If there is an afterlife, I would hope that afterlife took place at Bayside Bull...or at the very least that Bayside Bull be located right next door to my awesome little afterlife beach house so that I could hang out there, eat BBQ meats, go home, stare out at the crashing waves of my beach, and reflect on what a great afterlife this turned out to be considering there is a Bayside Bull BBQ located right next door to my awesome beach house. Also, Jeff Bridges and Sam Elliot would come and play poker with me and my friends and never stop saying cool things about stuff. Miranda Kerr would occasionally walk by during her evening stroll along the afterlife beach and ask if anyone needs anything because she's going down to the corner store for some milk and paper towels and she thought she'd just ask since she's such a nice neighbor.

I absolutely love this Edgewater Classic! Awesome BBQ straight off the bone with your choice of sides! Better get there early if you don't want to wait in line cause they get busy sometimes! I work for a company that gets catering deliveries all the time and they are always SO nice and accommodating! Food is amazing, my personal favorite is the pit brisket with Cole slaw and Mac n cheese! Check it out!

Great place for pit turkey, beef, etc! The best little piece is if you ask for meat scraps for your dog, they'll make you a little doggie bag. Make sure you bring your cash as they only accept cash (they have an ATM inside if needed). YUM!

Do not waste your time or your money. The staff is rude, the buns are stale, and the BBQ is tasteless. The fries are the only palatable part; actually pretty good.

Delicious pit ham and goof pit beef. Tasty French fries. Not much of a fan of their baked beans, too much green pepper for me. If you're looking for a pit sandwich and fries, this is it!

Really like this place. Everything is good here. Only downfall is the prices keep getting more and more expensive. The pit beef use to be $5, now it's almost $7. I can deal with a $7 sandwich, just don't make it skimpy please.

The service blows, but the food is worth it. Get the pulled pork and order horseradish and extra sauce on the side; you won't even have room for the fries. Beware the joint is cash only, and the cashier will ask you what you want on your sandwich two seconds before the cook screams the same question at you; I don't think there's any communication between the two.

The 4 stars are for the catering (since there's no interior seating to review--all counter service if you walk in). Roadside BBQ is NEVER on my short list of experiences I experiment with (smoke and blast-season an old shoe long enough and someone would buy it), but this place is different. If you tend towards the finer dining lanes, you'll appreciate what an authentic thinly sliced delicious roast beef is available at Bayside--I'm a believer now. We've ordered mutliple caterings from them and wow are they tasty and reasonably priced. The beef and turkey have been fantastic, and the horseradish is fresh and powerful. Try a pit beef sandwich with the fresh onions and some of their BBQ sauce and you're hooked. We've served dozens from their catered menus and are always impressed with the quality and how much you get for the money. Great place.

Dinner for 5 ordered, it could have fed 8! We really loved the turkey, the beef was nice but medium rare would have been preferred. Though very sweet the beans and potato salad were nice. They included a bottle of own lone BBQ sauce which was good. Other BBQ sauce choices might have been fun. They include all the fixings with the beef and turkey, including sliced onions which the car still smells like. I would pass on onions and just pick up a whole onion at the Giant. Good value. NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED

This is great bang for the buck, a true gem in edgewater, md. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the hours are not great, they close too early. Also I would like to see them experiment a little bit with their stuff, some more gourmet sandwiches and such. I know their meat is awesome as it is just on some plain bread but some new options wouldn't hurt. Pros: Meat, Meat, Meat, Meat.....uhhmmm, MEAT. Some sides are great. Cons: Hours, nowhere to eat inside, lack of menu options, somes sides are just so-so.

We ordered sandwiches from this establishment for a bridal shower luncheon and a few other dishes to accompany them. The food was fresh, plentiful and tasty. The staff was very helpful in placing my order. When the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see all the salads, beans, condiments, sauces, serving & eating utensils, etc. as well. The turkey is best warm but the ham and roast beef are good even when cold! We were very happy with our decision to order from them.

The BBQ here is awesome! My son would happily eat the pulled pork every day if we would let him. Everyone in our house has a favorite! The turkey and pit beef sandwiches are huge, the fries are the best in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly, the service is fast and it is a great value for the money. Highly recommend.

Bayside Bull BBQ has catered our holiday party at Lindsay Cadillac for years. They always do an exceptional job both setting up and serving lots of hungry folks. Their BBQ selections are the best I have ever had and I look forward to them coming out every year. Great job and even better food!

Wow, really fantastic sandwiches here. I've had limited experience with pit meat, but this is far-and-away the best I've ever had. We don't have the ordering lingo down yet, but the staff was patient with us. We'll skip the cheese next time, it adds little to the sandwich. Fries are delicious -- crispy in the outside, smooth on the inside -- and made fresh to order. The baked beans were a real stand-out side. In addition to the regular navy beans, they add in a couple of kidney and black beans to keep it interesting. The onions and bell peppers are not cooked to oblivion, but retain their firmness and flavor. A couple of improvements, like a range of homemade BBQ sauces and some seating (not that I don't enjoy tailgating), might earn Bayside Bull a fifth star. Yeah, the meats are that good.

