Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

They probably lost their best cook because the quality of food has gone WAY down. I ordered General Tso's Chicken, all white meat, but they gave me Sweet & Sour Chicken instead. Gross. Even the Shrimp Fried Rice was stale and included very little shrimp. If you can't even get that staple Chinese dish right anymore, I'm done. The search for good HoCo Chinese Food continues...

First and last time. Food was not good. The fried rice was not fried and they wanted to charge me a dollar extra for 3 pieces of brocoli

Hunan Lion is my favorite Chinese spot. I've never been to any Chinese place that treats you better and remembers your name and order just from hearing your voice on the phone. The Food: Some things can be under seasoned but you can't go wrong with the fried rice, Shezuan, or sweet and sour shrimp. My go to meal here is the sweet & sour shrimp combo. It's one of the few places where the shrimp actually fill the breading. I've also tried the Thai fried rice. It's too garlicky for my taste but my hubby loves it. The Prices: The prices are what keep me loyal here. They're not the absolute lowest but for the portions and service they're well worth it. They're lunch specials are pretty cheap though. Overall they're worth the visit.

Quick and nothing special about this place. Food is pretty good if you know what to order. If you go here expecting an awesome authentic chinese dinner, you're either a fool or have no idea what chinese food is. Quick take out and/or to satisfy a craving... this place will do.

The service here is very friendly and they remember you when you come back for your next visit. The food here is pretty standard for Chinese take out in the area. The one thing that is different here, is that their combination lunches/dinners menu has a lot more variety than the other take out joints nearby. Things here aren't overly salty or oily like some other take out places I've experienced.

Nine hungry girls + One extensive menu = $100 in 'Chinese' food delivery. We were keeping it simple for our girl's holiday gathering and decided to order delivery from here. They have a very large menu with Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese options. This should have been my sign to order something very basic because chances were they were okay at many things and excellent at none. I would have been right! I loved seeing a healthy options menu with all steamed items and the sauce served on the side, but only white rice, no brown rice. It took about 10 minutes on the phone to place our order, but when it arrived 30 min later it was all there and nice and hot. Considering three of us were pregnant and starving, we dug in! No one really enjoyed their food. How is that possible?! I started with the summer rolls. 2 rolls with what looked like decent sized shrimp, but upon further inspection I see that they cut the shrimp in half so they looked like a whole shrimp, but were not. FAIL. No fresh herbs or anything and perfectly bland. Even the peanut sauce on the side was bleh. Singapore style rice noodles with extra vegetables, no oil and extra spicy were barely seasoned with curry and once again bland. They got the extra vegetables part right and they weren't greasy, but they had barely any meat/seafood and tasted like plain noodles with a hint of curry. FAIL They other comments received on the beef with broccoli-bland, Thai friend rice (which looked amazing)-bland, soups-bland, dumplings-bland, etc. I think you get the point. I won't be back, but if you decide to order from here, ask for extra extra extra spice/flavor and you might get something with a little flavor....maybe. On the positive side, it wasn't a sodium overload!

Foods are okay, typical Chinese carry out place. Only go there when this carry out guy Kirby is working because he is nice and knows what to recommend.

I love this place! Susan, who is at the front desk, knows me by name and is friendly and helpful. The food is very good for fast food take-out Chinese. We stick to the same entrees, usually cashew chicken or orange chicken; the vegetable spring rolls are very good.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pass on this place from now on. Stopped here last night for dinner and was not impressed. I ordered two orders of vegetable dumplings (one steamed, one fried) and they were actually pretty decent, especially the fried ones. Sadly, the same was not true of my entree, bean curd homestyle. Like one of the other commenters, the dish was completely tasteless - the vegetables were fresh and well cooked, as was the tofu, but the brown sauce they were swimming in was utterly flavorless and very gummy. There was also a slight...industrial aftertaste to the sauce. The best way I can explain it is slightly metallic, as if it came from a can or something like that. In any case, I won't be coming back. There are much better chinese places closer to home.

Mediocre at best. My staple is some sort of chicken dish...usually sesame or general tso's. If you can't make this right, then you fail. Fried rice was stale and the chicken lacked flavor and was stringy and tough. Gross. Sesame balls were interesting. Only good thing about this place is that they deliver and are cheap. Are there any good American Chinese places in Maryland besides China House?

Hunan Lion is my favorite Chinese carry out. I have never received bad service or bad food. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I order from them at least once a week and always look forward to an enjoyable meal.

This place is amazing. The prices can't be beat and food is delicious. They have online ordering and you can easily modify your entree to your liking via the website. The draw back is that it is clearly a take-out/delivery spot as the onsite seating is not that nice.

This place is good and I get my Chinese food fix here. It is close by my house and they deliver quickly. Their Orange Chicken (or General Tso) all white meat NO MSG is great - add snow peas if you are a fan. My biggest problem is their steamed dumplings - I keep getting them (thinking they will be better this time) and they are getting progressively worse. The sauce has no freshness or spice anymore, basically soy it seems. Most recent purchase there is no meat in the dumpling - there is a 1/2 inch of uncooked steamed dough around a tiny sliver of mystery meat. Tastes like eating raw dough. Bad.

This place sucks! The pork chops my family order was dried. Spring rolls are cold, etc.. The staff are nice and friendly! Not worth to come here.

I go here once a week for lunch. I do that because the food is cheap, it is amazing and the service is fantastic. I think you should go there as soon as you get done reading this.

Ate at this restaurant often for five years. Never had a problem. My family's personal favorite is the pork chops. Though I can see the salt on the pork chops.

Wow. I don't usually expect much from the neighborhood Chinese food restaurant but the food here was really bad. Staples like shrimp fried rice way over soy sauced. Barely edible. This is probably the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. Sorry. I hope they can improve their recipes and execution.

I first rate a place on service and to be recognized when you walk in is always a plus. I have always gotten great service when I come to "the Lion". The food is also very good, and they will very the dish at your request. I frequent this establishment at least twice a month which is good considering the plethora of places to eat in Columbia.

This little joint is primarily a carry out but, they do have a couple tables. The food is spiced and priced well and a bit better than most Chinese carry-out type places. The small order is huge and can easily be 2 meals! This is the second time that I've been here and I will continue to patronize this place whenever I'm in the area with a Chinese take out craving!

Salt and pepper pork chop and crispy garlic shrimp are die-for. Fast service too. Definitely will return.

Pretty good Chinese food for take out. Orange and General Tso's chicken are very good.
