm picky when it comes to certain dishes. A group of 4 of us came here the other night for dinner and were pleased. The papa a la huancaina was perfect, it has been a long time since I've been to a restaurant that can get the sauce just the way I like it. The anticuchos appetizer was also cooked perfectly, flavorful, tender and seasoned just right, all of us enjoyed it. These two dishes are why they get 5 stars from me. My husband ordered the lomo saltado, and said it was decent. Our friends enjoyed their ceviche. I ordered the classic ceviche and the fish was very fresh. Overall, the service was great, decor and ambiance very nice. We will definitely be back, and I'm looking forward to trying their desserts.

Pisco is the best restaurant I have tried in the Columbia area so far. I've been there twice, and the first time I took my in-laws, who are from Bolivia (and are very familiar with Peruvian food), and they loved it! We had a variety of appetizers: tiradito classico, carpaccio de pulpo, and trio de ceviches, all of which were very good! I also love the complimentary corn and plantain chips they serve in place of bread. The corn is addicting! I couldn't stop munching on it during the whole dinner... The entrees were really good as well, though a bit on the large size for me. For two people, I would recommend trying a couple of appetizers and share an entree. We tried arroz de mariscos, pique macho, and two of the pastas. It was too much food. But I had it for lunch the next day and it was still pretty good. I very much recommend this place.

I was pretty excited to check this place out as I've heard that the food is quite interesting. Service was friendly but a little under polished as my server had some trouble answering questions about the menu that I didn't think were too complex. food was ok, not bad. I guess maybe I was hoping for more. The food was a little more bland than I expected. I'll probably be back to give it one more shot.

everyone deserves a second chance. while Pisco is not an authentic Peruvian restaurant, it blends the ingredients and flavors of Peru to create many familiar dishes. i'm not a big fan of ceviche and frankly, Pisco does a mediocre job of it. however, lomo saltado and other more traditional Peruvian dishes are executed well. even the desserts were tasty and i find the prices to be very reasonable for the quality and the quantity of food at an upscale environment. when Pisco first opened, they had a lot of growing pains as the early reviews highlight. after changing the head chef and some kitchen staff, everything from the food to service has improved dramatically. it rivals the best Peruvian restaurants in the area. give it a second chance....

A lot of detail went into this restaurant. Aesthetics. Process. Food. And it didn't go unnoticed. Everyone was professional, everything was clean, the seating and tables were nice, and the food was fantastic. This is almost too nice for Columbia. I had one of the cerviche dishes and it was phenomenal. It's rare to have a plate in Columbia, where everything that was plated made sense, and it all went well together. My girlfriend's dish had fries on it, and I stole some. Even the fries were done perfectly - Geezus. They are by far the best fries I've had in town. They have the details down all the way down to the FRIES. Well down Pisco, well done.

Pisco's does not get my vote for a new place to go. The food was fine, the service wasn't, so we only tipped about $5. So today, Capitol one sent me an email asking if we really wanted to give such a generous tip.. food $20.14, tip $19.90! I called and talked to the manager and all he was concerned about was that our food really was 34 something and we gave a $ 5 tip so we were charged the right about. I said aren't you concerned about your employee and he said I think your CC gave you wrong information. I asked him if he could verify his receipts and he basically said we were charged the right amount so everything should be fine. I said but aren't you concerned about your employee? and he basically told me to have a nice day and hung up! rant over... never going back

Great ceviche, Arroz de Mariscos, and Peruvian Chicken. The atmosphere is really modern, kind of unexpected in a shopping center but certainly not a bad thing. We went next door to Perfect Pour and grabbed a bottle of Dry Creek Fume Blanc (great recommendation!) to go with our meal, looking forward to Pisco getting a liquor license as the bar is ready to go. Definitely will return!

I absolutely love the decor, don't like they don't have a liquor license. BUT, the worst is the food came and a bunch of gnats came with it. Spoke to management he did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Therefore I will not recommend or return to this place.

