The sandwiches and bagel bites are good. Good variety. Coffee is subpar. They do have a convenient $2 coffee honor system so you can grab and go. It's pretty clean. Staff is so-so. Creepy cook in the back staring at the young girl customers which is extremely uncomfortable. It's like trying to avoid his stare while you're ordering.

Here's the deal: Joe's Bagel Cafe has the freshest food, best service, exceptional bagels and great sandwiches/soups. PLUS Joe supports the local community continuously throughout the year (without any fanfare).

Great breakfast stop on the Eastern Shore. Quick service, great bagels and an excellent breakfast sandwich.

They have good food and service. The coffee is also very good and the owner and staff are always friendly.

Swung by here this morning to get a breakfast with less $$$ and to do than in St. Michaels where we are staying. Bagels are darn tasty, like other reviews say, and I'm visiting from Jersey, so I know! That said they're a bit smaller than I'm used to at a Dunkin Donuts or similar size from an indie bagel shop but that's actually a good thing. Big variety of coffees, including plain, a plus for hubby, more than expected from a small place like this. Would come back again.

I ordered a Southwestern wrap with egg beaters, no cheese. Asked for salt and pepper and was told "you will have to put it on yourself, we don't do that". When I inquired why I was told "If we did it for you, we would have to do it for everyone". Gee, give people what they want? Scandalous! Girl behind the counter had the look " I hate my job, but I hate you even more for coming in here and making me do it".

The perfect place to grab a coffee and a good bagel, croissant, sandwich...quite a few things on the menu actually. The layout is nice and there is plenty of seating. I like how the coffee station is on your own...I can add what I want to my liking, and it was good coffee. I got the turkey avocado and sprout sandwich on a croissant...very good. Looking forward to coming back!

Pretty good bagel place. Skeptical of the bagel claim of 'best outside of NY, but tasty as heck. Light and fluffy and overall good!

went there for a quick breakfast with my mom, she had the burrito special, it was fine fairly bland but fresh tasting, I had the bagel sandwich with egg and cheese, on a honey wheat bagel, toasted, I asked for a little cream cheese on the bagel so it wouldn't be dry (where I used to live a smear of cream cheese was on all the bagel sandwiches) first off they charged me (without telling me there was an extra charge) I don't mind paying a little extra, but they charged $1.55 for about a tablespoon of cream cheese, the sandwich when I got it was hot, the egg tasted like it was out of a microwave and the cheese was so melted it was all but disappearing, the bagel was dense and heavy and very very dry (even with the cream cheese, and egg and cheese) one other customer overheard me say about the ridiculous charge for the cream cheese, and said they charge for everything even a tab of butter.

Went back to Bagel Cafe that is now Joe,s Cafe and was disappointed. I was there for lunch and got the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo . I had a choice of two "paninis". I chose the roast beef. Hey Joe your idea of a panini is not mine. It was made with a thin tortilla, with very little roast beef and cheese. The New England clam chowder was the soup I chose and it was thick and creamy but lacking in the potato and clam department. I couldn't find any clam at all. I also found the place sloppy. There was powdered creamer spilt all over the counter and trash in front of the trash can. Joe put someone to work cleaning up!Please. I also hope you have somebody pulling baskets out of the trash can. I pulled out four.
