I'm worried about giving a truthful review for far that others will find out about this little gem. This one is based on a single trip, which will not be the last. Spicy food is nowhere to be found in this area, which is very sad for Thai food. This place is the exception. The other reviews stating that you can get it spicy here side, you walk in and find a box of tissues on every table. Good sign. It didn't disappoint. True to form, I broke in the restaurant with Pad Thai. I even had to have the conversation with my daughter about how, yes, it hurts to eat it, but it is so good. I can't wait to try the Penang, based on the flavor of the Pad Thai!

I came here with my cousin (free dinner wooooot) and wasn't sure what to expect. I decided to ordered the Vegetable Panang and told them to make it murderous hot cuz I wanted to have some fun. I was excited because they agreed, even nicely tried to dissuade me by saying "it will be really hot.." Boy do I wish someone took a picture of the crazy smile that came across my face. You know that crazy GF meme that we used to see everywhere, she was an amateur compared to what I looked like. When the spring rolls came out (within minutes btw), I killed it faster than me taking an unintentional dump while being blasted into space - DANK DANK! Then our food came out a few minutes later... And my mouth was full of watery cum. It was delicious, flavorful, and perfect with the rice, even though I wish they gave us more rice off the bat. Overall it was a great experience and come and check this place out!

Was pretty stoked for M Thai based on all the reviews. Ordered two PAD KEE MAO, one chicken and one beef to go. Received two beef. Order mess ups happen - I get it. The food was promptly ready. The clerk was friendly and apologetic. The beef was overcooked and bland. The noodles were exactly as expected and the taste was good. Spice and sauce were well done. Would I try again? Probably...but, this is definitely a have to have Thai now place vs. a so good I'm a regular.

There isn't much out in this part of Maryland, particularly for a vegetarian, but Yelp led me here. It's a modern-looking shopping center, and the restaurant's interior was quite pleasant, thankfully boasting some very comfortable armchairs. The menu offers a typical vegetarian slate for Thai, and the drunken noodles I got were capably rendered, with the bitterness of basil bouncing back and forth with the sweet and spicy notes, and a nice variety of fresh-tasting vegetables. The dumplings I added on offered a pleasant and green mix of ingredients. The only negatives I had were the actual amount of tofu in my tofu kee mao was not great, just a half dozen or so small pieces, and they were lightly staffed on a midweek night and not quick bringing water, which between my initial thirst and the appreciable bite and saltiness of the food, I rather needed. Not enough to stop me from giving them four stars and a positive recommendation for anyone looking for food around Annapolis that isn't seafood.

Love this place. Excellent food. Great veggie options. The Panang is rich with just the right amount of spice. We also are big fans of the Pad Kee Mao, aka drunken noodles. I've been to Thailand and this place makes me feel like I'm back there with every bite.

I really enjoy a good Thai restaurant. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. The restaurant is cluttered and unappealing. The staff was mostly invisible. The food was just OK at best. I was really hoping this would be good because there are no good Thai restaurants in the Annapolis area. I will sometimes give a restaurant another chance for redemption, but I was just so underwhelmed and there are so many other choices in the area, I will not.

Great, small Thai restaurant -- loved everything we ordered. Also, jasmine tea brewed with loose leaves is a great treat. Makes this special!

We love this restaurant! The food is 5 stars - very authentic Thai food. It is always fresh, yummy and portions are huge. Customer service outstanding - very friendly people. The pad thai is excellent. Curry dishes are fantastic as well. We have eaten there 4 times already and we will definitely go back. I highly recommend this place.

We love M Thai! We've eaten here in person twice and had takeout a few times. The Tom Ka Kai soup is perfect, and the steamed dumplings are clearly homemade and fantastic. The pad thai is incredible, and if you ask for very spicy, you'll get it. They have kids menu type entrees, but it helps to ask what they offer as the menu can be overwhelming! My daughter had chicken satay with rice, which she loved - we tried them and they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We really haven't expanded our tastings beyond these offering, but we will in the future. The quality and flavor of the food here is better than any I have found in downtown DC or in larger suburban towns. The staff are so pleasant and kind, and they are so welcoming to families with children. Tonight, as part of the holiday season, the owner gave small cars to two little boys at the table next to us and an adorable teddy bear to our daughter! Give this place a try- you won't be disappointed!

I have ordered takeout here several times and it has always been consistently great. It is a favorite with my coworkers so I buy the whole office lunch here all the time. There are very few ethnic restaurants in Edgewater so it's a nice change of pace.