I've heard about this restaurant and wanted to try it out for a while, the place has great ambiance, loved the seats and semi round booth, we ordered drinks and got a delish maracuya smoothie? Or maybe sorta Frozen maracuya drink, had to get a second one being so good, had the ceviche tasting and to be honest the classic was the only good one, but so little fish and so much onions! When the entrees arrived my two friends got their food and mine came after they were done, I ordered chupe and don't know what took them so long to reheat, any ways it had a lot of shrimp but it was bland, service was a little slow and they were not even full, also some of the waiters were so unfriendly, you would think they don't need the tips. Over all 2.5 stars.

Foods are terrible, bland and salty. The menu selection is quite boring. The waiters are not focused and spacey. But the ambience is good; if you are ready to pay the outrageously priced menu to enjoy the ambience. Restaurant Rescue is definitely needed here. Good visit for a novelty and curious mind. Not good for repeat visits

Ordered carry out from here a few weeks ago. Peruvian chicken with a side of rice, black beans, and yucca. The outside has a nice patio which would be fun during the summer, and the inside looks very nice and classy. I bet this would be a fun place to have some drinks on a Friday night. Unfortunately, that's where the fun stops. The chicken, rice, and beans tasted bland, like there was no seasoning. The yucca was good (it's just yucca, though). The two sauces were just okay. Their flavor was there, but they were definitely watered down as we could tell in their taste and consistency. Oh, and did I mention the hair we found on the chicken? When we called to let the owner know, he offered to comp us some food next time we come in. Next time?? Are you kidding?

Never noticed this place before even though I frequent Trader Joe's which is connected by the same shopping center. Would have never thought a beautiful place like this would be in a regular shopping center. Could definitely fit in a more urban setting in DC. I hadn't had ceviche since the last time I was in Mexico (about 8 yrs ago, yikes!). Ended up getting a sampler. Glad I did because I found a favorite and was able to not waste money on the flavor a that didn't agree with my palate. My server Alex (hope that's his name) was great. Didn't get to try the drinks as I had given up everything but water for Lent. I will definitely try them out for happy hour as well! Loved it!

You should go there just to admire/gawk at the hipster decor, although there's nothing Peruvian about it. It is beautiful and very NYC...I cannot even begin to imagine the big $$$ invested in the renovation from a fast-food pizza joint. An older gentleman in a plaid shirt, jeans, and suspenders chatted me up in Peruvian Spanish and made my first visit very special. He is probably the owner's father and far more representative of the friendly, warm Peruvian culture than the hoity-toity decor and jazz music would suggest. Now, for the important stuff: the FOOD is consistently good. Best chicken you will ever taste, the best ceviche I've had in 25 years -- here or anywhere in Latin America -- the yuca was fried to perfection and it was sliced yuca, not those smashed yuca croquets served in many Peruvian chicken joints. Very nicely seasoned pinto beans. Bottom line: you must try the chicken, but go back to sample other dishes as well.

I had the Nikkei ceviche on the recommendation of our waitress. Tons of flavor with an Asian fusion twist. Has a great spicy kick at the end. I did the medium level, if you don't eat spicy food get the plain. My wife had a rice and mixed seafood dish. Very good as well. It is a nice option for someone who doesn't want to dive into ceviche. They also serve a nice helping of roasted corn and plantains while you wait for your food. Definitely saving room for rice pudding the next time we are here.

I figured I'd five this place a second chance..I WAS WRONG. The ceviche was gross, the causa app was horrible..why mess with traditional and delicious dishes? They added things and made it worse. EVERYONE...YOU WANT AMAZING PERUVIAN FOOD GO TO ROCKVILLE..LA LIMEÑA OR LA CANELA...BOTH GREAT. Pueto 511 in Baltimore is also to die for. Save your money people, Dont go to pisco.

fresh, yummy, perfectly served! Had the white meat chicken dinner and drink for under 10.00. The only reason rating wasn't five stars is that the music was too loud for me inside. Booths are fun, waiter really wanted us to enjoy ourselves and we did.

