Good restaurant in lovely Easton. The oyster po boy, more like a rich boy, was delicious--perfect oysters and crunch--and served with Parmesan crusted French fries. Soup and sandwich combo was good--the perfect portion and served with crunchy homemade potato chips. Spinach salad with fried goat cheese was fresh and topped with chicken.

Lunch visit! Crab dip was great! Bread was warm and fresh with a crispy crust soft center. Shrimp salad platter was thoroughly enjoyed by my wife and I had the Chicken salad sandwich. Totally delicious. Fruit side on the platter was awesome, the fruit was crisp and ripe. So Good! Service was attentive and professional. Waters were filled quickly without asking. Beverages (Mojitos) were delicious.

I was drawn to this place because of the adorable, shaded patio area next to the restaurant. On a not-too-humid summer day, it was a great place to have dinner. We started with the tomato tart ($12) and crab dip ($12). The tart had a puff pastry crust, frisee and a balsamic drizzle. It was delicious but small! I only got a bite or two, sharing with my family. The crab dip was really yummy. The spinach in it was a nice surprise and made me feel slightly less guilty about eating such a rich appetizer. The loaf of bread that came was hot and had a great crust and soft interior. We got a second loaf for $1. For entrees, we got the New York Strip ($34), rockfish ($28), mahi-mahi (catch of the day- $28) and scallops ($32). The steak seemed huge at 14 oz. and was a perfect medium-- not overcooked at all. It came with potatoes and onions that tasted JUST like sour cream and onion chips. I loved it. The scallops were another standout dish, served over a delicious lobster risotto that had good chunks of lobster. The arugula on top brightened the whole plate. The rockfish and mahi-mahi were good but nothing particularly spectacular. Desserts were an assortment of three sorbets ($7) and the espresso chocolate mousse ($8). The coconut sorbet was the best one; it tasted just like a frozen coconut. The mousse was a bit heavy, but went amazingly with my cappucino. Service was a little slow; we had to ask a couple times to get a wine menu later in the meal and for an extra set of utensils. There was also a rather strong smell of bug repellent that didn't do much, since we still found ourselves fighting off flies and mosquitoes-- but that's to be expected if you want to sit outside.

Have had good meals here in the past. If they are busy, however, find somewhere else. Tried to go today for lunch. Were seated upstairs and after 20 minutes, and in spite of a server passing our table numerous times, and a request for service, no one decided it was worth the effort. Furthermore, management appeared indifferent.

Had small plates in the bar side. Everything was excellent, could not have been better. I highly recommend eating at Masons.

The best Burger and Fries, and drinks are good. My complaint is that after the change of hands a few months ago, they have still neglected to clean the back bar and a few other places at least that costumers can see (its been noticeable for a while). Sort of off-putting to see floor grime and grit, finger prints on glasses and utensils, and the staff can't be bothered to be clean as they go, for a more upscale restaurant. The staff is sometimes in two different places, one there and going through the motions, and one leaving as soon as the shift is over. Come on..get it together, it can be a nicer place with a clean place and good food. I would say the same for the owners other place Bistro in SM.

Our family cane here on a busy Saturday night. I had to tweek the reservation and they made the changes with no complaints. The service was very prompt. The food was well prepared with careful attention given to preparation and presentation. We did not feel rushed which started the night out on the right foot. We will return again.

We enjoyed dinner in the garden at Mason's early on a Thursday night. We sat next to a small water feature next to the patio. We ordered the crab cake and seafood quiche. The bread the accompanied the meal was fresh and delicious. With the crab cake were two fried tomato slices and a corn salsa. The meal was excellent.

Went here over the wff weekend with family and we really enjoyed ourselves. The crab dip was excellent and our entrees which included crabcakes, scallops with lobster risotto, and chicken breast were all very good. The waitress Kim, was very attentive and nice. The menu could use some variety, there were only a few choices for entrees, but we were not disappointed

My review is based on tea and coffee with cakes at the Mason's. This was my first visit to Easton. Everyone else in the group was there before and they suggested having our cake and coffee there. It was almost dinner time, and I thought we would not be welcomed to just have coffee with dessert, when I saw the set up for dinner. However, I was surprised to see how much attention and great service we were given. The cakes were typical American cakes and the green tea was excellent. Everyone had a wonderful relaxing time. And did I say the server was terrific! Well, I will say it again.