Hey owners, I hope you read the reviews here. Your place could easily get another star if you offered some homemade sauces on your stacked sandwiches. The horseradish and bbq and coleslaw options just doesn't cut it. Follow Chap's lead, and prepare some stuff that can be drizzled on the buns/meat when you place your order instead of just packets of mayo and tiny tubs on the side. The sandwiches really do have good beef and turkey flavor with ample portions, but the combination of the meat and the big rolls, is just too dry. I have to rush home and make a nice horseradish sauce to slather on the 'wich. It's only then it becomes a star.

Don't be put off by the name, this place sells food to drop-ins, it's not a strict catering company. Pretty good pit beef (not as good as Pioneer but comparable to Kirkwood) but it's also closer to us (well, at least closer to my mother-in-law's). Cash only place, but if you have a hankering for tender pit beef and some of the best fries around, this is the place. Word of advice: don't order cheese on your pit beef, it takes things off the table, detracting from a good eating experience.

I was in the area for a service project and decided to stop here after doing some manual labor in the morning. I was expecting some great bbq but honestly came away a little dissapointed. I got their carolina pork with cole slaw. The pork had a definite kick to it, but i felt it just lacked overall flavor/tenderness. The pork was moist, but I was expecting something more tender. As some have noted, the BBQ sauce also was a little disappointing. I prefer something a tad sweeter, and this was just tangy. The fries were very good though and were fresh out of the fryer. The place wasn't bad, and I did like the "local" feel and service given, but the food just wasn't that different.

The Bayside Bull is quite honestly one of the best places to get a good lunch in the area! I always get the turkey sandwich and you get a pile of meat on the bun. Top it with BBQ sauce and horseradish and you have a perfect meal (although you don't need it because the turkey is so good alone). The horseradish is homemade, the real McCoy - not the junk you would get out of a tube from the grocery store. Their fries are cut from potatoes and fried to perfection! The only thing that is keeping me from giving Bayside Bull one more star is that they do not accept credit cards. When you're picking up sandwiches for your coworkers it can become a little bit of a hassle. They have an ATM on-site that charges a $2.00 convenience fee (which is typical).

One of the first places I want to go when I am back in town to see family and friends. I remember washing dishes in this place before it was even a BBQ joint, and was called the Country Kitchen. I also remember getting the Pit BBQ sadwiches after lacrosse games at this place before it had taken over and remodeled the Crunchy Kitchen. The atmosphere is the same before and after remodeling, but the food is amazing. The Pulled Pork w/slaw is the best sandwich in the country, and hasn't changed since I can remember. Just like Andrew L. said, know what you want (you want the pulled pork w/slaw) and bring cash and a place to eat (your car). If you are looking to get these guys for catering, and can't choose between Adam's and here, get it from here. I have been to parties with each of these, and PIt BBQ is the tiznits.

We recently ordered turkey and roast beef sandwiches for a party. I thought it was very reasonably priced at $8/person. The meat was delicious and it came with potato salad, baked beans, and cole slaw! They also provided all the necessary supplies (plates, napkins, utensils, serving spoons, sauces, salt/pepper, onions)...nice quality ones too! I would highly recommend to cater for a party.

Bayside Bull is a great pit beef place. I always look forward to stopping into this tiny place for their great pit beef and pit smoked turkey sandwiches. The pit beef is great, but I actually prefer the turkey. They also offer pit smoked ham sandwiches which I have not tried yet. The bbq sauce they offer at the counter to put on the sandwiches is very good here. I always get an order of their tasty fries to go along with the sandwich. Bayside Bull also runs a catering operation. I would not hesitate to have them cater an event based on the great taste of the food they serve up at the take-out counter. Give Bayside Bull a try for a great regional treat.

What can I say? Bayside Bull is the epitome of efficiency and consistency. I have entered during a busy lunch rush, ordered, paid, received my food, and have been back out in the parking lot in less than two minutes. On a regular basis. Note...there is a certain rhythm between the employees and regular customers, so don't be "That Guy" who throws it all out of whack. Don't be shy. When they yell at you for your order, yell right back, and be clear as to what you want. If you want to stare at a menu and mull it over for a while, there is a McDonald's down the road. The food is top-notch. The roast beef is delicious, the turkey is moist, and the pork bbq is fantastic. The ham is generally excellent, but occasionally can drift towards the dry side. The menu is simple, maybe a little limited, but they know their strengths and stick to them. They have not had soups lately, which is too bad, because their stews and chilis were excellent. I suspect that the soup may be seasonal...fall and winter...so I will wait patiently for their return. The sides, cole slaw and potato salad, are a little understated, confined in small containers in the soda cooler. They could probably bump up that size a bit and make them more a part of the experience. The fries, on the other hand, are ridiculous. Hot, salty, and almost illegally delicious. One hint...if you are not going to eat them in your car, peel the foil covering the cup back so that they don't steam and get limp. Trust me on that. Some minor quibbles...horseradish is pretty tame, could use more of a bite. This goes for the bbq sauce, too. I'd like to see something with some serious heat. And (this is not limited to Bayside Bull) enough with the obnoxious little ketchup packets. By the time I get the little pool of ketchup that I require to drown my fries, my food is cold. Splurge and get the pump and little plastic cups with lids. This is the kind of a place that is the anti-chain restaurant. Employees who genuinely care and move like their lives depend on it. They take pride in their food, and it shows. An old reliable, I am never, ever disappointed with Bayside Bull.