I was glad to see a peruvian restaurant in Columbia, MD. I really want this one to succeed on their own merits. They just started, so I'm going to give them the "benefit of the doubt" on some of the dishes. For a first experience, we feel that both dish presentation and location environment drove the experience. We started our appetizers with "papa rellena" which was good, and so was the "causa" (although I'd have liked some sauce or more elegance to it). Maybe this plate in particular was not what we were aiming as we saw others getting a much different plate presentation. Stay away from the "Tiradito Pisco" (not worth the price or the "gourmet" experience). This plate had 5-6 long pieces of fish (literally) that left us questioning the plate entirely. Entree portions were decent. The "Lomo a lo pobre' was very good (nice steak size). The "salchipapa" entree had no sauces and we missed spices throughout the entire meal (no "rocoto", or any other sauce was offered for that matter). The "arroz con mariscos" was good (size and flavor), but again lacked some "rocoto sauce" or something to accompany the dish. The "jalea" was average (terrible sauce on the side) and the "salsa criolla" (onion based) lacked some taste (no salt). Desserts saved the meal with a oversized "alfajor", the "arroz con leche", the "lucuma" and "jicama" ice-cream (at least, that's what we remember from it). I was surprised they didn't have "picarones", but glad to see they offered "mazamorra". We suspect they were busy on that night (Saturday), but it took a while to get our meal. Very pleasant service overall.

I went here for dinner one night after the SO and myself were doing our regular Trader Joe/Perfect Pour run. We had been planning for some time to find a Peruvian/Ceviche restaurant an this one certainly fit the bill. Our server was just wonderful and highly recommended we try anything seafood based. We ordered a plate of the Mixto and another seafood dish whose name escapes me at the moment. It was delicious! The seafood was very fresh and we happily gobbled it up. Despite living out in Baltimore, we would happily make the trek back to Columbia to eat here again!

We visited this restaurant on a Thursday eve @ 5 PM. Decor great.Only one other couple were present. The place sure smelled great. We were excited to eat some tasty dishes. We were surprised by the unexpectedly very upscale prices, so we ordered simpler. The appetizer papa roleno arrived still ice cold in the middle inside, so we sent it back. The replacement arrived 10 min later & was just cool in the center but got hotter toward the ends. Why we ate the roasted corn and chip We ate due to hunger but didn't enjoy so much. We also ordered the antichucho lomo & novo andina w/chicken. The beef in a stick of the anticucho was delicious and tender. The peruvian corn was amazing w/ very large kernals and so chewy and full of corn taste.

I went twice with my friends since it's been open, we sat outside on the patio which gives off a good vibe - but I still got bit by mosquitoes even with the citronella candles. The inside is also very colorful and pretty. Both times I got the same waitress, who was good and attentive throughout the night. It's also awesome that it's BYOB for now so we took a visit next door at the Perfect Pour for a bottle of wine. Waitress had wine opener and glasses for us, which was fortunate as I thought we had to bring our own opener. The first time, we tried the tradito clasico ceviche (fresh but expect 6-7 thin slices, not what we were thinking) and lomo saltado (delicious combo of beef, veggies, rice and fries) my fav! The second time, we tried a traditional ceviche (delicious/fresh and goes well with the sweet potato on the side), 1/2 charbroiled chicken with sides of fried yucca and plantains (delicious!), tallarines a la huancaina y lomo (medallions w/ noodles, the beef were a bit large/bland for my taste. We originally wanted to try the home made chicken ravioli which they were sold out of that night so we picked this instead), Jalea (fried seafood dish, reminds me of calamari and such, nothing special), and the lomo saltado again (which is a fav among everyone!). I'll go back again!

Outstanding service, food, decor, and ambience. Plus prices are very reasonable considering the excellent food. Byob is also a plus!! Highly recommend this place. The mixto ceviche with shrimp, scallops, and squid was incredible. The traditional peruvian chicken was the best. Enjoy!

Went to Pisco and was not disappointed. The quality found at their cousin restaurant, Facci's, is here too. We had ceviche, broiled chicken and roast pork. All excellent, plus the plantain was outstanding, we will definitely return with high expectations to try other dishes on the menu.

