Darn tasty breakfast. Bagels are super fresh and you can actually specify a cheese type. Like it.

I really like this place for a quick bagel or sandwich. I have gotten just a simple bagel with cream cheese, an egg and cheese bagel sandwich, nova lox bagel sandwich. Everything has always been delicious! They have the best bagels, always so fresh and flavorful! Staff is always friendly and efficient. Location is great. Prices are comparable to Einsteins or any other bagel place I have been to. Great place!

Bagels are very good for outside of NY. I also really like their whitefish, tuna and chicken salads - they use only white meat and not too much mayonnaise (I hate goopy mayonnaise salads!). The teenage girls that work here are really nice and friendly. Unfortunately, the manager (Andy Lee) is completely the opposite. I have been getting bagels here every weekend (and sometimes mid-week as well) for NINE YEARS and he never once smiled or said hello. Usually he just scowls. Um, hello, I'm paying your rent!

Awesome breakfast and lunch, fresh ingredients, strong coffee wonderful and quick service

It's a bagel place they have to expect people will be there in the morning. But instead they have one person working and it take 15 minutes to get a bagel. Very frustrating

Was staying at the Holiday Inn next door on business and stopped in for a quick lunch.I had the Andy's Special on a garlic bagel with chips. There were some good and bad things about Cafe Bagel. The Good: - Large menu with a lot of great options - They have salt bagels (they were out but I still have to commend this) - Your meal comes with a pickle - More cream cheeses on the menu than I've ever seen The Bad: - This place feels kind of dirty on this inside - The menu is extremely small and difficult to read (even for a 28 year old with great vision) and there are no paper menus to read - They have a bizarre refills policy that is very off putting I don't normally write reviews in this format but for Cafe Bagel it felt appropriate. I really enjoyed my sandwich but there's definitely a few things to know before grabbing lunch or breakfast here.

The food is okay, but everything costs $2 more than it should. Tiny little side of potato salad. The bakery items in the case are are regularly stale.

We stopped coming here few years ago because of the customer service mainly. Food is so so, nothing special. It's close and convenient but I avoid this place. They charge you extra if you want your bagel sliced and another extra charge if you want it toasted. They try to get every cent out of you. Never get the baked good items on the shelf, it's not fresh.

Selection is ok-- probably the best in the Columbia area, but nowhere near NY or NJ bagel shops. Customer service is terrible--owner is a grouch and always has a frown on his face. Not friendly at all. Will not take phone orders on the weekend, even if it is Sunday afternoon around 2pm when there is no line.

Ordered a supreme bagel with cream cheese and an egg bagel with bacon/egg/cheese. The supreme bagel was seasoned with goodies and was delicious. On the same level as Bagel Bin plus or minus. Might not be up to par with NY locals, but certainly satisfactory. Not sure if it was just the egg bagel itself, but I thought the egg sandwich lacked any flavor and was dry throughout. Would recommend for a dozen bagels and maybe you will have better luck with a breakfast sandwich.

The bagels are okay. The coffee drinks are average. The attitude of the people working here is terrible. They do not say thank you. I feel likeni am bothering them by ordering. Go somewhere else.

Worst everything bagel I've had. Tasted like salt and very rude owner. Walked in hoping to get one bagel for there and 6 to go. The owner didn't even allow me to buy two to go. In the end I was very happy I didn't get the bagels to go because they where tough and had an overpowering taste of salt.

Best bagel breakfast sandwiches in the area, hands down. They make them to-order and you can choose from a variety of tasty bagels. I like the Everything and Asiago Cheese. Never, ever taste stale or overbaked. Just the right amount of crisp and chewiness with a soft, doughy inside. They also have very good flavored coffee (Hazelnut!) and a nice selection of italian desserts. We usually go on Sundays and it's packed with locals, so can be hard to find a seat at one of their mini cafe tables. May take up to ten minutes to get your order when it's busy but it's worth the wait. Parking can be a chore because it's adjacent to a Giant.

Terrible customer service. The owner made a huge fuss because I plugged my laptop into one of their outlets. They're also not very friendly. The atmosphere doesn't make you want to stay.

I have been going here for years. Until today. Today, after eating I filled up my coffee (one refill permitted as per the sign) and left, only to be chased down and grabbed by the owner and told NO REFILLS IF YOU AREN'T EATING IN. Well, she hadn't seen me in the place because she was cleaning in back, but when I went back in, several staff confirmed I was in the right. She chased me down and grabbed me. Bloody insane. I have been going there three or more mornings a week, but no more.

Originally from the New York area, I find it hard to get good bagels in Maryland. Cafe bagel has decent bagels. I enjoy the occasional bagel sandwich for lunch and have had their breakfast sandwiches a handful of times. Good when trying to grab something fast but nothing special.