We've been here a couple time and never been blown away, but it had been a while so I figured we'd give it a shot again. First off, the menus are ridiculous! They're binders with probably a dozen sheet protectors with pictures and descriptions of meals. It's a little much, but I guess they want to show people exactly what they're ordering, so I can appreciate that. I got the fresh garden roll to start and it was very good! Great combo of fresh ingredients. There were a lot of peanuts on top, which made up for the lack of peanut sauce. I live for peanut sauce. My husband asked for the steamed dumplings to be made fried. The waitress said ok, then came back and said the steamed dumpling filling (pork) could not be put in fried dumplings.... ok... So he got regular fried dumplings, which were filled with a veggie combo. They were good, but not what he wanted. My entree was the Tofu kee mao (vegetarian drunken noodles). It was great! Tons of veggies, and a good variety of different veggies. My husband got the spicy beef salad, which was not spicy. Also, the lettuce was cooked, which is how some Thai places do it, but it just wasn't what he wanted. The sauce was quite sweet instead of being spicy. The decor is a little silly and overwhelming, but it works alright. Service was nice and attentive and we were checked on by our waitress as well as the owner. Overall, not blown away by the food, but it is a good enough place. Definitely not the best in the Annapolis area though.

It's always a pleasure to find a new restaurant, and even more so when the quality and hospitality are so good. The green curry was very flavorful without being overwhelming. My wife had vegetable panang, which was rich and hearty. The owner grows her own peppers to make the chili powder that is on each table - a nice touch for those who want things a bit hotter. Overall, I can't say enough good. We will be back, an will bring as many people with us as we can.

Everything was delicious. Service was impeccable. As a Manhattaner, I would choose this restaurant over the best in New York.

My husband and I adore this restaurant and we try to eat here as much as we can! Let me just say this: the food here is authentic Thai food, not the Americanized Thai food that you generally get in this area. The ingredients are always fresh, and the food comes out hot and delicious. They also add just the right amount of spice to everything, so when you see the 2 pepper signs, you know it will actually be spicy. The Massaman curry is my favorite, and one of their best dishes. We also order the steamed dumplings, spring rolls, drunken noodles, jungle curry, and duck curry, which have all been consistently excellent!!!! The reason I did not give M Thai 5 stars is because if you arrive after 8 pm, they tend to become pushy and hover over you while you eat. They close at 9, and they are very strict about that timeline. One time, we arrived at 8:20 and the server didn't even give us menus, she just shouted, "what do you want to order?" We ordered, she brought the food, and then paced back and forth nervously while we ate. She then asked if we wanted dessert, and when we ordered it, she was visibly frustrated but she made it for us anyway. The whole situation made us feel nervous and like we were imposing, which shouldn't happen in a restaurant... it was odd. But, nonetheless, we keep coming back because the food is absolutely delicious. This is a gem, for sure. Just make sure to arrive early!!!!!

Food and service is awesome! I had the Tom Kha gai soup and number one curry dish and my husband had the salad with chicken and shrimp. We can't remember the names but everything was awesome! The prices are pretty low.

While attempting to take my family here for our first meal at M Thai, we were intercepted shortly after entering the restaurant. The host (who was not Thai so I am not sure his association with the owners) put his hands up in an abrasive manner, moving at us physically, and announced they were short staffed and he wouldn't seat us. He was frantic and unsettling. I completely empathize with tough situations introduced by staffing problems, but he shoo'ed us out of the restaurant like we were bothering him (with what was likely to be a $150 table). Not at any moment did he either wish us back on another night or offer a drink or anything. Appalling first reception that was so rude we have not tried again.

I come here all the time for their Thai iced tea and had only once tried their Pad Thai, which was great. I'm always welcomed and they are always prompt. I haven't had an abrasive experience like anyone else, yet.

Indeed very good and they might have a better pad thai then the competition, but from the reviews I was expecting more. In addition to the Pad Thai I had the Pad Kaprow. I asked for it spicy but it was very very mild. I guess I am still a LEMONGRASS guy.

My wife and I love this place. Over the last two years we've probably frequented this place 1-2 times a month (mostly takeout). The food is always very good and the staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend any of the curry's, especially the green curry. The Drunken Noodles and the Pineapple Fried Rice are also great.

My wife and I went last night for dinner. As always the food was very good but the service was poor. Several times I watched the waitresses deliver food to the wrong table (including ours twice). They also didn't time the orders properly so the appetizers were delivered 10 minutes apart then I didn't receive my salad until after I was half way finished with my entree. This required us to eat faster so that our food didn't get cold or soggy. We ordered the following items. Fresh spring rolls, Crispy spring rolls, Seafood Salad, Red Chicken curry and Mushroom and Shrimp. This was the first time ordering the fresh spring rolls. While they were not what I expected, they were very light, fresh and flavorful. The crispy spring rolls are always good but ask for some chili sauce for that extra kick. My wife enjoyed her curry. I think that it's a little too sweet without enough spice balance but my wife told me that this dish is the inspiration for the curry she makes are home. My mushroom and shrimp dish was tasty but the shrimp felt a little under cooked. The mushrooms were very meaty and full of flavor. Then they delivered the seafood salad. It was worth the wait. A great balance of sweet and hot with plenty of flavor. The squid and mussels were very tender but again the shrimp was under cooked. This place gets 4 stars based on the sloppy service and slightly undercooked shrimp. My wife and I will continue to dine here because the flavors of the meal exceed the errors in service. I recommend that you eat here on a regular basis.