The quality, quantity and pricing of the food is great. Been a half dozen times and always do the whole chicken for the kids. Ceviche is really good and the kids like the corn kernels they bring to the table. Only negative was that when they got crowded service fell apart a little.

We went in for lunch, and the place was mostly empty. Were seated immediately, and were pretty impressed by the decor and the ambiance - Columbia is in dire need of a swanky restaurant. Food was pretty good. My boyfriend had the ceviche and enjoyed it, and I had the Sandwich Triple - advertised as three slices of bread with hardboiled egg, avocado and tomato. It came out with mayonnaise on it (which I don't remember seeing in the description), and two very small slices of tomato. Kind of disappointing, but overall it tasted good. And the side of fries was very good! We weren't drinking, but I hope they get their liquor license soon.

I loved everything about this place. My server was super sweet and fun to talk to. The ambience is simply gorgeous. The tables and the chairs are so huge, I just sank right in. It was so comfortable. They bring out a large jug of lemon water and put it on the table, which I really liked because I drink a lot while I eat, and was never out of water. We had the ceviche mixto, which was probably the best ceviche I have ever had. Other places give you a small plate with mostly veggies and not enough seafood, but the mixto was a big plate and endless seafood. We also got the fried calamari, because honestly, you can't ever go wrong with that. We shared the parrillada para 2 (for two), which came with steak, sausages (not the hot dog kind, btw), and a chicken (we got the dark meat) , which also came with a salad and fries on the side. The chicken was so juicy and the steak was perfectly cooked. The ceviche and the fried calamari actually filled us up, but when the main entree came out, it smelled and looked too delicious to not keep eating. This place really reminded me of home, Chile, and I will definitely be going back. And for dessert, you have to get the helado de lucuma. The best ice cream there is.

We tried Piscos for dinner for the first time on Friday and it was a very different experience. They dont have their rotisserie chicken meal at all. We were so disappointed. The place is very attractive. Three of us ordered the very inexpensive chix dish with 2 sides and were completely satisfied. I ordered a mixed seafood dish one word of which was chalupa. I was very satisfied with my dish because it had strong and unusual spicing. Service was decent. Some reviewers advised that it wasn't authentic Peruvian cuisine, which matters not at all to me as long as I like the food. Admittedly, Pisco is in Elkridge, which is not an authentic Peruvian city.

We were there for the first time and had a bit of lunch. We both had ceviche. My wife had the Nikkei and I had a three types of fish combination, I forgot the name. They were both delicious, and we will definitely return to try other stuff, as this is our introduction to Peruvian cuisine.

Gorgeous place, great service, delicious authentic food with fabulous presentation! Ceviche sampler was the best appetizer, and the entrees were generous and very tasty. Try PISCO-you won't be disappointed! And give them a break on the liqour issue--it's not easy to obtain a liquor licence but of course they are working on it, the owners told us about all the red tape to get it. Just go grab a bottle of wine next door until they do. They'll bring you beautiful glasses to drink out of and won't charge you a cork fee.

Service sucked, we are from Peru and the ceviche did not look right. It was a party of four and one of our orders was never put in... So one of us didn't eat and they tried to bill us for it even though it never came out. That was just the service... Later my card got billed for over 200 dollars in November and didn't notice it until ANOTHER 200 was taken out in December.. Called the restaurant and the manager said it was an error on my end that my bank is at fault... Shady.. He said he doesn't see any charges at his end, but when I called the bank to dispute the charges they told me it was manually charged... Sooo they ended up saving my card info which they aren't suppose to do but my bank is disputing it for me.. People do say the food is ok but because of the experience and they shadiness the manager pulled I will never go back or recommend it. There are other Peruvian restaurants that are actually honest and as a Peruvian that loves food, there is no comparison in downtown baltimore and downtown rockville.