This is my special occasion celebration restaurant. Love everything about this restaurant: staff, food, and atmosphere. There is a cute outside dining area. Prices are a bit high. Go here for lunch for better pricing. I will be enjoying more meals here as its my favorite.

Inventive menu great location friendly staff. The Crab cakes were magnificent, and leave room for the Carrot cake and other memorable deserts.

Based on Yelp's reviews we had dinner at this restaurant and it was a disaster. The Caesar salad had no taste. Furthermore, the menu states that it has special whole wheat croutons yet ours contain some stale white flour ones. For the main course we selected the crab cake which was just OK and the fresh stripped bass. The fish came dry and overcooked so we send it back. The second attempt was a semi raw fish which was also returned. What good chef does not know how to cook fish??. Also, we are rather knowledgeable about fresh fish and suspect that the bass was not from the Bay but was caught elsewhere and was shipped frozen. The wait staff apologized and removed the item from the bill, as expected, but the experience left us wondering who was manning the kitchen.

This is my second or third time eating at Mason's. The grilled short rib burger is worth having. It was decent as it has been in the past. Should have been served warmer but not a deal killer. What is not worth having are the PEI Mussels. Absolutely no taste in the ingredients and that ruins the mussels. I'm used to having my mussels with baguette which we would dip in the tasty sauce of the mussels. First, no taste. And then they didn't bring bread out with the mussels. We had to request bread and they charged for it. The standard for mussels in the DC area are set by Bistro du Coin and Mason's ranks .5 on 1 to 10 scale. But the saddest part: When asked at the end of the meal if everything was okay the manager didn't even react when we told him about the mussels. Didn't skip a beat and continued to clear our plates. Would have expected some pride in their product but apparently they have none.

As a local, I have been coming to Mason's for years, and it remains one of my favorite lunch destinations. It's always nice to walk into one of their brightly painted rooms and know you are about to have a great meal. The patio and porch areas are lovely in the summer time. Some of my personal menu favorites are the Napa and French Connection sandwiches. The Caesar and Cobb salads are also great. I'm not a huge quiche fan, but I have heard good things about their daily quiche selections. I am usually too full for dessert, but make sure to check out their selection at the counter by the candy. Usually the service is very good. Occasionally, though, I have had slow or inattentive service. These experiences are definitely the exception and not the rule.

Used to love this place when Mrs mason ran it. It used to have the best candies and most wonderful gifts. Now that the suns run it it is just a huge restaraunt only worried about making money. Shame used to be a great place but the boys ruined it. Won't ever be back. They took tge old charm out of it. Too bad.

This place is fabulous! Great food, portions, wait staff. Menu changes frequently so there is always something new to try. I have been coming here for years - and never been disappointed. Best place in Easton!

Exceptional. Service was great, food was great and price was reasonable. I had the chicken piccata and it was fantastic. It was a unique take on the traditional piccata you typically get at a restaurant. highly recommend this restaurant. The outdoor patio has a great ambiance there are fans out there as well to keep you cool.

My review relates only to my unsuccessful/unpleasant attempts, calling from the west coast, to purchase a gift or gift certicate. In any other respect, it may be a wonderful place. I haven't visited in many, many years. Attempt one, several years ago: ordered an assortment of chocolates with instructions for sales person to call a local number & inform recipient. After my sister's BD, found that no such thing had been done, called MM's, no record of my request or CC transaction made. Attempt two, mother's day 2013: Once again, same circumstances. This time, had given most of order info when the sales person said very abruptly "Hold on." Half a minute or so later, I got "Mason's, how can I help you?" I allowed her to help by cancelling my order. So, a combination of ineptness and lack of any attempt whatsoever at politeness on the phone has soured me of any sort of call-in gift transactions....or, truthfully any visits when I'm in the area.