Yum, yum, yum! This is a bare bones (pardon the pun) bbq joint that is as good as it gets. We ran across it today totally by accident and decided to stop without knowing it was a local institution. Don't be discouraged by the lack of seating inside. Everything is packed to go and you can eat outside, in your car, or take it home (if you can resist it that long)! They had pulled beef, pork, and turkey and all the traditional sides (slaw, potato salad, chips, fries). The prices are very reasonable, the service is fast, and the food is fantastic. We had two sandwiches, two sides, and drinks all for about $15. Worth making a special trip next time!

I've been eating at Bayside Bull for over 20 years! It is the definitive place to go in this area for true Baltimore Pit Beef. The sandwiches are stacked high with delicious meat cooked with fire. Pair it with their hand-cut fries and you have a HOME RUN meal! Their pit turkey and ham are also fantastic! As you queue through the line, you need to know how to order. "Beef -- rare, cheese, onion and fries" starts your sandwich before they even ring you up. Bayside Bull is carry-out only -- there's not a table or seat to be found. That's perfectly fine as it adds to the mystique of the business. They only take CASH, but have an ATM on site. If I had to pick-out some negatives they would be their pulled pork -- it's not the best in the area, but fills the need if it strikes. I'd love to see them blend a house BBQ sauce rather than just serving-up something pre-bottled. The horseradish is a 10 though!

Am I missing something? I ordered two types of sandwiches--the beef and the pulled pork. What a huge disappointment. I expected flavorful, moist beef with a good barbeque sauce and what i got was something that looked like Arby's roast beef with just about as much flavor. Even the sauce I was supposed to use (barbeque) tasted like it came right out of a bottle. Aren't these places supposed to smoke the beef -- this looked like a they bought deli roast beef and smoked it for a few minutes. The pulled pork was the same way, dry, mushed together as if it were not fresh. They must have worked hard to take out all the moisture and flavor. Same old bottled sauce as for the beef. The sandwich rolls were cold, dry and wrong for a good barbeque sandwich. Oh wait, it wasn't a good barbeque sandwich. I am new to Annapolis and thus far the restaurants have struck out with me.

The ABSOLUTE BEST PULLED PORK in the AREA. If you have never been you are missing out. Don't forget cash or you will have to use the ATM in the lobby. Large portions with a reasonable price tag, pick up a small homemade side dish or soup and your ready for chow time.

No frills bbq place that serves some very good food. Have had the pit beef carved while you wait (which is only a matter of a few seconds) and also the bbq sandwich which is pretty good. The beef can get a bit dry later in the day, so ask for medium if they have it or plan on visiting earlier rather than later. Also note: No credit cards, and no seating. Service is 'fast' and you'll be expected to place your order and keep the line moving pretty quickly.

Bayside Bull offers great pit beef and even better pit turkey sandwiches. It's a little off the beaten path, but I drive out of my way for it (mostly because it's the closest place pit beef place to me, but still 15 miles away from home.) They are very fast and orderly and decently priced. There is no place to sit inside and I wish they were a little more generous on the BBQ sauce, but all in all a good place to pick up some good sandwiches.

I have been eating at Bayside Bull for as long as I remember (back when it used to be on the corner of Pike Ridge and 2, where the BB&T is now). Great food overall. The Italian sausage is especially delicious. Their fries are great too. The prices have been increasing dramatically over the last few years though. As others have noted, they do not take cards which is both odd and annoying in this day and age. However, it is a part of what makes the area great and I would not change anything about it, other than them not taking cards for payment.

Best pit beef in Anne Arundel County! The sandwiches are huge and the carry out is quick. I will drive drive 20 minutes just to get a sandwich

I've never been a huge BBQ eater. but gave these guys a try as they are close to my work and I had heard great reviews. I LOVE them! They know how to make some fries, and the turkey sandwich is delicious! I don't eat red meat so I can't review the others, but my hubby loves them too, so I'm sure they are just as amazing. I have pretty simple taste, so these guys are right up my alley. Simple but of good quality. The last star is a bit of a catch 22 as I'm sure it helps keep prices low, but they ARE cash only and do not offer seating. They do have an ATM available however. Also, service is fast and friendly. Even the youngest team members are knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