I look forward to having a Peruvian restaurant in our area. But this one has a long way to go. I realize they've only been open for a month or so, but it doesn't excuse the poor, sloooow service (no water refills, no checking back if all is okay or if you need anything, etc). The food was generally poor. Short ribs my friend had were way over cook - hard as rock, NOT fall-off-the-bone tender. My dish pecante marisco (sp?) - a seafood dish was missing most of its seafood. Before I ordered our waiter confirmed the dish consisted if mahi, calimari, & mussels. Had 5 calimari rounds, 2 mussels & NO mahi. When I raised this with the waiter he disappeared & didn't come back until check time. Had to flag down another waiter for water refills. I mentioned my missing main ingredient to the owner/mgr going table-to-table to say hi and he laughed talked a little Spanish with our friend & moved on never the bit concerned about our dissatisfaction. My wife's dish unexpectedly came with 3 side sauces with no explanation by the quick-to-leave waiter. She isn't fond of spicy food and the green, pesto looking sauce turned out to be a VERY hot sauce. Since the waiter and water were absent relief had to wait until we could flag some for water! They have not been granted a liquor license so don't expect a nice pisco sour, beer or wine with your meal. Too bad. We all hoped this was going to good - after all I believe the same group who own Facci restaurants own these. Should have been much better and no excuse for the poor service. Kitchen, well by now they should be able to prepare their "signature" entrées. We might check back 6 months from now, if they're still around.

Ate here for the first time today. Went for lunch. Ordered the Ceviche Mixto and Lomo Saltado (my wife and I shared these two dishes). Both dishes were well prepared and enjoyable. I would order them again, but want to try other menu items next time. The service was a little bit on the slow side; especially for lunch (need to get back to work). My only other criticism is that many menu items weren't available. I assume they are still ironing out some kinks being a new restaurant. I look forward to going again soon. Oh, the alfajores cookie for desert was the real deal. Reminded me of my mother's alfajores from when I was a child. Viva Peru and Peruvian food!

My sister and I anticipated thus restaurant to open for months. Our first visit when they opened wasn't so pleasant as the staff didn't have much of a personality and for being a ceviche place they didn't offer all the ceviche they had list on their menu. We did order take out and our bill was about 75.00 which wasn't the issue. When we got home a piece of hair was in our food. We ended up tossing it out and ordered pizza. Our second visit was much better with service and our waitress was great, they don't yet have their liquor license so we brought our own, which was fine probably much cheaper to do so. We ordered our food and once more we found hair not only in the ceviche but in my sisters food as well. They took both items off the bill but offered to do nothing else. I was grossed out and told them to take the food I ordered and throw it away as they still offered to do nothing extra. We definitely will not go back as 2 out of 2 visits and hair both times is inexcusable!!!!

Was there the first week and really liked it...our server was on another planet. Completely discombobulated and very scattered. ..well first week. They also forgot to plate part of my dinner and were mildly apologetic. They did not offer to reduce the cost. We just "ate" that. So tried to go.back today tk make a reservation for tomorrow. Now they dont reservations. Its actuaaly a deal breaker for me. Fodd was good but I dont stand in line. Good luck Pisco. I'll check back when you take reservations.

The three stars comes mostly from the decor and ambiance. Food wise, definitely not impressed at all. Being Peruvian ourselves, we were really excited to try some of our favorites. Neither the papa rellena or the anticuchos were worth raving about. The bistec a lo pobre was extremely bland.... so bland that some of my leftover sauce from the lomo saltado was swept on to that plate to make the dish a tad better. The sauce on the lomo saltado had good flavor but was over served so much that it almost came off too rich (and hence the leftover). Unlike another reviewer, we were notified that the seco de cabrito would be served with lamb rather than goat as printed on the menu, and the meat was fine but the pinto beans were definitely undercooked. We were overall underwhelmed and not likely to consider a second visit.

Just had dinner there with my husband and son. Great meals. I had the Jaleo - seafood and yucca. My son had seafood with rice and egg, my husband the goat, beans and rice. We all enjoyed the meals. We are not experts in this cuisine, but enjoyed our meals very much. The seafood included mussels, shrimp, and calamari. The service was prompt and attentive. Instead of chips we were served roast corn and plantain chips. Yum! We will be going back.