If you are looking for a good almost New York Style bagel then Cafe Bagel is your place. This place has a good offering of spreads, bagels, sandwiches pastries, juices and drinks. For a small shop they do offer a good amount of variety plus there bagels are one of the better in the area. My wife and were tried for the same old small non-NY bagel from dunkin donuts and such, so we decided to try out Cafe bagel and we have def. found out local bagel place. As I mentioned they offer a good array of spreads and bagels, my two favs are the everything bagel with chive cream cheese or the whole wheat with honey butter. Both are solid items depending on if you want the sweet or savory taste. Also a plus is that you can ask the bagel to be toasted, spead on the side or they will put it on for you, so you can be lazy and have Cafe bagel do all the work or you can do the spreading yourself... your choice. The coffee is decent too, I am not a coffee consouir so I can't stack it up against say a Starbucks or a home blend, but I thought it was good and they offer a dark and light roast. So if your in the mood for bagels, sandwiches, or coffee Cafe Bagel is def. the place to go... No bagel no bagel no bagel, swing batta swing Cheers mates and mind the cream cheese.

Will NEVER go back! My husband & I have been regulars here for a few years, getting bagels several times a week. The bagels are decent. The owners are incredibly rude, nasty, always scowling & this morning, one of them practically yelled at my husband for no good reason. They have absolutely no gratitude for customers. We'll never spend another dime here & will tell everyone we know to stay away too. Check out Sam's Bagels in Catonsville--nice guy & better bagels.

Food is good and the employees are usually great but the owner doesn't seem very customer-focused. E.g. No credit cards for purchases less than $5 and a prominent sign saying no more than 1 soda refill. We live in the area and have been going here since it opened but we've, with sadness, decided to stop our frequent visits until ownership changes.

I've been coming here off an on for the past 6 years when I've needed a quick bagel fix. It's a nice solid bagel place right up there with the Bagel Bin. The last time I went it looked like they had expanded their menu to include more lunch options and they rearranged to make the eat in area look bigger. I saw that they had some vegetarian sandwiches on their menu that sounded good, but I typically get the usual cream cheese or egg and cheese on a bagel. I've noticed in reviews for bagel places, people always compare them to NY bagels. I don't know about all that, but their bagels taste pretty much like every other decent independent bagel place in the state. They have a good selection and you can even go later in the day and they keep it stocked pretty well.

I would give the food 3 stars but everything else a big fat 0. The owner is not a nice guy and always in a mood. The doors are supposed to open at 6AM but several times I have stopped by at 630 and they are still closed with no signs of life within. If you are going to open up late, at least put a sign on the front door indicating what time you will actually open. The place also seems dirty all of the time.
(1)Beth S.
The guy who own this place is CHEAP! There's a sign up that you can only get one refill on drinks and after paying $17 for an eat-in order, he wouldn't let me charge $4.25 because there's a $5 minimum on credit charges! Geez dude learn some customer service skills!
(2)Jim B.
Went in for a ham egg and cheese on a whole wheat bagel. Instead Got a breakfast covered with sesame and poppy seeds. That means they don't clean their counters when you get a sandwich covered in seeds. Some people can't eat seeds. Thanks for stealing my 5 bucks! Never again. Clean your cooking surfaces.

Cafe Bagel is my favorite place for a casual, quick weekend breakfast in my neighborhood. They're located in the same shopping center as the Giant, Fitness 19, and Pazani off of 103 in Elkridge. They serve breakfast and lunch, but I've only had breakfast here which is served all day! They have coffee, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, omelets, delis sandwiches, and baked goods. I love their coffee and the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The eggs here are always cooked to perfection. The cheese is good quality boar's head. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they quality of the bagels isn't anything like an amazing NY bagel. I really stick with the bagel sandwiches here--the bagels on their own are good but nothing too exciting. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and wait for your food to be delivered to you. They have a really young staff, but we've never had any problems here. It can get a little crowded on the weekends, but the service is fast. I also like that they have pitchers of water out...I hate buying bottled water! I'd definitely recommend Cafe Bagel if you're looking for a good, inexpensive, quick breakfast.

Great service , coffee and bagel sandwich!

Our blueberry bagels neither smelled nor tasted of blueberries. In fact, they had only blue food coloring to look like blueberries. Bogus.

Ok bagels and poor business practices. This place consistently makes me feel unwelcome and unvalued as a customer. This morning I purchased $19 worth of bagels for work (something I do regularly - more for convenience than any other reason). I then attempted to purchase a $2 cookie (yes, a cookie that cost $2!??) for my 8-yr-old whom was with me but I needed to use to use a personal credit card. I was asked if I had cash, but I did not. And then I was refused service because they have a $5 minimum for credit card purchases. I JUST SPENT $19 there on the previous transaction. This is a place with typical individual sales of probably $6-$10 in the morning and I just spent $19. AND I COME IN THERE ABOUT ONCE A WEEK TO BUY BAGELS FOR MY OFFICE. Correction - I USED to go in there about once a week. No more. Missing the previous owners more than even - they CARED about their customers... he would have probably given me the cookie for free and been happy to meet my son.

Great bagel place. The New Yorker sandwich is delicious (so my other half says) and my kids and I love the tuna here with swiss cheese. The bagels are good but do sell out quickly. I've had to get my tuna on strange bagels before because plain was sold out.