My husband and I have eaten at Mason's many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. The food, service, and atmosphere are always excellent! We even had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Mason's and it was just perfect. They made planning the dinner simple for us, and of course, our guests were all thrilled with their meals. Both lunch and dinner selections are wonderful and the desserts are out of this world!! You can never go wrong with their decadent red velvet cake! Yum!!!

My mom and I visited Masons last week for lunch. It was my first time, but my mom has been several times as she has a show hanging in a gallery down the street. The server was very sweet and the service was speedy. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a bowl of chili. My chili was really yummy as well as my sandwich. My mother's meal was DELICIOUS! I regret not having ordered it. She had the ham and cheese quiche special of the day with a salad. It was a massive serving with a beautiful salad. The quiche was light, fluffy and creamy just like a good quiche should be. I cannot wait to go again!

Nearing the end of our Eastern Shore tour we found lunch at Mason's in Easton, Maryland where we dined on the porch overlooking the crowded outdoor patio. My wife had a roasted tomato bisque with real fresh caught/cooked tuna fish salad sandwich while I moved over to a short rib grass fed burger ( just had our fill of crab stuff!) accompanied by an Albarino for only $65.00 plus tip. Service was prompt, friendly, and courteous and being outside in October was a treat.

Probably some of the best food in Easton, but you have to be willing to pay for it! For lunch, the salads are excellent as well as the quiche. For dinner, the mussels appetizer is delicious as well as the salads. I haven't tried anything here that I didn't like. They have absolutely phenomenal desserts. When the weather is nice, the outdoor seating creates a a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy your meal.

Upon arriving at Mason's, we were seated promptly in the room in the rear of the converted home. While they offered us premium bottled water, I appreciated the fact that they didn't make a deal that we were fine with regular ice water. The bread offering were delightful. One person in our party had olive bread and I enjoyed the pecan raisin bread. It was accompanied by a dipping sauce - mixture of olive oil, garlic, sun dried tomatoes and more. Their roasted beet salad was very tasty. It had water cress, argula and goat cheese, roasted peanuts and a balsamic dressing. The Chesapeake Rockfish was very moist and flavorful. Their special quiche had crab meat and was very good. The chicken pot pie which my daughter enjoyed sported a disc shaped crust topping filled with colorful vegetables and chicken. She really enjoyed it. In addition to an excellent wine list, they also have a set of bargain wines priced at $25 per bottle. We enjoyed the Pinot Gris from Germany - a great deal for the price.

I've eaten several times at Mason's--lunches and dinners; outside on the terrace, downstairs and upstairs in the indoor restaurant. Every time has been better than the last. The food is consistently delicious and the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. Their menu is varied and offers light and heavier meals. Their fish dishes are quite tasty served on beds of fresh vegetables. Their salads are creative and made from the freshest ingredients. Their artesian salad is my absolute favorite though I must say when I bit into to the beet salad last night with roasted chèvre I thought I might have a new fav. And I love the feel of the place. All around 5 stars.

My in-laws brought me here for lunch when I came down to visit them. We were immediately seated outside, and after we had ordered, my father-in-law took me to go look at the dessert case. I knew right then that we would be getting dessert! My half sandwich and soup were delicious, egg salad with pastrami and cream of mushroom soup. I've never had egg salad with meat before, and I gotta say, I liked it! The caramel apple cake I had for dessert was amazing as well. I really want to go back and try their chocolates (and some of the other cakes). Our waitress was great as well.

Have not tried full dining, love the atmosphere on the bar/shop side. Great spot for capuccino and dessert (great selection, even truffles) with friends. When I want another gourmet hamburger with great fries, I'll go back for lunch. Servers are unusually helpful, courteous, prompt.