I'm very disappointed in the service received. The waiter Octavio was as rude as they get. I visited this restaurant today with my coworkers for lunch. We are were a group of 9. He said we couldn't get separate checks and only 4 cards would be accepted. So after everyone paid their portion I was told my portion was more than it should've been. When I questioned this he answered with a horrible attitude and told me to see the rules about splitting the check on the menu. I asked him why he was being rude and even apologized that we had a party with different payment methods. After going back and forth with this guy he had the nerve to tell me not to come back. I couldn't believe the lack of customer service. We had planned to come back to this place for a company paid lunch but have now decided to go elsewhere. The food is good but will no longer visit this place because they don't value their customers. Will definitely try reaching out to the manager with my concern.

We went to this restaurant for the first time today. Our server was nice, but that was about all that was. We order an appetizer (calimari) and both my husband and I ordered two separate dishes. The appetizer took 20 minutes to come out and our dinner came out at the exact same time. My food came out and was extremely salty, I asked for another bowl of tiny rice (which was only 3 spoons worth) to try and mask the rice, I was told it was $4. My husband order the mahi mahi dish. The sauce really didn't have much flavor. Overall it was a bit pricey and not worth going there again.

Wow people who know nothing about Peruvian food get to rate .... First Pisco sour is not A drink from Peru and Chile is just from Peru, second ceviche is very fishy well ceviche started just as fish ceviche later on start being made with other seafood like octopus etc, third the food is good sometimes We Peruvians expect to get it exactly as like in Peru but you cannot get all the exact fresh ingredients, so for what it is is good, a lot better than many many restaurants that want to pretend they sell Peruvian dishes. The service i find it Great i have been there 8 times already and never had an issue, ( i owned a seafood restaurant in Peru) i was in Peru 6 months ago and went to all or almost all best Peruvian Restaurants and definitely i can tell a dish is good, decent or bad, and their food is in the good neighborhood, this is a new place and might need to work in some areas but to say the food is gross or ceviche is to fishy it just sound like a Peruvian judging japanese hibachi??? I mean how do we know how is suppose to be or should i say ... This sushi is bad because ia rare fish??? I dont mean to offend anybody but the place is beautiful and the times i been there which always include one ceviche to start it have been well done...

For a restaurant to boast that it's a Peruvian restaurant that follows the traditions of its origins, and to boast about how the potato is native to Peru, you would think they would serve something other than basic, generic, frozen french fry potatoes that you could get at TGI Friday's or any other fast food restaurant. The first indication of this place being a rip off, I asked about the goat stew and the server informed me that it was actually lamb. I said perhaps you should change the menu. She said probably. I then ordered two things. First, the ceviche. It's tilapia, frozen farm-raised tilapia, probably bought at the Costco across the street. Tilapia in a ceviche? Are you kidding me? Second, I ordered their "most popular" item, the lomo saltado, which is billed as an "authentic Peruvian dish". Apparently this "authentic dish" consists of a ton of onions, the aforementioned generic french fries, two cups of plain white rice, a load of black sauce that tastes like soy sauce, and maybe 6 tiny pieces of steak. All for $18. Disgusting, and quite offensive to the Peruvian culture if you ask me. Besides the cool interior of the restaurant, and the expensive car parked outside of the restaurant (probably the owner's, since I've seen it parked there every time I've driven by this place), there isn't much else good to write about. Perhaps instead of putting money into the facade of a good restaurant, they should go ahead and pour their money into finding authentic Peruvian recipes, and quality ingredients to serve to their already over-paying and duped customers. Diners beware.