Fabulous Thai food! I had the best pad Thai! Service was great! Very clean! Highly recommend!

Absolutely the best Thai food around. We were introduced to The couple that run the the place by a Thai friend who says that "this is the food my Mom makes!". Doesn't get better than that. Absolutely love the Pad Thai and Chicken Panang. These are the gold standards I use when dinning at other Thai resturants around the country.

Extremely high quality Thai food at very fair prices. Everything we had was delicious. I really like this place.

  • Mike H.

Very good, not great. They are almost awesome. Any curry dish they have is amazing in my opinion especially the panang. The lack of a star is due to the terrible atmosphere/ decor of the place. The food is a 4/5 star so carryout is the way to go. It is above lemongrass on quality and consistency. Suggestions: Pad See Iew Pad Woon Sen Panang

The Pad Kar Kaprow is yummy...... The place is always empty, so I'm guessing most business comes from take out. If you are a Thai food lover you should at least try this place once. On the daily Specials, they try to do American style food every once in a while, That is like Chicken wings and its not that good, so I stay away from that.. Stick to what they know, Thai Food.

We have eaten here a number of times and the owners recognize us (including the kids) as we come in, always a nice touch. Everything we have tried we liked, but especially the Papaya Salad and the Massaman Curry! Both my wife and I have dined many times in Thailand and across the US. We agree, this is as good as it gets. Headed there tonight!

Best Thai food in the Annapolis area. Real deal. The lovely owner made a special Thai dish for my husband who is Thai. It is the only Thai resturant my husband will go to,the others are "not really Thai" in his words. Ask them to school you on how Thais would compose a meal.None of this order a curry and eat the whole thing yourself. and no noodles for dinner, they are a lunchtime menu only. For dinner you should share several dishes that cover the thai tastes. A soup,a curry and a stir fry with lots of veg. Also thais would usually have a fish and a condiment like Pik kapi served with fresh veggies.

Formerly Mayo Thai Kitchen, located on Mayo Road, this restaurant is now in a more spacious location with better parking, but with the same great food. We've yet to try anything on the menu that we haven't really enjoyed, but the Tamarind Chicken and Pad See Ew are perennial favorites.

The owners are Art and his wife Mod. The food is excellent! Ellen and I shared spring rolls and a Papaya Salad. The spring rolls were light and delicious. The salad was refreshing, spicy and unusual. Ellen had Pad Kaprow, which was an tasty mixture of subtle flavors of several vegetables and spices. The pork was tender. The owners grow their own peppers and basil which adds to the fresh taste. I had a tasty curry with chicken, potatoes, and pineapple.

The worst ....ever...if you walk in at 8:30 they will do there best to let you know hey hurry up and order the cook leaves at 9 as they hover over your table annoyed that you are even in that dump...furthermore...the male owner needs a lesson in customer service and trust me...he has No experience in anger management or any type of management...as we were eating this nut case turns the lights on and says ok lets go you know we close at 9.. in the world of the restaurant business...if you close at 9 why do you still serve at 8:45...I give this husband and wife team about another 6 months if they last that long......food and service highly NOT recommended.. WORST experience ever...

Wonderful meal. Fresh spring rolls were tasty. Very fresh, served with strawberries and a nice dipping sauce. We also has Pad Thai and Green Curry. Both were very fresh and flavorful. Best Thai food around.

My wife and I finally went here for dinner. We had brought up going a few times and it just hasn't happened until 2 days ago. What a mistake me made by not going here sooner! This is the best Thai food I have ever tasted! Cooked to perfection, every bite was better than I could have ever hoped for. I simply can't wait to go back here later on this week!

This place gives Thai X-ing in DC a run for the money, though you have to pick your own dishes here. (I love the "come and just eat" style of Thai Xing.) Amazing papaya salad, and the rice noodles in their dishes are phenom. Massaman curry is spectacular and is perfectly balanced. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Also, go support one of our heroes. The husband is a Vietnam Veteran, and his wife (the chef) is Thai. GREAT hospitality, and a very well run operations with some of the friendliest service in the area. What some see as "terrible decor" is surprising-- this place reminds me of remote parts of Thailand where you're not coming for the layout of the room but for the CHEF. And she delivers. I've been to Thailand, and I've been longing for its smells in the states with the delicate balance only known to long time chefs like you'll find here. How they source the ingredients is beyond me, but she does it and you can taste the authenticity with every bite. The only thing to watch out for is that her Thai Iced Tea is heavy on the simple syrup; you'll have a sugar crash if you drink the whole thing. Regardless, GET HERE!! =)

Best Thai food we've eaten in DC area. Food is cooked to perfection. I just hope it doesn't get too popular and have long waiting lines to get in. We've eaten Thai food across the country and this is one of the best.

Pad Thai and Pad Eggplant were both amazing. And cheap. Also loved the Pad Kaprow...perfectly spicy.
