My wife and I moved to the Edgewater area in October 2010 and were looking for a local place that was on a par with other family owned restraunts we have enjoyed from Florida to Boston. A tip from a local Charter boat Captain led us to the Bayside Inn. The Bayside is a wonderful place to enjoy congenial patrons, a staff that truely want you to have a great time, and an owner/Chef that is at the top of his game. If you are looking for outstanding food at amazing prices, combined with fun people, come on down to the Bayside. My wife and I have dined in many establishments in the US, the Caribean, and Europe and the Bayside shines as bright as any of the best. In the Annapolis area, if you are looking for excellent down to earth food, with a genuine local atmosphere, try the Bayside.

Went for a local meal. Table was dirty. Waiter never wiped it down. Burger was overdone. My husband ordered steak. It was "meh". Service was super slow. To be fair its known for crabs. I dont think we'll try it again for a regular dinner. I might try it for crabs on a night where we have plenty of time and are in no hurry at all. Drinks were very reasonably priced.

Great fresh, raw oysters for the price! Completely laid back, neighborhood kind of place. Not 5 star, but good and fun!

I saw on FB that they were selling crabs so my son and I went last night. He decided on the Prime Rib dinner and I decided on a half dozen crabs. The prime rib was all fat with very little meat. The baked potato and veggies were mediocre as well. When the server picked up my son's plate I mentioned how his entire prime rib was fat she tried talking to the cook/person in charge. The only rectification they offered was to write my name down so if I came in again they would make sure my food was up too par. No thank you. Paying $25 for a terrible meal was already one time too many. Our server was very attentive. I wish I had gotten her name. My crabs were just okay. Three out of the six were very lite and the fact that they charged me an extra $5 because I only ordered a half dozen instead of a dozen is ridiculous! I have never heard of such a thing. It's obvious that Bayside Inn is only out for your money and could care less about customer service. We won't be back!

Yuck. The food is the worst part of this place. The service is pretty bad too. It is a great place to go drink after the Old Stein closes for the night. The bar is open until 2AM.

This is a dive bar place with restaurant. It is close to my home so a neighborhood go to. Steamed crabs appear to be a a big draw. Those going by and on tables look good though I have yet to try them since I prefer to do crabs when boating. Have found the fried chicken here to be the best in this county. Perhaps amongst the best I have had anywhere. It is off the charts perfectly fried, moist inside, crispy on outside and delicious. Today, the chalk board specials had soft shell crabs. Checked if they got them live ( vs frozen that are no comparison ). Upon the affirmative I ordered up. It took a while but so worth it. Two good size crabs were sauteed naked to perfection. Served on white bread, as requested, which is the only time I ever do white bread. Lettuce, tomato, and a side of mayo. Put it all together with a light layer of mayo on one slice of bread. The crabs spilled out well past the bread. In lieu of the fries that come, I substituted veggy of the day, sauteed slices of zuccini and squash which was tasty and light. The softshell crab sandwhich was delectible. I savored every morsel. Were it all not so filling I would have ordered it again. The cost, $10. It is only the beginning of the season. Looking forward to enjoying this regularly.

This place is great on a Friday night. Very lively atmosphere. The staff was great, especially our waitress who was down to earth and really very helpful. After a long day of work, this is now our new spot to go hang out at. We ate the soft shell crab, which was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the price is the best part! If you want a bargain on crab, definitely come here. Five stars, way to impress Bayside! We're going to tell all our friends!

Very impressed with the service (Leah), wait time, and the best Maryland Blue Crabs we've had all season. The crabs were cooked just right where the meat just fell out of the shell and melted in your mouth! Seasoning was perfect too. We are seafood lovers and cannot wait to go back and try other menu items. Our new crab house favorite!!!

i had been here a couple of times many years ago with a friend who grew up going to this place. then i heard a few rumblings about this restaurant being sold, then not so great, then sold back to the original owner... i don't know much about that, but i came in recently with the family, wanting steamed crabs for dinner and not wanting to go too far. and while we did have to sit and sit for a little while, ultimately the crabs were good, the shrimp was good, and i was happy to not have to wait or pay twice the price, as would've been the case in some of the more popular joints (read: cantler's inn). so all in all, i think bayside is a solid choice when you have a hankering for some seafood and don't want to cross the bridge to harris or pay an arm and a leg for cantler's.

They have a lot of great bar type food. the service is very friendly. i would suggest the cream of crab soup! It is some of the best I have ever had. Huge chunks if crab!

The story is a bit muddled. Bayside opened up in 1971. At some point it changed owners and years later that gentleman decided to retire. The place was renamed "Mojitos" when it was purchased by the folks of Jalapenos in Parole. Unfortunately the brightly colored Caribbean style restaurant just did not take off. This did not come as a surprise to the locals as they are more salt of the earth folks who would rather down a beer and slurp an oyster than drink fruity Island drinks and eat seared sesame crusted tuna. Besides, it wasn't any good to boot. So Bayside Inn was resurrected again, with Paul the owner coming out of retirement. He is a transplant from Maine so you better believe there is a lot of seafood on the menu. We dined there Friday, hoping it would be a go to place when we weren't in the mood to cook. Not much of the decor has changed, so it's a bit stark and the bright hues still grace the walls. We decided to eat in the bar where there was more atmosphere and was filled with locals chatting, drinking and eating. This is a verrrry casual place. The menus looked like they were printed off on a home computer and put into plastic holders. No big deal. Prices are kind of all over the place....$9.95 for a 1/2 lb burger and fries, but only $12.95 for roast turkey (baked on site), homemade dressing, potato and a salad, or for $9.95 a 1/2 Maryland deep fried chicken with sides. Hmmmmm.... Anyway, having lived in Boston I couldn't pass up the $15.99 1 1/4 lb steamed Maine lobster special. It came with a salad, rice and mixed veggies. The lobster was delicious, the salad crisp and tasty and the sides decent. You just can't go wrong with that meal, and the price is unbelievable. They offer a lot of other seafood from New England and Mid Atlantic_ oysters, clams, crab, haddock , calamari, sea scallops, shrimp, etc. A very nice selection. My dining companion had the french dip sandwich which was made with their shaved prime rib and served with fries. The meat was good but overdone, and the fries could be delicious if someone monitored the oil temp better. A bit too greasy. Next time I may try their house cut Prime Rib for only $19.95 or another one of their seafood specials. All in all I think this place has potential. It's as local as you can get, and Paul likes to walk around and talk to the customers...a nice touch. It is a bit of a drive, passed the Old Stein Inn on Mayo Road (Rt. 214). If you are ever in the area, you should stop by. They even have a pool table and keno. A regular entertainment venue!