No, no, no, no, no!!! Just no. I came here tonight with a party of 5. The restaurant was almost at full seating capacity with just a couple open tables left. The hostess brings us over to a table that seats a party of 4 and then says they actually didn't have any tables that sit a party of 5 so she starts to bring us back up to the front. We asked if she could put a chair at the end of the table and she says, "No, I don't think so." Uhh having worked as a hostess before at a busy restaurant I'm kind of boggled as to why they couldn't do that. The main goal in any restaurant is to maximize seating and accommodate guests to make money and be a successful business, no? We were contemplating on leaving after she told us the wait would be 25-30 minutes... Not really sure how long we waited, but we were finally seated. My dad and my brother ordered 2 ceviches (Tradicional and Mixto) to start off. The food came out all randomly. The 2 ceviches and my dad's red snapper dish, then a little less than 10 minutes later, 2 other dishes, and then 5 minutes later the other two. I was not a fan of the ceviche at all. I got the Arroz con Mariscos. Did not taste the garlic and white wine. A couple bites into the dish, I bit down on something hard and it was a piece of a mussel shell. Few pieces had broken off, um ouch my teeth hurt. I was also not a fan of the dijon mustard they put on top of the onions. Why... My brother ordered the Lomo Saltado. The sirloin strips were tough... The fries were probably the best part of that dish. My mother got the Picante de Mariscos. one bite was all I needed. The sauce was just lacking... I didn't bother to try the other dishes (the red snapper and Tacu Tacu), but my dad did not enjoy the red snapper either. Now onto dessert. You can't mess up on dessert can you? We ordered the Crema Volteada and Mousse de Maracuya. Can I just say no..... The pros? I like how modern the place looks and the overall environment/ambiance of the place. That's about it. The food was just not good at all. You can get better & authentic Peruvian food at hole in the wall places like in Wheaton. Won't be back, sorry! x

The ceviche is absolutely amazing here! This was my second time in and I've had a different ceviche each time. The flavor is spot on and the fish is fresh. Had the mixto this time which has octopus, fish, scallops, and shrimp. Only complaint is there was only one shrimp. This plate is also served with peruvian corn, the toasted corn nuts, and then a sweet potato. The sweet potato looks like it wouldn't amount to much but it is AMAZING! Tastes like a pumpkin pie. We actually asked for a side plate of just the sweet potato as a dessert! The decor is nice albeit a very mixed theme. They don't have a liquor license yet but you can go 2 stores over and get anything you like and bring in. If you like ceviche this is an absolute must!

I lived in Peru for several years, and this is the first place I have found with Ceviche like it is in Lima. It was so good, so fresh. I ordered the Traditional Ceviche, medium hot. It was on the spicy side, I haven't eaten aji Rocoto for a few years now. I will order mild next time. Their menu was large, I hope to go back soon to try more dishes! The service was excellent, very good place, and nice modern atmosphere. The Ceviche bar is beautiful..

Seafood & Spice - That's Nice! ...A long planned lunch for this strip center ceviche spot nestled between a Fat Burger location and a Jersey Mike's sub shop. While it may not be your first choice for a location (in the shadow of Costco as well) the flavor profile and decor of this newer restaurant far outweighs its geography. Gloria the server - and menu coach - steered us to a couple of fabulous choices: Ceviche Mixto and Chaufa Mar y Selva. The first was an artfully constructed ceviche dish with paper thin onion, two varieties of interesting corn kernels, a dollop of sweet potatoes and shrimp, squid, octopus and scallops bathed in the tang of a lime juice "broth". Clean, fresh, pretty and tasty. Its clear the kitchen know many of us eat with our eyes. The second dish was a riff on asian paella with a seafood base wrapped by fried rice and topped with an egg. Two mussels flanked the bowl but the real money was in the spice. Unique flavor profile that actually complemented the food and made you wonder - what is this flavor which I had never tasted? The pork chop (Chuleta en Chicha Morada) and rice dish was well constructed with some perfectly cook veg and a sweeter rice but the meat itself went a bit too long on the grill. Grade: B. Colorful, professionally deigned decor, a bit of new age club music in the background, stylish tableware, an engaged staff and a fabulous lunch made for a memorable meal. Highly recommended. Bonus: they seem to have some folks stopping in and carrying out their selection. But its too cool of spot to do that!