I just finished my second time dining at Mason's and it was just as wonderful as my first experience. The building, like many in Easton, is a renovated house that exudes the same bright and welcoming atmosphere of the town itself. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our waitress arrived within 2 minutes to take our drink orders and tell us about their specials of the day. I went for the soup and sandwich of the day special which was gazpacho topped with crab salad and a catfish taco. The gazpacho was full of flavor and also came topped with a thin slice of garlic baguette which was crunchy and perfectly seasoned. My only complaint about the gazpacho is that it was pureed and lacked the big chunks of vegetables that I prefer in a gazpacho, but that is just my personal preference and in no way detracted from the deliciousness of the soup. The catfish taco was phenomenal. It came topped with a slightly tangy tartar sauce and cole slaw. The slaw was perfect: light and crunchy. When I looked at the fish i feared that there was far too much breading. My fears were assuaged after my first, perfect bite. The fish had a thin, crisp layer of breading and was cooked absolutely perfectly. The food was fabulous, well-portioned and very affordable. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Mason's is definitely a must if you are in the area.

Art Academy staff recommended Mason's for lunch and we were not disappointed. Good salad and great crab cake. Dessert carrot cake was most excellent. Service was good and staff very friendly. We will put this on our list of favorites in Easton.

3.75 stars. This review is only for Mason's selection of chocolates, as I have not had the pleasure of dining in this intimate, refurbished Victorian home. The candy case stretches along the back corridor of the space, displaying butter creams, non pareils, turtles, truffles, and other chocolates. Most of the flavors are traditional (cherry, mint, hazelnut) but the confections are fresh and the non pareils melt slowly and unctuously on your tongue. And, the setting and people are delightful, friendly without being overly energetic. A pleasant shop in Easton's historic district.

When I heard that we were going out for a nice dinner on the Eastern Shore, I was skeptical. After all, we were staying out in the middle of nowhere on the property of a converted farm. But here we were in a renovated Victorian home in the quaint downtown of Easton about to experience new heights of sophistication. I started with the 'Davon Crest Farms Baby Greens' salad, which came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, goat cheese, and a raspberry vinaigrette. It was as good as it sounds. I followed this with their crab cake sandwich, mostly because I was in Maryland. It was good, but there's only so much you can do with a crab cake sandwich. I also had the pleasure of trying their asparagus, which comes smothered with a wild mushroom fricassee that really turns it into something special, and the tomato tart, which isn't much of a tart, but who can complain about caramelized onion, basil, yellow frisee, and a balsamic glaze? Also, you can't go wrong with anything on their impressive desserts and cordials menu.

I dined at Mason's last night on my inaugeral jaunt through Easton. The quaint, Eastern Shore ambiance is reflected in the dining room. Though I have a penchant for dining al fresco, I abstained on account of my grandmother's clear discomfort in the oppressive moist heat. The service was friendly and attentive. The dinners rolls are served individually, which was a kind method of managing my roll gluttony. I tasted the whole wheat and sourdough. They were pleasant, with hard exteriors and soft, warm interiors. We started with the seared foie gras and confit pot stickers with a strawberry and cherry compote. It was a pleasing indulgence, as I haven't had foie gras in several years, until my dear cousin reminded me of the horrific...well, moving on...For the main course, I opted for the Day Boat Scallops served over creamed corn and mizuna salad. Purely delectable, the scallops were generously sized smooth as butter. The corn was a bit bland, but the mizuna offered a welcome mustard tinged bite to the dish. After dinner, I followed my cousin over to the chocolatier counter. I chose a dark chocolate cherry cordial, a milk chocolate almond kitten (similar to a turtle) and a few pieces of sugar free chocolate for my grandmother. While I am not sure the meal merits a return visit, the decadent morsels offered at the Mason's chocolatier counter are certainly worthy.

The building, including the restaurant, patio, and candy shop are all very nice. Very conservative, quaint restuarant with classic offerings that are prepared quite well. On a nice day, sit outside for lunch and an iced tea for a tranquil dining experience. Quiche is great, as are the sandwiches. Worth a trip for an excellent experience and meal.

This is an amazing place. Excellent food, remarkable service, a truly outstanding restaurant. Beef salad, and crab cakes are highly recommended. No crab cakes i have ever had elsewhere came close to those served at Mason's.