Wasn't really sure what to expect but figured I would give it a try since I'm a huge Ceviche fan. First - I got there at 5:15 on a Thursday night and the place was completely empty (usually an immediate bad sign). When I walked in there were about 7 employees standing by the kitchen and no one acknowledged my presence for at least 2 minutes (not good). Finally, I took a seat at the bar and then waited another 2-3 minutes before someone came and gave me a menu. Our entire dinner only 4 other people came in to the restaurant. My Mom and I are adventures eaters so we ordered the beef heart skewers and the trio ceviche sampler. The beef heart skewers were AWESOME. It was the first time I had ever tried beef heart and it was delicious. I really liked the spice rub on the meat and I liked how they were chargrilled. The ceviche sampler was MEH...Alright. I only cared for the traditional ceviche but I didn't like how the fish was cut. It was cut way too large to eat so I had to take it out of the bowl and cut it myself on the plate. The olive-cream ceviche was definitely not my cup of tea. Thinking of raw fish in a cream sauce just kinda grosses me out though. My favorite part of the dinner was definitely the wine. I ordered the house Chardonnay and it was EXCEPTIONAL. I also ordered the Lima Llama cocktail which was way to strong and too sweet for my liking. All in all, I probably wouldn't go back here. Although I enjoyed the beef heart, this place is supposed to be all about Ceviche and I found that theirs was average at best.

We tried Pisco today and thought it was above expectation. We went with the standard chicken and sides (salad, yucca, plantain) as a litmus stick and all were as great. I was surprised the prices were so good for lunch as well, with a bill of only $22 including soft drinks. The ambience is very similar to Xitomate, despite the lack of relation--feels upscale without the wallet hit. Service was superb. Their liquor license is pending, but the waiter said for now you can carry in from the Perfect Pour next door. They say it's not ready for prime time, but they're also planning on having brunch on weekends, which will be awesome. We will be back with friends.

The ambiance in here is awesome! Surprisingly beautiful restaurant located in a strip mall. But everything in Columbia is stripmall-esque, just gotta get over that and enjoy the hidden gems! :) Food was good, I had the peruvian chicken and will DEF be coming here from now on for my chicken! That way, when I ask for more sauce, they dont try to charge me .25 cents per extra! The house green sauce was DELISH! Super spicy, just the way I like it! I needed low carb sides and had to resort to the steamed veggies, which literally looked like the frozen bag from costco. I'd say step up your veggie sides! But the other sides were good, from what my party said. Hubs got the lomo saltado and it was flavorful. The ceviche.... eh... I got the Nekkei? Very fishy. Flavor of the marinade was good, but the assortment of seafood just was fishy, extremely. So minus one star for that and for the service. Seemed like folks were waiting a long time to be serviced and to receive food but I overlooked that since its a BYOB establishment at the moment and was at the liquor store next door. And MAN! I need to write a review about that store! It was like a adult playground!!! ANYWAYSSS, thats off topic. But fix those two issues mentioned above and you have a 5 star from me! :)

I came with my sister. The food is really good. My sister could not stop saying things like "amazing" after biting into things... Anyway we got the Criolla soup, which was a very generous portion. It is so tasty with nice pieces of steak, angel hair pasta and a nice broth with a bit of cream in a tomato base with a fried egg floating on top.. we both loved it. I got the ceviche tradicional which I really liked also. The fish was fresh and cut into larger pieces than I've usually seen with ceviche and it was slightly spicy with definitely tasty zingy lime marinade and a sweet potato served on the plate. I loved it. We also got the Pan con Chicharron sandwich which my sister called "amazing. " it was larger than I expected and tasty. The Novo Andina salad was good but the huacatay dressing was a bit overwhelming so she asked for a vinaigrette subsitute. Maybe reconfigure the dressing so the flavor of the huacatay doesn't overwhelm the dressing. Anyway we loved it and got the mousse De maracuya for dessert which was so cutely presented. Beautiful interior and nice patio. I recommend highly. "Anyone who says they don't like this place must be crazy" -my sister

This place is excellent! The people are so nice and lunch time is not crazy. The food is amazing. I had the rice plate with the chicken... OH MY GOD! The rice and beans are mixed into almost a chunky paste and then it's pan seared so it's crunchy on the outside. It's great! The chicken is also great, a smoky lime taste. My husband has the classic trout ceviche, it was also excellent. The trout was good and the sauce was cilantro-lime taste, man it was good. I just wish I would've taken a picture, the dishes come out very pretty.
